  • In many literatures on VaR and CTE for multivariate distribution, these are estimated by using transformed univariate distribution with a specific ratio of many kinds of portfolios. Even though there are lots of works to define quantiles for multivariate distributions, there does not exist a quantile uniquely. Hence, it is not easy to define the VaR and CTE. In this paper, we propose the weighted CTE vectors corresponding to various ratio combinations of many kinds of portfolios by extending the researches on the alternative VaR and integrated multivariate CTE based on multivariate quantiles. We extend relation equations about univariate CTEs to multivariate CTE vectors and discuss their characteristics. The proposed weighted CTEs are explored with some data from multivariate normal distribution and illustrative examples.

  • This paper presents the numerical calculation for input impedance of a conductor located in the loss media by using the program with MATLAB. The input impedances of the conductor were numerically calculated with the moment of method. To increase an accuracy of results, the Galerkin's method which both the basic function and the weight function are the triangle function was applied. And by applying the modified image method, image sources of the conductor located in air were considered. According to the comparison between the current distributions at the conductor which were calculated with the MATLAB program and the NEC program, the reliability of the self-made program with MATLAB was obtained. In case of the conductor located in soil, which length are 1 m and 2 m, the input impedance were simulated as a function of both a conductivity and a frequency. Finally, input impedances and phases of the conductor located in soil were measured, and those results were compared with simulated results which calculated under the same conditions.

  • In this paper, a mechanical analysis model for steep-slope log-skidding operations of a rubber-tired tractor is discussed and the applicability of the model is investigated. The model largely consists of mathematical analysis models for log drag, dynamic vehicle weight distributions and soil-vehicle traction. For the case study, a theoretical data set for log skidding operations is used in investigating the effect of the factors influencing the results of mechanical analysis or the productivity of skidding operations. The analyses include 1) the effect of log choking methods on tangential log-skidding force, 2) the effects of the change in travel speed and log load on the required input power to the wheels and 3) the log skidding performance of a two-wheel drive compared with that of a four-wheel drive.

  • This study investigated the effects of three proteases (trypsin, pepsin and chymotrypsin) on the hydrolysis efficiency of porcine placenta and the molecular weight (Mw) distributions of the placental hydrolysates. Because placenta was made up of insoluble collagen, the placenta was gelatinized by applying thermal treatment at $90^{\circ}C$ for 1 h and used as the sample. The placental hydrolyzing activities of the enzymes at varying concentrations and incubation times were determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Based on the SDS-PAGE, the best placental hydrolysis efficiency was observed in trypsin treatments where all peptide bands disappeared after 1 h of incubation as compared to 6 h of chymotrypsin. Pepsin hardly hydrolyzed the placenta as compared to the other two enzymes. The Mw distribution revealed that the trypsin produced placental peptides with Mw of 106 and 500 Da. Peptides produced by chymotrypsin exhibited broad ranges of Mw distribution (1-20 kDa), while the pepsin treatment showed Mw greater than 7 kDa. For comparisons of pre-treatments, the subcritical water processing (37.5 MPa and $200^{\circ}C$) of raw placenta improved the efficiency of tryptic digestions to a greater level than that of a preheating treatment ($90^{\circ}C$ for 1 h). Consequently, subcritical water processing followed by enzymatic digestions has the potential of an advanced collagen hydrolysis technique.

  • Correlation of microsatellite heterozygosity with performance or heterosis was reported in wild animal populations and domestic animal populations, but the correlation with heterosis in a crossbreeding F$_1$ pig population remained uncertain. To explore this, we had random selected and mated Yorkshire${\times}$Meishan (F, n = 82) and their reciprocal (G, n = 47) to F$_1$, and used the two straightbreds as control groups (Yorkshire = 34, Meishan = 55), and observed the heterosis of birth weight (BWT), average daily gain (ADG) and feed and meat ratio (FMR). Two Kinds of measurement-individual heterozygosity (IH) and individual mean d$^2$ (lg value, ID) were used as index of heterozygosity and variance from 39 microsatellite marker loci to perform univariate regression analysis against heterosis. We detected significant correlation of IH with BWT in all of F$_1$ (F+G) and in F. We observed significant correlation of ID with ADG in all of F$_1$ (F+G), and with FMR in all of F$_1$ (F+G) and in F. There was significant maternal effect on heterosis, which was indicated by significant difference of means and distribution of heterosis between F and G. This difference was consistent with distributions of IH and ID, and with difference of means in F and G. From this study, it would be suggested that the two kinds of genetic index could be used to explore the genetic basis of heterosis in crossbreeding populations but could not determine which is better.

Methods: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of gluteus medius muscles strengthening exercise on the pressure distribution of the foot in 20 healthy adults. Four gluteus medius muscles strengthening exercise programs were conducted three times a week for four weeks. The pressure distribution changed of the right and left foot parts of the experimental group and the control group were measured and analyzed. Results: There was a significant difference in F1, F2, M1, M2, and H1 among the pressure distribution of the right foot of the experimental group (p<.05). There was a significant difference in F1, M1, M2, H1 and H2 among the pressure distributions of the left foot of the experimental group (p<.05). There was a significant difference in H1 among the pressure distribution of the right foot of the control group (p<.05). There was no significant difference in the pressure distribution of the left foot region of the control group (p>.05). There was a significant difference in H1 among the pressure distribution of the right foot between the group (p<.05). There was a significant difference in M2, H1 among the pressure distribution of the left foot between the group (p<.05). Conclusions: In the healthy adults, it was confirmed that the application of the gluteus medius muscles strengthening exercise had an effect on the weight shift during the walking due to the overall foot balance and the pressure distribution change of the foot part.

  • The spatial distribution and abundance of fish species was estimate near Dok-do, East Sea of Korea by conducting midwater trawl survey with hydroacoustic method. Acoustic and midwater trawl data were collected onboard the R/V Tamgu 21 during 7-8 March 2016. Acoustic data were collected at the frequencies of 38 and 120 kHz and converted to nautical area scattering strength ($m^2/nmile^2$). Species are distributed mainly over an extent of 30-55 m, generally around southwest of Dok-do; the squid Watasenia scintillans was the dominant species found. The length-weight function and target strength of squid and other fishes were used to estimate the W. scintillans stock at 2499.1 tons and other fish at 43.8 tons during the winter season. The hydroacoustic method offers an approach for the determination of the biomass and vertical and spatial distributions of species aggregating near Dok-do, East Sea of Korea.

  • Polyurethane foams are polymeric material with repeating groups of urethane and urea. When these are heated with ethylene glycol and K acetate catalyst at $200^{\circ}C$, the transesterification of them leads to soluble products. The mechanisms of the reaction were investigated from the molecular weight and the component distributions of the products by GPC and IR analysis. The degradation of the urethane groups was faster than that of urea groups in transesterification reaction. K acetate catalyst accelerated the rate of the transesterification because it had a high ionization tendency. Each reaction, using K or Sr acetate as a catalyst, progressed in the same reaction path but yielded different compositions in products because of the difference of the reaction rate.

  • This study was performed to compare DNA content by flow cytometer (FCM) and glutathione S-transferase placental form (GST-P) positive foci for searching objective and accurated properties of tumor. Sprague-Dawley rats aged six weeks were divided into three groups and group 1 and 2 of rats were given an intraperitoneal injection of diethylnitrosamine at 200mg/kg body weight and group 3 of rats were given saline. Three weeks after beginning of the experiment, all groups were performed partial hepatectomy. Group 1 of rats were begun to feed on diets containing 0.02% 2-acetylaminofluorene as a promoter for six weeks, group 2 and 3 of rats were begun to feed on basal diets. At 4, 6, and 8 weeks after initiation, all groups of rats were killed, livers were extracted for H & E stain, immunohistochemical stain, and DNA ploidy analysis. In quantitative analysis for GST-P positive lesion number and area by using Image Analyzer, group 1 and 2 represented significant difference in comparison with group 3. In ploidy distribution, diploid cells of group 1 and 2 were increased significantly in comparison with those of group 3 at 4, 6, and 8 weeks after initiation, respectively tetraploid cells were reduced. But S-phase cells were not changed significantly. It is concluded that ploidy change by FCM is useful as objective data for early detection in hepatocarcinogenesis. Therefore, methodology and study of DNA content are carried out for more objective and accurate ploidy analysis in liver tumor.

  • A Compton X-ray backscatter technique has been developed to quantitatively assess impact damage in quasi-isotropic laminated composites made by a drop-weight tester. X-ray backscatter imaging system with a slit-type camera is constructed to obtain a cross-sectional profile of impact-damaged laminated composites from the electron-density variation of the cross section. A nonlinear scattering model based on Boltsman equation is introduced to compute Compton X-ray backscattering field for the defect assessment. An adaptive filter is also used to reduce noises from many sources including quantum noise and irregular distributions of fibers and matrix in composites. Delaminations masked or distorted by the first delamination are detected and characterized effectively by the Compton X-ray backscatter technique, both in width and location, by application of error minimization algorithm.
