  • To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.

  • The purpose of this paper is to discuss the design and implementation of a WCBT(Web and Computer based Test). The WCBT combines the strengths of both a WBT(Web-based test) and a CBT(Computer-based test) on the basis of efficiency and stability. The current assessment system, considered an important management tool in the construction and operation of a total management system for the national technical qualification, has some unstable elements with regard to system load and stability. The proposed system's technological aspects have been tested through a basic simulation pilot program. The pilot program will be expanded to include the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry because the stability of the system was proved through its application to the real-time national technical examination of KCCI (Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry). The WCBT system has shown great efficiency in terms of system load, and has solved frequent communication problems which have occurred through the use of foreign qualifying examinations. The server and client systems of the WCBT have been given good evaluations with regard to the convenience of their use and the management system for operators and supervisors.

VLC4WoT : Visible Light Communication for Web of Things

  • Recently, new devices have been developed for the Internet of Things concept. The devices commonly use RF (Radio Frequency) based wireless communication. With the increase in the number of devices, the space allocated for the radio frequency band in wireless communication fills rapidly. Visible Light Communication (VLC) is an alternative, secure and economical communication technology that uses light instead of radio frequencies. While Web of Things (WoT) is the adaptation of the experience and knowledge acquired from the web into the internet of things ecosystems. By combining these two technologies, the development of the Visible Light Communication for Web of Things (VLC4WoT) system, which can use VLC and WoT technologies, has been our motivation. In our study, microcontroller control circuit was created for VLC4WoT system. Control of the circuits over the internet was performed. VLC based receiver and transmitter units have been developed for wireless communication. Web based interface was created for control. The test apparatus consisting of four objects with four outputs and a transfer unit was carried out. In this test, communication was achieved successfully. It was presented in the study that VLC can be used in the web of things architecture. In the future, it is envisaged to use this system as a safe and economical system in indoor environments.

  • Currently, Price comparison sites receive inputs of product information and price manually after being joined by releted shopping mall companies, and can't support automatically price fluctuation of products in real time. Therefore, this paper designs and implements web service system based on SOAP for interactive product order and price comparison dynamically using web service technologies in real time. This web service system composes web service client module including functions of product search, sort and order, and server module including functions of remote procedure call for product search and order. This web service system implements interchanging product information based on SOAP messages and can support independence of platform and flexible potability in environment conforming to SOAP, WSDL and UDDI standards.

  • It is not easy for users to effectively have information that is semantically related but scattered on the Web. To obtain qualitatively improved information in web pages, it is necessary to integrate information that is heterogeneous but semantically related. In this study, we propose a method that provides XML-based metadata to users through integration of multiple heterogeneous Web pages. The metadata generated from the proposed system is obtained by integrating different heterogeneous information into a single page, using entity identification based on ontology. A wheelchair information integration system for disabled people is implemented to verify the efficiency of the proposed method. The implemented system provides an integrated web page from multiple web pages as a type of XML document.

  • This paper designs and implements wire/wireless web service system based on SOAP for price comparison dynamically using web service technoloies in real time.   • In a construction project, collaboration amongst the project participants is a critical factor for high-quality results and successful completion of the project. Owing to the advance of information technologies, web-based systems have become more common in the construction industry, but research and development has been made for only limited areas. For organized and systematic collaboration in various fields, collaboration systems have to be developed in a holistic manner based on diverse needs from the whole construction industry. This study aims to investigate the current status of web-based collaboration systems from structural engineers' perspectives and propose an improvement plan. For a systematic analysis of selected cases, we apply a classification of three developmental stages depending on interoperability and organizational levels: structural design and analysis, collaborative design, and integrated design management. Thereafter, the characteristics of each stage are extracted and comparatively analyzed. Lastly, three functional factors were proposed for the improvement of web-based collaboration systems for structural design.

  • A web application running on the Internet is causing many difficulties for a program developer, and it requires to process multiple sessions at the same time due to the occurrence of excessive traffic. Web applications should be able to process concurrent requests efficiently and in real time. Node.js is a single-threaded server-side JavaScript environment implemented in C and C ++ as one of the latest frameworks to implement event models across the entire stack. Nodes implement JavaScript quickly and robust to achieve the best performance using a JavaScript V8 engine developed by Google. In this paper, it will be explained the operation principle of Node.js, which is a lightweight real-time web server that can be implemented in JavaScript for real-time responsive web applications. In addition, this application was practically implemented through automatic alignment system for group scheduling to demonstrate event-based real-time response web processing.

  • This paper investigates the issue of performance testing on web browsing environments. Among the typical non-functional characteristics, index of link validity will be deeply explored. A framework to certify link correctness in web site is proposed. All possible navigation paths are first formulated to represent a usage model with the Markov chain property, which is then used to generate test script file statistically. With collecting any existing failure information followed by tracing these testing browsed paths, certification analysis may be performed by applying Markov chain theory. The certification result will yield some significant information such as: test coverage, reliability measure, confidence interval, etc. The proposed mechanism may provide not only completed but also systemic methodologies to find any linking errors and other web technologies errors. Besides, an actual practice of the proposed approach to a web-based system will be demonstrated quantitatively through a certification tool.
