This paper is concerned with the design and construction of navigational interfaces on the web-based multimedia courseware, in particular for the education of elementary school children. Three different types of navigational strategies for the different structures of information are discussed. For hierarchically organised subject material, a single menu list is considered to be the most appropriate means of navigation. The interface of the 'Study of the Internet' provides a combination of child and sibling menus and sequential tools. The menus are used for navigating topics and subtopics, and the sequential method is used for navigating pages. The final navigational interface has the advantages of allowing the student flexible navigation, and proving an indication of progress through the subject material. Finally, the combination of menu and sequential navigational methods allow a student to maintain context, whilst navigating through different levels of hierarchical information. It thus reduces the danger that the student will lose their way, without overconstraining the navigational path.

The purpose of this study was to improve teacher's instruction to comparative, analytic method about the excellent teachers and general teachers of Korean subject through Flanders' Interaction System. The objects for analysis were field excellent instructions which were known as the best lectures from the instruction contest in Busan city, and the normal lectures by school curriculum which were video recorded and openly released on the web. This study was limited the use of same grade, subject and period. The analytic method used the software of AF(Advanced Flanders) based on the frame of Flanders' language Interaction System. Results showed as follows: (a) The excellent teachers used more interactions with the praise and encouragement than general teachers. (b) The excellent teachers induced students asked questions and answers with voluntary. These results could provide effective self-checking tools for enhance their instruction.

The advent of new technologies and descriptive tools, including the Web, XML, and EAD, have highlighted the necessity of content standard which can integrate and manage to library materials and archives and accommodate various finding aids for information exchange. This research analyzes both APPM2 and DACS. The former is an old established description rule. On the other hand, the latter keeps step with ISAD(G) and ISAAR(CPF) as adopting the international trend of archives and is able to describe the data structure of a variety of finding aids including MARC, EAD, etc. As a result, it presents the points to take into consideration as making descriptive rules about our archives.
Objectives: Spatial analysis is useful for understanding complicated causal relationships. This paper focuses trends and appling methods for spatial analysis associated with environmental asbestos exposure. Methods: Literature review and reflection of experience of authors were conducted to know academic background of spatial analysis, appling methods on epidemiology and asbestos exposure. Results: Spatial analysis based on spatial autocorrelation provides a variety of methods through which to conduct mapping, cluster analysis, diffusion, interpolation, and identification. Cause of disease occurrence can be investigated through spatial analysis. Appropriate methods can be applied according to contagiousness and continuity. Spatial analysis for asbestos exposure source is needed to study asbestos related diseases. Although a great amount of research has used spatial analysis to study exposure assessment and distribution of disease occurrence, these studies tend to focus on the construction of a thematic map without different forms of analysis. Recently, spatial analysis has been advanced by merging with web tools, mobile computing, statistical packages, social network analysis, and big data. Conclusions: Because the trend in spatial analysis has evolved from simple marking into a variety of forms of analyses, environmental researchers including asbestos exposure study are required to be aware of recent trends.
This paper explains a new design and Implementation of an efficient portable braille point system for visually Impaired person, The information systems for the visually impaired persons require efficiently designed devices, tools and accessibility to use the devices, and education support. These three conditions are the basic requirements of designing systems for the visually impaired persons, The system proposed in this paper satisfies the above three conditions. The system converts data and web documents between the braille and Hangul using an algorithm stored in a PC, and transfers the converted data to portable devices. And the portable braille device presents the transferred data in an electromagnetic way.
In this paper, we present a leaf image retrieval system that represents and retrieves leaf images based on their shape. For more effective representation of leaf images, we improved an existing MPP algorithm. Also, in order to reduce the response time, we proposed a new dynamic matching algorithm at basically revises the Nearest Neighbor search. The system provides users with an interface for uploading query images or tools to generate queries based on shape features and retrieves images based on their similarity. For convenience, users are allowed to easily query images by sketching leaf shape or leaf arrangement on the web. In the experiment, we constructed an image database of Korean native plants and measured the system performance by counting the number of similar images retrieved for queries.

Modern power system is operated and managed in closed network environment with treating a great variety of data, and requirement of real time power system data is more increasing. However, it is difficult for operators to fast evaluate the condition of power system using only isolation network system such as SCADA or EMS regarding unexpecting situations occurring. Recent technology achievement in areas of distributed computing, networking high speed communications and digital control as well as the availability of accurate GPS time source are rapidly becoming the enabling factors for the development of a new generation of real time power grid monitoring tools. In this paper, architecture of WAMAC which is the wide area monitoring and control system not only to control but also to monitoring in real time is proposed and the plan of integration interface with legacy system such as EMS for providing power system analysis base data effectively is suggested.

Recently, the international standard RS-422 serial communication, which was primarily designed for the communications between micro-controllers, has been used as a communication method on the ship. However, as the NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) 2000 standardization progresses recently, a high-speed Ethernet-based communication environment is expected to be an alternative communication method instead of the RS-422 gradually. In addition, the ship's main instrumentation equipment with versatility and convenience is implemented to control devices as monitoring and controlling tools. This paper describes an implementation of wireless ultrasonic anemometer and anemoscope data processing and logger system using PC network, where the control processing equipment such as a separate operational console, data-logger, and indicator is required for the system. For these, the related element technologies to implement ultrasonic anemometer and anemoscope data processing system are expressed as a functional modules, and the NMEA 2000 standard certified data-logger system is implemented without the separate operational console.
The purpose of this study is to segment the mobile phone users based on the flow types and to understand the differences in mobile phone usage behavior between the segmented groups. The 'flow' construct, which was introduced first in marketing by Hoffman and Novak[44], has been used as an important keyword for understanding consumer behavior on the World Wide Web. In this paper, we will try to use the flow aspect for the mobile market segmentation, which is one of the most fundamental tools for developing a successful marketing strategy on the mobile phone service market. We collected survey data from consumers and analyzed the data with the SPSS 12.0 package where we did ${\chi}^2$-test, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA and cluster analysis. Main results of this study are as follow. First, the flow types of the mobile phone users were classified into five types, which are named as the 'Flow' type, 'Apathy' type, 'Anxiety' type, 'Boredom' type, 'Control' type. Second, most of the results related to the usage of mobile phone service showed statistically significant differences between flow types. These findings suggest that the mobile phone service marketers should consider the various flow types of users and work out effective market segmentation strategies based on these consumer flow types.

PLSI(Partership & Leadership for national-wide Supercomputing Infrastructure) Project is about providing computational resources which maintained by partner institutes to researchers. Each institutes use system monitoring tools adopted their environment different others, it is difficult to understand all system's status at a glance. In this paper, we have designed and implemented monitoring system which system administrator easily understanding all resources status like CPU Load, Job status, etc. in PLSI use web browser.
