Development of Web-based Simulator for an Automated Warehouse System : Web-SAW (웹 기반 자동창고시스템 시뮬레이터의 개발 : Web-SAW)

  • Simulation has been recognized as one of major application areas of world wide web. Over the last several years, most research has been focused on the development of web-based simulation languages mostly using JAVA and validation of simulation modeling on web with the newly developed languages. In this paper, we develop a tentative web-based simulator for a simple unit-load automated warehouse system, named Web-SAW. In constructing Web-SAW, we program a user interface program, a simulation logic program, and an animation program with JAVA while utilizing the class library functions and embodiment environment of existing web-based simulation languages. Web-SAW simulates the automated warehouse system with the user input about system operation, displays the animation on a static background representing the system, and generates the various textual outputs after simulation.

Development of a Web-Based Obesity Management Program for Elementary School Students (초등학생을 위한 웹기반 비만관리 프로그램 개발)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a 12-week web-based obesity management program for elementary school students and to evaluate the appropriateness of the developed program from experts and users. Methods: The development of a web-based obesity management program proceeded through the stages of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. After the application of the web-based obesity management program, the evaluation of appropriateness were conducted for knowledge of obesity, obesity control behavior and satisfaction of the program. Collected data has been analyzed using SPSS 19.0. Results: The name of the program developed by this study is healthful weight management and its URL is http://ihealth.or.kr. There were 6 major menus and 18 sub menus including diet, exercise and behavior modification in this program. This study showed that this web-based obesity management program had high satisfaction for a system and increase knowledge of obesity and obesity control behavior for obese children. Conclusion: We expect the web-based obesity management program for elementary school students developed by this study will be able to lead the practice and participation of obese children and decrease the degree of obesity.

Development of Web-based Nursing Education Program for Ostomy Care (장루 관리를 위한 Web 기반 간호교육 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a Web-based Nursing Education & Instruction Program to help the clinical nurses improving their knowledge and skills of ostomy care. This program was developed in three different steps: analysis. design. and development. The results of the study were as follows: The analysis step was designed to select the study contents for effective and easy educationthrough the analyses of specialized books. This surveyed and analyzed study contents were categorized into five different sections. Introduction. ostomy classification. ostomy management. elimination management. and life style. After that each section describes necessary information of each category. In the design step. the image files used in this program were created using Adobe Photoshop 6.0. and HTML files were designed and developed using Namo Editor 5.0. In the development step. the developed program was published into Web using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and then finalized after trial operation for testing of real users. In addition. this Web-based Nursing Education & Instruction Program will be used as excellentand effective tool for continuous and lifelong education in nursingfield. In this study. computer-aided education program was developed for ostomy management and managed at the Web-Server (http://hshong.knu.ac.kr/ostomy) in order to help nurses real-time education in clinical field by this program.

Development and Evaluation of a Web-based Support Program for the Maternal Role of Primiparas (초산모의 어머니 역할에 대한 웹기반 지지중재 프로그램 개발 및 평가)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and evaluate a Web-based program for the maternal role of primiparas who use the internet. Method: The study process was a systems requirements analysis, design and development of a program, program testing by experts, program implementation, and program evaluation by users. A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used. The data was collected from October 5th, 2002 to February 24th, 2003. Result: 1. Based on inquiries into mothers' needs, a Web-based support program was developed. The program was then modified from feedback received from experts. 2. In a sub-scale analysis of mothers' perception of a baby, amenability and persistence was significantly higher in the intervention group. The differences in the mean score of maternal self-confidence and maternal satisfaction were significant. 3. Cyber counseling was done for a total of 73 cases and the most frequent problems for counseling were feeding and nutrition (28.8%), followed by baby care, and health problems. Conclusion: It was proven that a Web-based support program provided appropriate support to primiparas and was effective in promoting their maternal role. Therefore, this study suggests that a Web-based support program for primiparas can become a powerful nursing intervention on virtually all mother and infant health concerns.

  • This study intends to develop web-based information literacy program, analyze learning effects and to suggest a model case to those who wants to develop a web-based information literacy program in the future. For this purpose, we analyze undergraduate students' needs, design and develop a web-based information literacy program, and analyze the practical effects of the web-based information literacy program. As a result of research, we found out that both web-based and face-to-face information literacy program are similarly effective in learning and satisfactory to students.

  • The paper is design and implementation of the system to support security communication between a Web Browser and a CGI program by a Web Server using PKI(Public Key Infrastructure. This system uses GSS(Generic Security Service)-API to communicate with PKI, offers a Web user a Client Proxy, and offers a CGI developer there library functions related with security. TLS(Transport Layer Security) supports security communication between a Web Browser and a Web Server, but the system supports security communication between a Web Browser and a CGI program as the protected data received from a Client Proxy are sent to a CGI program, and the CGI program decrypts the data using the library functions supported by this system.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners, and to evaluate the validity of the developed program. Methods: A web-based sexual health program was developed and evaluated: analysis (needs assessment on 23 patients and content analysis through literature review and web search), design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Results: The web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners was structured with sexual life, sexual response cycle, change of sexual function, sexual dysfunction related to treatment, and useful method for sexual dysfunction. This program included a video to improve for understanding and a bulletin board to promote bi-directional interactions between program users and providers. Experts and users rated this program in terms of efficacy, convenience, design, relevance, and usefulness. This program contents were found appropriate and satisfactory to both experts and users. Conclusion: This web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners would contribute to sexual health promotion for gynecologic cancer women and their partners.

  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented using embedded Linux. The external equipment is controlled via HTTP protocol and web browser program. HTTP protocol is ported into Linux. A micro web server program and external equipment control program are installed on-board memory using CGI to be accessed by web browser. Experimental result of the proposed web based monitoring systems can be used in automation systems and remote distributed control via internet using web browser.

  • This paper discusses the development of an educational web-based power flow program for undergraduate students. The interaction between lectures and users can be much enhanced via the web-based programs which result in the student's learning effectiveness on the power flow problem. However the difficulties for developing web-based application programs are that there can be the numerous unspecified users to access the application programs. To overcome the aforementioned multi-users problem and to develope the educational web-based power flow program, we have revised the system architecture, the modeling of application programs, and database which efficiently and effectively manages the complex data sets related to the power flow analysis program. The developed application program is composed of the physical three tiers where the middle tier is logically divided into two kinds of application programs. The divided application programs are interconnected by using the Web-service based on XML (Extended Markup Technology) and HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) which make it possible the distributed computing technology Also, this paper describes the method of database modeling to handle effectively when the numerous users change the parameters of the power system to compare the results of the base case.
