Web-based SpecCharts Specification Environment for HW/SW Codesign (HW/SW 통합설계를 위한 웹 기반의 SpecCharts 기술 환경)

  • In this paper, we propose a Web-based HW/SW Codesign Environment with Distributed Architecture (WebCEDA), then design and implement SpecCharts Specification Environment(ScSE) for specifying systems in WebCEDA. WebCEDA has 3-tier client/server architecture than can remedy disadvantages of existing codesign tools, such as platform dependency, difficulty of extension, absence of collaboraton environment. ScSE includes web interface, SpecCharts editor, HW/SW codesin application sever and SpecCharts translator. To verify the operation of ScSE, we specify several example system using SpecCharts editor, then translate it to VHDL using SpecCharts translator and simulate the translated VHDL codes on synopsys. As the results, we know that ScSE has correct operations, also obtain the following advantages, the reduction in system complexity and the natural abstract design.

E-marketing of Web design for Residential Furniture Company (주거용 가구 회사 웹디자인의 e-마케팅 연구)

  • In this study, web-sites of home furniture business in Korea have been investigated to understand the conditions for the activation of e-marketing activities. Contents of seven businesses that have been selected for the study was analyzed in three aspects: utility, value of entertainment and structure. Result of the study showed that in the aspect of utility, the web-sites were desired to provide customers with more detail and diverse information rather than simply present description and prices of the products for the purpose of promotion. In the aspect of entertainment value, it was found that the information on the web-sites lacked diversity, originality and expertism, thus requiring for an independent contents development in a way that arouse interest in the web-sites. In the aspect of structure, the web-sites were desired to have interface easy to access and with strong absorption force. To sum up, the examined web-sites were required to diversify their standardized contents in a way that reflects identity of the business and meets diverse needs of customers.

  • As information radically increases owing to the proliferation of Internet, users are highly interested in information design that enables them to easily approach the information desired by them and shows the unsystematic information in summarized and recognizable information by rearrangement. In the problem, general users could not easily recognize such information design, because it was not designed on the basis of understanding the situation where users actually contacted, but used the method that visualized based on the result which emphasized the aspect of system. Studying map information retrieval site for improvement of efficiency of information delivery, this research analyzed user interface design problems of map information service through evaluation list acquired by investigating user interface design principle and mutually comparing with information visualization system evaluation standard.

  • The layout includes various functions not only arrangement, connection, division of information but also affordance and information recognition as the important element that determine the whole structure of information. Recently, the layout of web interface design was gradually changing from the concept of the original Z-layout to F-layout, whereas, it is being changed again into the split layout as the transform of Z-layout. However, there can be lack of grounds as to the reason of the change of layout. Therefore, it needs to study on how the functional difference between the F-layout and Z-layout affects user experience. In this study, we conduct the study on the effect of each layout type on the user experience focusing on the product description of web-page by user test. The user test have shown that the user has better feeling on the split layout based on the Z-layout than F-layout. The Z-layout also has more advantages on the formation of the favorable attitude of user in efficiency, accessibility and concentration. This result is consistent with the trend of web-design to change into the split layout based on the Z-layout and we provided the objective reasons for the effective web-design layout by user test.

  • In this thesis we present the way of visually intuitive interface to the web site users through the comparison of NIN web site with clearly intuitive web site. Improving the web site which has NIN problem to visually intuitive we can achieve web site's visitors who want to buy something got a feeling of graphical excellence and understand web site navigational structure easily through the intuitive navigational design and complete purchasing easily therefore these are to be the basis of the internet business systems goal which is assumed as business success. In a experiment we examine web site's case study and to make an implementation we use flash to solve NIN problem which is improved in a visually intuitive.

  • The fast development of the information technology makes Korea one of the most advanced countries in information communication in the world in a short period of time. However, the gap between the aged and the young has been seriously increased. Those who are less than 10% of the older adults are using the internet at present. It means the elderly has many difficulties in using the internet because of their physical and cognitive differences. The purpose of this study is that the aged can easily achieve and use information by developing a guidelines for the Korean typography in the web interface. A literature search was conducted on the web interface design guidelines for older adults. These guidelines were classified by interface component and the study subjects needed for the Korean internet environment were selected. The subjects are a more comfortably readable typeface according to the sizes, a proper text size of Gulim and Batang, a more comfortably readable leading size, the appropriate letter spacing, the proper line length of body, the suitable size proportion between a title and a body, and a more comfortably readable text alignment. Survey questions were made and these Questions were improved after the pretest. Both online and offline survey programs were written and the aged and the young were tested with these programs. The result of this survey shows that there are satisfaction differences between the aged and the young in the readability and legibility of the web contents. Therefore these universal guidelines to be used in the Korean typographical environment for the future aged population were specified. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the universal web interface where the older adults can easily use and acquire information.

  • WebME is an Web-based integrated modeling environment that implements a multi-facetted modeling approach to mathematical model representation and management. Key features of WebME include the following: (i) sharing of modeling knowledge on the Web, (ii) a user-friendly interface for creating, maintaining, and solving models, (iii) independent management of mathematical models from conceptual models, (iv) object-oriented conceptual blackboard concept, (v) multi-facetted mathematical modeling modeling, and (vi) declarative representation of mathematical knowledge. This paper presents details of design and implementation issues that were encountered in the development of WebME.

  • We have designed embedded web sewer system and ported Linux operating system version 2.4.5 at our system. And then We implemented to control and monitor widely separated hardware and implemented to monitor widely separated image using CMOS image sensor HV7131B. Web server is the Boa web server with General Public License. We designed for this system using of Intel's SA1110 ARM core base processor and connecting input and output device at GPIO port of SA1110. Device driver of General purpose I/O for Embedded Linux OS is designed. And then the application program controlling driver is implemented to use of common gate interface C language. User is available to control and monitor at client PC. This method have benefit to reduce the Expenditure of hardware design and development time against PC base system and have various and capacious application against firmware base system.

Web-based 3D Virtual Experience using Unity and Leap Motion (Unity와 Leap Motion을 이용한 웹 기반 3D 가상품평)

  • In order to realize the virtual prototyping (VP) of digital products, it is important to provide the people involved in product development with the appropriate visualization and interaction of the products, and the vivid simulation of user interface (UI) behaviors in an interactive 3D virtual environment. In this paper, we propose an approach to web-based 3D virtual experience using Unity and Leap Motion. We adopt Unity as an implementation platform which easily and rapidly implements the visualization of the products and the design and simulation of their UI behaviors, and allows remote users to get an easy access to the virtual environment. Additionally, we combine Leap Motion with Unity to embody natural and immersive interaction using the user's hand gesture. Based on the proposed approach, we have developed a testbed system for web-based 3D virtual experience and applied it for the design evaluation of various digital products. Button selection test was done to investigate the quality of the interaction using Leap Motion, and a preliminary user study was also performed to show the usefulness of the proposed approach.

  • As the internet continues to grow, the quantity of information on the Web increases beyond measure. The internet users' abilities and requirements to use information also become varied and complicated. Ontology can describe correct meaning of web resource and relationships between web resources. And it can extract conformable information that a user wants. Accordingly, we need the ontology to represent knowledge. W3C announced OWL(Web Ontology Language), a meaning description technology for such web resources. But, the development of a professional use of tools that can compose and edit effectively is not yet developed adequately. In this paper, we design and implement an Ontology editor which generates and edits OWL documents through intuitional interface, with a OWL parser, a Internal DataModel, and a Serializer.
