  • As information communication technology developed we could monitor temperature, weather, indoor and outdoor status which we need to monitor using various sensors. Even further we could monitor our body such as Sa02 and serologic chemical tests easily at home or office. It is possible though interlocking the house medical instrument with the wireless public data network. Data from sensors can be transmitted to the distant control room and will be essentially applied through wireless public data network. In this study we measured various sensor data for the telemetry in one system. The sensing items are mainly focused on the static and dynamic behaviors of the bridge, building, instruments. The study suggests the transmit system model utilized by the wireless public data network. The suggestion in the study of telemetry system provides movement and preservation. And it will exam various condition in distance or at home.

  • Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) imaging system is independent of solar illumination and weather conditions; however, SAR image is difficult to interpret as compared with optical images. It has been increased interest in multi-sensor fusion technique which can improve the interpretability of $SAR^{\circ\circ}$ images by fusing the spectral information from multispectral(MS) image. In this paper, a multi-sensor fusion method based on high-frequency extraction process using Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and outlier elimination process is proposed, which maintain the spectral content of the original MS image while retaining the spatial detail of the high-resolution SAR image. We used TerraSAR-X which is constructed on the same X-band SAR system as KOMPSAT-5 and KOMPSAT-2 MS image as the test data set to evaluate the proposed method. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method, the fusion result was compared visually and quantitatively with the result obtained using existing fusion algorithms. The evaluation results showed that the proposed image fusion method achieved successful results in the fusion of SAR and MS image compared with the existing fusion algorithms.

  • SAR is an active imaging sensor emitting its own energy source and can be operated in all weather conditions. Thus SAR provides data which can not be obtained by an optical sensor. In this study, the potentials and problems of the techniques for DEM extraction from the SAR imagery were evaluated through theoretical researches and practical experiments. And then the accuracy was tested by RMS error between the digitized map contour and the results from this experiment. Here, two types of DEM extraction method were evaluated. One was an analytical photogrammetric technique, and the other was a SAR interferometric processing. From the experiment, we found that the photogrammetric technique is currently the most suitable method considering topographic conditions of Korea. In the SAR interferometry technique, we also conclude that the problems caused by decorrelations due to the temporal reasons and due to the scattering effects from vegetation should be solved.

  • Wireless technology has enabled farmers monitor and control protected production environment more efficiently. Utilization of USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) devices also brought benefits due to reduced wiring and central data handling requirements. However, wireless communication loses signal under unfavorable conditions (e.g., blocked signal path, low signal intensity). In this paper, performance of commercial wireless communication devices were evaluated for application to protected crop production. Two different models of wireless communication devices were tested. Sensors used in the study were weather units installed outside and top of a greenhouse (wind velocity and direction, precipitation, temperature and humidity), inside ambient condition units (temperature, humidity, $CO_2$, and light intensity), and irrigation status units (irrigation flow and pressure, and soil water content). Performance of wireless communication was evaluated with and without crop. For a 2.4 GHz device, communication distance was decreased by about 10% when crops were present between the transmitting and receiving antennas installed on the ground, and the best performance was obtained when the antennas were installed 2 m above the crop canopy. When tested in a greenhouse, center of a greenhouse was chosen as the location of receiving antenna. The results would provide information useful for implementation of wireless environment monitoring system for protected crop production using USN devices.

  • Buoy has different motion characteristics depends on the sea weather situations. The motion characteristics has an impact on antenna, solar power generation system and etc. installed within a buoy. Therefore, it is important to analyse motion characteristics for management and analyse the buoy conditions. This paper's Buoy motion monitoring system uses gyro sensor to detect motions of a light buoy, and the measured data transfers to the PC on the shore using signal processing algorithm. The aim of this research is to develop monitoring and management mechanism of a buoy by applying motion monitoring system. In this paper, the operation characteristic of movement monitoring system is verified through experiment. Further, in this paper, it can apply such as real-time visibility into the status of the buoy or many ocean facility's motion estimation of the future.

  • The horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) analysis is conducted to estimate the site amplification effect and the thickness of the sedimentary layer beneath the measurement site. We investigated the effects of meteorological variations (wind and precipitation rate) and sensor burial depths on HVSR analysis. The HVSR results were unstable when seismographs were exposed on the ground. The HVSR results of ambient noise data measured under strong winds were also unstable. It is recommended to measure the ambient noise at wind speeds of <3 m s-1. Stable HVSR results were obtained when seismographs were buried, regardless of the precipitation rates. The results of this study provide the best observations and optimal weather conditions required to acquire accurate and reliable HVSR results.

  • Recently, NMEA2000 became the de facto standard of the communication protocol for the instrument level network in vessels, and it is anticipated that most of the vessels will be equipped with the sensors and actuators based on this protocol. The conventional serial communication specifications such as RS-232, RS-485, or even NMEA0183 are single-talker/multiple-listener and interconnection among multiple sensors and/or actuators usually results in a bundle of wires. On the other hand, NMEA2000 is a true bus type(multiple-talker/multiple-listener) protocol and theoretically up to 256 instruments can be hot-plugged. With the advent of the protocol, it is necessary to consider a new type of monitoring system for the instruments in vessels: In most traditional serial communication environments, a dedicated monitor or user interface was necessary for each sensor or actuator as it was simply not easy to collect data in a single place. With NMEA2000, the collection of various types of information is simple. An embedded system can be employed to combine, to arrange and to display informations from various types of devices. Assuming that the actuators and sensors on a vessel are interconnected by NMEA2000 standard, we devise a tentative interactive vessel monitoring system in which the following 4 kinds of informations are collected and delivered: the navigation, engine, weather and tanks informations.

  • Recently, The interest about underwater acoustic communication is increase such as marine resources, disaster prevention, weather prediction, and so on. Because the underwater acoustic communication uses a water as media, the underwater acoustic communication has a lot of restrictions. Although the underwater acoustic communication is hard, it is important to consider the security. In this paper, we estimate the performance of cryptographic algorithms(AES, ARIA, and LEA) on a various devices, available in underwater acoustic communication, and analysis the results. This result will be provide effective data confidentiality for underwater communication.

  • Autonomous vehicles require precise knowledge of their position, velocity and orientation in all weather and traffic conditions in any time. And, these information is effectively used for path planning, perception, and control that are key factors for safety of vehicle driving. For this purpose, a high precision GNSS technology is widely adopted in autonomous vehicles as a core localization and navigation method. However, due to the lack of infrastructure as well as cost issue regarding GNSS correction data communication, only a few high precision GNSS technology will be available for future commercial autonomous vehicles. Recently, a high precision GNSS sensor that is based on a Broadcast-RTK system to dramatically reduce network maintenance cost by utilizing the existing broadcasting network is released. In this paper, we present the performance test result of the broadcast-RTK-based commercial high precision GNSS receiver to test the feasibility of the system for autonomous driving in Korea. Massive measurement campaigns covering of Korea region were performed, and the obtained measurements were analyzed in terms of ambiguity fixing rate, integer ambiguity loss recovery, time to retry ambiguity fixing, average correction information update rate as well as accuracy in comparison to other high precision systems.
