In case to look at considering affects of skew angles into the curved bridges, this study mainly focalized to compare and analyze of the influence of skew angles to curved bridges along with analysis of the behavior of entire construction in accordance with changes of skew angles and curvature. With explanation of macroscophic behavior of curved bridges with skew angles through this study, it is mostly to grasp with characteristics and structural weaknesses of skew curved bridges compared with straight skew bridges.

Current database technique offers the possibility to store giant amounts of data, worldwide networks provide the technical base for everybody to access it. However, it is usually very time-consuming or even impossible to find the most relevant information. This article describes the usage of mobile soft-ware agents to query different databases on the Internet, to rate and compress the results and to present them to the user in a consistent form, It contains a general definition of soft-ware agents, a detailed description of the approach and a discussion of its main advantages and weaknesses.

The enhancement of fingerprint image is necessary to improve the performance of fingerprint recognition. The enhancement of fingerprint image with Gabor Filter(GF) is widely used. However GF has the weakness such as long processing time and the sensitivity to ridge frequency. To overcome these weaknesses, we propose a Modified Anisotropic Gaussian Filter(MAGF) which is modified from Anisotropic Filter proposed by S. Greenburg's(SAF). This proposed MAGF can reduce the calculation time of ridge frequency and improve the weakness of sensitivity to ridge frequency. We also explained that MAGF is better than others mathematically and experimentally.

illegal medical advertisement have been on the rise, and false and exaggerated medical advertising are increasing the damage to medical consumers. Therefore it is urgent to take countermeasures about this. Thus, this paper try to analyzes the characteristics of general commercial and other medical advertisements and looks for alternatives that can minimize the damage caused by illegal medical advertisements and institutional weaknesses by analyzing the regulatory trends in medical advertising.

The writer has made efforts to solve the weaknesses of the traditional systems through reconstructing cost information systems by introducing 'logical circuit concept' instead of account. As the new designed systems also allow the basic thought of double entry, they are compatiable with the traditional ones. For this, the writer included both monetary and physical information in the systems, replaced the concept of debit & credit with the concept of inputs & outputs, and changed transfer concept between accounts based on reverse logic into flow concept between unit systems based on proceeding logic.

This paper presents the findings of an experimental study to evaluate retrofit methods which address particular weaknesses that are often found in reinforced concrete structures, especially older structures, namely the lack of the required flexural and shear reinforcement within the columns and the lack of the required shear reinforcement within the joints. Thus, the use of a high-strength fiber jacket for cases of post-earthquake and pre-earthquake retrofitting of columns and beam-column joints was investigated experimentally. In this paper, the effectiveness of the two jacket styles was also compared.

Locally available milk mix, coconut meal, cassava root meal, cassava leaf meal, maize, meat meal, fish meal, rice bran, rice polishings, wallow, molasses and coral sand in Fiji were analysed for proximate components, gross energy and mineral contents. The results obtained indicated typical and variable amounts of nutrients in these materials. On the basis of their nutrient contents, the potential usefulness and weaknesses of the various feed materials are discussed with specific reference to the formulations of diets for livestock and poultry in Fiji based on these locally available feed materials.

We have studied the issues of the current math war in America. Traditionalists and the reformers have been arguing about the curriculums, teaching methods, use of calculators, basic skills, and assessment methods in K-12 mathematics. They both have strengths and weaknesses depending on the situation have contributed for the development of mathematics education. Instead of choosing between traditionalists and the reformist sides, we suggest to adopt an eclectic view point i.e., rigor and creativity, memorization and understanding that may seem at odds with each other are quite compatible and mutually reinforcing. Also teacher's deep knowledge in mathematics is extremely important as his/her knowledge in pedagogy.

A cervical radiculopathy is the most common symptom of cervical degenerative disease and its natural course is generally favorable. With a precise diagnosis using appropriate tools, the majority of patients will respond well to conservative treatment. Cervical radiculopathy with persistent radicular pain after conservative treatment and progressive or profound motor weakness may require surgery. Options for surgical management are extensive. Each technique has strengths and weaknesses, so the choice will depend on the patient's clinical profile and the surgeon's judgment.

Chaining 알고리즘은 주어진 match 정보로부터 좋은 match 조합을 찾아내는 일종의 alignment 알고리즘으로 유전체 서열을 비교하는데 다양하게 응용되고 있다. 특히 서열 전체를 비교하는 대신 부분 서열을 비교할 때 사용할 수 있는 local chaining 알고리즘이 제안되었는데 본 논문은 이 기본적인 알고리즘이 Smith-waterman 알고리즘과 유사하며 따라서 비슷한 단점을 가지고 있음을 지적한다. 그리고 이를 해결하기 위해 X-drop과 정규화 된 정수를 고려하는 두 가지 기법을 적용하고 실험을 통해 개선 효과를 보인다.
