Bayesian Value of Information Analysis with Linear, Exponential, Power Law Failure Models for Aging Chronic Diseases

  • The effective management of uncertainty is one of the most fundamental problems in medical decision making. According to the literatures review, most medical decision models rely on point estimates for input parameters. However, it is natural that they should be interested in the relationship between changes in those values and subsequent changes in model output. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the ranges of numerical values for which each option will be most efficient with respect to the input parameters. The Nonhomogeneous Poisson Process(NHPP) was used for describing the behavior of aging chronic diseases. Three kind of failure models (linear, exponential, and power law) were considered, and each of these failure models was studied under the assumptions of unknown scale factor and known aging rate, known scale factor and unknown aging rate, and unknown scale factor and unknown aging rate, respectively. In addition, this study illustrated developed method with an analysis of data from a trial of immunotherapy in the treatment of chronic Granulomatous disease. Finally, the proposed design of Bayesian value of information analysis facilitates the effective use of the computing capability of computers and provides a systematic way to integrate the expert's opinions and the sampling information which will furnish decision makers with valuable support for quality medical decision making.

Development and Distribution of Risk Governance Framework in Terms of Socially Viable Solutions

  • This paper aims to explore the risk governance framework and socially viable solutions, attempting to provide guidance for the decision making process. The key idea of this study start with overcoming the limitations of IRGC risk governance framework, which mainly focuses on a comprehensive framework for risk governance. This article has employed SWOT analysis as a methodology, which is a strategic planning technique used to help identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to business competition or risk management. In this paper, socially viable solutions as an alternative plan place emphasis on the adoption of concern assessment through a concerns table. It is also proposed that scoping has to get introduced, with SWOT analysis in the process. The results of this paper support that multiple stakeholders have to participate in the process of identifying and framing risk and communicating with each other, considering the context. It should be noted that communities can become involved and take important parts in decision making process in various ways. It is recommended that engaging stakeholders to both risk assessment and risk management is material to dealing with risk in a socially viable way. It also implies that the community-based disaster management should be better prepared for the decision making process in socially viable solutions.

  • 건축설계자들의 디자인 결정을 보조하고 설계자료들을 지원하기 위한 총합건축설계 지원시스템을 개발하기 위한 연구과정으로 선행연구에서 제안된 Fuzzy System을 토대로한 디자인 결정모델의 문제점들을 본 논문에서 보완하고자 한다. 특히, 공조설계자의 공조방식 결정과정에서 중요한 부분이라 할 수 있는 관련 설계요소들에 대한 특성과 영향정도를 논리적으로 결정과정에 반영 할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 이를 위해서 의사결정방법의 하나인 AHP(Analystic Hierarchy Process)를 적정 디자인 값을 추론하는 과정에 적용하여 공조설계자의 공조방식 결정과정에 반영한 모델을 설정하였다

의사결정나무를 이용한 온라인 자동차 보험 고객 이탈 예측과 전략적 시사점 (Customer Churning Forecasting and Strategic Implication in Online Auto Insurance using Decision Tree Algorithms)

  • 본 연구에서는 온라인 자동차보험 고객 이탈 예측에 있어 의사결정나무를 적용하였다. 우리는 본 연구에서 2003년과 2004년 사이에 온라인 자동차 보험을 계약한 고객의 데이터를 이용하여 의사결정나무를 이용해 고객이탈을 예측하였다. 우리는 C5.0 알고리즘에 기반을 둔 의사결정나무의 예측 결과에 대한 비교를 위해 다변량판별분석과 로짓분석을 이용하였다. 분석결과 의사결정나무 알고리즘은 다른 기법보다 예측성과가 매우 뛰어난 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 실증분석 결과는 온라인 자동차 보험에 있어서 마케팅전략 수립에 유용한 가이드라인을 제공해 줄 것이다.

치위생 전공 학생들의 셀프리더십과 진로결정 자기효능감이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향 (The influence of self-leadership and career decision self-efficacy of dental hygiene students on career preparation behavior)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to facilitate improvements in career preparation behavior and career development of dental hygiene students by investigating the effects of self-leadership and career decision self-efficacy on the career preparation behavior of dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 190 dental hygiene students between August 20 to October 31, 2019. The data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. Independent t-test, one way ANOVA, the Scheffe posthoc test, and the Pearson correlation results were reviewed, and a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results: Self-leadership, career decision self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior were scored 3.29, 3.36, and 2.91 points, respectively. The variables that influenced career preparation behavior were the motion of major select and self-leadership. These factors had 30.5% of variance among dental hygiene students. Conclusions: Institutional support, including counseling and leadership education by professors and students, is needed in schools to improve the career preparation behavior of students majoring in dental hygiene.

  • As the proportion of underground construction increases, the impact of inappropriate selection of a underground construction method for a construction size increases. The purpose of this study is to develop an objective way of selecting an excavation method. There have been several attempts to achieve the same goal using various data mining methods such as the artificial neural network, the support vector machine, and the case-based reasoning. However, they focused only on the selection of a retaining wall construction method out of six types of retaining walls. When we categorized an underground construction work into four groups and added more number of independent variables (i.e., more number of construction methods), the predictability decreased. As an alternative, we developed a decision tree by analyzing 25 earthwork cases with detailed information. We implemented the developed decision tree as a computer-supported program called Dr. underground and are still in the process of validating and revising the decision tree. This study is still in a preliminary stage and will be improved by collecting and analyzing more cases.

  • This paper is concerning the development of multiple neural networks system of problem domains where the complete input space can be decomposed into several different regions, and these are known prior to training neural networks. We will adopt oblique decision tree to represent the divided input space and sel ect an appropriate subnetworks, each of which is trained over a different region of input space. The overall architecture of multiple neural networks system, called the federated architecture, consists of a facilitator, normal subnetworks, and tile networks. The role of a facilitator is to choose the subnetwork that is suitable for the given input data using information obtained from decision tree. However, if input data is close enough to the boundaries of regions, there is a large possibility of selecting the invalid subnetwork due to the incorrect prediction of decision tree. When such a situation is encountered, the facilitator selects a tile network that is trained closely to the boundaries of partitioned input space, instead of a normal subnetwork. In this way, it is possible to reduce the large error of neural networks at zones close to borders of regions. The validation of our approach is examined and verified by applying the federated neural networks system to the configuration design of a midship structure.

인천항의 효율적 선석운영을 위한 실시간 의사결정지원시스템 구축 (Development of Real-Time Decision Support System for the Efficient Berth Operation of Inchon Port)

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a knowledge-based real-time decision support system to support decision makers for efficient berth operation of Inchon Port. In these days the berth operation problems have been many studied. The berth operation rules differ from port to port and the problem is highly dependent on natural geographical and operational environment of port. In Inchon Port the ship’s entrance into port and departure from port is extremely affected status of dock. In this paper we analyzed some effects of dock a specific character of Inchon Port with a real data of ship’s in Inchon Port. And reconstruct a previous expert’s knowledge of berth allocating problem in Inchon Port. Also the mechanism for the efficient berth operation has been studied by repeatedly dispatching in order to obtain a best effect of berth allocation, with real-time updated information for delay at service time of a specific berth and changing of a working-berth. The system is developed with graphic user interface(GUI) concept using user interactive approach. And this system will be provide decision support maker with an efficient and fast way to berth allocating and reduce wastes of time space and manpower in Inchon Port operation.

  • Such effects would be paid off in the right way only when management of the firms perform marketing activities focusing on long term effectiveness, which would drive company profits up and keep them for long. Demands of customers are being changed and varied. In this result with the advantage of mass marketing and database marketing have been drawing attentions from company. To fulfill these demands of customer, they need a concept of eCRM(Web based Customer Relationship Management), and go from selling products and services, or gathering customer requests, up to the phase of solving customer's problem by real time or previous action. With the help of internet, the frequency and speed of the problem solving has improved greatly. For these purposes, we try to determine the most important and most urgent factors in eCRM: utilization by using SN Ratio Decision making, one of the Multi-criteria decision-making methods SN Ratio Decision making is widely used for determining relative magnitude per evaluation item, i. e. priority on problems and is expected to make more systematic and objective evaluations than conventional methods do. Even in the present situation where any general criterion on eCRM dose not exist, utilization of eCRM is expected to be actively continued, which will cause many problems. In this regard, evaluating eCRM counts.

구매의사결정과정에서 판매촉진의 인센티브 효과와 문제점 (The Incentive Effect and Issues of Sales Promotions in Consumer Decision Making)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand and verify the incentives as an important market environment and to help consumers use them effectively, and consequently to improve the consumer welfare. This study examined the representative incentive, the sales promotions which can effect on the consumer decision making process and current issues of them. For the purpose, a coffee specialty store was hypothesized and the subjects were 20∼30 years old, since the sales promotions can be more effective toward the younger consumers making their decisions low-involvement goods and services. The conclusions can be summarized as follows; Consumers understand the advantages and disadvantages of sales promotion very well, and use them rationally and usefully to maximize their satisfaction. the sales promotions act as incentives in the all steps of decision making processes. Generally, consumers prefer to get things at a good price, so in this survey, the discount coupons and the point accumulative membership had more effect than others. Consumers pointed out controversial issues of the sales promotions as follows: the sales promotions could bring about cost rising and unnecessary and/or impulse buying, and stir up speculative motivation. These are common serious problems in the sales promotions. The sales promotions are very useful tools in promoting sales but not fundamental in the long run. Marketers and manufacturers should keep it in mind that the best way to satisfy the consumers is to keep all things in good quality and moderate price.
