3-D Surface Profile Measurement Using An Acousto-optic Tunable Filter Based Spectral Phase Shifting Technique

  • An acousto-optic tunable filter based 3-D micro surface profile measurement using an equally spaced 5 spectral phase shifting is described. The 5-bucket spectral phase shifting method is compared with a Fourier-transform method in the spectral domain. It can provide a fast measurement capability while maintaining high accuracy since it needs only 5 pieces of spectrally phase shifted imaging data and a simple calculation in comparison with the Fourier transform method that requires full wavelength scanning data and relatively complicated computation. The 3-D profile data of micro objects can be obtained in a few seconds with an accuracy of ${\sim}10nm$. The 3-D profile method also has an inherent benefit in terms of being speckle-free in measuring diffuse micro objects by employing an incoherent light source. Those simplicity and practical applicability is expected to have diverse applications in 3-D micro profilometry such as semiconductors and micro-biology.

Optical Properties of Soluble Polythiophene for Flexible Solar Cell

  • Polythiophene-$TiO_2$ composite was synthesized with different molar ratios of thiophene and titaniumisopropoxide ($Ti(OPr)_4$) for flexible solar cell application as a flexible electrode or an active material. The $Ti(OPr)_4$ was stabilized by thiophene. The thiophene was polymerized by ferric chloride catalyst. The synthesized polythiophene exhibited strong UV-visible absorption in the range of the wavelength shorter than 500 nm. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) image of low concentration of $TiO_2$ film showed smooth surface. However, FESEM image of high concentration of $TiO_2$ film exhibited relatively rough surface. Polythiophene concentration dependent strong photoluminescence quenching of surfrhodamine-B was observed.

  • Plastics are classified into 7 types such as PET (PETE), HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS, and Other for separation and recycling. Recently, large corporations advocating ESG management are replacing them with bioplastics. Incineration and landfill of disposal of plastic waste are responsible for air pollution and destruction of the ecosystem. Because it is not easy to accurately classify plastic materials with the naked eye, automated system-based screening studies using various sensor technologies and AI-based software technologies have been conducted. In this paper, NIR scanning devices considering the NIR wavelength characteristics that appear differently for each plastic material and a system that can identify the type of plastic by learning the NIR spectrum data collected through it. The accuracy of plastic material identification was evaluated through a decision tree-based SVM model for multiclass classification on NIR spectral datasets for 8 types of plastic samples including biodegradable plastic.

쿼드러춰 방식에 의한 초음파현미경의 진폭과 위상영상 분석 (The Analysis of Amplitude and Phase Image for Acoustic Microscope Using Quadrature Technique)

  • 본 연구에서는 쿼드러춰 방식의 초음파현미경을 구성하고 미세한 높이변화를 갖는 표면결함에 대한 진폭영상과 위상영상을 복원하여 상대적인 영상 강도의 변화와 영상의 질을 비교 분석하였다. 본 실험에서는 중심주파수가 3㎒인 focused 변환기를 사용하여 초음파현미경을 구성하고 알루미늄 재료를 선택하여 하나는 직경이 2㎜이고 깊이가 100㎛인 원형결함을 갖도록 하였고 다른 하나는 직경이 4㎜이고 깊이가 5㎜인 원형결함을 갖도록 시편을 제작하였으며 이들에 대한 진폭과 위상영상을 복원하였다. 결함 깊이가 100㎛인 원형결함이 존재하는 시편에 대한 라인 스캔(line scan) 결과 상대적인 영상강도의 진폭 변동율은 7%로 미약한 반면에 위상 변동율은 89%로 커다란 변화를 나타내므로 결함에 대해서 위상영상이 우수한 콘트라스트를 보였다. 이에 비하여 결함의 깊이가 5㎜인 시편에 대해서 진폭영상은 위상영상에 비하여 우수한 콘트라스트를 보이므로서 결함 깊이가 한 파장을 기준으로하여 위상영상과 진폭영상은 큰 차이를 나타내었다. 따라서 쿼드러춰 검출방식의 초음파현미경은 진폭만을 검출하는 포락선 검출기에 비해 한 파장보다 작은 높이변화를 갖는 결함의 탐상시 위상영상을 진폭영상의 상호보완적인 관계로 사용하므로서 결함의 미세 높이 변동을 효율적으로 평가 할 수 있다.

무색 투명한 폴리이미드 공중합체 필름 : 열적-기계적 성질, 모폴로지, 및 광학 투명성 (Colorless Copolyimide Films: Thermo-mechanical Properties, Morphology, and Optical Transparency)

  • 폴리아믹산(PAA)의 열 이미드화 반응을 이용해서 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride(6FDA)와 bis[4-(3-aminophenoxy)phenyl]sulfone(BAFS)의 단량체에 2,2-bis[4-(4-amino-phenoxy)phenyl]hexafluoropropane(BAPP)의 다양한 몰 비에 따른 삼불소메틸($CF_3$) 곁가지를 가지는 공중합체 폴리이미드(PI)를 합성하였다. 이 공중합체 PI는 N,N'-dimethylacetamide(DMAc)와 같은 용매에 잘 녹았으며 용액 캐스팅하여 얻은 필름은 유연하고 질긴 성질을 보였다. 공중합체 PI 필름의 열적-기계적 성질, 모폴로지 및 광학 투명도들을 측정하기 위해 시차 주사 열 분석기(DSC)와 열 중량 분석기(TGA), 넓은 각 X-선 회절도(XRD), 주사 전자현미경(SEM), 만능 인장 시험기(UTM) 그리고 자외선-가시광선 흡광도기(UV-Vis. spectrometer) 등을 사용하였다. 얻은 공중합체 PI 필름은 투명하였으며, 각 필름의 cut-off wavelength(${\lambda}_0$)은 $275{\sim}319\;nm$이었고, 노란색 지수(yellow index: YI)는 $3.65{\sim}10.37$의 값을 보여주었다. 공중합체 PI 필름의 열적-기계적 성질들은 BAPP의 몰비가 증가할수록 증가하였지만, 광학적 특성에서는 반대의 결과를 보여주었다.

직류 마그네트론 스퍼터법에 의한 AlNO 복층박막의 제조와 특성 (Properties and Preparation of AlNO Multi-layer Thin Films Using DC Magnetron Sputter Method)

  • AlNO multi-layer thin films on aluminum substrates were prepared by DC reactive magnetron sputtering method. $Al_2O_3$/AlNO(LMVF)/AlNO(HMVF)/Al/substrate of 4 multi-layer has been prepared in an Ar and ($N_2+O_2$) gas mixture, and $Al_2O_3$ of top layer is anti-reflection layer on double AlNO(LMVF)/AlNO(HMVF) layers and Al metal of infrared reflection layer. In this study, the roughness and surface properties of AlNO thin films were estimated by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM). The grain size of AlNO thin films increased with increasing sputtering power. The composition of thin films has been systematically investigated using electron probe microanalysis(EPMA). The optical properties with wavelength spectrum were recorded by UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry at a range of 200~1,500 nm. The absorptance of AlNO films shows the increasing trend with swelling ($N_2+O_2$) gas mixture in HMVF and LMVF deposition. The excellent optical performance showed above 98% of absorptance in visible wavelength region.

RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 제조한 SnS 박막의 구조적 및 광학적 특성 (Structural and Optical Properties of SnS Thin Films Deposited by RF Magnetron Sputtering)

  • SnS thin films with different substrate temperatures ($150 {\sim}300^{\circ}C$) as process parameters were grown on soda-lime glass substrates by RF magnetron sputtering. The effects of substrate temperature on the structural and optical properties of SnS thin films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy (Raman), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and Ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectrophotometer (UV-Vis-NIR). All of the SnS thin films prepared at various substrate temperatures were polycrystalline orthorhombic structures with (111) planes preferentially oriented. The diffraction intensity of the (111) plane and the crystallite size were improved with increasing substrate temperature. The three major peaks (189, 222, $289cm^{-1}$) identified in Raman were exactly the same as the Raman spectra of monocrystalline SnS. From the XRD and Raman results, it was confirmed that all of the SnS thin films were formed into a single SnS phase without impurity phases such as $SnS_2$ and $Sn_2S_3$. In the optical transmittance spectrum, the critical wavelength of the absorption edge shifted to the long wavelength region as the substrate temperature increased. The optical bandgap was 1.67 eV at the substrate temperature of $150^{\circ}C$, 1.57 eV at $200^{\circ}C$, 1.50 eV at $250^{\circ}C$, and 1.44 eV at $300^{\circ}C$.

광파이버 브래그 격자형 무게 센서에 관한 연구 (A Study on n FBG Weight Sensor)

  • 무게 센서를 기본으로 한 광파이버는 무게에 민감한 파이버 브래그 격자를 이용한 구조로 되어있다. FBG 본래의 특성을 이용한 센싱과 광파이버 브래그 격자를 통하여 스트레인 효과를 기본으로 하였다. 무게 레벨의 직접적인 표시는 센싱 물질의 팽창으로 말미암아 브래그 파장의 천이에 의하여 알 수 있다. FBG의 동작은 스트레인과 온도에 매우 민감하게 만들기 위해서 본래의 특성에 의한 것으로 특별한 필터와 같다. 이러한 센싱 원리는 무게를 인가한 것으로 FBG를 통해서 스트레인 효과를 기본으로 한 것이다. 실험 구성은 센서의 무게 응답특성을 초기 연구를 통해 이용하였다. 센서로부터 투과된 신호는 0.4nm의 분해능 대역폭을 가지며 광 스펙트럼분석기를 이용하여 관찰하였다. 본 논문에서는 무게에 따른 광파이버 브래그 격자의 중심 파장이 변화하는 것을 이용하는 동시에 작은 격자 부분에 무게로 영향을 주어 FBG의 스펙트럼 특성과 형태를 나타내었으며, 광파이버의 내구성이 사라졌을 때 파장과 스트레인 변화가 제거됨을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 무게에 의해 광파이버가 파괴되면 물리적인 손상을 입게 된다.

The luminescence properties of Eu3+ or Tb 3+ doped Lu2Gd1Ga2Al3O12 phosphors for X-ray imaging

  • The Tb3+ or Eu3+-doped Lu2Gd1Ga2Al3O12 phosphor were fabricated by funace at 1500 ℃ for 12 h using a solid state reaction. The XRD (X-ray diffraction_Panalytical X'Pert Pro) and FE-SEM (field emission scanning electron microscope) are measured to confirm the crystalline structure and surface morphology of the phosphor. The Tb3+-doped Lu2Gd1Ga2Al3O12 phosphor emits the lights in 470~650 nm wavelength range due to transitions from 5D4 to 7Fj. Therefore, it shows the green region in the CIE chromaticity diagram under both UV and X-rays excitations. The Eu3+-doped Lu2Gd1Ga2Al3O12 phosphor emits the lights in 550~750 nm wavelength range because of 5Di to 7Fj. The emission is confirmed to be in the red region using the CIE chromaticity diagram. The Tb3+ or Eu3+-doped Lu2Gd1Ga2Al3O12 phosphor shows the characteristic f-f transition with a long decay time, which is about several milliseconds. They have the high efficiency of light emission for X-ray because of their high effective Z number (Zeff = 58.5) and density. Therefore, they are very much promising phosphors for X-ray imaging application in medical fields.
