Composites composed of a precipitation harden 2124 alloy matrix reinforced by SiC whiskers, which are fabricated by powder metallugy, are suscepttible to fatigue damage due to the pile-up of moving dislocation and the microcrack initiation along SiC-Al interfaces, especially at the external surfaces of a body. The initial process, such as pile-up of dislocation or microcrack, that corresponds to the stage I during fatigue failure process are too small to be detected and characterized by conventional ultrasonic technique. This paper describes the applicability of an acoustic microscope with Line-Focus-Beam(LFB) lens of 225MHz to evaluate fatigue damage of SiC whiskers reinforced Al alloy. The specimens which were 6.6mm thick, 13mm wide, and 105mm long in the gage section were fatigued in tension-tension under load control. The velocity of leaky surface and leaky pseudosurface acoustic waves are obtained by FFT analysis technique from V(z) curve which is a record of output of piezoelectric transducer. These results are discussed with the change of number of fatigue cycles. The result obtained by acoustic microscope is compared with that by ultrasonic technique generated at 5MHz with conventional surface wave transducers.

A nonlinear sloshing problem is numerically simulated. During excessive sloshing the sloshinginduced impact load can cause a critical damage on the tank structure. A three-dimensional free-surface flow in a tank is formulated in the scope of potential flow theory. The exact nonlinear free-surface condition is satisfied numerically. A finite-element method based on Hamiltons principle is employed as a numerical scheme. The problem is treated as an initial-value problem. The computations are made through an iterative method at each time step. The hydrodynamic loading on the pillar in the tank is computed.

Identification of damage has become an evolving area of research over the last few decades with increasing the need of online health monitoring of the large structures. The visual damage detection can be impractical, expensive and ineffective in case of large structures, e.g., offshore platforms, offshore pipelines, multi-storied buildings and bridges. Damage in a system causes a change in the dynamic properties of the system. The structural damage is typically a local phenomenon, which tends to be captured by higher frequency signals. Most of vibration-based damage detection methods require modal properties that are obtained from measured signals through the system identification techniques. However, the modal properties such as natural frequencies and mode shapes are not such good sensitive indication of structural damage. Identification of damaged jacket type offshore platform members, based on wavelet packet transform is presented in this paper. The jacket platform is excited by simple wave load. Response of actual jacket needs to be measured. Dynamic signals are measured by finite element analysis result. It is assumed that this is actual response of the platform measured in the field. The dynamic signals first decomposed into wavelet packet components. Then eliminating some of the component signals (eliminate approximation component of wavelet packet decomposition), component energies of remained signal (detail components) are calculated and used for damage assessment. This method is called Detail Signal Energy Rate Index (DSERI). The results show that reduced wavelet packet component energies are good candidate indices which are sensitive to structural damage. These component energies can be used for damage assessment including identifying damage occurrence and are applicable for finding damages' location.

The ultimate bending moment of ships is one of the principle strength considered in ship design. Several methods have been proposed to predict the ultimate bending moment and its major part is, in general, predicting the ultimate compressive strength of stiffened panels. In this paper, made is the review on the methods and formulae of predicting the ultimate compressive strength and they are applied to predicting the ultimate bending moment. Safely levels of three bulk carriers have been derived evaluated for two loading conditions, stray, light ship condition and full load condition, and wave bending by Classification Society Rule(ABS, DnV and Lloyd Rule). The present reliability analysis problem is strictly non-linear and the Advanced First-Order Reliability Method has been used. From the results of parametric studies, the methods of predicting the ultimate compressive strength of stiffened panels are compared from the view point of their applicability to the reliability assessment of ships structures. The paper ends wish a brief discussion drawn from the parametric studies and the extension of the study is described.

RPWM(Random Pulse Width Modulation) techniques have been attracting an interest as an excellent reduction method of acoustic noise on the inverter drive system. Using randomly changed switching fre-quency of the inverter, the power spectrum of the electromagnetic acoustic noise can be spread out into the wide-band area. The wide band noise is much more comfortable and less annoying than the narrow-band one. This paper describes an implementationof the triangular carrier frequency modultde RPWM inverter drive system The poweer soedtrum of the noise emittde from the induction motro was measured in the anechoic chamber. The analysis of the sources for the acoustic noise and the effects of the noise reduction are confirmed by the ceasured dpectra of the noise. Real-time RPWM along with the speed control was achieved by high speed DSP(Digital Signal Processor ) TmS320C31, By changing the center frequency and the bandwidth of the carrier, theis real-time RPWM scheme can be used as an efficient switching frequency band acoustic noise reduction method for the inverter system with variant load conditions.

An effect of a spiral turbulent ring, so-called Shchelkin spiral, on a detonation performance was studied experimentally for acetylene and oxygen mixture. A couple of dynamic pressure transducers were used to calculate a detonation wave velocity by a time difference between two pressure peaks. In addition, impulse was measured by a load cell and the impulse was used to analyze the spiral effect on the detonation performance. A CFD analysis was adopted to calculate mass flow rates of the propellants and the minimum filling time. The maximum velocity and pressure were measured at the equivalence ratio of 2.4, and the measured values showed similar trend to C-J conditions calculated from CEA. For the shorter chamber with the short spiral, the maximum detonation velocity was appeared. In contrast, the longer chamber without the spiral showed the maximum thrust performance.

When a submerged floating tunnel is connected to the ground, there is a risk of stress concentration at the shore connection owing to the displacement imbalance caused by low confinement pressures in water and high confinement pressures in the ground. Here, the effects of the boundary condition and stiffness of the joints installed at the shore connection on the behaviors of a submerged floating tunnel and its shore connection were analyzed using a numerical method. The analysis results obtained with fixed and ground boundaries were similar due to the high stiffness of the ground boundary. However, the stability of the shore connection was found to be improved with the ground boundary as a small displacement was allowed at the boundary. The effect of the joint stiffness was evaluated by investigating the dynamic behavior of the submerged floating tunnel, the magnitude of the load acting on the bored tunnel, and the stress distribution at the shore connection. A lower joint stiffness was found to correspond to more effective relief of the stress concentration at the shore connection. However, it was confirmed that joints with low stiffness also increase the submerged floating tunnel displacement and decrease the frequency of the dynamic behavior, causing a risk of increased resonance when wave loads with low frequency are applied. Therefore, it is necessary to derive the optimal joint stiffness that can achieve both stress concentration relief and resonance prevention during the design of shore connections to secure their dynamic stability.

The frequent handover problem and playing ping-pong effects in 5G (5th Generation) ultra-dense networking cannot be effectively resolved by the conventional handover decision methods, which rely on the handover thresholds and measurement reports. For instance, millimetre-wave LANs, broadband remote association techniques, and 5G/6G organizations are instances of group of people yet to come frameworks that request greater security, lower idleness, and dependable principles and correspondence limit. One of the critical parts of 5G and 6G innovation is believed to be successful blockage the board. With further developed help quality, it empowers administrator to run many systems administration recreations on a solitary association. To guarantee load adjusting, forestall network cut disappointment, and give substitute cuts in case of blockage or cut frustration, a modern pursuing choices framework to deal with showing up network information is require. Our goal is to balance the strain on BSs while optimizing the value of the information that is transferred from satellites to BSs. Nevertheless, due to their irregular flight characteristic, some satellites frequently cannot establish a connection with Base Stations (BSs), which further complicates the joint satellite-BS connection and channel allocation. SF redistribution techniques based on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) have been devised, taking into account the randomness of the data received by the terminal. In order to predict the best capacity improvements in the wireless instruments of 5G and 6G IoT networks, a hybrid algorithm for deep learning is being used in this study. To control the level of congestion within a 5G/6G network, the suggested approach is put into effect to a training set. With 0.933 accuracy and 0.067 miss rate, the suggested method produced encouraging results.
The estimation of pile bearing capacity is important since the design details are determined from the result. There are numerous ways of determining the pile design load, but only few of them are chosen in the actual design. According to the recent investigation in Korea, the formulas proposed by Meyerhof based on the SPT N values are most frequently chosen in the design stage. In the study, various static and dynamic formulas have been used in predicting the allowable bearing capacity of a pile. Further, the reliability of these formulas has been verified by comparing the perdicted values with the static and dynamic load test measurements. Also, in most cases, these methods of pile bearing capacity determination do not take the time effect consideration, the actual allowable load as determined from pile load test indicates severe deviation from the design value. The principle results of this study are summarized as follows : As a result of estimate the reliability in criterion of the Davisson method, t was showed that Terzaghi & Peck >Chin>Meyerhof > Modified Meyerhof method was the most reliable method for the prediction of bearing capacity. Comparisons of the various pile-driving formulas showed that Modified Engineering News was the most reliable method. However, a significant error happened between dynamic bearing capacity equation was judged that uncertainty of hammer efficiency, characteristics of variable, time effect etc... was not considered. As a result of considering time effect increased skin friction capacity higher than end bearing capacity. It was found out that it would be possible to increase the skin friction capacity 1.99 times higher than a driving. As a result of considering 7 day's time effect, it was obtained that Engineering news, Modified Engineering News, Hiley, Danish, Gates, CAPWAP(CAse Pile Wave Analysis Program) analysis for relation, repectively, $Q_{u(Restrike)} / Q_{u(EOID)} = 0.98t_{0.1}$ , $0.98t_{0.1}$, $1.17t_{0.1}$, $0.88t_{0.1}$, $0.89t_{0.1}$, $0.97t_{0.1}$.
