The studies of correspondence between novel and nation-state, among which The Rise of the Novel by Ian Watt is supposed to be the first book, have flourished for more than twenty years, encouraged by Benedict Anderson's and Cathy Davidson's works. According to them, the novel should come simultaneously with, or after the foundation of the nation-state, and testify to its production or the emergence of its subject/citizen. This paper questions about these prepositions, trying to introduce a new paradigmatical approach, "between global and transnational historical approach," to first novels in transatlantic areas including England and atlantic coastal areas. In its complex relation to a variety of colonial, post-colonial, and transnational geopolitics, various cultural practices such as history, traveler's tales and epistolary novels can be included in the genre of the novel. The idea of the sexual contract by Carole Pateman is very useful because it helps more clearly understand the nature of relation between men and women in the capitalist reproduction, while the social contract tells about the relation between men as citizens. Unlike Freud in Totem and Taboo, Zilboorg argues that there were primordial and violent scenes such as rape before the first sexual contract. This paper will illuminate that "the rise of the novel" corresponded with the emergence of the sexual contract. In the so-called first novel Pamela, the heroine Pamela was threatened to be violated by Mr. B., and was really even confined in his cottage. Mary Rowlandson's The Captive Narrative shows that her body was confined as an English female captive, and troubled with imaginary rape by Indians which resulted in the unequal sexual contract between her and her puritan community in America. However, Leonora Sansay's Secret History in an alternative communality, which was not a nation-state, was different from both novels mentioned above, in that it shows the possibility of emancipation from their unequal marriage, the sexual contract. Therefore, it can be argued that "between global and transnational historical approach" has a possibility to provide a new vision of global sisterhood and solidarity to recognize globalized women's violence, and free themselves from the unequal sexual contract.

This paper describes the design and development of a high-power transmit receive module(TRM) for mounting on X-band synthetic aperture radar(SAR) of the NEXTSat-2. The TRM generates a high-power pulse signal with a bandwidth of 100 MHz in the target frequency range of X-band and amplifies a low-noise on the received signal. Tx. path of the TRM has output signal level of more than 200 watts (53.01 dB), pulse droop of 0.35 dB, signal strength change of 0.04 dB during transmission signal output, and phase change of 1.7 ˚. Rx. path has noise figure of 3.99 dB and gain of 37.38 ~ 37.46 dB. It was confirmed the TRM satisfies all requirements. The TRM mounted on the NEXTSat-2 flight model(FM) which will be launched using the KSLV-II (Nuri).

In this study, the various process conditions for high-power DC Magnetron Sputtering (DCMS) on the surface roughness of carbon thin films were investigated. The optimal conditions for Si/C coating were 40min for deposition time, which does not deviate from normal plasma, to obtain the maximum deposition rate, and the conditions for the best surface roughness were -16volt bias voltage and 400watt DC power with 1.3x10-3torr chamber pressure. Under these optimal conditions, an excellent carbon thin film with a surface roughness of 1.62nm and a thickness of 724nm was obtained. As a result of XPS analysis, it was confirmed that the GLC structure (sp2 bonding) was more dominant than the DLC structure (sp3 bonding) in the thin film structure of the carbon composite layer formed by DC sputtering. Except in infrequent cases of relatively plasma instability, the lower bias voltage and applied power induces smaller surface roughness value due to the cooling effect and particle densification. For the optimal conditions for Graphite/C composite layer coating, a roughness of 36.3 nm and a thickness of 711 nm was obtained under the same conditions of the optimal process conditions for Si/C coating. This layer showed a immensely low roughness value compared to the roughness of bare graphite of 242 nm which verifies that carbon coating using DC sputtering is highly effective in modifying the surface of graphite molds for glass forming.
The qualities of the grape wines brewed with the varieties of Steuben, Muscat Bailey A, Merlot, Campbell Early and Alden were compared, and studied the mashing methods of the wine with a variety of Muscat Bailey A. and then investigated the aging effects of ultrasonic wave and the baking treatments on the new wines. The results obtained were as follows. 1. Extracts of the new wines brewed with the varieties of Steuben and Alden were 2.55 and 1.88 per cent respectively and the color densities of the wines with Merlot and Alden were 3.5 and 1.05 (optical density) respectively, and the other contents were not significantly different beween varieties. On the Otherhand, the results of sensory test showed that the order of favorite was the wines brewed with Steuben, Muscat Bailey A, Merlot, Campbell Early and Alden. 2. The effect of pasteurization ($55^{\circ}C$, 20 min.) on the inhibition of the growth of undesirable microorganism was appeared almost the same degree as the case of sulfiting (100 ppm), and the pasteurized must was more dense in color but slightly turbid than the case of sulfiting. 3. Glucose syrup was in adequate as a materials for supplemental sugar, and the quality of the new wine further fermented the free-run wine added the alcohol to be a constant alcohol content was almost the same as that of control. 4. Baking at $50^{\circ}C$. for 50 days to t he new wine from 0.45 to 0.65 per cent, and color density was also thicken from 2.8 to 3.17 (O. D). 5. Baking at $40^{\circ}C$. for 50days to the new wine brewed with Muscat Bailey A, increased the ester content of the wine from 0.37 to 0.65 per cent and color density was-also thicken from 3. to 4.2 (O.D). 6. Ultrasonic wave (150 watt, 20Kc) treatment for 10 hours to the new wine brewed with Muscat Bailey A, increased the ester content of the wine from 0.37 to 0.47 per cent.
The use of laser in the treatment of soft tissue minimizes hemorrhage, provides better view of the operating field, and thereby minimizes operating time. Also, there will be far less post-operative swelling, pain and scar formation, and sterilizing effect are shown in some portions of the wound site. All these advantages of laser therapy contribute to its widespread use in the field of medicine and dentistry. Regarding such facts, we used CO2 laser of different watts in gingivectomy for white rats to compare initial healing process. For the control group, the least amount of output in performing gingivectomy(4watts) was offered, and for the experimental group, 6watts was given. Animals were sacrificed on the second, third days, 1 weeks, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks after operation, and their specimens were histologically analyzed. The following results were obtained: 1. Blood clot of small size was observed in both the control and experimental groups after two days, and no more thereafter. 2. In both the control and experimental groups, the inflammation zone size was the greatest after two days, and it decreased gradually to become almost invisble by the second week. The experimental group showed larger size of inflammation zone during second and third days: however, there was no difference after one week. 3. Granulation tissue in both the control and experimental groups showed gradual maturation with time, and by the second week, it was almost replaced by normal connective tissue. By the third week, complete healing pattern was observed. The experimental group showed larger granulation tissue than the control group until the third day, but there was no significant difference after one week. 4. In both the control and experimental groups, gingival epithelialization began on the second day. After one week, regeneration of rete peg and partial formation of junctional epithelium were observed: by the second week, keratinization of oral sulcular epithelium began, and it was completed by the third week.

In this paper, the 3-mode variable gain high power amplifier for a transmitter of INMARSAT-B operating at L-band(1626.5-1646.5 MHz) was developed. This SSPA can amplify 42 dBm in high power mode, 38 dBm in medium power mode and 36 dBm in low power mode for INMARSAT-B. The allowable errol sets +1 dBm as the upper limit and -2 dBm as the lower limit, respectively. To simplify the fabrication process, the whole system is designed by two parts composed of a driving amplifier and a high power amplifier. The HP's MGA-64135 and Motorola's MRF-6401 were used for driving amplifier, and the ERICSSON's PTE-10114 and PTF-10021 for the high power amplifier. The SSPA was fabricated by the RP circuits, the temperature compensation circuits and 3-mode variable gain control circuits and 20 dB parallel coupled-line directional coupler in aluminum housing. In addition, the gain control method was proposed by digital attenuator for 3-mode amplifier. Then il has been experimentally verified that the gain is controlled for single tone signal as well as two tone signals. In this case, the SSPA detects the output power by 20 dB parallel coupled-line directional coupler and phase non-splitter amplifier. The realized SSPA has 41.6 dB, 37.6 dB and 33.2 dB for small signal gain within 20 MHz bandwidth, and the VSWR of input and output port is less than 1.3:1. The minimum value of the 1 dB compression point gets more than 12 dBm for 3-mode variable gain high power amplifier. A typical two tone intermodulation point has 36.5 dBc maximum which is single carrier backed off 3 dB from 1 dB compression point. The maximum output power of 43 dBm was achieved at the 1636.5 MHz. These results reveal a high power of 20 Watt, which was the design target.
In this paper we are trying to explain the effect of temperature on polymer membrane exchange water electrolysis (PEMWE) and polymer membrane exchange fuel cell (PEMFC) simultaneously. A comprehensive studying approach is proposed and applied to a 50Watt PEM fuel cell system in the laboratory. The monitoring process is carried out through wireless LoRa node and gateway network concept. In this experiment, temperature sensor measure the temperature level of electrolyzer, fuel cell stack and $H_2$ storage tank and transmitted the measured value of data to the management control unit (MCU) through the individual node and gateway of each PEMWE and PEMFC. In MCU we can monitor the temperature and its effect on the performance of the fuel cell system and control it to keep the lower heating value to increase the efficiency of the fuel cell system. And we also proposed a mathematical model and operation algorithm for PEMWE and PEMFC. In this model, PEMWE gives higher efficiency at lower heating level where as PEMFC gives higher efficiency at higher heating value. In order to increase the performance of the fuel cell system, we are going to monitor, communicate and control the temperature and pressure of PEMWE and PEMFC by installing these systems in a building of university which is located in the southern part of Korea.

The growing cells of S. aureus were fractionated along the Schmidt-Thannhauser-Schneider's technique into several fractions such as TCA(trichloroacetic acid)-soluble, lipid, nucleic acid, protein and residue fraction. They were also fractionated according to their cellular structure into Sonic-supernatant, SDS(sodium lauryl sulfate)-soluble, Formamide-soluble and Residue fraction. Fractionation was carried out by orderly treatment of the Sonic pellet with 1.0% SDS and hot$(150^{\circ}C)$ formamide, and the pellet was prepared by centrifugation of the cells sonic osillated for 20 minutes at 150 watt. Sonic-supernatant fraction contained a 91.3% of total DNA while other fractions contained less than 9.5%. SDS-soluble fraction showed a high activity of malate dehydrogenase(13.67 unit/mg protein) and which was higher 22.3 times than the activity found from unsoluble fraction. Formamide-soluble fraction prepared from SDS-undoluble pellet by using the hot formamide exhibited a clear action of reducing sugars against the Anthronesulfate, while it exhibited no clear action against the ninhydrin. However, contrastly, the residue remainnning after extraction with formamide exhibited a clear action against ninhydrin and glucosamine was detected form the hydrolysate of residue by paper chromatography. From these results it is considered that the Sonic-supernatant fraction is mainly consisted of plasmic component of the cells. Other fractions, SDS-soluble, Formamide-soluble and Residue, should be consisted of plasma membrane, lipoplysaccharide and peptidoglycan of the cell, respectively.
The standards related to the "Urban Gas Business Act" and the "Safety Control and Business Regulation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act" prescribe the separation distance between gas piping joint excluding welded joints and electric equipments(electric switch, watt meter, breaker, connector, etc). The "Korea Electro technical Regulation" also prescribes the distance between gas piping joints and electric equipments in accordance with the gas related standards. In case of the standards related to the "Urban Gas Business Act", the distance criteria stipulated in the standard of supplying facilities are different from those stipulated in the standard of using facilities. In this study, we have conducted pilot test on the possible ignition distance from the piping joint when LP gas is leaked from the point. We have also examined the adequacy of current standards on the separation distance between gas piping joint and electric equipments. As a result of the tests, we have found that ignition is able to occur at a distance of 30 cm as stipulated in the current standards or more when LP gas is leaked from the joint of the pipe. Therefore, we have made a decision that the criteria for separation distance between gas piping joint and electric equipment specified in the current standards related to the "Urban Gas Business Act" and the "Safety Control and Business Regulation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act" is appropriate.

The fishing lamp is a fishing gear that gathers fish at night. But the cost of oil, which is used to light fishing lamp, has been risen significantly up to 30-40% of total fishing costs. Therefore it is very urgent to develop an energy economical fishing lamp in order to solve the business difficulties of fisheries. Under this background, this research aims at developing a fishing lamp for squid jigging and hairtail angling fishery using the LED, which has excellent energy efficiency and durability. The LED fishing lamp developed can be controlled to fix a fit direction of fish shoal deep because a fishing lamp can be adjustable up and down directions. One unit of fishing lamp has about an 80Watt capacity and the frame of fishing lamp is made of aluminium to emit generated heat of LED to outside. The LED lamp developed was highly durable, only 5.7% of emitting efficiency decreased for 18 months. The illuminance of a unit LED lamp was 2,070lux at 1m and 21lux at 10 m distance, and the intensity of LED lamp system emitted 2,580lux and 400lux at the respective distances. After development of this fishing lamp, 100 units are installed on operating fishing vessels. Experimental results show that energy consumption of squid jigging and hairtail angling was reduced by 40% and 87%, respectively. In conclusion, our methods showed elevated fishing power, compared with traditional fishing method: 37.7% for squid jigging and 24.5% for hairtail angling.
