  • We are required to adequately adjust the distributed contents to each device and users' demands on the network and to obtain authentication of ownership for our information to prevent the illegal usage of our digital information by non-owners. In this paper, we propose scalable digital watermarking of contents within a compression domain based on Orthogonal Forward Wavelet Transforms, and the proposed method focuses on robust watermark algorithms that are not visually recognizable to embedded ownership information. Therefore, it proposes a watermark insertion methods based on spread spectrum techniques and Provides a watermark key. As a result, it not only extracted the contained watermark from the intentionally altered images, but also secured the watermark information extraction from partial images and ensure the decrease of BER (Bit Error Rate) in the images containing watermarks even when more watermark inserted images are transmitted.

  • In this paper, a new approach is proposed for the error detection dedicated to MPEG-4 video coding by using the digital watermarking. In the process of encoding, the proposed scheme abstracts the macroblock features of headers, motion vectors, and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients, which are embedded in the quantized DCT coefficients as the digital watermarks. The decoder performs the accurate error detection through the watermark extraction. Simulation results demonstrate that the error detection ability of the proposed approach can be significantly enhanced, and that digital watermark embedding incurs little degradation to the picture quality.

  • This paper proposes a method which inserts watermark created by secret sharing method and then extracts it from watermarked image for the protection of copyrights of digital images. To do this, after image's DCT transform, once some values created by Key sharing method which used Lagrange interpolation are inserted into a frequency domain, one can recreate original watermark even if only k seeds are extracted among n of inserted seeds ($n{\geq}k$).

  • In this paper, a novel algorithm for digital watermarking is proposed. We use two pattern keys from BCH (15, 7) code and one randomizing key. In the embedding process, optimal watermark coefficients are determined by statistical analysis of the DCT coefficients from the standpoint of HVS. In the detection, watermark coefficients are restored by correlation matching of the possible pattern keys and minimizing the estimation errors. Attacks tested in the experiments ate image enhancement and image compression (JPEG). Performance is evaluated by BER of the logo images and SNR/PSNR of the restored images. Our method has higher performance against JPEG attacks. Analysis for the performance is included.

  • This paper proposes a adaptive video watermarking algorithm according to bitrate and motion vector size in MPEG2 system. The watermark strength in the I-frames is adapted for quantization step size and the strength in the P-B-frames is adapted for quantization step size and motion vector of macroblock to make the watermark more robust against the accompanying degradation due to aggressively compression. A realtime watermark extraction is done directly in the DCT domain during MPEG decoding without full decoding of MPEG video. The experimental simulations show that the video quality results almost invisible difference between the watermarked frames and the original frames and the watermark is resistant to frame dropping, MPEG compression, GoP conversion and low pass filter attacks.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust blind watermarking scheme for high-definition video. In the embedding process, luminance component of each frame is transformed by 2-dimensional fast Fourier transform (2D FFT). A secret key is used to generate a matrix of random numbers for the security of watermark information. The matrix is transformed by inverse steerable pyramid transform (SPT). We embed the watermark into the low and mid-frequency of 2D FFT coefficients with the transformed matrix. In the extraction process, the 2D FFT coefficients of each frame and the transformed matrix are transformed by SPT respectively, to produce two oriented sub-bands. We extract the watermark from each frame by cross-correlating two oriented sub-bands. If a video is degraded by some attacks, the watermarks of frames contain some errors. Thus, we use an ensemble position-based error correcting algorithm to estimate the errors and correct them. The experimental results show that the proposed watermarking algorithm is imperceptible and moreover is robust against various attacks. After embedding 64 bits of watermark into each frame, the average peak signal-to-noise ratio between original frames and embedded frames is 45.7 dB.

  • We proposed 3D mesh watermarking algorithm using CEGI distribution. In the proposed algorithm, we divide a 3D mesh of VRML data into 6 patches using distance measure and embed the same watermark bits into the normal vector direction of meshes that mapped into the cells of each patch that have the large magnitude of complex weight of CEGI. The watermark can be extracted based on the known center point of each patch and order information of cell. In an attacked model by affine transformation, we accomplish the realignment process before the extraction of the watermark. Experiment results exhibited the proposed algorithm is robust by extracting watermark bit for geometrical and topological deformed models.

  • In order to achieve the goal of protecting medical images, some existing watermark techniques for medical image protection mainly focus on improving the invisibility and robustness properties of the method, in order to prevent unnecessary medical disputes. This paper proposes a novel copyright method for medical image protection based on visual secret sharing (VSS) and cellular automata transform (CAT). This method uses the protected medical image feature as well as VSS and a watermark to produce the ownership share image (OSI). The OSI is used for medical image verification and must be registered to a certified authority. In the watermark extraction process, the suspected medical image is used to generate a master share image (MSI). The watermark can be extracted by combining the MSI and the OSI. Different from other traditional methods, the proposed method does not need to modify the medical image in order to protect the copyright of the image. Moreover, the registered OSI used to verify the ownership and its appearance display meaningful information, facilitating image management. Finally, the results of the final experiment can prove the effectiveness of our method.

  • Digital watermarking for digital image authentication and integrity schemes are based on fragile watermarking and can detect any modifications in a watermark embedded image by comparing the embedded watermark with the regenerated watermark. Therefore, the digital watermark for image authentication and integrity should be erased easily when the image is changed by digital image processing, such as scaling or filtering etc. This paper proposes an effective tamper detection scheme for digital images. In the proposed scheme, the original image was divided into many non-overlapping $2{\times}2$ blocks. The digital watermark was divided into two LSB of each block and the image distortion was imperceptible to the human eye. The watermark extraction process can be used to determine if the watermarked image has been tampered. The experimental results successfully revealed the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • With the rapid growth of internet technologies and wide availability of multimedia computing facilities, the enforcement of multimedia copyright protection becomes an important issue. Digital watermarking is viewed as an effective way to deter content users from illegal distributions. In recent years, digital watermarking has been intensively studied to achieve this goal. However, when the watermarked media is transmitted over the channels modeled as the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel, the watermark information is often interfered by the channel noise and produces a large number of errors. So many error-correcting codes have been applied in the digital watermarking system to protect the embedded message from the disturbance of the noise, such as BCH codes, Reef-Solomon (RS) codes and Turbo codes. Recently, low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes were demonstrated as good error correcting codes achieving near Shannon limit performance and outperforming turbo codes nth low decoding complexity. In this paper, in order to mitigate the channel conditions and improve the quality of watermark, we proposed the application of LDPC codes on implementing a fairly robust digital image watermarking system. The implemented watermarking system operates in the spectrum domain where a subset of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) coefficients is modified by the watermark without using original image during watermark extraction. The quality of watermark is evaluated by taking Into account the trade-off between the chip-rate and the rate of LDPC codes. Many simulation results are presented in this paper, these results indicate that the quality of the watermark is improved greatly and the proposed system based on LDPC codes is very robust to attacks.
