보와 습지가 있는 화포천의 수질 영향인자 분석 (Water Quality of a Rural Stream, the Hwapocheon Stream, and Its Analysis of Influence Factors)

  • 본 연구는 화포천 수질 현황을 제시하여 특성을 분석하고 향후 관련연구에 활용할 목적으로 수행되었다. 상류에서는 step-pool 형태의 14개의 보로 인해 하천수가 저류되었고 주거단지 및 농경지를 지나면서 생활하수와 관개용수 등의 오염물 유입이 있었다. 이러한 이유로 정체구역의 하상에서 사상성 남조류인 Oscillatoria 군락이 번무하였으며 하천의 중 하류에서는 고모천(T3), 용덕천(T8)과 같이 N, P가 높은 고농도 지류가 유입되는 등 본류 수질을 악화시켰다. 화포천은 하류로 갈수록 DO가 감소하고 SS가 증가한 것이 특징적이었다. 상관관계 분석결과 긴 체류시간과 SS, COD, $NH_4{^+}$가 화포천에서 중요한 수질인자임을 나타내었다. 또한, 습지에서 하상 유기물 농도가 높고 부착조류가 풍부한 점도 본류 수질에 영향을 줄 것으로 판단되었다. 화포천 수질은 공간적으로 보가 있는 구간에서 농도가 상승하였고 하류의 습지에서는 일정하거나 소폭 감소하였다. 계절적으로는 겨울에 영양염 농도가 높았으나 여름에는 유기물 농도가 높았다. 식물플랑크톤은 6월에 보와 습지 등 정체구간에서 높게 나타난 점을 제외하면 전 구간에서 $40{\mu}g\;chl-{\alpha}/L$ 이하로 나타났다.

회분식 반응 증류에 의한 lactic acid의 분리 특성 (Separation Characteristics of Lactic Acid by Batch Reactive Distillation)

  • 본 논문에서 회분식 반응 증류에 의한 lactic acid의 분리 특성을 연구하였다. 휘발성이 있는 lactate ester의 생성을 위한 lactic acid와 alcholo과의 반응에서, 반응에 의해 생성된 lactate ester의 휘발성이 높을 수록 증류탑으로 들어가는 lactate ester양은 증가하여 재비기에서 얻어진 lactic acid의 회수율은 증가 하였다. 부분응축기의 온도가 감소할수록 재비기로 모이는 lactate ester양은 증가하였고 재비기 내의 수화 반응에 의해 얻어지는 lactic acid의 양은 증가하였다 Lactic acid의 정제를 위한 lactate ester와 물과의 수화 반응은, 비록 증류탑 내에서 lactate ester와 물이 반응을 할 수 있으나, 증류탑 내에서의 체류시간이 짧기 때문에 대부분 재비기에서 이루어진다.

스팀 열처리 방식에 따른 채소류의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Vegetables by Different Steam Treatments)

  • Thermally processed vegetables have long been considered to have lower nutritional values compared to fresh produce. This consideration is based on the fact that ascorbic acid(vitamin C) or other thermolabile compounds may lose their activity due to oxidation or by consequence of leaching into the water during home cooking or industrial processing, such as by blanching. In this study, major agricultural products such as carrots, broccoli, and potatoes were exposed to steam treatments of different types. Then, changes in color and levels of ascorbic acid, carotene, and moisture in the fresh and steam processed vegetable samples were measured and evaluated. The results clearly showed that steam-processing using a natural convection type method was superior to the other treatments in terms of quality, including color and nutrient retention, among all the vegetables tested.

Evaluation of Sodium Alignate as a Fat Replacer on Processing and Shelf-life of Low-fat Ground Pork Patties

  • Low-fat ground pork patties, LFGPP (<10% total fat) formulated with 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 percent sodium alginate (SA) were processed and compositional, processing and sensory characteristics were compared with control patties containing 20% fat. The moisture content of raw and cooked LFGPP were significantly (p<0.05) higher than control patties because of greater amount of added water in the formulation. The cooking yield, moisture and fat retention also increased linearly in different treatments of LFGPP. The dimensional parameters such as gain in height, decrease in diameter and shrinkage were significantly (p<0.05) lower in LFGPP in comparison to control. Amongst the sensory attributes, flavour showed a declining trend with the increase in concentration of SA in LFGPP. However, low-fat patties with 0.1% SA rated similar to high-fat control. The lipid profile revealed 49.78 and 43.22% decrease in total lipids and cholesterol content respectively, compared to control. The calorie content was reduced significantly (p<0.05) in LFGPP. The texture profile of LFGPP with 0.1% SA was similar to that of high-fat control. The LFGPP remained stable without any appreciable loss of physico-chemical, microbiological and organoleptic quality during refrigerated storage ($4{{\pm}}1^{\circ}C$) for 21 and 35 days in aerobic and vacuum packaging respectively.

Flour Quality Characteristics of Korean Waxy Wheat Lines

  • Flour physicochemical properties of six Korean waxy wheat lines and their parental plants, including Kanto 107 and BaiHuo, which have partially null in GBSS (granule bound starch synthase), were evaluated in this study. The very low amylose content (3.20%) of Korean waxy wheat lines, which had been influenced by the null in all three GBSS isoforms encoded by three Wx loci, could result in the higher starch swelling power (25.15%), lower starch and flour pasting temperature (61.37$^{\circ}C$; 65.85$^{\circ}C$), and higher starch pasting peak viscosity and breakdown (246.60 RVU; 161.50 RVU) than those of their parental plants. In addition to high swelling and pasting properties, Korean waxy wheat lines had the higher protein content (12.80%), alkaline water retention capacity (97.39%), SDS sedimentation volume (80.33 $m\ell$) and damaged starch content (4.35 %) than those of their parental plants.

식물을 이용한 오수의 고도처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Advanced Treatment of Wastewater by Plants)

  • In recent years increasing production and disposal of wastewater have caused an accelerated eutrophication of receiving waters. Therefore, in order to alleviate the detrimental impact of wastewater discharge, there is an increasing demand for removing the main nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as the organic content of the waste water prior to disposal. This is effectively achieved by extended conventional treatment technology. However, the working expenses and energy requirements of such advanced treatment systems are rather high. So in a sparsely populated rural community is required development of wastewater treatment system combined with the regional characteristics. In this study, the systems are planted with Reeds and Amaryllis In A.C and estimated purification potential of system. The results obtained are as follows. BOD removal rate is 20% in the early stage, the last removal rate is 35% in A.C process and is 65% in Amaryllis+A.C process and is 50% in Reed+A.C process. T-N removal rate by Amaryllis is average 2.6g/$m^3$ㆍd, T-N removal rate by Reed is average 1.76g/$m^3$ㆍd. T-P removal rate by Amaryllis is average 0.27g/$m^3$ㆍd, T-P removal rate by Reed is average 0.25g/$m^3$ㆍd. BOD removal rate constant with retention time is 1.4494(1/d), T-N removal rate constant is 0.5428(1/d), T-P removal rate constant is 0.5287(1/d).

생태학적 측면에서 고찰한 빗물 순환체계와 도시화와의 관계 (The Relationship between circulation of precipitation and urbanization)

  • Since the industrial revolution. the growth of cities has been especially apid and the rate of ulbanization has been high. This urban development is encroaching on the natural environment because the cities are developed with not only residential estates, industrial area and buildings but also with infrastructure. The surface area of the city is sealed ,with pavement whereas nature is disturbed and modified. The hydrological cycle in the city is inf1uenced by the change of land use I. e., from forest to agricultural land, talc draining of wetlands and above all the increase of built-up areas. The surface retention and interception of precipitation in the city is reduced. because the surface area is now smooth and solid. The characteristics of the hydrological cycle in the city are increased runoff, reduced evapotranspiration and infiltraction . We have too much faith in technology although it may cause more unforseen problems. We build more river banks and 'emulation dams and straighten rivers and streams in order to protect ourselves from disasters.. However. the results of hose developments are often higher$.$ water levels, the disturbance of aquatic ecosystems and the reduction of biodiversity. Therefore, we should examine problems from the hydrological cycle in cities and study a natural system as close cities to nature as possible. This paper shows the problems caused by the hydrological cycle in the city. The ecology-oriented method and design must be used in order to protect our environment from dicturbance.

배기가스로 제조한 PCC를 이용한 친환경 도공지 제조 (Production of Environment-Friendly Coated Paper with PCC Manufactured with Emission Gas)

  • Effects of blending of PCC manufactured with emission gas occurred at mill on the characteristics of coating color, optical and printing properties of coated paper were investigated in order to evaluate the possibility of its use as a raw material for producing environmentally friendly coated paper. Low shear viscosity and water retention value of ground PCC 1(d50 = $6.303{\mu}m$) were higher than those of ground PCC 2(d50 = $3.149{\mu}m$). Ink set properties of ground PCC 1 and ground PCC 2 were inferior to that of PCC 3. Thus, the reducing of particle size was required in order to overcome the inferior ink set properties. Ground PCC 1 had a similar properties to clay, and it showed the possibility that ground PCC 1 could be used to produce matte grade coated papers. However, it was required to improve the stability(particle shape, particle size, and compatibility with chemicals used in coating color formulation) in the case of blending with GCC in order to keep the qualities of coated paper.

Carrageenan에 pectin 및 potato starch를 혼합 첨가하여 제조한 저지방 돈육 patty의 특성연구 (Properties of Low-Fat Pork Patties Formulated with Carrageenan Alone or in Combination with Pectin or Potato Starch)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the quality characteristics of low- fat pork patties containing fat replacers. Carrageenan(CA) in combination with pectin(PE) or potato starch(PO) was added as fat replacers and physicochemical properties were evaluated in low-fat pork patties cooked by oven-roasting or pan-frying. Uncooked and cooked pork patties formulated with fat replacers were higher in moisture and ash content and lower in fat content than those of control. The cooking yield and reduction in diameter of pork patties were significantly improved by the addition of fat replacers(p<0.05). Pork patties formulated with CA had the highest fat retention, while CA+PE had the highest water holding capacity. Hunter s L(lightness) value was not different from among patties and a(redness) and b(yellowness) values were higher in carrageenan-based patties than those of control patties. Hardness was higher in carrageenan-based patties than that of control and cohesiveness and springiness showed no difference among patties. Sensory analysis showed that flavor, juiciness and palatability of carrageenan-based patties were superior to control patties and combined use of CA with PE or PO provided improved acceptability of low-fat pork patties over that from using single carrageenan.

증발법 기반 함수특성을 적용한 태풍 힌남노에 의한 산사태 해석 사례 연구 (Case Study of Landslide Analysis due to Typhoon Hinnamnoh using Water Retention Characteristics based on the Evaporation Method)

  • 산사태 예측을 위하여 불포화토 거동을 고려한 비탈면 안정성 평가를 수행하였다. 태풍 힌남노시 집중강우로 인한 실제 산사태 현장에서 시료를 채취하였다. 팽창성 불교란 시료와 팽창이전 상태에 대한 재성형시료에 대하여 증발법을 기반으로 함수특성시험을 수행하였다. 이러한 수리-역학적 특성을 고려하여 2차원 침투해석 및 안정해석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 두 시료는 해석 결과에서 뚜렷한 차이를 보였으며 팽창성 불교란시료의 거동이 실제 비탈면 파괴를 잘 예측할 수 있었다.
