조립각형 CFT 기둥의 용접크기 결정을 위한 수압실험 및 해석 (Water pressure Test and analysis for Welding Thickness Decision of New Cold-formed Type Concrete Filled Tubular Square Column)

  • 콘크리트 충전강관에 사용되는 강관의 제작법은 재단된 4장의 플레이트를 모서리에서 용접하는 일반강관 제작법과, ㄷ형으로 절곡성형과정을 거쳐 2-Seam으로 용접하는 제작방법, 그리고 원형강관을 압축하여 4각형태로 만드는 방법등이 일반적으로 사용되며, 강관제작에 사용되는 용접방법과 용접량의 선택은 강관 제작비용에 큰 부분을 차지하고 있다. 새로운 제작형식으로 개발된 각형강관은 4장의 플레이트를 ㄱ형으로 절곡성형한 후 강관 폭의 중앙에서 4-Seam Flare 용접하는 방식이다. 본 연구에서는 새로운 제작형식의 CFT 각형 기둥에 대하여 용접량 평가를 위한 실험방법을 제시하고, 강관 제작법, 강관두께 및 용접량을 변수로 총 6개의 실험체를 제작하여 구조실험 및 해석을 수행하여 강관내부의 수압에 따른 강관의 거동을 평가하였다.

비소성 준설토의 침강-압밀 거동 특성 (Characteristics of Settling and Consolidation Behavior for Non-Plastic Dredged Soils)

  • A series of column test with a silty marine soil mixed with Jumunjin Standard Sand were performed to investigate the characteristics of settling and consolidation of non-plastic dredged soils. Column tests were carried out by using the separable column to measure the grain size distribution of consolidated layer. Column tests were performed with changing the mixing ratio of Jumunjin Standard Sand to the silty marine soil, initial water content of slurry and initial height of slurry. Height of interface of slurry was monitored during tests and grain size distribution tests were carried out after finishing tests. Influencing factors on the particle segregation, eventually to the characteristics of settling and consolidation of non-plastic soil, were analyzed on the thesis of test results. As results of column tests, the mixing ratio of sand to the silty marine soil and the initial water content of slurry were known to affect the characteristics of settling and consolidation resulted in significant particle segregation of slurry. Initial height of slurry was found not to affect seriously to particle segregation.

  • Recent Engineered nanoparticles were increasingly exposed to environmental system with the wide application and production of nanomaterials, concerns are increasing about their environmental risk to soil and groundwater system. In order to assess the transport behavior of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), a saturated packed column experiments were examined. Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry and a DLS detector was used for concentration and size measurement of AgNPs. The column experiment results showed that solution chemistry had a considerable temporal deposition of AgNPs on the porous media of solid glass beads. In column experiment, comparable mobility improvement of AgNPs were observed by changing solution chemistry conditions from salts (in both NaCl and $CaCl_2$ solutions) to DI conditions, but in much lower ionic strength (IS) with $CaCl_2$. Additionally, the fitted parameters with two-site kinetic attachment model form the experimental breakthrough curves (BTCs) were associated that the retention rates of the AgNPs aggregates were enhanced with increasing IS under both NaCl and $CaCl_2$ solutions.

스톤컬럼 공법의 지내력 증진 효과에 대한 연구 (The Study of Improvement Effect of Ground Settlements and Bearing Capacity by Stone Columns)

  • 스톤컬럼 공법의 침하량 저감과 지지력 증진 효과를 파악하고자 연약한 준설매립 지반에 쇄석재료와 슬래그 재료를 이용하여 시험시공 후 지하수위계측 및 현장시험을 진행하였다. 현장실험 결과, 지지력 증진 및 침하량 저감 효과가 파악되었으며 상재하중 없이도 지하수위는 저하되는 양상을 보였다. 이는 스톤컬럼 공법이 밀도증가 측면과 더불어 액상화 저항에 우수함을 나타낸다. 일반적인 이론식을 이용하여 원지반 및 복합지반에 대한 침하량과 지지력 산정 결과, 스톤컬럼 공법은 2.7~5.7배의 지지력 증진 효과와 2~3.5배의 침하량 저감 효과가 있는 것으로 판단되었다.

  • Activated Rice-Hull carbon was developed to remove ammonia compounds in water matrix. Isotherm adsorption tests of ammonia were conducted using a bottle-point technique and column test. Residual ammonia after Jar-Test or passing through the column was determined by Indophenol method, and assessed the removal efficiency for ammonia of the adsorbent. As a result, the adsorption capacity for ammonia of activated racehull carbon was very larger than that of coconut shell carbon, because the rice hull carbon had the higher BET surface area of silicate. The activated racehull carbon is under the development as adsorbent to remove ammonia in drinking water and waste water.

Experimental and numerical investigation on bearing mechanism and capacity of new concrete plug structures

  • The stability and safety of concrete plug structure of diversion tunnel is crucial for the impoundment of upstream reservoir in hydropower projects. The ongoing Wudongde hydropower plant in China plans to adopt straight column plugs and curved column plugs to replace the traditional expanded wedge-shaped plugs. The performance of the proposed new plug structures under high water head is then a critical issue and attracts the attentions of engineers. This paper firstly studied the joint bearing mechanism of plug and surrounding rock mass and found that the quality and mechanical properties of the interfaces among plug concrete, shotcrete, and surrounding rock mass play a key role in the performance of plug structures. By performing geophysical and mechanical experiments, the contact state and the mechanical parameters of the interfaces were analyzed in detail and provide numerical analysis with rational input parameters. The safety evaluation is carried out through numerical calculation of plug stability under both construction and operation period. The results indicate that the allowable water head acting on columnar plugs is 3.1 to 7.4 times of the designed water head. So the stability of the new plug structure meets the design code requirement. Based on above findings, it is concluded that for the studied project, it is feasible to adopt columnar plugs to replace the traditional expanded wedge-shaped plugs. It is hoped that this study can provide reference for other projects with similar engineering background and problems.

해수교환을 고려한 진동수주형 파력발전구조물에서 불규칙공기흐름에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Simulation of Irregular Airflow in OWC Wave Generation System Considering Sea Water Exchange)

  • 최근, 지구온난화와 대기오염 등에 의해 신재생에너지에 관한 관심이 증가해 왔다. 특히, 가까운 미래에 직면하게 될 화석에너지자원의 고갈문제는 이와 같은 신재생에너지 기술을 가속화 시키고 있다. 다양한 재생가능 에너지자원 중에서 지구의 3/4을 점유하고 있는 해양은 막대한 에너지를 보유하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 항내 수질개선과 파랑에너지의 이용이라는 두 목적을 달성하기 위하여 공기실 내에서 해수면의 상하운동을 공기흐름으로 변환하고, 이를 터빈의 구동력으로 이용하는 파력발전장치인 진동수주형(OWC, Oscillating Water Column) 파력발전시스템을 적용한 해수교환구조물을 제시한다. 또한, 3차원불규칙파수치파동수로에 기초한 3D-NIT(3-Dimensional Numerical Irregular wave Tank)모델을 불규칙파동장에 적용하여 산정된 공기실 내 수위변동의 시간변화로부터 공기흐름속도를 추정하고, 입사주파수스펙트럼의 변화에 따른 공기흐름 주파수스펙트럼의 변화특성, 구조물의 존재여부에 따른 공기실 위치에서 주파수스펙트럼의 변화특성, 구조물에 의한 파랑변형율의 변화특성 및 공기흐름과 유체흐름에 의한 동력 등을 검토한다. 이로부터 공기실 내에서 수위변동 및 공기흐름의 시계열 자료에서 위상차가 존재하며, 유체흐름에 의한 동력이 공기흐름에 의한 동력에 비해 미흡하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • Although oscillating water column type wave energy devices are nearing the stage of commercial exploitation, there is still much to be learnt about many facets of their hydrodynamic performance. The techniques of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are applied to simulate a wave energy conversion device in free surface such as waves. This research uses the commercially available ANSYS CFX computational fluid dynamics flow solver to model a complete oscillating water column system with savonius turbine incorporated at the rear bottom of the OWC chamber in a three dimensional numerical wave tank. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of an average wave condition on the performance and internal flow of a newly developed direct drive turbine (DDT) model for wave energy conversion numerically. The effects of blade angle and front lip shape on the hydrodynamic efficiency are investigated. The results indicated that the developed models are suitable to analyze the water flow characteristics both in the chamber and in the turbine. For the turbine, the numerical results of torque were compared for the all cases. The results of the testing have also illustrated that simple changes to the front wall aperture shape can provide marked improvements in the efficiency of energy capture for OWC type devices.

모형실험장치를 이용한 불포화토의 강우 침투특성 분석 (Analysis of rainfall infiltration characteristics for unsaturated soils using a column test equipment)

  • This study was conducted to characterize on the relationships of rainfall intensity and infiltration rate of rainfall dependent on unit weight change in the gneissic weathered soil by a column test equipment. In this study, volumetric water content and pore water pressure were measured using TDR sensors and tensiometers at regular time intervals. Rainfall conditions including continuous rainfall and repeated rainfall were selected in order to know the effect of antecedent rainfall. In the condition of rainfall intensity 20mm/h and the unit weights of soil as $1.35g/cm^3$, $1.55g/cm^3$ and $1.61g/cm^3$, average rainfall infiltration rate was $2.814{\times}10^{-3}cm/sec$, $1.969{\times}10^{-3}cm/sec$ and $1.252{\times}10^{-3}cm/sec$ respectively. The higher rainfall intensity and lower unit weight of soil, the faster average infiltration rate. Overflow in the column was happened except rainfall condition of rainfall intensity 20mm and soil unit weight $1.35g/cm^3$. Increasing the soil unit weight, overflowed water was increased and occurrence time was faster.

이온교환법에 의한 탈질소 공정개발의 기초연구(II) (Basic Study for Development of Denitrogenation Process by ion Exchange(II))

  • Ion exchange performance to remove nitrate in water was studied using commercially available strong base anion exchange resin of Cl- type in the batch and continuous column reactors. The performance was tested using the effluent concentration histories for continuous column or equilibrium conquilibrium between resin and solution. Anion exchange resin used in this study was more effective than activated carbon or zeolite for nitrate removal. With large resin amount or low initial concentration, nitrate removal characteristics for a typical gel-type resin was Increased. On considering the relation between the breakthrough capacity and nitrate concentration of the influent, the use of anion exchange resin were suitable for the hi선or order water treatment. The nitrate removal of above 90% could be possible until the effluent of above 650 BV was passed to the column. Thus, the commercially available strong base anion exchange resin of $Cl^-$ type used in thins study could be effectively used as economic material for treatment of the groundwater. The breakthrough curves showed the sequence of resin selectivity as $SO_4^{2-}$ > $NO_3$ > $NO^{2-}$ > $HCO_3^-$. The results of this study could be scaled up and used as a design tool for the water purification system of the real groundwater and surface water treatment processes.
