  • Most of people still use the bus, which is one of transportation. But the space of cauch station where the passengers wait for the bus is still not enough for them in effect. Therefore, the space is analyzed through looking into the behaviors occurred in the waiting space .So, this paper defines the a primary factor affecting environmental from the existing environment and experience behaviors occurred in the existing environment, and suggests design guideline based on data and information from the result when redesigning.

  • This paper proposes an efficient dynamic routing algorithm for Multistage Bus Networks(MBN's) in distributed shared memory environment. Our algorithm utilizes extra paths available on MBN and determines routing paths adaptively according to switch traffic in order to distribute traffic among switches. Precisely, a packet is transmitted to the next switch on an extra path having a lighter traffic. As a consequence the proposed algorithm reduces the mean response time and the average number of waiting tasks. The results of simulations, carried out with varying numbers of processors and varying switch sizes, show that the proposed algorithm improves the mean response time by 9% and the average number of waiting tasks by 21.6%, compared to the existing routing algorithms which do not consider extra paths on MBN.

  • Recently, it is not too much to say that the world of hospital architecture in Korea is in a time of transition that undergo big changes. Each hospital .pursues their transformation not only for patiences' changing demands on medical services but to cope with rapid environmental changes that pouring like boundless competition, opening tendency and to get an advantage of competition to attract patiences with other hospitals. It is because national expectations and standards on medical services have risen and they are not satisfied with hospitals that run for doctors and medical care that served technically any more. With rising interests in health, it is emphasized not the functions of hospitals to prevent diseases but the purpose of treatment and securing other facilities according to rising economical incomes except medical facilities.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the utilization of the interior environment in hotel lobby and to grasp the requests of visitors. The significance of the study is to illustrate the present characters of hotel lobby and to offer the basic data for future hotel projects. The materials for this study has been collected through questionnaires garnered from six deluxe hotels in Cheju, and statistically analyzed by the semantic differential scale of L. E. Osgood. The conclusion of this study as follows . 1) Hotel lobby is used as waiting space for a short time and frequent use is four times a day. The lobby is used by the quest for meeting , waiting as a resting place while it serves as the visitor's meeting and resting place. 2) The user prefers the lobby's open space. It is desirable for the area of activity of a quests and visitors to have separate entrances. The space composition of the lobby is centrally located between the room and subsidiary equipment. The hotel lobby has needed of a method which promotes lobby image through a magnificent view of the outside.

  • Bus station is a public space which many people use and various activities are occurred in urban life. Main activities are waiting for departure or passengers with the feelings of joys and sorrows. Also sound information including announcing message of arrival and departure are to be considered carefully. Considering these roles of bus station, creating acoustic amenity is a prerequisite to the spaces. In this study, the spaces of bus station were classified into 4 spaces such as approaching path, waiting palace, departure and arrival platform. Observation survey was conducted to extract various activities in the view point of sound in each space. And subjective response was analyzed before and after introducing prepared sounds.

  • The purpose of this design is to find out the design for an ophthalmic hospital focusing on the patient needs and changed healthcare environment. A cellularized hospital system appears variety design. This space needs well-balanced and ease of mind, because of ophthalmic needs a clear description attention. The concept of this design is to give human colour intellect and rich colour-sense. The waiting area wall is finished the graphic design sheet of leaves, which is covered with the fluting glass and indirect lighting. The colour is extracted in nature. The colour techniques of graphic design is gradation, the colour plan select from Y to G-GB. The material is selected within natural colour. The treatment area is functional space and the waiting area is sensitivity space. The hospital design must change with user as a leader.

  • The round robin algorithm is regarded as one of the most efficient and effective CPU scheduling techniques in computing. It centres on the processing time required for a CPU to execute available jobs. Although there are other CPU scheduling algorithms based on processing time which use different criteria, the round robin algorithm has gained much popularity due to its optimal time-shared environment. The effectiveness of this algorithm depends strongly on the choice of time quantum. This paper presents a new effective round robin CPU scheduling algorithm. The effectiveness here lies in the fact that the proposed algorithm depends on a dynamically allocated time quantum in each round. Its performance is compared with both traditional and enhanced round robin algorithms, and the findings demonstrate an improved performance in terms of average waiting time, average turnaround time and context switching.

  • This study examined the effect of waiting in a service queue on the evaluation of service quality focused on its overall process, mediators and moderators The conceptual model of this paper integrates key variables derived from previous studies of consumer waiting behavior. Data obtained from actual customers in service queue at a hospital was used to test the theoretical framework. First, results from the path analysis confirm that negative affect and acceptability of the wait function as mediators in the process that the perceived duration of the wait affects customer's evaluation of overall service quality. Second, the analysis of the data, with the use of moderate regression shows that disconfirmation of wait time expectations, transaction importance, stability of wait time and wait environment work as moderate variables for the relationship between perceived duration of wait and negative affect. For the relationship between perceived wait time and acceptability of the wait, on the other hand, only transaction import ante shows a significant effect as a moderator.
