This study investigated the job stress and job satisfaction of caregivers who work to substitute the care of family. The purpose was to improve the quality of elderly welfare services and maintain a healthy family. Data were collected from 239 caregivers working in long-term care facilities in Gwangyang in Jeonnam in October 2010. They were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program. The statistics used for analysis were correlation and regression. The results of this study are as follows. First, most of the subjects were women in their forties or fifties. Most of them worked to support their families and, on average, earned less than 1.5 million won. The relation of job stress and job satisfaction appeared negative. The stress of relationships, income, and the number of clients had significant effects on job satisfaction. First and foremost, these results mean that a reduction in the job stress of caregivers is essential to provide them. So it is suggested that wage increases and more professional education or interpersonal skills training should be provided and a standardized test to assess job stress and job satisfaction should be prepared to improve the quality of caregivers.
Purpose: This research was done to identify relationships among job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction, and commitment to organization in emergency department nurses. Methods: Research participants were 513 nurses who worked in the emergency department of 17 tertiary centers and 28 secondary hospitals. Data collection for this descriptive correlational study was done from May to July 2010 using self report questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient with the SAS 9.2 program. Results: There were statistically significant differences in organizational commitment according to age, religion, total clinical experience, emergency department experience, current position, frequency of night shift, average sleep hours, wage level, numbers of beds in unit, and reason for working. A positive correlation was found between job stress and fatigue, and between job satisfaction and commitment to organization for the emergency department nurses and a negative correlation between job stress and Job satisfaction, and fatigue and Job satisfaction. Conclusion: Results of this research indicate that job stress in emergency department nurses was the principal variable affecting job satisfaction and commitment to organization along with fatigue. Appropriate stress management strategies based on identification of job stress for these nurses should lead to development of improved management of nursing manpower and a reduction in stress.
In this paper, we discuss the role of allocative efficiency and X-efficiency in determining resource allocation under the share tenency. Economic efficiency of resource allocation is related to land reform. Classical and neoclassical schools insist that land reform must be achieved for agricultural development by more efficient use of inputs. According to them, there is no incentive for tenants to use inputs until $MVP{\ell}=wage$ under the share tenancy. But "equal efficiency" school's conclusions are different. They conclude that there is no productivity differences between owner cultivation and share tenancy, owing to monopoly power of landlords and/or landlords's transaction costs. Considering X-efficiency, the share tenancy is not as efficient as the owner cultivation. On the other hand, the productivity differences may be reverse, in which landlords cultivate their lands by wage contracts. Land reform--reduction of land rent or redistribution of land--will be benefitable not only for agricultural development, but also for resource allocation in farm management.
Recently, Korean health care industry managers are paying more attention to customer oriented service, the rationalization of business administration, and quality control of service to adjust their business to outer environment since IMF bailout program. They are focusing on the cost reduction through remodeling the size and structure of man power, viz. labor flexibility. Nurses are not free from this juncture and contingent nurses are increasing fast. This article intends to verify the actual condition of two types of contingent nurses -part-time nurses and internship nurses-and to compare their job satisfaction to provide basic resource for efficient management of nurse man power. The concrete goals of this article are; Firstly, to verify the actual condition of their employment. Secondly, to compare their job satisfaction. And Thirdly, to the relation between employment condition and job satisfaction. To accomplish these research goals, a statistical survey was executed, in which 384 questionnaires - 66 for manager nurses, 318 for contingent nurses-were given to nurses working at 66 general hospitals-which have at least 100 beds-in Seoul. Among them, 121 questionnaires-of 28 general hospitals-were returned. Then, the data coded and submitted to mean, standard deviation, T-test, variance analysis (ANOVA), correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis with SAS program. The research results of the contingent nurses are followings: 1. Two types of contingent nurses shows similar age spans: they are mostly 21 - 30 years old and unmarried. But internship nurses have high level of educational career. Part - time nurses spread at general beds, out -patient part, intensive care part, operation part, etc, but internship nurses work mostly at general beds. 2. Two groups shows difference in actual employment condition: average employment career of part -time nurses is 7.0 months but internship nurses' is 2.0 months: average duty-on days per month of part - time nurses are 23.7 days but internship nurses' are 24.8 days. But there are little difference in average working time per day: 7.7 hours for part -time nurses and 0 hours for internship nurses. 3. The average wage per month for part -time nurses is 836,026 won but for internship nurses is 557,428 won-66.7% of part-time nurses'. Both groups are enjoying little additional pay. 4. Both groups are getting job not so much through advertisement of newspaper or hospitals as through acquainted person or college. 5. Both groups show very high level of job satisfaction: 3.2195 for part -time nurses and 3.2881 for internship nurses. But they show very low satisfaction on payment level compared with other categories and two groups show meaningful difference(P<.0001). 6. The multiple regression test reveals the factors related with job satisfaction: wage level, working part(OR or ICU), age, job career, and motive of contingent job-taking('because I can take care of family duties at the same time') influence positively: motive of contingent job-taking('because I can work regularly without alternation') influences negatively.

Background: This study aimed to establish a strategy to improve the poor working environment and working conditions among long-term healthcare workers in Korea. Methods: A total of 600 questionnaires with which long-term health care workers participated in the targeted base areas of each city and province nationwide were distributed directly and 525 responses were collected and 506 responses were analyzed. Surveys, on-site field visits, and in-depth interviews were also conducted to understand the working environment as well as conditions and establish a strategy for improving the working environment among long-term healthcare workers to understand the demands of working conditions and working conditions. Results: Korean long-term care workers firstly and mostly enumerated their risk factors for ill-health when lifting or moving elderly recipients directly by hand (69.9%), followed by increased physical workload with old beds, tools, and facilities (42.3%) in the workplaces, shortage of manpower (32%), and source of infection (30%). To improve the working environment as well as conditions, Korean long-term care workers considered improving low-wage structures, ergonomic improvements to solve excessive physical loads, and increasing various bonus payments as well as implementing the salary system, positive social awareness, and increasing resting time. Of 506 responses, 92.3% replied that the long-term care insurance system for the elderly should be developed to expand publicization at the national level. Conclusion: This study proposes to improve the low-wage structure of Korean long-term care workers, automation and improvement of facilities, equipment, and tools to eliminate excessive physical loads (beneficiary elderly lifting), and reduction of night labor.
This study examines the labor market performance of graduates who had student loans. Compared to earlier studies, we extended analyses to all jobs that were experienced for more than 18 months after graduation. First, we found that students who had student loans earned 2.81% less at their first job compared to their counterparts without student loans. Second, the wage gap decreased over time, a reduction of 0.66%p due to labor market turnovers. Third, when we compared cumulated labor income, however, the amount for borrowers were continuously higher. This is because the job searching period of a borrower was shorter, despite relatively lower wages at the first job, and borrowers also made more frequent job turnovers, accompanying relatively more wage increases. These results suggest that the negative effects of college loans on earnings, reported in previous studies, may have exaggerated the negative impact to some extent of having loans. However, when we look at the quality of jobs beyond simply wages, the proportion of borrowers working at large companies as regular workers was consistently low. Given that job conditions at the earlier stages of one's career may lead to gaps over time, our findings call for more systematic investigations into the effects that student loans have on long-term labor performance.
In this study, with the data of Human Capital Corporate Panel(HCCP) we find that the explaining power of the new hiring rate of experienced regular workers is very strong and statistically significant as a main causal factor to the decreasing trend of investment on education and training for workers in corporates, which means a sign of weakening of the internal labor market. Possibility of wage penalty from switching jobs has been weakened considerably too. The effective alternative policy measures to the weakening or laxity of the internal labor markets and whereby followed reduction in investment on education and training for workers in corporates are construction of social system outside of individual corporates to upbring field-tailored manpower of high quality for young generations and small and medium sized enterprises.
To improve the management of dental laboratory through the research on the actual condition, this study posed questions on 36 dental laboratories. The results are as follows : 1. The establishment of dental laboratory in Chunbuk was increased between in 1980 and 1986. Especially it has been more increased since 1989. According to the proportion of population the number of the dental laboratories in Chunbuk was much more than that of other provinces and took the first place in september 1990. 2. The ratio between the unlicensed dental technician and the licensed was 24.83% and 67.11% each . The former must be replaced by the licensed. And the latter ought to try to improve their culture and technique. 3. Overtime payment must be paid for those who work above eight hours. 4. It takes 5 days at a minimum for the production of dental prosthesis with both stability and esthetics. 5. Every Saturday afternoon, Sunday and national holiday must be free. 6. Bonus must be paid 600% a year at a minimum. The system of retirement allowance should be active. All dental technicians ought to be affliated with their labor union and medica insurance. 7. Such dental restoration as porcelain and crown and bridge prosthesis must by increased to a degree between 30% and 50% at a minimum and the reduction system of charge for a dental technique has to be abolished. 8. The general working conditions of dental laboratory, especially pay and working hour must be improved. 9. To advance the service improvement of dental treatment and the banishment of illegal one, the medical insurance of crown and bridge prosthesis must be generally practised. 10. Ill case of the staff cull:lloyulent of dental laboratory, minimem wage system must be observed. 11. Directing dentist system on the ertablisment of dental laboratory must be abelished or wholly improved.
Purpose - The purpose of this study was to propose a win-win development plan for not only suppliers of delivery applications but also traditional market vendor companies and delivery riders by analyzing existing delivery models and presenting a new delivery model to enhance competitiveness of the traditional market using delivery apps. Research desgin, data, and methodology - Specifically, small retailers, such as traditional markets and supermarkets, presented a compromised delivery model that utilizes the platform of specialized delivery app service providers for order reception, and that the delivery is delivered by delivery systems jointly hired by Vendor companies, such as franchising companies. To validate the significance of the trade-off delivery model, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted by those involved in the delivery application. Results - From the perspective of suppliers of specialized delivery applications, it is analyzed that the use of specialized delivery applications in traditional markets will be a new market opportunity for service providers to achieve increased sales. It is expected that consumer choice and satisfaction will be increased as convenience and accessibility of traditional market businesses that were available only through direct visit from the user side of the delivery application will be expanded. From the standpoint of delivery application franchises, it is analyzed that they can seek to increase sales and increase customer service as well as ease labor cost burden due to joint employment of delivery riders. The delivery rider will be able to seek to improve customer service due to job security, wage stability, risk reduction and overheated competition due to direct employment. Conclusion - In conclusion, the compromised delivery model solved the problems raised in the preceding study conducted on delivery application suppliers, users, franchises, and riders to establish that it could be a strategic alternative to increasing sales and expanding detailed rights for the self-employed in the traditional market, which are experiencing difficulties in management. However, the adoption of a compromise delivery model requires social consensus from those involved in the delivery application and requires legal, institutional and policy support, which will require continued follow-up research on the delivery model in the future.
This study was conducted about the various forms of downsizing in small manufacturing firms such as lay-offs, honorary retirement, wage cuts, reduction of assets, merging of organizations with similar functions. Specially the study was conducted among small manufacturing companies to investigate which factors play a role in deciding which method to use. As result, the study found out the form of downsizing varies according to the characteristics of the small manufacturing companies. In other words, it is the size and the growth form of the company which influences the form of downsizing, rather than the management experience of the company. Based on the result of the study, small firms tend to prefer form of downsizing which will have short term or immediate effect, depending on the condition of their organization. Also, this kind of slim down on workforce has positive effect on the management achievement. However, there is also a negative effect on the moral of the members of the organization and the level of concentration in the work field. Therefore, it is better for small manufacturing companies to seek other long term means to increase its' productivity and renovation in management, and avoid method which will have direct effect on the moral of the members.
