The polycrystalline epr spectrum of ${\alpha}-1,\;2-[PV(IV)VW_{10}O_{40}]^{6-}$ doped into host crystals and its solution spectrum are reported. The solution spectrum consists of fifteen lines, indicating that the unpaired electron is hopping fast between the two vanadium atoms. The polycrystalline spectrum, which consists of three sets of fifteen lines, was analyzed as a spectrum of an I = 7 system and the epr parameters were determined. The spectrum cannot be interpreted by assuming that each line appears at the average magnetic field of two hyperfine lines expected for two uncoupled vanadium atoms.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys affected individuals' memory and reasoning faculties, and consequently, their ability to perform the simplest tasks. This study investigated the hub genes of AD. Proteins interact with other proteins and non-protein molecules, and these interactions play an important role in understanding protein function. Computational methods are useful for understanding biological problems, in particular, network analyses of protein-protein interactions. Through a protein network analysis, we identified the following top 10 hub genes associated with AD: PTGER3, C3AR1, NPY, ADCY2, CXCL12, CCR5, MTNR1A, CNR2, GRM2, and CXCL8. Through gene enrichment, it was identified that most gene functions could be classified as integral to the plasma membrane, G-protein coupled receptor activity, and cell communication under gene ontology, as well as involvement in signal transduction pathways. Based on the convergent functional genomics ranking, the prioritized genes were NPY, CXCL12, CCR5, and CNR2.

성장을 멈추고 있는 원시난포(primordial follicle)에서 난포발달이 개시되어 1차난포(primary follicle)로 발달하는 조절기전은 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 이 초기 난포발달 과정에 관여하는 유전자를 알아내기 위해 suppression subtractive hybridization(SSH)을 사용하였다. 생후 1일과 5일째의 생쥐 난소로부터 얻은 cDNA로 forward와 reverse subtraction을 수행하여 각각 day1과 day5-subtracted cDNA library를 얻었다. 이를 cloning한 결과, 357개 clone의 염기 서열을 BLAST와 RIKEN을 이용해 분석하여 27개의 clone은 novel gene으로 330개의 clone은 데이터 베이스와 일치함을 알았다. 이 중에 기능이 알려진 유전자는 day1에서는 42종, day5에서는 47종이 각각 차이 나게 발현하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. Day1-subtracted cDNA library에서는 GDF8, lats2, septin2, wee1등 4개 유전자를, day5-subtracted cDNA library에서는 HSP84, laminin2, MATER, MTi7, PTP 및 wrn등 6개 유전자를 선택하여 LCM-RT-PCR방법으로 실제로 원시난포와 1차난포에서 차이 나게 발현되고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 유전자 발현 양상의 결과는 앞으로 생쥐뿐만 아니라 사람 난소에서 primordial-primary follicle transition에 관여하는 기전을 연구하는데 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Effects of hafnium, boron and zirconium on the ductility of Ni$_3$(Al, Fe) intermetallic compounds were studied using tensile test and SIMS analysis. Ni$_3$(Al, Fe) alloy with 0.1 at.% Hf, 0.05 at.% B and 0.1 at.% Zr additions showed maximum elongations of about 30% at 300K, 10% at 300K and 14% at 473K, respectively. The fracture mode of the alloy without the additive was the mixture of intergranular and transgranular fractures, but the addition of Hf, Zr or B changed the fracture mode to transgranular only. SIMS analysis showed that the beneficial effects of Hf, Zr or B segregation on the grain boundary strength are consistent with the grain boundary cohesion theory.

UTP 케이블은 광범위하게 사용되고 있고, 최근에는 UHF 주파수 밴드를 위한 제품도 개발되고 있다. UTP 케이블의 가장 중요한 성능 중 하나는 NEXT 특성이다. NEXT 특성을 만족하는 UTP 케이블을 제조하기 위해서 적당한 피치의 길이를 선택하는 기술을 연구하였다. 전산모사는 선로 사이의 뮤추얼 인덕턴스와 커패시턴스를 포함한 전송선로 모델을 이용하였고, 주파수는 1 MHz에서 600 MHz까지의 데이터로 나타내었다. Cat. 6 케이블 NEXT의 worst margin은 전산모사와 측정 결과가 잘 일치하였다.

Anterior cruciate ligament tear is a common disease of knee injury. We report 1 case of anterior cruciate ligament complete tear diagnosed by MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) imaging and 1 case after reconstruction. Outcomes were measured by visual analogue scale(VAS) and Lysholm knee scoring scale. We applied acupuncture treatment, bee venom injection, bongchuna and prescribed herbal medication. Patients who treated by oriental medical treatments had a significant effect on the pain decrease and range of motion and knee function. Oriental medical treatments are very useful on pain reduction and prevention of muscle contraction, leading to satisfied rehabilitation, as wee as diminishing recurrence after operation.

The 42 patients with carcinoma of the cervix, performed intracavitary radiotherapy, were analysed the doses at points A and B comparing to the mghr prescription. The doses at points A and B were calculated by PC-12 computer planning system. Correlation coefficienty between doses at points A and B and the mghr prescription are 0.82 (p<0.001) and 0.90 (p<0.001) respectively. The slope of the point A line is 0.70 and the slope of the point B is 0.21. Therefore, the dose at point A is approximately 3/4 the mghr prescription and the dose at point B is approximately 1/4 the mghr precription.

The objective of this study is to develop an optimal joint cost from the perspectives of both the manufacturer and the retailer. The integrated production-inventory model with Weibull distribution deteriorating items is assumed to have a constant demand rate. A limited retailer storage space and multiple delivery per order are considered in this model. A numerical example including the sensitivity analysis is given to validate the results of the production-inventory model.

Samples of feces from 1,080 cattle in Chonnam area were examined for Buxtonella sulcata, Of these, 231 cattle (21.4%) were found to be infected with the ciliate. The incidence was higher in the dairy cattle than in the beef cattle. The cysts of the ciliate are almost spherical or sub-spherical and the mean length of $79.58{\pm}11.76{\mu}m$ corresponds quite closely with the mean width of $77.29{\pm}11.41{\mu}m$. The trophozoite is characterized by the position of the cytostome near the open cytopyge and by the curved groove running down from cytostome to the end of the body. Macronuclei of the cyst and trophozoite were only stained green by MFS solution.
