4WD 차량의 주행 차체진동 개선을 위한 Driveline 최적화 (Optimization of 4WD Driveline for Improvement of Body Vibration in Driving Condition)

  • Generally the noise and vibration characteristics of 4WD vehicle is closely related to the characteristics of driveline such as bending mode, torsional mode, unbalance and nonuniformity of propeller shaft. In this paper the 4WD vehicle which has body vibration problem in high speed driving condition was tested. The sources of the body vibration and its transfer path are investigated by experimental approach. According to the experimental assessment, the body vibration is caused by the nonuniformity of joint of propeller shaft. And this paper presents a kinematic model of a vehicle driveline for the optimization of a driveline characteristics. Finally the optimized result of the drive line has been verified through the experiment.

  • This paper proposes a new type of MR (magentorheological) fluid based suspension system and applies it to military vehicle for vibration control. The suspension system consists of gas spring and MR damper. The nonlinear behavior of spring characteristics is evaluated with respect to the wheel travel and damping force model due to viscosity and yield stress of MR fluid is derived. Subsequently, a military vehicle of 6WD is adopted for the integration of the MR suspension system and its nonlinear dynamic model is establishes by considering vertical, pitch and roll motion. Then, a sky-hook controller associated with semi-active actuating condition is designed to reduce the vibration. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MR suspension system, computer simulation is undertaken showing vibration control performance such as roll angle and pitch angle evaluated under bump and random road profiles.

  • This paper is the experimental study on the vibration reduction of the 4WD vehicle through the change of the engine mounting conditions.(4 stroke diesel engine) The engine mounting conditions are changed to reduce the transmitted vibrations of the engine to the frame at the idle speed. Under the assumption that the Powertrain(Engine Transmission and Transfer Case) is a rigid body, the inertia properties of the powertrain are obtained by experimental modal analysis. And then the changed mounting conditions are studied by the decoupled vibration theory and analytical model of six degree of freedom. Though the mounting conditions are changed to improve the vibration isolation at idle speed, the vibration and the interior noise of the vehicle are reduced significantly at driving speed as well as idle speed. From the indirect endurance test of the front engine mounts, the changed mounting conditions are desirable to endurance as well as vibration reduction of the 4WD vehicle.

Ethanol extract of Allium fistulosum inhibits development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a leading cause of chronic liver disease and is closely associated with metabolic syndrome. In the present study, we observed the effect of ethanol extract of Allium fistulosum (EAF) on NAFLD and have suggested the possibility of using EAF as a natural product for application in the development of a treatment for NAFLD. MATERIALS/METHODS: The preventive effect on hepatic lipid accumulation was estimated by using an oleic acid (OA)-induced NAFLD model in vitro and a Western diet (high-fat high-sucrose; WD)-induced obese mouse model. Animals were divided into three groups (n = 7): normal diet group (ND), WD group, and WD plus 1% EAF group. RESULTS: EAF reduced OA-stimulated lipid accumulation in HepG2 cells in the absence of cellular cytotoxicity and significantly blocked transcriptional activation of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 and fatty acid synthase genes. Subsequently, we investigated these effects in vivo in mice fed either ND or WD in the presence or absence of EAF supplementation. In comparison to the ND controls, the WD-fed mice exhibited increases in body weight, liver weight, epididymal fat weight, and accumulation of fat in hepatocytes, and these effects were significantly attenuated by EAF supplementation. CONCLUSIONS: Allium fistulosum attenuates the development of NAFLD, and EAF elicits anti-lipogenic activity in liver. Therefore, EAF represents a promising candidate for use in the development of novel therapeutic drugs or drug combinations for the prevention and treatment of NAFLD.

차량 모델을 이용한 구동력 제어 시스템 (TCS)의 제어 방법 개발 (Development of a Control Method of Traction Control System Using Vehicle Model)

  • A traction control systems (TCSs) composed of either a wheel slip controller or a throttle valve controller or an integrated controller of both systems are proposed in this study. To validatethe dynamic characteristics of a vehicle and TCS, a full car model that can simulate the responses of both front wheel drive (2WD) and four wheel drive (4WD) vehicle is also developed. The wheel slip controller uses a sliding mode control scheme and the throttle valve is controlled by a PID controller. The results shows that tHe brake TCS and the engine TCS achieve rapid acceleration, and reduce slip angle on slippery road. When a vehicle is cornering and accelerating maneuver with the brake or engine TCS, understeer or oversteer occur, depending on the driving conditions. The integrated TCS prevents most of these problems and improves the stability and controllability of the vehicle.

  • In this study, a simulation tool is developed in order to investigate non steadystate cornering performance of 4WD/4WS vehicles. The 4WD/4WS vehicles are modeled as a 8-th order dynamic system which includes complex non-linear vehicle dynamics and tire models. The vehicle models are constructed into a modulated simulation tool and are utilized for analyzing cornering performance such as combined braking and steering, cornering on the icy read and $\mu$-split braking, The whole analysis is done with the simulation tool which consists of a number of subsystems and offers graphic environment. Simulation results show that this tool is useful and cost-effective in the dynamic analysis of the combustion-engine vehicles as well as electrically driven vehicles.

Schisandrin A in Schisandra chinensis Upregulates the LDL Receptor by Inhibiting PCSK9 Protein Stabilization in Steatotic Model

  • Schisandra chinensis extract (SCE) protects against hypocholesterolemia by inhibiting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 9 (PCSK9) protein stabilization. We hypothesized that the hypocholesterolemic activity of SCE can be attributable to upregulation of the PCSK9 inhibition-associated low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). Male mice were fed a low-fat diet or a Western diet (WD) containing SCE at 1% for 12 weeks. WD increased final body weight and blood LDL cholesterol levels as well as alanine transaminase and aspartate aminotransferase expression. However, SCE supplementation significantly attenuated the increase in blood markers caused by WD. SCE also attenuated WD-mediated increases in hepatic LDLR protein expression in the obese mice. In addition, SCE increased LDLR protein expression and attenuated cellular PCSK9 levels in HepG2 cells supplemented with delipidated serum (DLPS). Non-toxic concentrations of schisandrin A (SA), one of the active components of SCE, significantly increased LDLR expression and tended to decrease PCSK9 protein levels in DLPS-treated HepG2 cells. High levels of SA-mediated PCSK9 attenuation was not attributable to reduced PCSK9 gene expression, but was associated with free PCSK9 protein degradation in this cell model. Our findings show that PCSK9 secretion can be significantly reduced by SA treatment, contributing to reductions in free cholesterol levels.

  • 2000년 2월부터 2001년 2월까지 소백산 천문대 61cm 망원경을 사용하여 CCD측광관측에 의한 ZZ Aur.(B, V & R)의 새로운 광도곡선을 얻었다. 이와 함께 새로운 광도곡선으로 부터 주극심시각 3점과 부극심시각 7점을 얻었다. 새로운 광도곡선을 WD model에 적용하여 이 별의 궤도 요소를 구하였다

  • An application of the KFLOW3D code which has been developed at KAIST is presented. This paper briefly describes the underlying methodology and summarizes the results for the DLR-F6 transport configuration recently presented in the second AIAA CFD Drag Prediction Workshop held in Orlando, FL, June 2003. KFLOW3D is a parallelized Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes solver for multi-block structured grids. For the present computations, 2-equation k-$\omega$ WD+ nonlinear eddy viscosity model is used. The emphasis of the paper is placed on the implementation of the k-$\omega$ WD+ model in the multigrid framework and practicality of KFLOW3D for accurately predicting not only the integrated aerodynamic property such as the drag coefficient but pressure distributions.
