  • 21C, the age of culture, has the effects on the whole aspects in society with its cultural features, and the social changes become the foundation to create the new culture. The W generation, which accounts for Woman, World, Well-being, and Web, etc, leads the trend as 'a new group of powerful consumers' of establishing a new pattern. The W generation prefers psychidelic make-up using pearl through the cyber space, a space for communication like the N generation. In addition, through the Internet, leading the society of fusion or hybrid, with gender and age broken-up, the feminine as well as kidult-like make-up has emerged. On the other hand, with the influence of well-being on the whole society, well-looking appears outside, and lohas inside. The W generation prefers glossy make-up in order to make the skin healthy and polished, and eco-friendly products with lohas.

  • In most EW ES equipment, S/W is developed before H/W development. The important thing is the validity of S/W algorithm should be tested before the integration between H/W and S/W. For S/W-alone test, the digital threat signal generation for the signal analysis system is needed. This paper is proposing the simulated IF signal generation which is similar with the real signal.

  • KEPRI has studied planar type SOFC stacks using anode-supported single cells and kW class co-generation systems for residential power generation. A 1kW class SOFC system consisted of a hot box part, a cold BOP part and a water reservoir. A hot box part contains a SOFC stack made up of 48 single cells and ferritic stainless steel interconnectors, a fuel reformer, a catalytic combustor and heat exchangers. Thermal management and insulation system were especially designed for self-sustainable operation. A cold BOP part was composed of blowers, pumps, a water trap and system control units. When a 1kW class SOFC system was operated at $750^{\circ}C$ with hydrogen after pre-treatment process, the stack power was 1.2kW at 30 A and 1.6kW at 50A. Turning off an electric furnace, the SOFC system was operated using hydrogen and city gas without any external heat source. Under self-sustainable operation conditions, the stack power was about 1.3kW with hydrogen and 1.2kW with city gas respectively. The system also recuperated heat of about 1.1kW by making hot water.

  • Recently there has been an increasing demand for developing a domestic software (S/W) for infrared signature generation to prevent technology leakage and match the domestic operating environment. In this study, we developed a S/W for infrared signature generation and presented its structures and functions for creating and analyzing the IR images of designated spectral bands. The proposed S/W generates IR images of an object through calculations of surface temperatures and IR signals including the self-emitted, surface reflected and path dependent radiances. Moreover, the proposed S/W includes the features of infrared threat analyses from the generated IR images including the infrared contrast radiant intensity (CRI), detection ranges or detection probability analyses, unlike the imported, commercial infrared signature generation S/W.

  • A digital over current relay(OCR) is realized by using TMS320C32 microprocessor. Fourier Transform is used to obtain the phasor of a current signal and a 2nd low pass filter is adopted to prevent aliasing error. H/W test shows almost same results with those of the S/W test. It could be possible that confirm simularity between H/W and S/W test in this paper.

  • This paper deals with a 30kW grid-connected PCS (Power Conversion System) for an Oscillating Water Column (OWC) wave-power generation system. Wave power generation in marine energy is suitable for Korea with the characteristics of a peninsula with three sides facing the sea. In the case of coastal disasters, wave generators can act as a breakwater to reduce damage, and can be integrated with other marine power generation systems to increase efficiency. Wave power generation systems are classified into various types, such as oscillating bodies, OWC, and overtopping according to the operation principle, and they can also be classified into two types according to the installation method: a fixed structure and floating structure. This paper proposes a 30kW grid-connected PCS topology and model for OWC wave power generation that is structurally stable with a turbine and generator that are relatively easy to maintain, and then provide a control method required for grid connection, including DC link voltage control. Simulation verification was performed to verify the proposed PCS.

  • In this paper, the 5kW and 50kW vertical axis wind turbines were studied using the ANSYS flow analysis simulation program. The 5 kW vertical shaft wind turbine has 30 units of the number of main blades and sub-blades and the electrical characteristics were analyzed by changing the tip speed ratio (TSR) from 0.2 to 06. A 50kW vertical axis wind turbine was designed based on the electrical characteristics of a 5kW vertical axis wind turbine. When the tip speed ratio was 0.5, the 5 kW wind power generation showed the maximum output of 9.5 kW and the efficiency of 0.28. The calculation of the power current(Ip) and the power voltage(Ep) show that, as the tip speed ratio increases, the power current(Ip) decreases and the power voltage(Ep) increases. And even if the tip speed ratio was changed, 5kW wind power generation was measured for output of 5 kW or higher. When the tip speed ratio was changed from 0.3 to 0.6, 50 kW wind power generation was output more than 50 kW. When the tip speed ratio of 50kW wind power generation was 0.4, the output was 58.37 [kW] and the efficiency was 0.318, and it was confirmed that the proposed 50kW wind power generation satisfies the design conditions.

  • The economic growth and highly industrialized society have increased the demand for electricity power. As a result, concerns were focused on the energy resource scarcity and global warming. That is why the photovoltaic generation system to address these concerns has been in the spotlight recently. In this thesis, a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system was operated experimentally for the purpose of promoting the spread of the photovoltaic generation system in the future. Also, the effect of the type of array structure has on the performance of the photovoltaic generation system was evaluated quantitatively and by analyzing the comprehensive operating characteristics, the following results were obtained. In the demo system operated for a year, the average irradiation was measured to be 455,076 $[W/m^2]$ and the maximum irradiation to be 626,622 $[W/m^2]$ in May, up 171,546 $[W/m^2]$ or 38[%] compared with the average irradiation. The minimum irradiation was observed to be 294,022$[W/m^2]$ in December, down 161,054 $[W/m^2]$ or 35[%] compared with the average irradiation. The generation power in situation where there is plenty of irradiation was more than the average one, and the generation power in the fixed system amounted to 32[%], the single-axis tracker to 37[%], and the dual-axis tracker to 39[%]. The generation power in situation where there is little irradiation was less than the average one, and the generation power in the dual-axis tracker amounted to 41[%], the single-axis tracker to 40[%], and the fixed system to 36[%].
