Skin entrance dose for digital and film radiography in Korean dental schools

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to compare skin entrance dose of digital radiography with that of film radiography and to show the dose reduction achievement with digital systems at 11 dental schools in Korea. Materials and Methods: Forty six intraoral radiographic systems in 11 dental schools were included in this study. Digital sensors were used in 33 systems and film was used in 13 systems. Researchers and the volunteer visited 11 dental schools in Korea. Researchers asked the radiologic technician (s) at each school to set the exposure parameters and aiming the x-ray tube for the periapical view of the mandibular molar of the volunteer. The skin entrance doses were measured at the same exposure parameters and distance by the technician for each system with a dosimeter (Multi-O-Meter : Unfors instruments, Billdal, Sweden). Results: The median dose was $491.2{\mu}Gy$ for digital radiography and $1,205.0{\mu}Gy$ for film radiography. The skin entrance dose in digital radiography was significantly lower than that of film radiography (p<0.05). Conclusion: Fifty-nine percent skin entrance dose reduction with digital periapical radiography was achieved over the film radiography in Korean dental schools.

대한민국 모병제 전환의 필요성과 도입 방안 (Necessity and Implementation Strategies for Transitioning to All-Volunteer Force in South Korea)

  • 본 연구는 대한민국의 저출산 문제와 사회적 변화로 인한 징병제도의 지속 가능성에 대한 의문을 제기하며, 모병제 전환의 필요성과 도입 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 대한민국은 오랫동안 징병제를 기반으로 국가 안보를유지해왔지만, 병역자원 감소와 첨단 군사 기술 발전 등의 변화에 직면해 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 국내외 모병제사례를 분석하고, 대한민국 병역제도의 현황과 문제점을 진단하였다. 연구 결과, 모병제는 군의 전문성과 효율성을 제고하고, 개인의 선택권을 보장하며, 성별 불균형 해소와 사회적 형평성 증진에 기여할 수 있다는 장점이 있는 것으로나타났다. 또한 모병제 도입을 위해 단계적 로드맵을 제안하였으며, 이를 뒷받침하기 위한 법적 및 제도적 기반 마련의 필요성과 국민적 공감대 형성을 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 특히, 모병제 전환이 국가 경제에 미칠 긍정적 영향과장기적 관점에서의 국방비 절감 가능성도 논의되었다. 본 연구는 한국형 모병제 도입을 위한 구체적인 전략과 정책제언을 통해, 미래 안보환경 변화에 선제적으로 대응하고 지속 가능한 국방태세를 확립하는 데 기여하고자 한다.

대학건물에서 에너지비용 변화에 따른 히트펌프 냉난방시스템에 대한 경제성 분석 (Economic Analysis of Heating and Cooling System Corresponding to the Energy Cost of University Building)

  • This research is to analyze LCC of Heat Pump system in university building by reduction of electric power costs for education and incentive system for gas. Produced details item different expense of EHP and GHP equipment construction step and preservation administration step. Analysis result is as following. 1) Executed LCC analysis for target system after lowering whole curriculum reduction of electric power costs for education. Analysis result, energy cost-cutting effect of EHP appears greatly than GHP unlike existent study finding, EHP decided by economical system. 2) Sensitivity analysis executed by incentive 500,000 won per units and geometrical ration of gas expense by 1%. As a result, because lowering effect of electric charges appears greatly, EHP decided by more economical system than GHP. As research result of front is different from existent study finding, EHP by lowering of electric charges for alteration and education of governmental frequent volunteer system was decided by more economical system than GHP.

소방의 재난대응체계 개선방안에 관한 연구 - 춘천시 신북읍 산사태 대응사례를 중심으로 - (A Study on Improvement of Disaster Response System in the Firefighting Organization - Focused on Landslide Case in Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon-city -)

  • 본 연구는 2011년 7월 27일 00:08경 강원도 춘천시 신북읍 천전리 마적산 산지당골에서 발생한 산사태 재난현장에 출동한 춘천소방서 소방공무원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 소방의 초기 재난대응에 관한 문제점 및 개선방안을 도출하였다. 연구결과, 의용소방대원에 대한 전문교육실시 및 활용방안 강구, 유관기관 초기 재난대응능력 향상 및 협조체제 구축, 산사태 재난대응 전문교육 강화, 상황관리 및 현장 지휘체계 강화, 신속한 현장응급의료소의 설치 운영, 적절한 자원대기소의 설치 운영, 적절한 통제선의 설치 운영, 적절한 언론통제, 개인 구조장비 및 중장비 연료의 충분한 확보, 휴대용무전기 및 충전기의 충분한 확보, 재난대응에 필요한 소방예산의 확보 등이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • 사회공헌활동의 중요성이 대두되고 사회적인 인식의 전환으로 많은 대학과 기관에서 사회봉사 활동이 이뤄지고 있다. 자원봉사 포털 사이트는 성능이 우수하고 접근성이 좋지만 개인정보로 인해 특정 조직 구성원의 봉사실적을 종합적으로 관리할 수 없다. 조직의 사회봉사 담당자들은 대부분 사회봉사활동 관리 프로그램이 없이 수작업으로 구성원들의 사회봉사 활동을 관리하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 사회봉사 관리 포털 사이트의 특징을 분석하고, 사회공헌 관리 시스템에 대한 설문조사를 토대로 대학이나 기관이 구성원들의 사회봉사 활동을 체계적으로 지원하고 관리할 수 있도록 사회공헌 관리 시스템의 모델로서 프로토타입을 설계하고 개발하였다.

Preliminary Results of Thermal Effects due to Mobile Phones

  • Public concerns associated with the electromagnetic field (EMF) exposures from mobile phones on human body are increased. Although studies on the effects of the EMF exposures on human have been carried out for a long time, it is not proved yet whether the EMF effect is harmful or not. Based on the scientific results by experts, EMF exposure limits have been regulated as a precautionary approach on the assumption that the EMF effect may be harmful. It is well known that absorbed EMF can be transformed into heat within biological tissues and that thermal effects are related with the specific absorption rate (SAR) distribution. However, the relative magnitude and distribution of the energies are not well defined. Although there is comprehensive information of the thermal effects, most of them come from animal and in vitro studies. Considerable efforts have been made to analyze the EMF absorption model while the actual temperature in the human body has been rarely measured. Temperature changes on the face of a healthy male volunteer were studied. A digital mobile phone of 1.8GHz was used. A digital infrared imaging system (IRIS-5000, Medicore, Seoul, Korea) was applied to take infrared pictures of the face every minute while the volunteer talked over the mobile phone for 20 minutes. The specification of the imaging system was as follows: Temperature resolution = 0.1$^{\circ}C$; Range of temperature measurement = 17~40$^{\circ}C$; Pixel size = 0.9mm ${\times}$ 0.9mm; Frame time = 2.6s; Active temperature of detector = 77$^{\circ}$K. The result showed that temperature of the ear region was increased during the phone call and the region of the temperature increase on the face was expanded as the phone call time increased. Further study is necessary to investigate the temperature rise analytically and quantitatively.

기업자원봉사자의 자원봉사반응에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting the Responses after Volunteering Activities among Corporate Volunteers)

  • 본 연구는 기업자원봉사자가 봉사활동을 수행한 다음에 보이는 차등적인 반응에 주목하여 어떤 요인이 차등적인 반응에 기여하는가를 밝히려는 목적으로 수행되었다. 자원봉사에 대한 긍정적 반응은 만족도와 기여도로, 부정적 반응은 소진으로 개념화하였다. 자원봉사에 대한 반응을 예측하는 요인으로 가족의 지지, 회사의 자원봉사 지원제도, 그리고 자원봉사현장에서의 다양한 인간관계의 영향력을 검증하였다. 250명의 기업자원봉사자를 표본으로 선정했으며 설문조사로 수집한 자료를 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 분석결과 가족의 지지는 자원봉사에 대한 반응에 영향이 거의 없는 것으로 나타났지만 회사의 자원봉사지원 제도는 의미 있는 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 나아가 봉사현장에서의 봉사대상자와의 관계와 기관의 자원봉사 담당자와의 관계는 자원봉사만족도와 인지된 기여에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 부정적 반응인 소진에는 아무런 영향을 미치지 않았다. 연구결과의 함축성으로 기업의 경우 기업자원봉사자를 적극적으로 동기화시키는 봉사지원제도를 개발하는 것이 필요하다. 비영리조직의 자원봉사관리자의 경우 자원봉사현장에서 발생하는 다양한 인간관계의 영향과 중요성을 인식한다면 기업자원봉사자의 만족도와 인지된 기여도를 높일 수 있을 것이다.

보건진료소 보건사업 현황 분석 (Analysis of the Results of Health Service Programs in the Primary Health Care Posts)

  • Purpose: To analyze health programs of the PHCP (Primary Health Care Posts) Method: From August 2006 to July 2007, data on the general quality and health program of the PHCP was requested by official letter and replies were received via E-mail. From December 8 to December 30, 2007, data from 1,268 (66.8%) PHCP out of 1,897 PHCP were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 Win program. Results: The average population covered by each PHCP is 878.3 people. For the health and special programs, Community Health Practitioners report high motivation for programs on health promotion, management of chronic illness, social welfare (40-50%). Demand by the residents was reported at 10% and increases in the health of the residents were attributed to high interest and demand. Volunteer work was 83.3% for bathing, 54.5% for equipment support and 46% for exercise programs. As elders make up 30% of the population in rural areas, there is an increasing demand for volunteer work in bathing programs. Conclusions: As the number of elders in the population increases and there is an increased need for more medical treatment for older people who are sick, the role of PHCP must be strengthened to include visits to homes of community residents. Where financial support for the PHCP is difficult, it is necessary to develop sound data on demographic characteristics of the population in order to develop efficient and effective health promotion programs. The finding that 54.7% of the population need management of chronic illness has difficulty in seeing a physician indicates a need to enhance the health care delivery system by strengthening the role of the Community Health Practitioners and including them in the civil service system to ensure stability of the PHCP.

An agent-based cockpit task management system: a task-oriented pilot-vehicle interface

  • In today's highly automated aircraft, the role of the pilot has changed from an airplane controller to a system manager. As a system manager in a cockpit, today's pilot is in charge of a management-level activity called cockpit task management( CTM). According to earlier studies, pilot errors in performing CTM activities were significant factors in a large number of aircraft accidents and incidents. The primary objective of this research was to reduce CTM-related pilot errors. A prototype pilot- vehicle interface called the cockpit task management system (CTMS) was developed and its effectiveness in improving CTM performance was evaluated. After the CTMS was implemented, it was integrated into a PC-based flight simulator to perform an experiment to evaluate its effectiveness. Eight volunteer subjects were used to collect performance data. The results of the experiment indicated that a statistically significant improvement was observed when the subjects flew with the assistance of the CTMS.

  • The main purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of the organization's information security system in the context of COVID-19 on the basis of public-private partnership. The development of public-private interaction in information security is one of the priorities of the state policy of many estates. Among the priorities of public-private partnership in cybersecurity and information security, there is an expansion of interaction between government agencies and private scientific institutions, public associations and volunteer organizations, including in training, as well as increasing the digital literacy of citizens and the security culture in cyberspace. As a result of the study, the foundations of the organization's information security system in the context of COVID 19 were formed on the basis of public-private partnership.
