  • Clearing and labeling techniques for large-scale biological tissues enable simultaneous extraction of molecular and structural information with minimal disassembly of the sample, facilitating the integration of molecular, cellular and systems biology across different scales. Recent years have witnessed an explosive increase in the number of such methods and their applications, reflecting heightened interest in organ-wide clearing and labeling across many fields of biology and medicine. In this review, we provide an overview and comparison of existing clearing and labeling techniques and discuss challenges and opportunities in the investigations of large-scale biological systems.

  • Conductive Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films have recently attracted much interest from the viewpoint of ultrathin film conductors at the molecular level. The result shows that the Maxwell-displacement-current (MDC) measuring technique is useful in the detection of phase-transitions over the entire range of molecule areas. In this parer, electrical properties of PBDG Langmuir(L) films were investigated using a displacement current measuring technique with pressure stimulation. Displacement current was generated When the Spread volume $150{\mu}{\ell}$ and compression velocity was about 30, 40, 50 mm/min. In the result, it is known that current is generated of higher current peek as compression velocity become faster.

  • Spiral tube heat exchangers can find numerous applications in many engineering fields. Flow in spiral tubes is interest to engineers due to occurrence of secondary flow which enhances the cross-sectional mixing and the heat transfer rate. In the present study, an incompressible viscous 3-D flow in spiral tubes with rectangular cross-section of various torsion rate and Reynolds number is studied by using a finite volume method. It is shown that the axial velocity profile is affected by the secondary flow motion. Because there is some difference from correlation proposed by Hur et al., a lot of analysis and arrangement of experimental results are needed. This study showed the results of variation of hydrodynamic entry length for torsion and Re numbers.

  • Interest about Information infrastructure construction is enlarged socially according to arrival of information age, and various information systems are constructed for efficient business processing, customer service in public sector. According to subjective method for performance improvement for information system of public sector and engine that propel information system construction because it is no definite hardware sizing guidelines for information system caterer, is calculating resource volume of information system. It is situation that problem of excess of scale or reduce sizing is happening and is causing various kind of problems that is waste of information budget and service decline thereby. In this research, we proposed hardware sizing framework for information system that is applied to pubic sector.

  • Bioconcentration factors (BCF) in fish of organic nonelectrolytes are well correlated by a linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) of the form : log BCF= -0.95 + 4.74 $V_I/100 - 4.39{\beta} + 0.88{\alpha}$ where $V_I$ is the intrinsic solute molecular volume and ${\beta}$ and ${\alpha}$ are the solvatochromic parameters that measure hydrogen bond acceptor basicity and donor acidity of the compound. The LSER model can not only correlate the property with an accuracy comparable to molecular connectivity model but also provide a quantitative informationon on the nature and relative strength of solute-target system interactions affecting the property of interest. Such an information can hardly be obtained from molecular connectivity model.

  • In addition to its strong oxidizing power, the ozone has definite advantages over other commercial oxidants, namely, no undesirable by- products or residues are formed. With growing interest in the improvement of the ozone production in the industrial fields, many types of ozonizer using the electrical discharges have been proposed for the higher efficiency and the higher Performance at atmospheric Pressure. Among them, a superposition of different type discharges has been proposed. Especially, since the improvement for the low efficiency of dc discharge and narrow gap of surface discharge is required, a do and an at voltage are applied to same reaction space (or volume) to increase energy density at the same space. An investigation was focused on the superposition with a dc (streamer) corona and 3 surface discharge. This paper describes the investigation results on fundamental ozone generation characteristics by this superimposed discharge.

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic segmentation method of left and right heart in computed tomography angiography (CTA) using separating energy function. First, we smooth the images by applying anisotropic diffusion filter to remove noise. Then, the volume of interest (VOI) is detected by using k-means clustering. Finally, we extract the left and right heart with separating energy function which we proposed to split the heart. We tested our method in ten CT images and they were obtained from a different patient. For the evaluation of the computational performance of the proposed method, we measured the total processing time. The average of total processing time, from first step to third step, was $14.39{\pm}1.17s$. We expect for our method to be used in cardiac diagnosis for cardiologist.

  • Photonic band gap (PBG) materials have been of great interest due to their potential applications in science and technology. Their applications can be further extended when PBG becomes tunable against various chemical and electrical stimuli. In recent, it was found that tunable photonic band gap materials can be achieved by incorporating stimuli-responsive smart gels into PBG materials. For example, the characteristic volume phase transition of gels in response to the various external stimuli including temperature, pH, ionic strength, solvent compositions and electric field were recently combined with the unique optical properties of photonic crystals to form unprecedented highly responsive optical components. Since these responsive photonic crystals are capable of reversibly converting chemical or electrical energy into characteristic optical signals, they have been considered as a good platform for label-free chemical or biological detection, actuators or optical switches as well as a model system for investigating gel swelling behavior. Herein, we report block copolymer photonic gels self-assembled from polystyrene-b-poly (2-vinyl pyridine) (PS-b-P2VP) block copolymers. In this talk, we are going to demonstrate that selective swelling of lamellar structure can be effectively utilized for fabricating PBG materials with extremely large tunability. Optical properties and their applications will be discussed.
