  • It is known that the dierence in the length between two location parameters of two random variables is equivalent to the difference in the area between two cumulative distribution functions. In this paper, we suggest two applications by using the difference of distribution functions. The first is that the difference of expectations of a certain function of two continuous random variables such as the differences of two kth moments and two moment generating functions could be defined by using the difference between two univariate distribution functions. The other is that the difference in the volume between two empirical bivariate distribution functions is derived. If their covariance is estimated to be zero, the difference in the volume between two empirical bivariate distribution functions could be defined as the difference in two certain areas.

  • Recently, CV, CN-CV and CNCV-W cable are used for HVDC transmission and distribution cable. However, XLPE which is used as insulation layer of power cable has thermosetting properties. It is very difficult to recycling. In this paper, we prepared HDPE/EVA film, which the blending ratio are 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50;50 respectively for the purpose of recycling. Main factor such as electric field distribution and its resistivity in insulation system affected on insulation performance and reliability for HVDC applications. Therefore, electric field distribution formed by space charge and characteristics of volume resistivity was currently investigated. We suggest the possibility of utilization for HVDC insulation layer from the results.

  • The paper considers a theoretical model to study sulfate ion diffusion in saturated porous media - cement based mineral composites, accounting for simultaneous effects, such as filling micro-capillaries (pores) with ions and chemical products and liquid push out of them. Pore volume change and its effect on the distribution of ion concentration within the specimen are investigated. Relations for the distribution of the capillary relative radius and volume within the composite under consideration are found. The numerical algorithm used is further completed to consider capillary size change and the effects accompanying sulfate ion diffusion. Ion distribution within the cross section and volume of specimens fabricated from mineral composites is numerically studied, accounting for the change of material capillary size and volume. Characteristic cases of 2D and 3D diffusion are analyzed. The results found can be used to both assess the sulfate corrosion in saturated systems and predict changes occurring in the pore structure of the composite as a result of sulfate ion diffusion.

  • In this study, it is observed that the distribution of combustion chamber volume affects the volumetric efficiency. The distribution ratio was adjusted by controlling combustion chamber volume of head and piston bowl one. Four cases were investigated, which are the combination of different distribution ratios and different compression ratios (9.8-10.0). A commercial SOHC 3-valve engine was modified by cutting the bottom face of the head and/or replacing the piston by the one that has different volume. The result shows that the less the head side volume, the more volumetric efficiency is achieved under the same compression ratio. It is also observed that increasing volumetric efficiency results in early knock occurrence due to increased "real" compression ratio. To consider reliability in estimating the volumetric efficiency, we examined the sensitivity of the AFR equation to possible errors in emission measurements. It is shown that the volumetric efficiency, which is calculated by measuring AFR and fuel consumption, can be controlled in 1% error. 1% error.

  • The object of this paper is to investigate the free vibration behavior under the effect of carbon nanotube distribution in functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) by using higher-order shear deformation theories. In this work, we present a novel distribution method for carbon nanotubes in the polymer matrix by using a new exponential power law distribution of carbon nanotube volume fraction. It is assumed that the SWCNTs are aligned along the beam axial direction and the distribution of the SWCNTs may vary through the thickness of the beam with different patterns of reinforcement. The rule of mixtures is used in order to obtain material properties of the CNTRC beams. Hamilton's principle is used in deriving the equations of motion. The validity of the free Vibration results is examined by comparing them with those of the known data in the literature. The results that obtained indicate that the carbon nanotube volume fraction distribution play a very important role on the free vibrations characteristics of the CNTRC beam.

  • In this paper, electric field distribution of dielectric sphere considering surface or volume resistivity is analysed by the use of rotational symmetric charge simulation method. We applied three methods such as ${\alpha},{\beta}$ modified $\beta$ method to check electric field calculation error. We find f method and modified $\beta$ method are suitable to simulate volume and surface resistivity respectively.

  • Mechanical strength of functionally graded composite plates that composed of ceramic, functionally graded material and metal layers is investigated using 3-D finite element method. In FGM layer, material properties are assumed to be varied continuously in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fraction of a ceramic and metal. The 3-D finite element model is adopted by using an IS-node solid element to analyze more accurately the variation of material properties in the thickness direction. Numerical results are compared with those of the previous works. In addition, the displacements, the tensile stresses and the compressive stresses are analyzed for the variation of FGM thickness ratio and volume fraction distribution.Mechanical strength of functionally graded composite plates that composed of ceramic, functionally graded material and metal layers is investigated using 3-D finite element method. • The model of an isolated organ system has been developed to simulate the kinetic behavior of drug levels in an acting organ or site. The model is developed from basic considerations of drug distribution with hemodynamical and pharmacokinetical meanings. Model: It is considered a situation in which non-metabolic drug substance is injected into the arterial inflow of an isolated organ at constant rate. The volume of distribution and the concentration of drug in the venous outflow can be mathematically expressed as a function of time.
