Dynamic recrystallization (DRX), which may occur during hot deformation, is important for the microsturctural evolution of 304 stainless steel. Especially, the current interest in modelling hot rolling demands quantitative relationships among the thermomechanical process variables, such as strain, temperature, strain rate, and etc. Thus, this paper individually presents the relationships for flow stress and volume fraction of DRX as a function of processing variables using torsion tests. The hot torsion tests of 304 stainless steel were performed at the temperature range of 900~110$0^{\circ}C$ and the strain rate range of 5x10-2~5s-1 to study the high temperature softening behavior. For the exact prediction of flow stress, the equation was divided into two regions, the work hardening (WH) and dynamic recovery (DRV) region and the DRX region. Especially, The flow stress of DRX region could be expressed by using the volume fraction of DRX (XDRX). Since XDRX was consisted of the critical strain($\varepsilon$c) for initiation of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) and the strain for maximum softening rate ($\varepsilon$*), that were related with the evolution of microstructure. The calculated results predicted the flow stress and the microstructure of the alloy at any deformation conditions well.
In a line heating process for hull forming, the phase of the steel transforms from austenite to martensite, bainite, ferrite, or pearlite depending on the actual speed of cooling following line heating. In order to simulate the water cooling process widely used in shipyards, a heat transfer analysis on the effects of impinging water jet, film boiling, and radiation was performed. From the above simulation it was possible to obtain the actual speed of cooling and volume percentage of each phase in the inherent strain region of a line heated steel plate. Based on the material properties calculated from the volume percentage of each phase, it should be possible to predict the plate deformations due to line heating with better precision. Compared to the line heating experimental results, the simulated water cooling process method was verified to improve the predictability of the plate deformation due to line heating.

To investigate the evolution of deformation texture during cold rolling deformation, cold rolling process on a commercial Al-5% Mg sheet was carried out at different rolling reduction ratio. The evolution of annealing texture in cold-rolled Al-5% Mg sheet was also investigated. The evolution of recrystallization texture during annealing process strongly depends on the rolling reduction ratio before heat treatment. Visco-plastic self-consistent (VPSC) polycrystal model was used to predict r-value anisotropy of the cold-rolled and annealed Al-5% Mg sheets. The change of volume fraction for the major texture components was also analyzed.

The heat and vibration effect is known to cause a serious deformation in linear motor system. The paper presents a heat and vibration characteristics that compare a advanced linear motor with developed linear motor through experiment and analyses. The heat in linear motor system is identified for experimental data and analytic data using the Finite Volume Method (FVM). Also, it shows that the optimum standard analyzed the acceleration patterns of the moving part cause the vibration source in linear motor. It presents the analyzed dynamics of linear motor in compliance with a deformation of the non-linear factor.
In this study, it is investigated the thermal post-buckling characteristics of step-formed FG panel under the heat and supersonic flow. Material properties are assumed to be temperature dependent as well as continuously varying in the thickness direction of the panel according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fraction of the constituent. First-order shear deformation theory(FSDT) of plate is applied to model the panel, and the von Karman strain-displacement relations are adopted to consider the geometric nonlinearity due to large deformation. Also, the first-order piston theory is used to model the supersonic aerodynamic load acting on a panel. Numerical results are summarized to reveal the thermal post-buckling behaviors of FG panels with various volume fractions, temperature conditions and aerodynamic pressures in detail.

This paper presents an analytical solution to the thermomechanical bending analysis of functionally graded sandwich plates by using a new hyperbolic shear deformation theory in which the stretching effect is included. The modulus of elasticity of plates is assumed to vary according to a power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The core layer is still homogeneous and made of an isotropic ceramic material. The effects of functionally graded material (FGM) layer thickness, volume fraction index, layer thickness ratio, thickness ratio and aspect ratio on the deflections and stresses of functionally graded sandwich plates are investigated.
The two-dimensional deformation of a homogeneous, isotropic thermoelastic half-space with voids with variable modulus of elasticity and thermal conductivity subjected to thermomechanical boundary conditions has been investigated. The formulation is applied to the coupled theory(CT) as well as generalized theories: Lord and Shulman theory with one relaxation time(LS), Green and Lindsay theory with two relaxation times(GL) Chandrasekharaiah and Tzou theory with dual phase lag(C-T) of thermoelasticity. The Laplace and Fourier transforms techniques are used to solve the problem. As an application, concentrated/uniformly distributed mechanical or thermal sources have been considered to illustrate the utility of the approach. The integral transforms have been inverted by using a numerical inversion technique to obtain the components of displacement, stress, changes in volume fraction field and temperature distribution in the physical domain. The effect of dependence of modulus of elasticity on the components of stress, changes in volume fraction field and temperature distribution are illustrated graphically for a specific model. Different special cases are also deduced.
In this study, nonlinear dynamic response of a concrete plate retrofit with Aluminium oxide ($Al_2O_3$) under seismic load and magnetic field is investigated. The plate is a composite reinforced by Aluminium oxide with characteristics of the equivalent composite being determined using Mori-Tanka model considering agglomeration effect. The plate is simulated with higher order shear deformation plate model. Employing nonlinear strains-displacements, stress-strain, the energy equations of column was obtained and using Hamilton's principal, the governing equations were derived. Differential quadrature method (DQM) in conjunction with Newark method is applied for obtaining the dynamic response of structure. The influences of magnetic field, volume percent of nanoparticles, geometrical parameters of column, agglomeration and boundary conditions on the dynamic response were investigated. Results showed that with increasing volume percent of nanoparticles, the dynamic deflection decreases.
This paper examines feature-based reconstruction algorithm using feature-based modeling and based on topology optimization technology, which aims to achieve a minimal volume weight and to satisfy user-defined constraints such as stress, deformation related conditions. The finite element model after topology optimization allows us to remove some region of a solid model for predefined volume requirement. The stress or deformation distribution resulted from finite element analysis enables us to add some material to the solid model for a robust structure. For this purpose, we propose a feature-based redesign algorithm which inserts negative features to the solid model for material removal and positive features for material addition, and we introduce a bisection method which searches an optimal structure by iteratively applying the feature-based redesign algorithm. Several examples are considered to illustrate the proposed algorithms and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the present approach.
An Eulerian-Lagrangian method, so called immersed boundary method, is used for analysing viscous flow around arbitrary bodies, where governing equations are discretized on a regular grid by using a finite volume method. To improve the accuracy of flow near body boundaries, a second-order accurate interpolation scheme is used and a level-set based grid deformation method is presented to construct the adaptive grids around body boundaries. The present scheme is used to simulate steady flow around a semicircular cylinder mounted on the bottom of flow domain and calculated results are validated by results of a body fitted grid method. Finally, present method is applied to a complex flow around multi body and the usefulness is checked by investigating calculated results.
