Cases Studies on Total Productive Management and Competitive Advantages

  • The purpose of business strategy is to achieve competitive advantages which includes higher efficiency, better quality, more innovation and faster customer response. In other words, The business strategy is to build unique capability of lower cost and/or differentiation. In production aspect, unique capability means better production power with better performance at 3M(Man, Machine, Material) of input and PQCDSM (Product, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Moral) from output. The Total Productive management (TPM), a series of improvement activities focused on reduction of equipment loss, is a tool to establish business competitive advantages. In this paper, several domestic companies who won the Japan TPM Award have been studied. It is found that there is a strong cause-effect relationship between TPM and competitive advantages because. 1. TPM can change employees mindset effectively. 2. TPM can upgrade employees capabilities. 3. TPM can lead to excellent productivity.

A Study on the Qualification Training of Combination Indication Subject for Vocational affiliation Teacher (전문계열교사 통합표시과목 자격연수에 관한 연구)

  • This research was to survey and analyze the recognition about combination indication subject of secondary school teacher's certificate in the vocation high school. The conclusion through this research results are as follows, First, The satisfaction of qualification training about combination indication subject was a general positive response(77.5%), but there was partly negative response(5.2%). Second, The efficiency of qualification training curriculum was positive response(62%), the high response(77.7%) was the fisheries affiliate. It was probably good because of simulation of ship sailing about practice curriculum. Third, The need of qualification training on combination indication subject for vocational high school teacher was positive response(81%), but negative response(3.4%)

A Study on Middle School Student′s Application of Home Economics Course and Its Related Variables (중학교 학생의 가정교과 활용도와 관련변수에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study is to find middle school student's application of Home Economics course and its related variables. The samples are 323 middles school students in Kangneung. For the statistics analysis of this study, frequency, mean, Cronbach's a coefficient, ANOVQ, t-test, Pearson'correlation and multiple regression were calculated. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1. It is appeared that middle school student's application of Home Economics course are the food, human development and family relationship family, resources management and the consuming, the clothing. 2. Variables that affect middle school student's application of Home Economics course are the vocation of father, way of learning about home life skill, agreement with educational goal of Home Economic, evaluation of Home Economic teacher, evaluation of education field, participation in class of Home Economic and needs for Home Economics. 3. The explanation degree of these seven variables is 27.7% and needs for Home Economics is the most domineering variables.

An Analysis of the Research Trend in Fisheries and Marine Science Education (수해양교육 연구 동향 분석)

  • This study was aimed at analyzing the research trends and presenting the future research in fisheries and marine sciences education. This study analyzed 127 papers related with fisheries and marine sciences education among total 970 papers from 1988(Vol. 1(1)) to 2015(Vol. 27(3)) in 'The Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education'. The results were as follows. Firstly, researches related with fisheries and marine sciences education have been actively studied from 2013 to the resent. Secondly, career vocation education and subject matter education were the most in the contents on fisheries and marine sciences education. Thirdly, literature reviews and content analysis were used the most in the research method on fisheries and marine sciences education. Lastly, most researchers(82.68%) belonged to university, and from around 2008, multiple-author research began to increase quite a bit in comparison with single-author research.

A Review of Hand Function (손 기능에 관한 고찰)

  • The purpose of study to know hand function in order to prevent disability or handicap. The ability to perform precise refined movements of hand is an important human function. Improvement in object manipulation is common goal of therapist. The ability to manipulate an object in the hand is need for many functional tasks, including writing, handling coins, small objects and ADL skills. Therapists have commonly used hand grip and pinch strengths as baseline measures to evaluate hand function. The patterns of grasps are precision grasp, power grasp, hook grasp, spherical grasp, sylindrical grasp, disc grasp, pinch, three point pinch and tip pinch. And the motion of in-manipulation are finger to palm translation, palm to finger, shift, simple rotation and complex rotation. The hand function are include to evaluate of ROM, sensation, muscle strength of hand. It used to evaluate of decision of effect and suppose of disability and acceptance of vocation. Good evaluation is need to pretreatment and baseline of treatment and help to evaluate of effect on treatment.

Attitudinal Determinants of Summer Vacation Activity Participation -Application of the Theory of Planned Behavior- (여름휴가활동 선택의 영향요인에 관한 연구 - 계획행동이론을 적용하여 -)

  • The objectives of this study was to test applicability of the theory of planned behavior by Ajzen & Driver(1992), to predicting summer vacation activity participation. Vacations to vist Sock-Cho City in summer were asked to complete a questionaire to measure attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intentions in relation to participating in three vacation activities, at the beach, at the valley, and at the pool. After summer vacation, respondents were called to answer whether or not they had participated in those activities. The results showed that attitudes toward vocation consist of affective and instrumental component Consistent with the theory, attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control were significant variables in predicting intentions to participate in vacation activites. In addition, intentions and perceived control were influential in predicting vacation activities partication. Althouh the objectives of the study were achived, this application of the theory of planned behavior to Koreans summer vacation participations did not show the same power as the Ajzen & Driver's study(1992) in predicting recreation activties participation. It would be desirable for future research to apply the theory of planned behavior to various recreational settings.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate provedly the effectiveness of the practice for the arts and crafts by machine for project based learning upon improving industrial high school students' key competency for vocation, and to provide the incumbent teachers and future teachers who want to conduct research, a similar study with the basic reference materials. The vocational key competencies interested in this study are communication ability, information usage skills, team work skills, problem solving skills, tool usage skills, and responsibility and confidence areas. Because the result of pre and post testing over these six areas has insignificant differences statistically, we reach a conclusion which project based learning is more effective than traditional practice methods at improving the vocational key competencies of industrial students. On the basis of the results of this study, I would like to suggest some kinds of things needed to improve the vocational key competencies of industrial high school students. First, we require the diverse research to investigate the best teaching and learning methods to cultivate people of ability with the vocational key competencies Second, it is required that to measure the extent of the improvement of the vocational key competencies of industrial high school students, we have to develop a more objective test tool than that used in this study. Third, in the light of facts that project based learning influences on improving the vocational key competencies of the industrial high school student, we will have to make an effort actively to find the best teaching and learning methods, like project based learning. Therefore, we need to give diverse training opportunities and financial support so that teachers can conduct research to find the best teaching and learning method at improving the vocational key competencies for industrial high school students.

The Analysis on Psychological Changes of Unemployed according to the Unemployment Period (실업자의 실업기간별 심리적 변화분석)

  • This study observes the psychological changes of unemployed people according to their unemployment period. With this what psychological changes they face according to their unemployment period and what psychological characteristics they show, whether if psychological changes and job hunting activities are in relation, and whether if psychological changes affect job hunting activities. The study subjects received unemployment wage and were divided according to before employment, 1~3 months unemployed, and 4 months or more unemployed. An in-depth research of 8 people was conducted within the period of 2017.05~08. The psychological characteristics of people, in the period from when they first sense unemployment possibilities until three months of unemployment, are anger, anxiety, fear, which is a mixed characteristic that does not disappear but continues deepening. In study there was no significant difference in depression, anxiety, anger, social phobia, alcohol, religion factors, low self-esteem, and low self-efficacy in before employment, 1~3 months unemployed, and 4 months or more unemployed. However, the average levels of anger anxiety, depression, and social phobia were higher when the unemployment period was longer and the results of low self-esteem and low self-efficacy support further research.

The Analysis on the Efficiency of the Program for Job-seeking Efficacy of the Disabled (장애인의 구직효능감을 위한 구직역량프로그램 효과 분석)

  • This study analyzed the efficiency of a program designed for enforcing the job-seeking ability to overcome the career-barriers as well as the effect of the job-seeking efficacy toward the job-maintaining willingness of the disabled. For this research, the job-seeking ability enforcement program, which was started by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, was executed towards the 86 disabled by 7 sessions, which has been operated 6 hours a day for 4 days per week from December in 2012 to November in 2013. The survey for the study was taken twice with the same questionnaire toward the same object; one was a pre-survey that has been done before operating the program and the other was a pro-survey that was done after operating the program. The data was analyzed to obtain the 4 variables of job-seeking efficacy to overcome the career-barriers, which were self-efficacy, job-seeking skill, interpersonal relationship skill and job-information exploration and the 5th variable, job-maintaining willingness. The study findings were as follows. Firstly, the program efficiency was significant in interpersonal relationship skill and job-information exploration, while not significant in self-efficacy and job-seeking skill. Secondly, the self-efficacy and interpersonal relationship skill among the job-seeking efficacy to overcome career-barriers positively affects the job-maintaining willingness.

The Effects of Seaman's on Board Service Career on Physical Fitness Characteristics and Mental Fatigue (선박근무자의 승선경력이 정신피로 및 체력특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the subjective and objective fatigue level and the characteristics of seamen's physical strength with the service period on board, to have a new understanding of the vocation, and to explore a physical exercising program for the seamen. The questionnaire survey for the seamen who had been in service on the ocean going vessels was conducted and the results are fumed out as the followings. Total number of seamen who had answered the questionnaire was 64 persons and the distribution status of service period group was identified as 16 persons for each of 4 groups; the group was classified as the group of less than 5 years, 5 - 10 years, 10 - 15 years, and more than 15 years. 1. Working conditions Working hours in a week was identified as 44-56 hours(45.3%) and the number of 45.3% of the seamen answered the working hours in week is more than 56 hours. The seamen of 25.0% are unsatisfied or very unsatisfied with their vocation. The seamen of 65.6% are smoking, and 45.3% of them drink. The seamen of 44.,3% drink once or more in a week. And the seamen of 67.2% do not take any exercise in a week. 2. Contribution to the seamen's fatigue and subjective symptom The most contributive factor to the seamen's fatigue was identified as the short of sleeping(21.5%), overwork(19.2%), poor working conditions (18.6%), and the friction in human relations also becomes one the contribution to the fatigue(14.0%). The subjective symptom by fatigue was identified as the feeling of languid, sleepy and tiredness of eyes. 3. Characteristics of the seamen's physical strength and Interrelations The grip strength and back strength of the seamen whose service period is less than 5 years were measured as 40.44kg and 127.8kg. The sit ups in the group of service period less than 5 years was measured as 36.84 times, and the vertical jump for the seamen in this group was measured as 46.55cm. The closed-eyes foot balance was measured as 33.64 seconds in the group of service period between 5 and 10 years, and side-step was measured as 35.31 times in the group of service period less than 5 years. The standing trunk flexion was measured as 10.54cm for the seamen whose service period is between 10-15 years, and the trunk extension was measured as 50.70cm for the seamen whose service period is less than 5 years. And the step test of the seamen whose service period is between 10-15 years was measured as 54.44 numbers, and the number of flickers of the seamen whose service period is less than 5 years was measured as 32.94.
