High-Altitude Environment Simulation of Space Launch Vehicle Including a Thruster Module (추력기 모듈을 포함한 우주발사체 고공환경모사)

  • In this work, the high-altitude environment simulation study was carried out at an altitude of 65 km exceeding Mach number of 6 after the launch of Korean Space Launch Vehicle using a shock tunnel. To minimize the flow disturbance due to the strut support of test model as much as possible, a few different types of strut configurations were considered. Using the configuration with minimum disturbance, the high-altitude environment simulation experiment including a propulsion system with a single-plume, was conducted. From the thruster test through flow visualization, not only a shockwave pattern, but a general flow-field pattern from the mutual interaction between the exhaust plume and the free-stream undisturbed flow, was experimentally observed. The comparison with the computation fluid dynamic(CFD) results, showed a good agreement in the forebody whereas in the afterbody and the nozzle the disagreement was about ${\pm}7%$ due to unwanted shockwave formation emanated from the nozzle-exit.

  • Many real world cases in material failure analysis do not follow perfectly the normal distribution. Forcing of the normality assumption may lead to inaccurate predictions and poor product quality. We examine the failure process of the internal bond (IB or tensile strength) of medium density fiberboard (MDF). We propose a forced censoring technique that closer fits the lower tails of strength distributions and better estimates extremely smaller percentiles, which may be valuable to continuous quality improvement initiatives. Further analyses are performed to build an accelerated common-shaped Weibull model for different product types using the $JMP^{(R)}$ Survival and Reliability platform. In this paper, a forced censoring technique is implemented for the first time as a software module, using $JMP^{(R)}$ Scripting Language (JSL) to expedite data processing, which is crucial for real-time manufacturing settings. Also, we use JSL to automate the task of fitting an accelerated Weibull model and testing model homogeneity in the shape parameter. Finally, a package script is written to readily provide field engineers customized reporting for model visualization, parameter estimation, and percentile forecasting. Our approach may be more accurate for product conformance evaluation, plus help reduce the cost of destructive testing and data management due to reduced frequency of testing. It may also be valuable for preventing field failure and improved product safety even when destructive testing is not reduced by yielding higher precision intervals at the same confidence level.

  • The most of public services that we use these days is distributed and supplied as 'App' service because of wide spread of smat phones. Especially, since the interest of general citizens about usabilitu of public data has been increased, in case of Seoul, people can reach the data through 'Seoul Open Data Plaza' of 25 regions of Seoul. It becomes possible to construct various throughout this system. Ultimately, in case of users, they are provided many services through their electronic media. Looking at the development and research of public data service, they are mostly focusing on service or building up the service, but the research on visualization of contents is insufficient. This study is suggesting the specific plan and directionality of building public service using the public data which studied in the advanced research, "The user interface platform". Finally. this research is for a right usage of public data in the smart urban environment in near future and providing the practical public service.

  • In case of dismantling of nuclear power generation facility or radiation accident, the accurate information of gammaray source is essential for rapid decontamination. In order to more efficiently represent the position of the gamma ray to be removed, we create a spatial domain based on the real image. And we can perform decontamination of gamma-ray source more quickly by expressing the distribution of radiation source. The developed gamma ray imaging device overlaps with the visible image after gamma - ray detection and provides only two - dimensional image, but it does not show the distance information to the source. In this paper, we have developed a operation environment using the 3D visualization model for reporting effective decontamination operation.

Realistic 3D Scene Reconstruction from an Image Sequence (연속적인 이미지를 이용한 3차원 장면의 사실적인 복원)

  • A factorization-based 3D reconstruction system is realized to recover 3D scene from an image sequence. The image sequence is captured from uncalibrated perspective camera from several views. Many matched feature points over all images are obtained by feature tracking method. Then, these data are supplied to the 3D reconstruction module to obtain the projective reconstruction. Projective reconstruction is converted to Euclidean reconstruction by enforcing several metric constraints. After many triangular meshes are obtained, realistic reconstruction of 3D models are finished by texture mapping. The developed system is implemented in C++, and Qt library is used to implement the system user interface. OpenGL graphics library is used to realize the texture mapping routine and the model visualization program. Experimental results using synthetic and real image data are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed system.

  • Environment is an important factor in city life. Environmental elements are a subject that must be discussed in the smart city plan, but there is still a lack of information and data sharing in the urban environment, so improvements are needed. As part of the intelligent of Nanjing, this research has made in-depth investigation into the construction and service demand of environmental information, and has carried out the research on the design and construction of intelligent information platform that conforms to Nanjing intelligent city planning, improves environmental quality and provides environmental information service. The visualization of information is also studied. The result is an important module in the construction of intelligent city in Nanjing.

  • Demand for "pet plants" and "planteriers" is increasing due to the increase in COVID-19 and fine dust. In this paper, Smart pots for planterior should be small in size while providing the functions for cultivation without any problems. They should provide a user interface for long-range control for user's convenience. We implemented smart pots by incorporating IoT into pots. In response to the growing number of iPhone users, we developed an iOS app for user interface and UX/UI design. By communicating with the smartphone app and a home pot server over the Internet, users can check and control the state of the pot anytime, anywhere. The server and the pot module were separated to reduce the size of the pot itself. By locating a water bottle at the bottom of the pot, we expect that it is suitable for a "planterier" because it adopts a circulating structure in which drainage flows down to the water bottle as it is.

  • Purpose: This technical report aims to describe and detail the use of micro-computed tomography for a reliable evaluation of the bulk-fill composite/tooth interface. Materials and Methods: Bulk-fill composite restorations in tooth cavities were scanned using micro-computed tomography to obtain qualitatively and quantitatively valuable information. Two-dimensional information was processed using specific algorithms, and ultimately a 3-dimensional (3D) specimen reconstruction was generated. The 3D rendering allowed the visualization of voids inside bulk-fill composite materials and provided quantitative measurements. The 3D analysis software VG Studio MAX was used to perform image analysis and assess gap formation within the tooth-restoration interface. In particular, to evaluate internal adaptation, the Defect Analysis addon module of VG Studio Max was used. Results: The data, obtained with the processing software, highlighted the presence and the shape of gaps in different colours, representing the volume of porosity within a chromatic scale in which each colour quantitatively represents a well-defined volume. Conclusion: Micro-computed tomography makes it possible to obtain several quantitative parameters, providing fundamental information on defect shape and complexity. However, this technique has the limit of not discriminating materials without radiopacity and with low or no filler content, such as dental adhesives, and hence, they are difficult to visualise through software reconstruction.

Development of Scenario-based Levee Breach Simulation Visualization Module for Smart City River Management (스마트시티 하천관리를 위한 시나리오 기반 제방 파제 시뮬레이션 가시화 모듈 개발)

  • 스마트시티 하천관리를 위해 선행된 연구에서는 도시하천관련 데이터를 수집-정제-제공하는 도시하천 통합데이터 플랫폼을 개발하였다. 이에 하천 분석을 위한 유역 유출, 하천 흐름 그리고 도시유출 등의 모듈과 하천 환경, 친수, 종합 평가 모델을 연계하여 도시하천관리 연계플랫폼으로 연구개발을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 스마트시티 하천관리를 위한 시나리오 기반 제방 파제 시뮬레이션 분석 결과 가시화 모듈에 관한 연구를 진행한다. 부산 EDC 지역을 대상으로 DEM, 항공영상, 위성영상, 하천 지리 정보, 하천 단면도 등의 데이터를 결합하여 하천 및 유역 전산 3D 형상 모델링을 진행한다. 또한 하천 내부 유량 및 파제 제체 모델링, 유동장 격자 모델링을 통해 제방 붕괴 범람 시뮬레이션 대상 지역을 구현한다. 해당 EDC 지역 구현 모델에 연속방정식, 운동량방정식, 수송방정식 등 지배방정식과 삼상 유동 기법 등 수치 해석 기법을 활용하여 제방 파제 시뮬레이션을 수행한다. 시뮬레이션의 침수범위 및 침수심 분포 결과는 위경도를 포함한 ASCII Grid로 반환되며 GeoServer를 통한 좌표계 설정 및 도시하천 연계플랫폼에서 가시화하는 연구를 진행하였다. 제방 파제 시나리오는 제방 높이 2m, 제방 폭 7.5m, 파제 길이 20m로 설정하여 4개의 붕괴 위치를 지정하였고, 지정된 위치에 대한 제방 파제 3D 시뮬레이션을 통해 도출된 Case 별 2D/3D 영상과 침수심 공간 분포에 대한 Raster Graphics를 전처리하여 시나리오별 침수범위-침수심을 도시하천 연계플랫폼 상에서 가시화하는 연구를 진행하였다. 도시하천 연계플랫폼의 시나리오 기반 제방 파제 시뮬레이션 모듈을 통하여 스마트시티의 제방 파제 피해 양상 및 대책 마련 의사결정 보조로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A Development of Integrated Monitoring and Control System for Identification and Management of Fishing Gears (어구 식별 및 관리를 위한 통합 관제 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, the maritime environment contaminated by the abandoned fishing gears. To solve this problem, there requires systematic management techniques for the fishing gears based on ICT technologies. The existed systems are optionally used by owners, but the systems need to adopt the monitoring and control architecture for integrated national surveillance. To do this, we designed an architecture for effective monitoring and management which collects position and state information using automatic identification buoy (AIB) device, to send the fishing ship, administrator ship, and shore side control center based on the IoT networks. Especially, in this paper, we developed the ENC-based integrated control system for efficient management which provides functions for position indication, state information display and loss alarm of fishing gears. Also, we conduct performance tests for data processing and visualization functions of the system to use a virtual buoy generation module.
