  • In this research, we show that constructing a specific job-processing-sequences like a OPL paragraph in OPM (we call it int a new terminology 'program', which just means plan) is essential step in programming, just like a blueprint for a wood furniture or a house. As a result of our research on how to produce a specific job-processing-sequences without OPM, we found that outlining tool is the most easy-to-use tool for the required job. We show that the MS-word outlining function can be used easily as a good programming supporting tool with Visual Studio C/C++.

  • A visual analysis approach and the developed supporting technology provide a comprehensive solution for analyzing large and complex integrated genomic and biomedical data. This paper presents a methodology that is implemented as an interactive visual analysis technology for extracting knowledge from complex genetic and clinical data and then visualizing it in a meaningful and interpretable way. By synergizing the domain knowledge into development and analysis processes, we have developed a comprehensive tool that supports a seamless patient-to-patient analysis, from an overview of the patient population in the similarity space to the detailed views of genes. The system consists of multiple components enabling the complete analysis process, including data mining, interactive visualization, analytical views, and gene comparison. We demonstrate our approach with medical scientists on a case study of childhood cancer patients on how they use the tool to confirm existing hypotheses and to discover new scientific insights.

  • Paik Nam-June is known as a Video Artist. Video is a presentation tool with the feature of recordability. However, it is not only a video which has been applied as an art presentation tool by him. Nevertheless, the existing researches fail to notice the aesthetic concept which is shown as the rest contents or forms, as they focus on the media features of Paik Nam-June's video. Therefore, this article aims at contemplating the art world of Paik Nam-June with its contents as 'visualization of music' and its form as 'hypermediacy' Therefore, 1. Sound is shown as the visualization of music, with the direct influence of absolute hollowness and noise of John Cage, originated from Zen Buddhism, while the foundation of it is known to be from the liberation of dissonance of Arnold Schoenberg and creative impromptu of shamanic sound. 2. The from of TVs influence of the orchestra, originated from Culture of a dining table in Korean. and indicated hypermediacy 3. Paik Nam-June indicated 'Text-interpretation' us to text analytics of 'how to read', rather than the question of 'what to tell' by intermedia as the visualization of music & hypermediacy.

  • The trend of using Grasshopper with Rhino3D actively in architectural design process is recently spreading around the world. Well-known architects and designers such as Zaha Hadid, Patrik Schmacher is famous for using Grasshopper as their main design tool. As a tool for so-called 'Parametric Design', Grasshopper is receiving much attention all over the world. Grasshopper as a visual programming language has an advantage that designers and non-professionals of computer can easily learn it and use it to their works. However, those designers tend to make inefficient approaches with Grasshopper compared to computer programming professionals. Meanwhile, the difference between other programming languages and Grasshopper leads to the need of different approaches from other programming languages. This study aims to propose desired approaches of Grasshopper programming or scripting to be able to break through the inefficient approaches that designer is likely to make, by examining the characteristics of Grasshopper and exploring the appropriate programming approaches for Grasshopper.

  • Developing tailor made Multimedia courseware ensuring effective implementation of instruction strategies is a challenge that manifests in myriad problems of software design and coding. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyse and identify coding and implementation problems, in the backdrop of using two different multimedia software development tools i.e. Visual Basic and Toolbook, which underpin the development and effectiveness of use of multimedia courseware. Solutions to such problems have been discussed in context of Tool book. The examples presented in this paper are based on the experience of designing and implementation of two large scale professional quality Multimedia courseware development projects.

  • The Qis visualizational spreadsheet environment is shown to be extremely effective in supporting the visualization of multi-gigabyte multi-dimensional data sets. The Qis has a novel framestack that is the 3-D arrangement of spreadsheet elements. It enables the visualization spreadsheet to effectively manage, rapidly organize, and compactly encapsulate multi-dimensional data sets for visualization. Using several experiments with scientific users, the Qis has been demonstrated to be a highly interactive visual browsing tool for the analysis o( multidimensional data, displaying 2-D 3-D graphics, and rendering in each frame of the spreadsheet.

  • The spreadsheet Microsoft Excel is the most widely used mathematical tool in today's workplace. Moreover, it is also an outstanding means for developing a surprisingly wide range of creative and innovative educational uses within such areas as mathematical modeling, visualization, and instruction. The spreadsheet's format provides us with a tool that closely parallels the way in which we naturally carry out problem solving, while the spreadsheet creation process itself illuminates the underlying mathematical concepts. In addition, the spreadsheet's visual layout allows us to introduce a broad variety of challenging and interesting topics, and to design creative demonstrations through eye-catching animated graphics. The material presented comes from actual classroom mathematics teaching experience in both industrially advanced and developing nations. A series of highly visual interactive illustrations from mathematics, the natural and social sciences, computing, engineering, and the arts provide a number of usable examples. The material discussed is applicable at diverse levels, ranging from schools and universities through adult education and in-service teacher development programs.

  • This study has been focused on the development of an open architecture CNC system and integration of core application technology for machine tool such as a remote monitoring/diagnosis system, NURBS interpolation, and cutting process simulation. To do this, we have developed a comprehensive CNC software including the basic HMI, screen editor, ASF, and visual builder. As a control hardware system for machine tool, the universal I/O module and CNC main unit have been developed. Then the remote monitoring/diagnosis system and NURBS interpolation have been implemented in the CNC software. The cutting simulation software will be used for enhancing the productivity of machine tools. Through a simulator and test bed, the whole technology has been verified.

  • In this study, we learned about the emergence of on-line communications originating from peoseuteol Computer Communications, the limitations of online communication, and the definition, traits and development of emoticons that serve as complementary roles, such as emotion and status. After analyzing various literacture and references, it was found that the emoticons functioned as a function of communicating the visual language of the digital era and communicating more sensitively to emotional factors. In a multimedia environment, emoticons are developed at a more advanced stage as the users' own icons due to a stronger tendency to pursue particularity and uniqueness. It is expected that eomotions added with multimedia functions will be more popular and vary in type. However, although the diversification of emotions as a commercial tool is already actively progressing, there appears a reverse effect in which an excessive use of emoticons is considered insincere in online communications. In such a background, research should be conducted that can support a systematic and effective development of emoticons through visual research rather than producing multimedia emoticons indiscreetly.

  • This study is aimed to propose the evaluation model of forecasting visual quality of apartment buildings, which would be a useful tool to make the architectural concepts corresponding to user needs. This study was carried out through the four-step experiments as follows. The first step is to take the user's visual evaluation construct. To do this, the 22 adjective phrases were extracted, which were applicable to all apartment buildings. The second step is to analyze the user's visual preference, which is measured by the user's psychological quantity on the apartment buildings by S. D.(Semantic Differential) Method. The third step is to analyzethe five psychological-factors obtained from the Factor Analysis. The perceptual images on the 41 experimental subjects were checked up through evaluating and analyzing the factor scores of each subjects for each psychological-factor. The fourth step is to analyze, the similarity of various characters in a building, which is mirrored on the user's psychological quantity and how buildings are grouped by it.
