  • This study is to examine relationship between immersiveness aspect and the recognition of garners who are exposed to PPL (Product Placement Advertisement) in online game. The frequency of exposure, the placement type of PPL, the perception under the threshold of consciousness and the interest at the product and knowledge about PPL have been widely known as the factors of effectiveness in PPL advertising. In this study, 'immersiveness' is newly introduced to investigate the effectiveness of PPL advertising due to the unique characteristics of game which easily leads to immersion. Control group is exposed to movie clip and experimental group to lacing online game. In conclusion, the deep immersion has reduced the perception level of user on PPL except the variable of PPL placement. This study suggests that how to design the PPL placement in game for enhancing marketing effect is all the more vital, in spite of the result that the player in high immersion cannot distinguish different images.

  • 목적: To evaluate the feasibility of the event-related functional MR study using power grip studying the hand motor system 대상 및 방법: Event-related functional MRI was performed on a 1.5T MR unit in seven norm volunteers (man=7, right-handedness=2, left-handedness=5, mean age: 25 years). A single-shot GRE-EPI sequence (TR/TE/flip angle: 1000ms/40ms/90, FOV = 240 mm matrix= 64$\times$64, slice thickness/gap = 5mm/0mm, 7 true axial slices) was used for functiona MR images. A flow-sensitive conventional gradient echo sequence (TR/TE/flip angl 50ms/4ms/60) was used for high-resolution anatomical images. To minimize the gross hea motion, neck-holders (MJ-200, USA) were used. A series of MR images were obtained in axial planes covering motor areas. To exclude motion-corrupted images, all MR images wer surveyed in a movie procedure and evaluated using the estimation of center of mass of ima signal intensities. Power grip task consisted of the powerful grip of all right fingers and hand movement ta used very fast right finger tapping at a speed of 3 per 1 second. All tasks were visual-guid by LCD projector (SHARP, Japan). Two tasks consisted of 134 phases including 7 activatio and 8 rest periods. Active stimulations were performed during 2 seconds and rest period were 15 seconds and total scan time per one task was 2 min 14 sec. Statistical maps we obtained using cross-correlation method. Reference vector was time-shifted by 4 seconds an Gaussian convolution with a FWHM of 4 seconds was applied to it. The threshold in p val for the activation sites was set to be 0.001. All mapping procedures were peformed usin homemade program an IDL (Research Systems Inc., USA) platform. • Objectives : Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is characterized by chronic pain or a burning sensation in the mouth. There is limited evidence available to provide clear guidelines for treating BMS patients and a variety of different treatments have been used. This study was designed to investigate the Effects of Korean medicine therapies on oral pain in patients with BMS. Methods : We surveyed 30 BMS patients who newly visited the Oral Diseases Clinic in the Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital from February 2012 to March 2013. When the patients visited the clinic for the first time, they were evaluated on sociodemographic characteristics, BMS questionnaire, severity of pain using visual analogue scale (VAS) and pressure pain threshold (PPT) of the acupuncture point CV17. After 3 weeks of Korean medicine therapies (acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture and herbal medicine), they were re-evaluated with the VAS and the PPT. Results : After 3 weeks of Korean medicine therapies, 30 patients' oral pain improved and the PPT score on CV17 rose, which means decrease of qi-stagnation score. Conclusions : Korean medicine therapies were effective on oral pain in patients with BMS. To confirm the additional curative effect and evaluate the efficacy of each treatment, well-designed randomized controlled trials will be needed in the future.

  • In this paper, we proposed the mechanism which can measure traffic flow and vehicle speed on the highway as well as road by using the video and image processing to detect and track cars in a video sequence. The proposed mechanism uses the first few frames of the video stream to estimate the background image. The visual tracking system is a simple algorithm based on the sum of absolute frame difference. It subtracts the background from each video frame to produce foreground images. By thresholding and performing morphological closing on each foreground image, the proposed mechanism produces binary feature images, which are shown in the threshold window. By measuring the distance between the "first white line" mark and the "second white line"mark proceeding, it is possible to find the car's position. Average velocity is defined as the change in position of an object divided by the time over which the change takes place. The results of proposed mechanism agree well with the measured data, and view the results in real time.

  • A city is the center of all the economic activities, politics, administration and creation of cultures, and it is also a social community. It is also an environment in which human beings live and act, and thus, psychological and emotional pleasure are greatly demanded. Facilities of cities, buildings and harmonizing each and every structures with the environment sets up the image and the identity of a city because they are the most important visual structuring elements in cityscapes. Currently, most of the cities in Korea including Seoul, are in discordance with their natural environment because of all different sorts of buildings and signboards are jumbled up close together. The traditional, local colors have disappeared form those cities and all cities look the same. It is hard to find traditional beauty and identities of the cities in Korea, and the Korean cities are not even close to the threshold of other foreign cities. In order to solve these problems, there is a dire need of improving the modification of cityscapes in the long run. This research aims to understand the current abstruse situation Korean cities are in, analyze their problems and describe actual methods of improving those cities so that they can have a more ordered and organized structures. Also, this research should be used as a data of future researches based on citiscapes.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the interrelationship between eye movement and auditory function through the effects of eye lateralization on transient evoked otoacoustic emissions of auditory function. Methods : 25 subjects with complete set of ears were used in this study, which composed of 12 males and 13 females with pure tone threshold of below 25 dB without otolaryngology were evaluated. Each of the patient has a visual acuity of greater than 1.0 after correction, and has no problems with eye disease, eye movement, and human parallel system. In a dark silent room, the subjects sat on a chair with their heads fixed on a headrest. The tests were performed by asking the patients to look at a fixed red light dot on a light bar in front of them. This light was directed to the front, right and left sides of the subject at an angle of 40 ° In the presence of the stimulus sound in the ipsilateral ear, the transient evoked otoacoustic emissions of the ipsilateral ear was measured at the straight, right and left fixation. In order to evaluate the transient evoked otoacoustic emissions through the efferent auditory pathway, the transient evoked otoacoustic emission values of the contralateral ear were measured at the straight, right and left fixation. These measurements were taken at frequencies of 1 kHz, 1.4 kHz, 2.0 kHz, 2.8 kHz and 4 kHz, respectively. Results : Transient evoked otoacoustic emissions caused by lateral movement of the eye showed significant changes at 1.4 KHz and 2 KHz of the afferent pathway of the ipsilateral ear. Also, significant changes were observed at 1.4 KHz and 4 KHz of the efferent pathway of the contralateral ear. Conclusion : These results indicated that there is a close relationship between eye movement and auditory cochlea. In the future, further studies considering more diverse subjects and age groups will be needed.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive thresholding method to binarize two-dimensional barcode images. Adaptive thresholding methods that minimize light effects convert an original image into a binary image. The methods are applied to document image binarization. The methods, however, have problems of determining box size used in adaptive thresholding. thus, they inappropriate to use in recognition of two-dimensional barcode images. To overcome the problem, we analysis the problem and propose a new adaptive threshold method using the integral image. To show the effectiveness of our method, we compared our method with the well-known existing methods in terms of visual quality and processing time. The experimental result indicates that the proposed method is superior to the existing method.
