비주얼 머천다이징 효과에 관한 연구: 복종에 따른 효과차이를 중심으로 (A Study on Visual Merchandising Effectiveness: Focused on the Differences in Effectiveness according to Merchandise Class)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the differences in persuasive effectiveness of visual merchandising according to merchandise class. For the experiment, 8 stimuli brands were selected. A total of 360 questionnaires were obtained from college students. The results were as follows. First, VM cognition were divided into 3 factors by confirmatory factor analysis: coordination, attractiveness, and function. Second, coordination and function had a positive effect on brand attitude. Third, brand attitude had a positive impact on brand loyalty. Fourth, it was revealed that merchandise class had a moderating role in the influence of VM cognition on brand attitude. This study has a meaning in that the theoretical extension of previous studies on VM was executed and demonstrated the moderating role of merchandise class when brand attitude was formed by VM cognition.

도시 외부공간의 시각적 변화에 대한 인지 및 선호도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Cognition and Preference for the Visual Changes of Urban Exterior Space)

  • Purpose of this thesis is to find out the relationship among the amount of change and the visual cognition, and the visual preference which people like and can feel. Through the investigation of relationships between the amount of change, which indicates the degree of visual variation and the visual preference, the amount of change and the visual cognition, and the visual preference and the visual cognition, basic design data will be supplied, which can satisfy users' desire as much as possible in the most economic way. In order to investigate the relationship between the visually produced the amount of change and preferences, graphic simulation, in which variables other than the visual change are controlled, has been proceeded. Graphic factors of the visual change in the cyber exterior space are determined on the point of location (base plane, vertical plane, overhead plane), shape, size and color. As for the relationship between the amount of change and the preference, only the size is effective. since preferences on the location, shape and color are individual preferences, no common trend can be found. Therefore, we cannot say that which shape or color is better, Since the location, shape and color are qualitative change and the size is the quantitative change, the size can be the measurable change quantity. The relationship between the amount of change of size and the degree of preference is found to be inverse U-shape, i.e., as the amount of change of size increases the degree of preference first increases and, after a certain level, decreases. The same result has been obtained in photo simulation.

VR콘텐츠의 인지에 미치는 시지각 요인이 실재감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on Influence of VR Visual Cognitive Factors on VR Contents cognition and Presence)

  • 최근 HMD 장비의 발전 및 보급 확대와 함께 가상현실 콘텐츠의 개발도 늘어나고 있으나 개발되는 대부분의 가상 현실 콘텐츠는 사용자의 인지 능력 차이를 참작하지 않고 개발되고 있고, 가상현실 콘텐츠를 이용하는 이용자에 따라 느끼는 몰입감이나 현실감이 크게 차이 나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 토대로 가상현실기반 콘텐츠 제작시 내용 인지에 미치는 시각적 요인들을 도출해 내고, 실험을 통해 이러한 요인들이 콘텐츠 내용 인지에 미치는 영향과 실재감과의 상관 관계에 관하여 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 시각요인 중 색상지각과 공간지각요인은 콘텐츠 인식 및 실재감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 운동지각 요인은 인지부조화로 멀미를 일으키고 콘텐츠의 정확한 인식에도 부정적 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 VR 콘텐츠의 인지는 실재감에 크게 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

랜드마크의 영향력 범위와 인지요인과의 관계 (A Study on the Relationship between Influential Range and Cognition Factor of Landmark)

  • This study investigated the influential range of landmarks and the relationship between landmarks and cognition factor so as to offer basic data to be used for the effective use and the management of landmarks. In this study, eighteen famous landmark in Seoul were selected and analyzed. The result of this study can be summarized as follows : 1) First, eighteen determining elements of cognition factors were selected via documents survey. Second, general cognition factors of landmarks were analysed using these elements through questionnaires to specialists. As a result of factor analysis, historic cultural factor, scale factor, visual form factor, locational factor and uniqueness factor were revealed. 2) According to revealed cognition factor, eighteen landmarks are categorized into four types using MDS method via questionnaire to resident in Seoul city. These four types of landmarks are: type I that are recognized by historic cultural factor; type II that are recognized by scale factor; type III that are recognized by uniqueness factor; and type IV that are recognized by visual form factor. 3) As the result of regression, the influential range of landmarks were revealed at about a 10km radius(type I : 12km type II : whole area of Seoul city≒15km, typeIII : 8.7km, typeIV : 8.5km). 4) As a result of analysing the correlation between the influential range and the cognition factor through multiple linear regression analysis, the locational factor is the main factor affecting the influential range of landmarks in every type. The uniqueness factor comes next, which affects influential range partially. 5) Except type 1, as a result of analysing the correlation between influential range and the physical heights of landmarks, a quadratic equation is revealed, showing that the influential range of landmarks over 200 meters in height shows a radical change. Landmarks can be used as reinforcement tools of legibility, effective tools for landscape management and for the improvement of a community's image. This study on the influential range of landmarks and main cognition factor can be utilized as a landmark management plan and in urban planning, such as a new town plan.

호텔 로비공간에서 시지각적 인지에 영향을 미치는 랜드마크 공간요소의 표현 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the special property in presentation of spatial factors in a landmark of a hotel lobby, which affects visual cognition)

  • A lobby of a hotel is an important space by which the image of a hotel as a whole, the brand-identity, is determined. This study has researched and analyzed the special property in presentation of a landmark in a hotel lobby for its spatial factors, which affects visual cognition, and it is to provide information that can set out the foundation of space design for the appropriate landmark in a certain hotel lobby corresponding to the unique characteristics of a hotel. The regional range of this study includes the lobby spaces of 10 five-star hotels in Shanghai China and Seoul Korea. The types of spatial factors as landmarks and manifestation of those, which affect the visual cognition of the users are the range of context in this study. For this study, field-study and survey were both used in research. The results that have been concluded through this study are as follow. First, manifestational quality of a landmark in a hotel lobby is represented in its size, figure and contrast of 'shape', in its visibility and territory of 'space' and in its symbolic value and historical property of 'meaning', and each of those factors are related to the others. Secondly, the types of spatial factors in a landmark are displayed as being focused on the openness of the space or with large-scaled spatial factors. Light and lumination intensify the manifestation of various spatial factors in a landmark. Thirdly, each representational characteristic of spatial factors in a landmark, which are closely linked to each other should be controlled precisely in order to bring out functional and symbolic feature of a hotel lobby.

An ANOVA Evaluation on the Visual Cognition of Advertisement Signboards on the Buildings

  • Advertisement signboards on the buildings have functionally a visual value as factor of urban and building design. But it is not easy to find any reasonable principles and regulations, how well the signboards deliver the information of stores to the customers, and how they contribute the visual amenity from the sight of urban landscape. Under this context, this study tries to analyze the information delivery power of signboards in relation to the visual cognition. The analysis method is the Two-Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) evaluation with factors, such as scale, amount and arrangement of signboards. The scale of letters or figures at Signboards is specified in 3 different sizes such as big, medium and small. The amount is classified into 5 grades from 100% to 20% installation. And the arrangement is divided into orderly and disorderly installation. As the results of the Two-Way ANOVA, the identical scale of signboards is much better for the awareness. And the orderly arrangement shows also the same result. Above all, including these two results, the 80% of installation showed the biggest different result of awareness.

  • Intelligence of children is developed by psychological factors, and these are affected much by visual cognition. Language, behavior, arts, and cultural environment would be the main factors for visual cognitions of children. Therefore, the aim of this study is to set up those data for children intelligence development. For this, I researched, analyzed, and evaluated the esthetic consciousness of children on visual arts.

대도시 경관인지 및 이미지 특성에 관한 연구 -대구시를 중심으로- (A Study on the Characteristics of Landscape cognition and Image in Deagu City)

  • The purpose of this study is to focus on the townscape of Daegu based on the urban characteristics of the landscape cognition and images captured by citizens. The analysis was performed by the data obtained from questionnaires and interviews. This study methods were deals the cognition characteristics, landmark landscape, visual preference landscape, image and satisfaction. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The orders of cognition landscapes were estimated Apple> Weather> Texture> Mt.Palgong> Daegu Tower> Pretty Girl> Mt. Apsan> Dalsung Park> Conservative> Dongsung Road, etc. That is constructed Nonphysical elements(62.0%) and Physical elements(38.0%) 2. The orders of representative landscape(Landmark) in city were estimated Mt.Palgong> Daegu Tower> Gat Rock> Mt.Apsan> Dalsung Park, etc. As a whole middle and old people(over 30gen) preferenced as a history landscape or natural landscape, but youth people(10-20gen) preferenced as visible and interesting artifical places. 3. While the positive attitudes for the image of city were traditional(3.30), intimacy(3.58), and rest(2.90), the negative attitudes were unnewly(2.34), closing(2.37) and narrow(2.40). Also total satisfaction for that was estimated 5.51. 4. Psychological factors, related to the satisfaction of the image of city were composed of four factors, individuality character, pleasure character, amenity character, formation character. And the presumption formula of satisfaction was: Satisfaction = 5.477 + 0.752(Individuality) + 0.470(Pleasure) + 0.413(Amenity) + 0.241(Formation).

Cognitive factor Affecting Elderly in Community

  • The purpose of this research is to identify major factors that influence the cognition the elderly in community. There was a significant correlation between the cognitive and visual perceptual skills of the elderly. The subject's cognitive skill was statistically higher for males by gender, for lower age group, and for higher level of education.

유사성(類似性) 판단(判斷)과 검사수행도(檢査遂行度)에 관한 연구 (An Effect of Similarity Judgement on Human Performance in Inspection Tasks)

  • An inspection task largely can be seen as a job divided up into a series of visual search and classification subtasks. In these subtasks, an Inspector must performs to compare the standard references proposed in visual environments and recalled in his memory with the visual stimuli to be inspected. It means that the judgement of similarity should be demanded on inspection tasks. Therefore, the inspector's ability for the judgement of similarity and the difference similarity between inspection materials are important factors to effect on performances in inspection tasks. In this paper, to analysis the effect of these factors on inspection time, an inspection task is designed and suggested by means of computer simulator. Especially, the skin conductance responses(SCR) of subjects are measured to evaluate the complexity of tasks due to the difference of similarity between materials. In the results of experiment, the more similar or different the difference of similarity between materials is, the shorter the inspection time is because of the reduction of task complexity. And, When the inspector's cognition for similarity between materials is consistanct, the inpsection time is improved. Concludingly, the consistency of reponses for similarity judgement becomes a measurement to present the performance levels. And the information of inspection time that due to the difference of similarity between materials must be considered in planning and scheduling inspection tasks.
