Visual changes and speed changes in curved sections of highways are more dangerous than straight sections According to the enquetes conducted by Coalition for Transportation Culture in 1999, about 78% of drivers are dissatisfied with traffic guide and safety signs, with lack of visibility being the largest reason with about 27.9% of respondents indicating it as reason for dissatisfaction. In particular, the lack of visibility during nighttime or bad weather not only threatens driver safety due to poor delivery of information, but also affects the service level of highways. Because of this a new delineation must be installed and managed to enhance driver visibility. In this research, an optimal delineation system to enhance traffic safety is presented. In this research drivers effectively obtained information on highway alignment on the curved sections using a retro-reflection type delineation system and a newly-developed internal lighting delineation system to improve safety on the highways. A statistical comparison was conducted and analysis was done for the delineation systems that enhanced visibility through primary and secondary enquaetes. As a result, inside-lighting delineator will be selected in terms of safety at the curve sections. The inside-lighting delineator was more effective than the retro-reflection delineator on visibility, the necessity of reduction of speed and will reduce the hazard at curve sections. It is anticipated that when a delineation system based on this research is installed, a reduction in the number the number and severity of traffic accidents on curved sections will be reduced. In addition this system will more effectively provide drivers with information about highway alignment.

This study analyzed the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphashic Personality Inventory), VAS (Visual Analogue Scale), cervical and lumbar curvature (Cervical angle, Ishihara Index, Lumbar angle, Ferguson angle) and satisfaction score of patient of traffic accident. About 59 cases of patients admitted to the Korean Medicine hospital, MMPI and pain levels (VAS) cervical and lumbar curvature (Cervical angle, Ishihara Index, lumbar angle, Ferguson angle) and satisfaction score were measured and statistically analyzed. Depending on the type of accident divided into two groups of In car TA and Out car TA. After hospitalization, patient's pain index was improved as a whole. Pain index and evaluation of the cervical and lumbar curvature, according to the accident types, the difference was not statistically significant. In the analysis of the MMPI validity scales, In car TA group was analyzed by 'V-shaped', Out car TA group was analyzed by umbrella- shaped, 'inverted V-shaped'. Clinical scales of out car TA group were analyzed by 3-1 profile compared to the In car TA group. Results of multiple regression analysis showed no association between factors and MMPI scales. In the case of a traffic accident patients, damage to the body, as well as emotional and psychological factors are thought to affect the condition or prognosis of patients. In the future, for the management and treatment of these parts will be needed to complement the academic or institutional.

This study aimed to examine the effects of argument-based chemistry laboratory investigations using the Science Writing Heuristic (SWH) approach on students' use and embedding of multimodal representations in summary writing. Participants of this study were thirty-nine freshman students majoring in science education at a National University in Korea. Argument-based chemistry laboratory investigations using the SWH approach were implemented for twenty-three students enrolled in one cohort, and the traditional chemistry laboratory teaching was implemented for 16 students enrolled in the other cohort. Summary writing samples were collected from students before and after the implementation. Summary writing samples produced by students were examined using an analysis framework for examining the use and embeddedness of multimodal representations. Summary writing was categorized into one of verbal mode, symbolic mode, and visual mode. With regard to the embedding of multi-modal representations, summary writing samples were analyzed in terms of 'constructing understanding,' 'integrating multiple modes,' 'providing valid claims and evidence,' and 'representing multiple modes.' Data analysis shows that the students of the SWH group were better at utilizing and embedding multimodal representations in summary writing as they provided evidence supporting their claims. This study provides important implications on pre-service science teacher education.

The aim of this study is to suggest guidelines of bicycle lanes in terms of landscape architecture with special reference to Kyongju. The research is mainly based on landscape satisfaction factors analysis regarding 16 variables and 10 slide photos of bicycles lanes. The 43 students of Landscape Department in Kyungpook National University were selected for the research. The major research findings are as follows; 1. Satisfaction degree of 16 variables are assessed in terms of semantic differential scale. The assess group is generally satisfied with variables concerning bicycle lane environment such as $\ulcorner$inclination of the lane (5.2)$\lrcorner$and $\ulcorner$road pavement conditions (5.1)$\lrcorner$. But the group expresses rather low satisfaction degree on the variables related lanes' surrounding landscape such as $\ulcorner$visual variety (3.9)$\lrcorner$, spacious resting place (3.7)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$variety of facilities (3.1)$\lrcorner$. 2. The level of satisfaction degree regarding 16 variables and 10 photos shows that the male gives relatively higher satisfaction degree than the female group. But there is no statistical significance between the group regarding satisfaction degree of each variable and photo except 4 variables and 2 photos. 3. The assess group gives the highest satisfaction degree on the$\ulcorner$no. 10 slide (6.5)$\lrcorner$ and the lowest on the $\ulcorner$no. 7 slide (2.7)$\lrcorner$. The two photo shows variables of more than 4 points difference of satisfaction degree, such as $\ulcorner$good looking planting threes (4.8)$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$enough shadows (4.8)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$comfortable atmosphere(4.1)$\lrcorner$. 4. $\ulcorner$Aesthetic and amenity factor$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$use condition factors$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$ike lane environment factors$\lrcorner$, and $\ulcorner$inclination and open view factors$\lrcorner$are the main four factors influencing landscape satisfaction of bicycle lane. Regression model using factor scores for landscape satisfaction degree of bike lane is S(Satisfaction degree)=4.526+1.099(aesthetic and amenity factor)+0.720(use condition factors)+0.486(bike lane environment factors)+0.048(inclination and open view factors($R^2$=0.811).
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of conscious sedation on pain and anxiety of patients in implant surgery. A total of 95 patients who underwent implant surgery were included in the study. In this study, the patient's anxiety and pain to evaluate the pre-operative Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), during-operative Pain Question (PQ), post-operative (Short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire [SF-MPQ], VAS) was used for tools such as questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the chi-squire, independent-samples t-test, multiple linear regression analysis. As a result, the pain reduction was significantly different between the sedative dental treatment and non-sedative dental treatment (p<0.05). The finding of the study multiple linear regression analysis showed that operation time, implant surgery experience, gender, age, operation form and Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS) with factors that affect the pain and anxiety (p<0.05). According to the results of the study, considered to be necessary to develop intervention strategies effective using the PCS when managing pain and anxiety of behavior management of this implant patient. Thus, it is advised to provide necessary practical guidelines and dental utilization behaviors on patients with conscious sedation.
This study explores a value chain structure of TV program including news, drama, and comedy. The purpose of this research focused on factor analysis and the relationship among viewer's program selection motivations. This research explores correlation between personal value and viewing motivation. This study was to identify the value structure of respondent on TV program(news, drama, comedy) based on means-end chain theory. The research used structured APT laddering questions and 251 data was analysed. Through such analysis, category difference by stage and relationship difference were identified and hierarchical value map was compared. There are four different value ladders: first is attributes, functional consequences, psychological consequences, and final value. The result shows that on news program the basic function is viewers are want to visual factor and quickly acquire social news and they pursue a value of personal social relationship. Whereas, on drama program, the viewers are reflected by around person, and they selected a program based on closed related person. In addition, the viewers are influenced by program's social nomination, production's brand in drama, and performer's nomination, producer and program prominence on comedy. The program selection is highly correlated on program selection's credibility, vital energetic life, and social relationship. The results shows that there was no significant difference between low involvement group and high involvement group for main category involvement group respondents.

The on-going pre-environmental investigation at present is performed by separate numerical analysis of each provision which makes integrated pre-environmental investigation is difficult. The application of numerical data is insufficient, which results to the deterioration of environmental investigation result's objectivity. A lot of time and money is required for the investigation. In this study, the spacial analysis function of GIS was applied on the 8 pre-environmental investigation factors. Pre-environmental investigation GIS DMS(Decision Making System) using AHP was constructed to make integrated investigation possible through the use of investigation results for each factor. Through the use of the developed pre-environmental investigation GIS DMS and the pre-constructed GIS data, the objectivity of environmental investigation is sufficient and time and cost are reduced. Therefore, this system can be used for pre-environmental investigation during route selection in the initial stages of road construction. Through the numerical and visual data obtained from the system developed in this paper, it is easier to gain the approval of the public. Furthermore, environmental problems due to road construction can be investigated with less time and money during the initial stages of road construction.
As the complexity of the our environment is further complicated by advancements in industry and increase in vehicle traffic flow, the incidents of injury causing accidents are on the rise. Consequently, there is increasing emphasis on the importance of systematic and continual safety education for injury preventive behaviors. This study investigates safety related problems of elementary school students based on the PRECEDE model, proposed by Green et al.(1980 Green), to comprehensively identify the requirements of school safety education. The identified requirements were used to diagnose the current state of elementary school safety education through the analysis of multidimensional factors. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 594 sixth grade students from randomly selected 4 schools in Seoul to examine their injury preventive behaviors and to determine the educational diagnosis variables that affect it. The duration of the survey was 3 weeks starting from April 12, 1999 to May 8, 1999. A summary of the survey results are presented below; 1. Situations in which accidents have occurred were, in their order of frequency, ‘during play or sports activities within the school grounds’ was most frequent at 59.6%, ‘during play on local streets’ at 49.5%, and ‘traffic accidents’ at 41.6%. 2. Categorization of the injury preventive behavior showed that ‘not playing at high traffic flow locations such as streets and construction sites’ had the higher level of observance, while ‘wearing of helmets and joint protection devices during playing’ was least observed. 3. Considering injury preventive behaviors in relation to educational diagnosis variables indicated, for predisposing factors, lower ‘perception to injury accidents’ (p〈0.001) combined with higher ‘concerns for injury accidents’(p〈0.001), ‘practice of preventive behavior’(p〈0.001), and ‘the level of safety knowledge’(p〈0.001) resulted in significantly higher observance of injury preventive behaviors. For enabling factors, higher ‘perceived level of the school safety education’ (p〈0.001) and ‘availability of safety education resources’(p〈0.01) indicated significantly higher observance of injury preventive behaviors. For the reinforcing factor, frequent exposure to ‘safety education brochure’ (p〈0.01) and ‘audio-visual material for safety education’(p〈0.01) combined with more ‘regional safety education’ (p〈0.01), ‘home safety education’ (p〈0.01), ‘school safety education’(p〈0.001), and, ‘parents’ observance of preventive behaviors' (p〈0.001) showed significantly higher observance of injury preventive behaviors. 4. An analysis of the factors that affect injury preventive behaviors showed that the enabling factor ‘awareness of school safety education’ had the highest correlation with injury preventive behaviors followed by factors, in their order of significance, ‘practice of preventive behavior’, ‘perception to injury accidents’, ‘level of safety knowledge’, ‘parents’ observances of preventive behaviors', and ‘concerns for injury accidents.’
In this study, to analyze the detection of limit for sensitivity of the influenza rapid antigen test kit, the positive detection of limits were analyzed by serial dilution of influenza virus A and B type for five influenza rapid antigen test kits in Korea. As a result of analysis, visual measurement of type A were up to 1:8192 for the Wellsbio product and up to 1:4096 for the II product, up to 1:512 for the I and III products, and only 1:128 for the IV product, and type B were positive for up to 1:8192 for the Wellsbio product, up to 1: 4096 for the II product and up to 1:1024 for the I, III and IV products. For instrument readings with the same specimen, both A and B types were found to be positive for up to 1:8192 for the Wellsbio product, up to 1: 4096 for the II product, and up to 1:2048 for the I product. The sensitivity of the rapid antigen test for influenza differs greatly depending on the sampling area of the patient, infection period, specimen volume, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to observe exactly the collection timing and method of the specimen. And it is necessary further study to improve the sensitivity for influenza rapid antigen test.
The extent and direction of movement of removable partial dentures during function are influenced by the nature of the supporting structures and and the design of the prosthesis. Since forces are transmitted to the abutment teeth through occlusal rests, guide planes and direct retainers during functional movements, proper design based on the avaialble research data will maintain the health of abutment teeth and their supporting structures. The purpose of this in vitro study is evaluating stress distribution clinically around the abutment teeth prepared following 4-type clasping systems for unilateral free-end removable partial dentures. Three-Dimensional Photoelastic Stress Analysis method was used because it shows a visual display of stresses of the simulated abutment teeth and residual ridges and reveals stress concentration that can be read at any given points in terms of direction and magnitude. For this study, the author fabricated 4 mandibular photoelastic epoxy models missing left 1st and End molar. Epoxy models were duplicated and 4 unilateral removable partial dentures were construe- ted in accordance with 4-type direct retainers. Unilateral free-end removable partial dentures were positioned on their own models. 6kg force was loaded on the every removable partial dentures of the epoxy model on the central fossa of mandibular left 1st molar vertically by the loading device. After the stress was frozen in a stress freezing furnace, 6 specimens of 6-mm thickness were made from every epoxy model and examined with the circular polariscope. The results were as follows : 1. Generally I-bar clasp revealed the most favorable stress distribution around the abutment teeth. 2. At the end portion of the free-end ridge, Back action clasp showed the highest stress concentration at the bucco-lingual and top portions of the residual alveolar ridge. 3. At the distal area of the abutment teeth, Akers clasp and Roach clasp showed higher stress concentration bucco-lingually and apically than the others. 4. To the abutment tooth, I-bar clasp showed the least stress distribution bucco-lingually but the others showed irregular stress distribution. 5. At the mesial area of the abutment teeth, the order of effective stress distribution was I-bar clasp, Back-action clasp, Akers clasp and Roach clasp. There was big difference of stress distribution between them. 6. At the right 2nd premolar and 1st molar, the stress concentration of Akers clasp was a little high but that of I-bar clasp was low.
