  • Although the recognition and emotion about space is subjective and individual, if standard is proposed through common factor, objective, quantified space image evaluation will be available. In addition, space image evaluation standard caused by recognitive-emotional factor can meet requests of space users and increase psychological satisfactions. The purpose of this study is to grasp the space image caused by recognitive-emotional factor in space with PAD model and analyze the evaluation of space image giving visual, recognitive and emotional effects. The analysis result revealed that 'joyfulness' and access-avoidance had a very similar distribution. The result means that space is evaluated with the degree of 'joyfulness' for space and it is led by approach-avoidance behavior. The recognition factor that forms and evaluates space image and decides approach-avoidance is expressed as adjective images such as 'fresh, joyful, light and static and its emotional factors are adjective images such as 'calm, allowable, joyful and quiet'.

  • As the VDT work constrains work postures because of its work characteristics. VDT worksta- tions should be properly designed so as to be fitted to various types of physical conditions of op- erators. Therefore, in this study, the preferred settings of VDT wrokstation dimensions of operators. Therefore, in this study, the preferred settings of VDT workstation dimensions and work postures were studied in order to determine the appropriate dimensions and the work postures for VDT operators which will alleviate the musculoskeletal troubles or visual fatigue. The scpoe of the study is as follows. 1. Measurement and analysis of the preferred settings of the height of workstation, keyboard, seat, and screen among the experienced VDT operators. 2. Anaysis of the relationship between the preferred settings of workstation height and the seat height control among the experienced VDT operators. 3. Analysis of the work postures of the experienced VDT operators.

  • This paper proposes vision-based collision risk estimation method for an unmanned surface vehicle. A robust image-processing algorithm is suggested to detect target obstacles from the vision sensor. Vision-based Target Motion Analysis (TMA) was performed to transform visual information to target motion information. In vision-based TMA, a camera model and optical flow are adopted. Collision risk was calculated by using a fuzzy estimator that uses target motion information and vision information as input variables. To validate the suggested collision risk estimation method, an unmanned surface vehicle experiment was performed.

  • The research focused quantitative comparisons of protocols occurring in the architectural massing process using two different tools, three-dimensional(3D) modeler and traditional design tools, to aid architectural massing education. Through the protocol analysis from some experiments, the research identified the following conclusions: 1) Usage of traditional tools produced much higher protocol rate in proposing solution, evaluating proposed solution, explicitness of strategies. This result seemed to be from convenience of traditional tools causing faster visual cognitive cycle. 2) Usage of 3D modeler produced much higher protocol rate concerning attempts of making design vocabulary. The result indicated 3D modeler has relatively effective functions for mass generation and orientation, however it still has some weaknesses on display interface which cause designer's lower idea generations compared to traditional design tools.

  • In this paper, instead of conventional color management method that using spectrum analysis, a simplified color management scheme is proposed that is low-cost required method to reproduce the visual color perception of human. Proposed scheme uses computer color scanner to obtain a bit map image from dyed original color sample, and conducts pixel analysis by image histogram. From obtained image histogram, extract the color and RGB value from histogram that shows dominant pixel distribution of the sample image.

  • This paper investigated the destruction effect of the semiconductors by impact of high power electromagnetic wave. The experiments is employed as an open-ended waveguide to study the destruction effects on semiconductor using a 2.45 GHz 600 W Magnetron as a high power electromagnetic wave. The semiconductors are located at a distance of $31cm\sim40cm$ from the open-ended waveguide and are composed of a LED drive circuit for visual discernment. Also the chip condition of semiconductor is observed by SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) analysis. The semiconductor are damaged by high power electromagnetic wave at about 860 V/m. The SEM analysis of the destructed devices showed onchipwire and bondwire destructions. Based on the result, semiconductor devices should have plan to protect the semiconductor devices form high power electromagnetic wave. And the database from this experiment provides the basis for future investigation.

  • The study, "a semiotic analysis on 1930′s costume", is based on semiotic theory which analyze the meaning of signs. In the novels, "흙" and "삼대", character′s costume were used as a visual language that implies massages of character′s status, class, and the view of value. Analyzing the meaning of clothing signs, clothing could deliver the people′s informations to others and could be first things when people accept new value. The object of the studies are the novels, Hulk(흙) and Samdae(삼대) which are written by lee, Kwang-Soo and Yeom, Sang-Seob. In the novels, the social structure is classed as modern and traditional after we accept the western cultures and institutions. The traditional clothing, Han Bok, were dressed by the conservative woman. However, we could find the modernized woman dress with the western dress and the modified traditional style. According to the result of the research, we could find that clothing could be a sign which indicates value and also clothing is one of the first thing to change when people acquired new value.

  • Die desig for manufacturing hooks from steel wires has been depended on empirical procedures based on trial and error method. To design die, at first the curvature and bending angle of hook are computed by using AutoCAD and developed program which is composed of Visual Basic. Then spring back should be considered because the elastic recovery of material is very important in bending process. In this study, bending analysis of elastic-plastic materials is applied to predict curvature of hook and spring back. Therefore, systematic procedure of die design for bending hook is achieved to consider elastic recovery in terms of hook shapes. Experimental results are good agreement with calculated results.

  • In this study, the performance of the DPRMs is evaluated and the measurement precision for the pile driving is presented. The DPRMs is a visual-measurement system for the pile rebound and the penetration movement using a high speed line-scan camera. But the measurement errors of the DPRMs are caused by the strong impact for the pile driving. Therefore, the DPRMs should guarantee its measurement values for the pile driving. For this reason, the performance of the DPRMs by the vibration signal analysis is studied. It is found from this study that the measurement values of the DPRMs are reliable.

  • In this paper, we propose a compact Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)-based tracker in conjunction with a particle filter architecture, in which the CNN model operates as an accurate candidates estimator, while the particle filter predicts the target motion dynamics, lowering the overall number of calculations and refines the resulting target bounding box. Experiments were conducted on the Online Object Tracking Benchmark (OTB) [34] dataset and comparison analysis in respect to other state-of-art has been performed based on accuracy and precision, indicating that the proposed algorithm outperforms all state-of-the-art trackers included in the OTB dataset, specifically, TLD [16], MIL [1], SCM [36] and ASLA [15]. Also, a comprehensive speed performance analysis showed average frames per second (FPS) among the top-10 trackers from the OTB dataset [34].
