Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effects of herbal medicine and acupuncture on a triplets pregnant patient with hyperemesis gravidarum. Methods : A patient who was pregnant with triplets by in vitro fertilization (IVF) with hyperemesis gravidarum received treatment as an inpatient by herbal medicne and acupuncture. We evaluated the results of treatment by change of symptoms and visual analogue scale (VAS) about nausea. Results : After treatment, almost symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum were improved. Vomiting and VAS of nausea were reduced and intaking was increased as treatment. Conclusions : This study suggests that Korean medicine mainly herbal medicine and acupuncture is effective on a triplets pregnant patient by IVF with hyperemesis gravidarum.

1. Objectives The purpose of this case is to report that Soeumin patient diagnosed as Grave's disease was treated with Palmulgunja-tang and antithyroid drugs in combination. 2. Methods From April 7, 2010 to June 30, 2010, we treated him with Palmulgunja-tang and antithyroid drugs. We took his weight, pulse and checked visual analog scale(VAS) to evaluate the symptoms of Grave's disease. 3. Results After treatment, this patient's thyroid function test were improved faster than with western medicine treatment only in 2009. The symptoms also were improved. 4. Conclusions This case study showed an efficient results by giving Sasang Constitutional treatment in treatment of Grave's disease.

Objectives: To describe a clinical case of a patient with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) who was cured using indirect moxibustion. Methods: A male patient with severe CFS was treated with mainly indirect moxibustion (KI1, CV4 and CV8). The clinical outcome was observed by self-reporting, both visual analogue scale (VAS) and numerical rating scale (NRS). Results: The patient's symptoms matched the criteria for CFS diagnosis. His symptom differentiation was the "Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney". The fatigue feeling and related-symptoms were radically reduced by 14-day treatment. The VAS and NRS score changed from 8.5 and 70 to 3.5 and 35, respectively. Conclusions: This case report provides information on the potential of moxibustion therapy and its application for CFS and fatigue-associated disorders.

Objectives: This paper was aim to report the effects of Gamisoyosan-gagambang (加味逍遙散加味方) on the Primary Dysmenorrhea patients. Methods: Two patients who had been suffering from primary dysmenorrhea were enrolled in this study. They received oriental treatment such as herbal medicine. We gave them Gamisoyosan-gagambang several times. During the treatments, we requested them to visit hospital once every two weeks. If they could not come to hospital, we called them to take follow-up. The progress of symptoms was evaluated by visual analogue scale(VAS). Results: After treatment, most symptoms were improved and also VAS was reduced. Conclusions: This clinical cases indicate that Gamisoyosan-gagambang is effective in treatment of the primary dysmenorrhea patients. More clinical data and studies are requested for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.

Objectives: This case reports on the effect of Shipjeondaebo-tang-gami in a patient with anemia. Methods: We used Shipjeondaebo-tang-gami to treat a patient suffering from anemia. We evaluated the improvement of symptoms using biochemical examination of a blood sample and the visual analogue scale (VAS). Results: The patients showed improvement in the clinical symptoms and laboratory results for the biochemical blood tests. Conclusions: This study shows that Korean medical treatment with Shipjeondaebo-tang-gami may be valuable for anemia.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effects of herbal medicine and acupuncture on ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Methods: A patient who had OHSS with edema and pain of left leg as chief complaints was treated by herbal medicne and acupuncture for 11days. We evaluated the results of treatment by change of symptoms, circumference of left leg, Visual Analogue Scale about left leg pain and walking time. Results: After treatment, symptoms of OHSS were almost improved. Circumference and pain of left leg were reduced and walking time was incresed after treatment. Conclusions: This study suggests that Korean medicine mainly herbal medicine and acupuncture is effective on OHSS.

The Tolosa-Hunt syndrome is a symptom complex with unilateral painful ophthalmoplegia associated with retro-orbital pain, proptosis and Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ-1, Ⅵ cranial nerves palsy due to nonspecific granulomatous inflammation in the superior orbital fissure or cavernous sinus. We experienced a 50 years old female patient with Tolosa-Hunt syndrome who had several clinical signs and symptoms such as ocular pain, headache, sensory loss of face, diplopia, and visual disturbance. In the point of Differentiation of Syndrome(辨證). this subject was diagnosed as Deficiency of yin in liver and kidney(肝腎陰虛), and was administrated with Yangyeummyungmoktang-Gamibang. After treatment of acupuncture and herbal medicine above symptoms were improved.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of Gyejigamchoyonggolmoryeo-tang on facial flush. Methods: Facial flushwas evaluated using photographs and questionnaires. The (VAS) and investigator's global assessment were used to measure the improvement in facial flush symptoms. Results: The visual findings were. The VAS score decreased from 10 to 0 after administration of Gyejigamchoyonggolmoryeo-tang for 40 days. In addition, accompanying symptoms such as neck pain, palpitation, and insomnia were improved. These results indicated that Gyejigamchoyonggolmoryeo-tang was effective for emotional facial flush. Conclusions: This study shows the effective treatment of facial flush using Gyejigamchoyonggolmoryeo-tang based on the provisions of the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system.

Objective: This case report describes the improvements of a patient with recurrent cystitis who was treated using an herbal medication according to the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS). Methods: 'DPIDS'and 'Interpretation based on Etymological chinese characters,'the patient was diagnosed with Shaoyin-bing, provision number 315, and administered Baektong-tang herb medication for 30 days. The changes in the symptoms of recurrent cystitis were estimated using the Interstitial Cystitis Symptom Index and Problem Index-Korean version (ICSI/ICPI-K) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results : The ICSI/ICPI-K score changed from 33 to 0 and VAS score changed from 7 to 0. Conclusions: The main causes of the disease were 微 and 利,and the symptoms of recurrent cystitis

Objective: This study aimed to report the improvements of with nummular eczema treated using Osuyu-tang based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods: According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on the the patient was diagnosed with lesser-yin disease. The patient was treated with Osuyu-tang for 60 days. The severity of the patients' pruritus decreased, and changes in symptoms were assessed using visual analogue scale score and vIGA-AD^TM Results: The patients' symptoms improved, pruritus decreased, and abrasion healed. Conclusions: The results suggest that the words on the 309th provision of Shanghanlun are a direct cause of nummular eczema.
