CRT 디스플레이의 패널곡률이 시각작업 수행도와 안피로도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Panel Convexity on Visual Performance and Fatigue in Using Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT) Displays)

  • An experiment was carried out to compare the suitability in visual tasks between flat and conventional (convex) cathode-ray tube (CRT) displays. The subjects performed visual search tasks during 2-h for detecting target words among distracters presented on the screen. The subjects' visual performance was evaluated with average time and number of errors made to complete the tasks. Visual fatigue after the search tasks was also evaluated in terms of degradations in accommodative power and subjective ratings. Difference was not found in task time between the two displays, but flat CRT showed a lower number of errors than conventional CRT. The difference in number of errors was statistically significant at 0=0.05. Although there was no difference between the displays in degradations of accommodative power, results from the subjective ratings showed that flat CRT yields less fatigue than conventional CRT. The results partially support the hypothesis that panel convexity of CRT displays has a significant effect on the performance and fatigue during visual tasks and thus flat CRT is the better display than conventional one.

조선족 근로자의 사회적 지지, 스트레스, 외로움과의 관계 (The Relationships among Social Support, Stress, and Loneliness in Migrant Yanbian Korean Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the relationships among social support (network, composition, and satisfaction), stress, and loneliness in migrant Yanbian Korean workers. Method: Data were collected by using Social Support Questionnaire 6, Visual Analogue Scale, and the Revised UCLA Loneliness Scale. Result: Results indicate that means for social support were 1.52 for network size and 4.83 for satisfaction. The proportion percentage of network for kin members was 67.37. Subjects felt the moderate level of stress and loneliness. The level of loneliness was negatively related to the level of social support. Conclusion: This study showed that there is necessity to reduce stress and loneliness among migrant Yanbian Korean workers. Adequate social support satisfaction is crucial to reduce the level of loneliness in migrant Yanbian Korean workers.

포커스그룹 인터뷰를 통한 중도시각장애인의 건강교육 요구도 분석 (Needs assessment of health education for adults with lately visual impairments using focus group interview)

  • 본 연구는 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 통하여 중도시각장애인이 현재 시행하고 있는 건강관리 방법을 파악하고, 이들이 필요로 하는 건강교육 요구도 및 교육내용을 분석하기 위하여 시행하였다. 연구대상은 10명으로 4~6명씩 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 2회 시행하였다. 대상자들이 시행하고 있는 건강관리 방법은 사회적 지지망으로 들어오기, 꾸준히 운동하기, 즐거운 마음갖기, 투약/건강보조제 복용하기로 범주화되었으며, 이중 사회적 지지망으로 들어오는 것을 매우 중요하게 생각하고 있었다. 중도시각장애인들이 필요로 하는 건강교육은 우울증 극복, 다양한 운동, 수면, 혈관관리, 관절관리, 식이요법으로 범주화되었으며, 건강교육시에는 중도시각장애인의 독립적인 일상생활을 위하여 돌봄제공자를 포함시켜야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 중도시각장애인의 건강교육 프로그램 개발과 중재를 위한 기초 자료를 제공할 것이다.

아두이노와 Emotiv Epoc을 이용한 정상상태시각유발전위 (SSVEP) 기반의 로봇 제어 (Robot Control based on Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential using Arduino and Emotiv Epoc)

  • 본 논문은 BCI(Brain Computer Interface)기반의 정상상태시각유발전위(SSVEP : Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential)를 사용하여 무선 로봇 제어를 위한 시스템을 제안하였다. CPSD(Cross Power Spectral Density)를 사용하여 전극의 신호를 분석하였다. 또한 분류를 위해서 LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis)와 SVM(Support Vector Machine)을 사용하였다. 그 결과 피험자들의 평균 분류율은 약 70%로 나타났다. 로봇제어의 경우 뇌파의 값을 분류하여 나타난 결과 값으로 로봇이 움직일 수 있도록 구현하였고, 블루투스 통신을 이용하여 로봇제어를 수행하였다.

  • 최근 P2P 기술을 이용한 연구가 증가되고 있다. 이러한 P2P 시스템에서 컨텐츠 정보 제공의 역할을 하는 서버와 피어들로 구성된 P2P 시스템은 일반적인 자원 보유 서버로 구성된 시스템에 비해 서버의 부하가 적다. 본 논문은 소셜 네트워크 P2P 시스템 기반의 효율적인 메뉴 제공을 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 본 연구의 목적은 시각 정보 기반의 가격 결정 메뉴의 사용을 확대하는 것이다. 이 시스템은 우수한 성공률을 보이는 이전 연구를 기반으로 하고 있다. 따라서 이 시스템은 P2P 서버의 사용으로 영세한 중소업종에 적합하다. 이 시스템은 이전 연구에 비해 사용성이 높아졌다.

Is the Peak-Affect Important in Fast Processing of Visual Images in Printed Ads?: A Comparative Study on the Affect Integration Theories

  • This study investigates how affects elicited by visual images in print ads are integrated to form a liking for the ads. Assuming a sequential rather than simultaneous processing of still-cut images, we adopt the 'think-aloud' method to capture consumers' spontaneous responses to visual images. We hypothesize that not only would consumers show mixed affects toward a still-cut visual image but that they would also integrate their serial affects heuristically rather than simply averaging the affects as suggested by the compensatory hypothesis. By comparing the effects of two contradictory affect integration hypotheses (i.e., peak-affect and mood-maintenance) with compensatory integration, using a single regression model, we found that peak-negative along with mood maintenance integration of serial affects for a print ad works best in the formation of ad liking. The results also support our initial premise that people can have mixed valence even toward a still-cut ad.

비디오 문서의 구조 정보를 이용한 메타데이터 모델링에 관한 연구 (A study on Metadata Modeling using Structure Information of Video Document)

  • 비디오 정보는 전자도서관이나 WWW 및 주문형 비디오(VOD) 시스템과 같은 다양한 분야에서 중요한 요소로 부각되고 있으며, 시청각적(audio-visual), 시공간적(spatial-temporal), 의미적(semantics) 정보를 모두 포함하고 있어 사용자에게 다양한 형태의 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 또한 대부분의 경우 비디오 문서 전체를 검색하는 대신 비디오의 원하는 장면만을 검색할 수 있는 기능이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 검색의 다양성을 지원하기 위해 계층적으로 구성되어 있는 동영상 문서의 구조 정보를 이용하여 메타데이터를 모델링하고, 이를 통하여 동영상 문서를 통합적으로 다룰 수 있는 데이터베이스 스키마를 설계한다.

Open Space Design Elements and Social Support Design In Healing Facilities

  • This study suggested the environmental components for open space in a healing environment based on the social support approach for integrating and enhancing users' activities and interactions. The physical environments of the open space in healing facilities should be suggested by social support design and support the interactions of various users. Particularly architectural environment conditions should reinforce the contribution to the revitalization of medical facilities based on improving the healing effect of patients through mutual exchange of users. The open space environment conditions influence users' healing process with physical design factors and users' interactions, and the flexible environments based on the social support that is crucial for circulation and mutual exchange of users. The open space transformation, integration of technology, and wayfinding system with color and signage also allow users to improve the space experience and easy access. The environmental components of open space design should include easy access for user inflow, flexible layout for comfort, access to outdoor spaces, integration of warm color schemes for relaxation, personalization of spaces with artwork, and visual interest through the use of textures and materials.

정상인의 자세와 시각 교란에 따른 정적 균형능력의 변화 (Evaluation of Static Balance in Postural Tasks and Visual Cue in Normal Subjects)

  • Purpose: This study examined the difference in the static balance ability according to the visual cues and postural tasks in normal subjects. Methods: Thirty participants (12 male, 18 female; mean age $24.63\pm1.43$ years) stood barefoot on a force platform in a one-legged stance, tandem Romberg stance and tandem Romberg with neck extension stance with a visual cue open and closes. The static balance was assessed by the center of pressure (CoP), surface electromyography root mean square (RMS) of the leg muscles according to the stance position. Results: In the CoP tests, the difference in the unit path length and circumference area was affected by the visual cue according to the stance posture (p<0.01). In the RMS tests, the difference in the tibialis anterior and medial gastrocnemius muscle was affected by visual cue in accordance with the stance posture (p<0.01). Conclusion: The visual cue and postural task affect the balance ability in normal subjects. Therefore, this study provides clinical evidence that the balance and postural control can be improved. Therapeutic intervention, such as an obstacle course, and a lower leg muscle performance program with a change in the base of support can affect the balance and postural control.

  • Two experiments were conducted to support the suggestion that the same information processing was used in both input modalities, visual and auditory modality in Wonil Choi & Kichun Nam(2003)'s paper. The primed lexical decision task was performed and pseudoword prime stimuli were used. The result was that priming effect did not occur in any experimental condition. This result might be interpreted visual facilitative information and phonological inhibitory information cancelled each other.
