Convergence Point Adjustment Improving Visual Discomfort for a Zoom on a Stereoscopic Camera

  • In a dual lens stereoscopic camera, a convergence point determines the stereopsis effects of a video. When a user zooms an object, a convergence point is fixed since it is not coupled with a zoom function. Due to the fixed convergence point, it is possible for a zoom to cause the excessive binocular disparity resulting in visual discomfort. In this paper, to solve this problem, we build the relational model including all phenomena possible to arise and propose the adjustment methods of a convergence point by the positions of a focus, an object and a convergence point. We also evaluate the experiments measuring a binocular disparity and the subjective test to investigate the visual comfort. The results show that one of the proposed methods produced more comfortable 3D images to viewers than the others.

  • In moving object tracking based on the visual sensory feedback, a prerequisite is to determine which feature or which object is to be tracked and then the feature or the object identification precedes the tracking. In this paper, we focus on the object identification not image feature identification. The target identification is realized by finding out corresponding line segments to the hypothesized model segments of the target. The key idea is the combination of the Mahalanobis distance with the geometrica relationship between model segments and extracted line segments. We demonstrate the robustness and feasibility of the proposed target identification algorithm by a moving vehicle identification and tracking in the video traffic surveillance system over images of a road scene.

가상링크 기반의 ROBOKER 머리의 실시간 대상체 추종 성능 향상을 위한 신경망 제어 (Neural Network Compensation for Improvement of Real-Time Moving Object Tracking Performance of the ROBOKER Head with a Virtual Link)

  • This paper presents the implementation of the real-time object tracking control of the ROBOKER head. The visual servoing technique is used to track the moving object, but suffers from ill-estimated Jacobian of the virtual link design. To improve the tracking performance, the RBF(Radial Basis Function) network is used to compensate for uncertainties in the kinematics of the robot head in on-line fashion. The reference compensation technique is employed as a neural network control scheme. Performances of three schemes, the kinematic based scheme, the Jacobian based scheme, and the neural network compensation scheme are verified by experimental studies. The neural compensation scheme performs best.

  • 본 논문은 전체 영상으로부터 그 영상을 구성하는 특징을 갖는 객체를 추출하여 워터마크 시퀀스로 카오스 시퀀스를 사용, 인각시각 특성을 이용한 웨이브릿 영역에서 워터마크를 삽입하는 객체기반 디지털 워터마킹 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법의 장점은 영상 전체뿐 아니라 영상을 구성하는 특징을 가지는 객체를 선별하여 보호할 수 있어 기존의 방법이 영상의 객체 그 자체를 보호하는데 취약한 단점을 보완하고자 하였으며, 웨이브릿 변환의 시간·주파수 특성을 이용 인간시각특성에 맞게 워터마크를 삽입하였다.

  • The change in a society have brought about other changes in the overall areas of culture and art. And have brought the advent of "object", which is a unique cultural aspect. The object became a trend of the world in a culture and art. This trend has satisfied the modern people who have look for new visual stimulation. The object appears well in the spaces restaurants and bars where are reflected in consumer's needs and change of life pattern. The reason is that the spaces restaurants and bars have expressed the differentiated and individualized image with the characteristic of the times. There are three types of the expressed characteristics of objects in interior design. These are visual, functional, and emotional characteristics. But in this study it could not be found that it characterized with one concrete vocabulary and concept. Therefore, it is need to understand the various tendency which expressed characteristics of objects in the spaces restaurants and bars.

Detecting Object of Interest from a Noisy Image Using Human Visual Attention

  • This paper describes a new mechanism of detecting object of interest from a noisy image, without using any a-priori knowledge about the target. It employs a parallel set of filters inspired upon biological findings of mammalian vision. In our proposed system, several basic features are extracted directly from original input visual stimuli, and these features are integrated based on their local competitive relations and statistical information. Through integration process, unnecessary features for detecting the target are spontaneously decreased, while useful features are enhanced. Experiments have been performed on a set of computer generated and real images corrupted with noise.

  • This paper proposes a object tracking method based on the local moments, or moment based on the local moments, or moment of some restricted area, in which the idea of the viewpoint and the visual filed corresponding to the local area of an image is introduced. Using local moment with the optimally controlled viewpoint and visual field, the target position and its breadth are estimated robustly. By two experiments, the validity of the proposed method is shown.

  • This paper describes realtime visual tracking system of moving object for three dimensional target using EKF(Extended Kalman Filter). We present a new realtime visual tracking using EKF algorithm and image prediction algorithm. We demonstrate the performance of these tracking algorithm through real experiment. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the EKF algorithm and image prediction algorithm for realtime tracking and estimated state value of filter, predicting the position of moving object to minimize an image processing area, and by reducing the effect by quantization noise of image.
