근·현대 건축 외피디자인의 시대성과 표현기법에 관한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Architectural Envelop Design between Modern and Contemporary)

  • Architecture has been expressed a complexity of their civilization with evolving into a living spaces and a crystalloid of culture in the times. So, architecture is always a dramatic phenomenon related to architectural aesthetic and technical expression in harmony with social and cultural issues by the times. From this point of view, we can describe that architecture is one of an important mediators to analyze the integrated trend of time. Specially an expressed building envelop which is a matter of consequence in the architectural component is first visual factor including architectural meaning and historical back ground. Therefore, this study firstly starts an investment for discriminative characteristics of building envelop design in the times, then will take the comparative analysis related with modern age and contemporary age based on phases of the times. This research will give the chance to prepare of the pillar of future envelop design in the practical affairs and has simultaneously the chance to understand of inclusive envelop design methodology by the changes of the times.

현대패션에 나타난 Contemporary Art Inspiration 연구 (A study on the Contemporary Art Inspiration in Contemporary Fashion Design)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest more specific method to express art connected to the factor of fashion design by classifying fashion case combined with contemporary art, which is expressed through visual factor of fashion, analyzing exchange phenomenon, trend and change aspect of art and fashion and researching its expression type under the background of art preference phenomenon of contemporary art. From the result of measuring the frequency of contemporary art type, it was found that various types and artists' works were applied to fashion industry. Therefore, the scope of contemporary art, which is used for fashion, is being enlarged and new type is appearing every year continuously. Especially, its frequency was highest in 2008 S/S. In addition, it was found that it was more frequent in S/S season rather than in F/W season. From the result of analyzing expression method of contemporary art inspiration shown in fashion by classifying it into structure aspect, print aspect and 3D decoration aspect, in most cases, the contemporary art was used as a print or pattern for dress or accessory. The print aspect could be divided into geometric abstraction pattern, expressional abstract pattern, trompe-l'oeil pattern, graffiti pattern, picture image pattern and cartoon pattern in detail.

모바일 게임 컷신의 몽타주와 표현 양식 연구 (A Study on Montage and Expression Styles in Cut-scenes of Mobile Game)

  • 본 연구의 배경은 고사양 스마트 기기를 기반으로 모바일 게임의 장르가 다양해지면서 컷신(cut-scene)의 활용도가 높아지고 있는데, 디지털 게임에서 컷신은 불필요한 존재로 인식되고 있어 이에 컷신의 기능과 활용 범위에 대한 제안을 하고자 한다. 본 연구의 범위는 상용화 되고 있는 모바일 게임의 장르별로 컷신의 활용범위를 분류하고 시각 표현에 대한 특징을 찾아 모바일 게임의 커뮤니케이션 양식의 틀을 만들기 위한 연구이다. 연구결과는 모바일 게임의 컷신의 활용은 기존 디지털 게임과 같이 게임의 장르에 따라 다르게 나타나고 있으며, 플랫폼의 형식에 맞게 진화하고 있지만 아직은 초기 디지털 게임의 컷신과 같이 다양한 시도가 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 향후 연구 과제는 모바일 게임 플랫폼의 특성에 맞는 커뮤니케이션 양식으로 새로운 플랫폼의 등장에 적용할 수 있는 모듈이 필요할 것이라 생각된다.

공간이미지와 감성어휘에 따른 마감재 표현방법 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Expressive Methods of Finishing Materials for Space Image and Emotional Vocabulary)

  • The purpose of this study is to focus on living rooms that are preferred as a place for changing space image to the maximum and to find a method how finishing materials are expressed by selecting space with mix & match of many images. The study methods are as follows. First, understand the expressive trend of space images through the precedent studies and magazines, and examine its relationship with finishing materials. Second, select space images based on the contents understood earlier and extract adjective words that represent each space image through an expert survey. Third, find the cases where space images are expressed based on the extracted words and analyze expression methods of finishing materials. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was confirmed that recent space images are actively expressed through finishing materials. Second, space images selected through data related to the trend were classified as modern+natural, modern+traditional, modern+retro, classic+natural, classic+humor, and futurism+natural and 4 adjective words for each space image were extracted. Third, expressive elements of finishing materials were extracted as 'material'. 'texture', 'color', and 'pattern' through the precedent studies. Fourth, expressive methods of finishing materials for each space image could be suggested by analyzing the examples that show mix & match based on the contents extracted earlier. Lastly, it is expected to find various methods that lead space image into finishing materials by evaluating responses and changes in visual perception of residents according to expression of finishing materials based on this study.

  • Show window display is a technique of arranging goods for sales promotion, namely, motivating and inducing customers to purchase products. It is not simply exhibiting articles but a technical expression of values retained in exhibited articles and an integrated visual art comprehending color, lighting effect, the customers' angle of vision, differentiation from neighboring stores, harmony with properties, assistive roles of relevant goods, and entire messages provided by these elements. Show window display plays the role of a medium that expresses brand images and attracts consumers. Through the medium, the company's brand image is recognized and the recognition determines the trend of brand sales. Brand images planted to consumers seldom change, and wrong recognition affects not only the brand image but also the company image. The present study purposed to suggest show window display employing brand images different from traditional show window display, to examine the effects of brand images on consumers' intention to purchase, and to propose display design.

  • Current information-oriented society is expanding rapidly with the huge change to our society from the information revolution emerged in mid '50s. Information technique such as computer, communication satellite and cable technology play their in this information-oriented society, and in 1980s, digital technique was adopted to media, inviting new phenomenon in communication of overall society. Expectations and hope for new trends and changes from digital era flourished when we entered into new Millenium, the 21st century. Since then we have gone through changes in years from analogue to digital. Now the word 'digital' is conceived in unified manner in almost every fields and influences overall society, changing our life pattern rapidly. Modern society had demanded some speedy and bidirectional communication tool in shifting digital era, and resulted from that was a new culture, Now the society changes more and more quickly under the speedy information sharing. From that perspective we need to establish the aspects of sensibility expression, which is one feature of the communication. The sensibility-oriented digital was originated from the human nature, which counts emotion and composure much. To satisfy the human nature a new cultural value which transcend a traditional one is needed. And the sensitivity expression to meet the need is one communication tendency in digital era. Digital era has totally different social qualities from that of analogue era. In digital era, prompt respond to rapid change and creativity combined with sensitivity are needed. Therefore a man with sensitivity would be more outstanding than a man of intelligence. The picture of digital and analogue in our society consists of two axis one is analogue axis like retrospective trend, admiration for nature , oriental thought etc. , and the other is the digital axis of internet and information technology. Sensibility can be widely interpreted as analogue thinking. It is surely different from the plain retrospective trend or nostalgia for past. It is a tendency that digital technology is used and cooperated with the emotion in human nature, In this paper we suggest the sensitivity expressions in detail through the study cases including both sides of digital and sensitivity expressions such as 'Bravo your life' advertising campaign of Samsung Insurance, MP3 advertising campaign, and 'Mini-homepage' of Cyworld. Under the circumstances the main direction of communication is oriented to human. This study's purpose is to think the true meaning of this digital era, to overcoming its weaknesses, such as over-dependency on technique and selfish individualism and to harmonize digital and sensitivity expression. The sensitivity-oriented expression than the reason-oriented one is expected to be put forth in whole media, and this is a more efficient tendency under the shifting digital era.

전통화조화의 사실적(寫實的) 표현과 시정적(詩情的) 색채표현 (A Study on Lyricism Expression of Color & Realistic Expression reflected in Oriental Painting of flower & birds)

  • Colors change in time corresponding with the value system and aesthetic consciousness of the time. The roles that colors play in painting can be divided into the formative role based on the contrast and harmony of color planes and the aesthetic role expressed by colors to represent the objects. The aesthetic consciousness of the orient starts with the Civility(禮) and Pleasure(樂), which is closely related with restrained or tempered human feelings. In the art world of the orient including poem, painting, and music, what are seen and felt from the objects are not represented in all. Added by the sentiment laid background, the beauty of the orient emphasizes the beauty of restraint and temperance, which has long been the essential aesthetic emotion of the orient. From the very inception of oriental painting, colors had become a symbolic system in which the five colors associated with the philosophy of Yin and Yang and Five Forces were symbolically connected with the four sacred animals of Red Peacock, Black Turtle, Blue Dragon, and White Tiger. In this color system the use of colors was not free from ideological matters, and was further constrained by the limited color production and distribution. Therefore, development in color expression seemed to have been very much limited because of the unavailability and unreadiness of various colors. Studies into the flow in oriental painting show that color expression in oriental painting have changed from symbolic color expression to poetic expression, and then to emotional color expression as the mode of painting changes in time. As oriental painting transformed from the art of religious or ceremonial purpose to one of appreciation, the mast visible change in color expression is the one of realism(simulation). Rooted on the naturalistic color expression of the orient where the fundamental properties of objects were considered mast critical, this realistic color expression depicts the genuine color properties that the objects posses, with many examples in the Flower & Bird Painting prior to the North Sung dynasty. This realistic expression of colors changed as poetic sentiments were fused with painting in later years of the North Sung dynasty, in which a conversion to light ink and light coloring in the use of ink and colors was witnessed, and subjective emotion was intervened and represented. This mode of color expression had established as free and creative coloring with vivid expression of individuality. The fusion of coloring and lyricism was borrowed from the trend in painting after the North Sung dynasty which was mentioned earlier, and from the trend in which painting was fused with poetic sentiments to express the emotion of artists, accompanied with such features as light coloring and compositional change. Here, the lyricism refers to the artist's subjective perspective of the world and expression of it in refined words with certain rhythm, the essence of which is the integration of the artist's ego and the world. The poetic ego projects the emotion and sentiment toward the external objects or assimilates them in order to express the emotion and sentiment of one's own ego in depth and most efficiently. This is closely related with the rationale behind the long-standing tradition of continuous representation of same objects in oriental painting from ancient times to contemporary days. According to the thoughts of the orient, nature was not just an object of expression, but recognized as a personified body, to which the artist projects his or her emotions. The result is the rebirth of meaning in painting, completely different from what the same objects previously represented. This process helps achieve the integration and unity between the objects and the ego. Therefore, this paper discussed the lyrical expression of colors in the works of the author, drawing upon the poetic expression method reflected in the traditional Flower and Bird Painting, one of the painting modes mainly depending on color expression. Based on the related discussion and analysis, it was possible to identify the deep thoughts and the distinctive expression methods of the orient and to address the significance to prioritize the issue of transmission and development of these precious traditions, which will constitute the main identity of the author's future work.

디지털 텍스타일 프린팅의 초현실주의적 표현 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Surrealist Expressions Technique of Digital Textile Printing)

  • With the development of digital technology, clothes of unique textiles using the digital printing techniques have appeared as a creative trend in textile design. The development of digital textile printing technology has allowed the fashion industry to utilize it as an expressive method of a surrealist trend in current fashion designs, and so it is necessary to understand and study this phenomenon. The present study is an attempt to understand this modern fashion phenomena from an artistic perspective by looking at textile designs that applied actual images to textiles, so that this trend in fashion design can be better understood. In this context, this study aims to examine characteristics and expressive techniques of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme associated with digital textile printing by using actual images among surrealist expressions, and to investigate creative expressions of textile design freely expressing the visual boundary between reality and surrealism with the development of digital technology. For research methods, we reviewed technical texts and previous studies related to our research topic for theoretical exploration and investigated the Internet data and used them for basic data. In the case study, we came up with the characteristics and meanings by classifying fashion design cases using digital textile printing techniques according to expressive techniques of surrealist d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme. Details of this study are as follows: First, it investigates the definition and expressive characteristics of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme of the surrealist expression for its theoretical understanding. Second, it comes up with the characteristics by analyzing the digital textile cases from the perspective of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme. Third, it deduces the expressive methods and characteristics of digital textile printing from a the perspective of surrealist d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme based on the resulting characteristics. The conclusions show that d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme, which consists of improvisation and coincidence, maximized the mysterious images of derealisation and mysterious primitive images. These things emphasized the characteristics of maximization of images, derealisation, and rationalization of irrationalism.

한국어 문화교육과 표현활동의 통합적 다양화 방안 - <세종한국문화> 교재 분석을 중심으로 - (The Ways for the Integrated Diversity of Korean Culture Education with Korean Expression Activities - Focusing on the Analysis of the Textbook )

  • 본 연구는 의사소통 교수법의 흐름 안에서 출판된 <세종한국문화>라는 한국어 문화교재를 분석하여 문화교육과 표현활동의 통합적 다양화 방안을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 문화인식, 문화 문식력을 넘어서 문화 능력의 신장이라는 최종 목표를 설정하고 해당 교재의 주제 분포, 말하기 쓰기 등의 표현활동 유형을 분석하였다. 학습자가 속해 있는 두 문화의 단순한 비교를 넘어서 창조적 문화 생산 활동을 지향하는 문화능력의 신장은 표현활동과의 통합이 그 목표를 이루는 데 매우 효과적인 방안임을 전제로 하였다. 이 교재는 시각자료를 풍성하게 제시하면서 성취문화보다는 행동문화와 정보문화의 제시를 중점으로 삼고 있으며 초급 단계보다 높은 단계에서도 활용 가능하도록 다양한 수준의 매체 읽기 자료를 배열한 점을 그 특징으로 지적하였다. 또한 교재 속 표현활동 유형을 분석하여 말하기와 쓰기 영역의 질문형식이 학습자들의 표현활동을 몇 가지 유형에 제한시키고 있음을 발견하였다. 문화 이해와 문화 문식력 단계에서 문화 능력의 단계로 나아가기 위해서 질문 형식의 다양화, 표현 활동의 확장, 통합 활동의 창조적 적용 등을 제안하였다.

음의 시각화와 그 표현의 경향 (Trend analysis and shapes of the visual expressions of the sounds)

  • 인간은 자연현상으로 발생되는 소리와 인공적으로 발생되는 소리 속에 살고 있다. 인간의 생물학적 행동을 유발시키는 것 또한 소리이다. 감각기관 즉, 청각으로만 인식할 수 있는 소리의 또 다른 표현은 예술의 형식을 통해서 가능하다. 음악과 미술은 같은 감정을 표현하는 예술호서 표현방법만 다를 뿐 둘 모두 우뇌(右惱, dextrocerebral)를 사용하고 직관력이 필요하다는 공통점을 가지고 있다. 이런 관계로 지금까지 음과 시각예술을 접목하려는 시도가 계속되어 왔으며, 주관적인 해석의 예술적 작품에서 컴퓨터를 이용한 작품에 이르기까지 음의 시각화 실험은 계속 시도되어지고 있다. 본 연구는 음의 시각적 표현 중 디자인 저 표현의 본질과 특성을 규명하며, 기존의 학문적 특성과 연구 범주, 최근의 주요 동향에 대한 고찰을 바탕으로 향후 음의 시각표현의 방법론을 정리하고 재해석하여 이의 디자인에 대한 연구 방향을 제시함을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구를 토대로 향후 한국음악 특히 사물놀이가 가지고있는 음색적 특색 및 각 악기의 상징을 이용한 시각적 표현의 가능성을 모색하는 후속연구를 통해 음의 새로운 시각표현의 기능성을 모색코자 한다.
