Indium Tin Oxide(ITO) thin films have been fabricated by the dc magnetron sputtering technique with a target of a mixture $In_{2}O_{3}$(90mol%) and $SnO_{2}$(10mol%). We prepared ITO thin films with substrate temperature 200 to $400^{\circ}C$ and annealing temperature 200 to $500^{\circ}C$. Good polycrystalline-structured ITO films with a low electrical resistivity of $3.4{\times}10^{-4}\Omega{\cdot}cm$ have been obtained. The visible light transmittance of all obtained films was over 80 %.
Hybrid-type transparent electrodes were fabricated by depositing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via spray coating on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates and then coating the CNTs with [poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)] (PEDOT) films via electro-polymerization. For all of the fabricated electrodes, their surface morphologies, electric sheet resistances, visible transmittances, and color properties (e.g., yellowness) were characterized as functions of the applied voltages and process times used in electro-polymerization. The sheet resistance of the CNTs was significantly reduced by the coating of PEDOT, while their visible transmittances slightly decreased. The yellowness values of the PEDOT-coated CNTs were observed to have substantially decreased via electro-polymerization. The experimental results confirmed that the fabricated hybrid electrodes had desirable properties for the application of transparent electrode in terms of the electrical resistance, optical transmittance, and chromaticity.

Indium Tin Oxide(ITO) thin films have been fabricated by the dc magnetron sputtering technique with a target of a mixture In$_2$O$_3$(90mo1%) and SnO$_2$(10mo1%). We prepared ITO thin films with substrate temperature 200 to 400$^{\circ}C$ and annealing temperature 200 to 500$^{\circ}C$ food polycrystalline-structured ITO films with a low electrical resistivity of 3.4${\times}$10$\^$-4/ Ω$.$cm have been obtained. The visible light transmittance of all obtained films was over 80 %.
Transparent electrode ZnO:Al(AZO)films were deposited on a PES (polyethersulfone) polymer substrate for thin film solar cells applications. A PES substrate with a thickness of 0.2mm and transmittance > 90% in the visible range was used because it is light weight and can deform easily. AZO thin films were prepared at a fixed DC power, $PO_2\;=\;P(O_2)/[P(O_2)\;+\;P(Ar)]$, and various substrate temperatures. The properties of AZO thin films were examined by X-ray diffraction, UV/VIS spectroscopy, four-point probe, Hall measurements, and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The lowest resistivity of all the films was $4.493\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;[\Omega-cm]$ and the transmittance was > 80% in the visible range.
Smart windows are capable of varying their visible light transmittance (VLT) in response to changing environmental conditions. The VLT variability of architectural windows is highly valuable because it enables indoor lighting and energy environments to align with external changes. However, challenges such as high installation costs and assurance of glass visibility have prompted the exploration of alternative solutions, including models incorporating partially applied smart windows., Prior research focused on useful daylight illuminance (UDI) analysis for south-facing office buildings, pointing out suitable areas for smart-window implementation to enhance lighting control. In this study, we broadened this scope by determining optimal smart-window application zones under changing building orientation. Furthermore, we studied the correlation between building orientation and smart-window deployment areas.

ZnO single layer films (100 nm thick) and Au intermediated ZnO films (ZnO/Au/ZnO; ZAZ) were deposited on the glass substrate by RF and DC magnetron sputtering at room temperature and then the influence of the Au interlayer on the electrical and optical properties of the films were investigated. ZnO thin films show the visible transmittance of 90.3 % and sheet resistance of 63.2×108 Ω/□. In ZAZ films, as Au interlayer thickness increased from 6 to 10 nm, the sheet resistance decreased from 58.3×108 to 48.6 Ω/□, and the visible transmittance decreased from 84.2 to 73.9 %. From the observed results, it can be concluded that the intermediate Au thin film enhances the opto-electrical performance of ZnO films without intentional substrate heating.

Transparent conductive tungsten (W) doped indium oxide (In2O3; IWO) films were deposited at different substrate bias voltage (-Vb) conditions at room temperature on glass substrates by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering and the influence of the substrate bias voltage on the optical and electrical properties was investigated. As the substrate bias voltage increased to -350 Vb, the IWO films showed a lower resistivity of 2.06 × 10-4 Ωcm. The lowest resistivity observed for the film deposited at -350 Vb could be attributed to its higher mobility, of 31.8 cm2/Vs compared with that (6.2 cm2/Vs) of the films deposited without a substrate bias voltage (0 Vb). The highest visible transmittance of 84.1 % was also observed for the films deposited at the -350 Vb condition. The X-ray diffraction observation indicated the IWO films deposited without substrate bias voltage were amorphous phase without any diffraction peaks, while the films deposited with bias voltage were polycrystalline with a low In2O3 (222) diffraction peak and relatively high intensity (431) and (046) diffraction peaks. From the observed visible transmittance and electrical properties, it is concluded that the opto-electrical performance of the polycrystalline IWO film deposited by RF magnetron sputtering can be enhanced with effective substrate bias voltage conditions.

Ion implantation in polymeric materials can induce dramatic chemical modifications, such as bond breaking, cross linking, formation of new chemical products, which have strong influences on the macroscopic properties of the materials. In this study ion implantation was performed onto polymer, PC(polycarbonate), in order to investigate change of the optical transmittance property focusing ultraviolet ray range(200-400nm). PC was irradiated with N, Ar, Kr, Xe ions at the ion energy of 50keV and the dose range of 5 ${\times}$ 10$\^$15/, 1 ${\times}$ 10$\^$16/, 7${\times}$10$\^$16/ ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$. FT-IR, XPS, UV/Vis transmittance spectroscopy measurement technologies were employed to obtain chemical. structural properties and optical transmittance of irradiated polymer. The original PC(unimplanted) is quite transparent that it has more than 88% transmittance in the range UV-A(320∼400nm), but after ion implantation, surface colors were changed to the dark brown and the transmittance of UV ray decreased for all implantation condition, and the absorption edge was shift to visible range with increasing mass of implanted ion species and dose.

Purpose: The present study was aimed to investigate the cleaning efficacy of multi-purpose solutions containing different types and content of surfactants and their effect on the visible light transmittance of soft lens. Methods: Soft lenses made of different materials (etafilcon A and hilafilcon B) were deposited tear proteins by using the artificial tear and then compared the resulting cleaning efficacy and visible light transmittance after cleaning the lens with 6 types of multi-purpose solutions containing different content of surfactants. Results: The cleaning efficacy of multi-purpose solutions was variously shown as approximately 23~43% according to the active concentration of surfactants and surface tension in multi-purpose solution when etafilcon A lens cleaned with rubbing. The highest cleaning efficacy was detected when cleaned with the multi-purpose solution containing hydrogen peroxide besides surfactant however, the amount of remaining protein was still high on the lens. After washed with multi-purpose solution, the visible light transmittance of lens was in 89.8 to 90.8%. The amount of protein deposited on hilafilcon B lens was very small compared with it on etafilcon A lens even though it was incubated in artificial tears for 7 days, which showed 5~10% of protein amount in etafilcon A lens and the decrease of visible light transmittance was also not significant. In case of rubbing with multi-purpose solution, the cleaning efficacy on hilafilcon B lens was in 45.4 to 67.4% however, the order of cleaning efficacy of multi-purpose solution was different from it on etafilcon A lens. The visible light transmittance of hilafilcon B lens has been restored to the level of new lens. Conclusions: From the result, it is concluded that the appropriate multi-purpose solution should be selected according to the lens material and the amount of protein deposit on the basis of understanding surfactants and active principle for proper care of protein deposit on soft lens and the cleaning with rubbing is more efficient for lens care regardless of manufacturer's guideline.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the change of soft contact lens parameters after eyeliner deposition and compare the cleaning efficiency and the recovery rate of lens parameters by different cleaning methods. Methods: The eyeliner was deposited on three types of soft contact lenses made of different materials for 1 hour, 4 hours and 6 hours and those lenses were washed by the eyeglasses ultrasonic cleaning and by hands. The changes in visible light transmittance, diameter and surface of those lenses were compared before and after cleaning of the lens. Results: The visible light transmittance of soft contact lenses decreased along with the deposition time of eyeliner. The patterns of the eyeliner deposition on soft contact lens appeared differently depending on the physical properties of the lens material. Thus, the largest eyeliner deposition was found on narafilcon A lens. The diameters of hilafilcon B and etafilcon A lenses were decreased, however, the diameter of narafilcon A lens was increased. The cleaning efficiency of the eyeliner deposition was greater with the multipurpose solution by hands than with the eyeglasses ultrasonic cleaner. However, the recovery of lens parameters such as the lens diameter, visible light transmittance and lens surface due to the eyeliner deposition to its original state was limited. Conclusions: From these results, it is suggested to minimize eye makeup when wearing soft contact lens. Furthermore, the reduced wearing time and shorter cycle of lens replacement may be needed by considering a change of lens parameter when the repeat eye makeup is applied.
