방사선 조사된 검은후추가루의 Amylograph Characteristics의 변화에 따른 검지 가능성 (Detection Capability by Change of Amylograph Characteristics of Irradiated Black Pepper)

  • Amylograph를 이용하여 방사선 조사된 검은후추가루의 amylograph characteristics의 변화를 검사하고, 변화된 amylograph characteristics에 의해서 검은후추가루의 검지가 가능한지를 알아보기 위하여 본 실험은 수행되었다. Initial pasting temperatures, maximum viscosity temperatures는 조사선량의 증가에 따른 유의적인 변화가 관찰되지 않았다. Maximum viscosity(P), $93^{\circ}C$ viscosity, $93^{\circ}C$에서 15분 후의 viscosity(H), $45^{\circ}C$ viscosity(C), $45^{\circ}C$에서 30분 후의 viscosity, $45^{\circ}C$에서 60분 후의 viscosity는 조사선량이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 보여주었으며, p<0.05의 수준에서 통계적인 유의성이 관찰되었다. 그러나 breakdown(P-H), setback(C-P), 그리고 consistency(C-H)는 조사선량의 증가에 따른 명확한 차이가 관찰되지 않았다. breakdown(P-H)이 0.75, setback(C-P)이 0.88, consistency(C-H)가 0.31의 $R^2$ 값을 보인 것을 제외하고는 모든 amylograph characteristics 의 $R^2$ 값은 0.97 이상의 높은 상관성을 보여 주었다. 따라서 amylograph characteristics에 의해서 검은후추가루의 방사선 조사여부 확인이 가능하였다.

  • A method for repairing cracks using low-viscosity resins has been proposed as a construction method that can quickly repair roads from deterioration. However, when the viscosity of the epoxy resin is high, there is a limit in that it is difficult for the material to penetrate into microcracks and cracks in the concrete top plate. In this study, an epoxy thin-layer pavement repair method was developed using low-viscosity PMMA (Poly methyl methacrylate) to repair microcracks on the pavement surface and pavement layer and reinforce the pavement surface. Materials necessary for the thin-layer packaging method were developed, and performance was evaluated to meet the epoxy binder quality standards. As a result, all materials met the required performance.

가열조건에 따른 동부 앙금 호화액의 겉보기 점도 (Effect of Heating Conditions on Apparent Viscosity of Cowpea Sediment Dispersions)

  • Effects of concentration(6-9%, db) , heating temperature (80-95$^{\circ}C$), cooking time (10-50min) and heating method (continuous and instantaneous) on the apparent viscosity of cowpea sediment dispersions at 6$0^{\circ}C$ were investigated. The instantaneous heating resulted in higher apparent viscosity than continuous heating regardless concentrations and heating temperatures. The activation energy of the increase rate constant of the apparent viscosity was about 8 kcal/mole. The apparent viscosity of the cowpea sediment dispersion heated to 95$^{\circ}C$ and held for 20 min showed a linear relation with the 20 min height at 92.5$^{\circ}C$ by viscoamylograph.

Continuous Viscosity Measurement of Non-Newtonian Fluids over a Range of Shear Rates Using a Mass-Detecting Capillary Viscometer

  • A newly designed mass-detecting capillary viscometer uses a novel concept to continuously measure non-Newtonian fluids viscosity over a range of shear rates. A single measurement of liquid-mass variation with time replaces the now rate and pressure drop measurements that are usually required by capillary tube viscometers. Using a load cell and a capillary, we measured change in the mass flow rate through a capillary tube with respect to the time, m(t), from which viscosity and shear rate were mathematically calculated. For aqueous polymer solutions, excellent agreement was found between the results from the mass-detecting capillary viscometer and those from a commercially available rotating viscometer. This new method overcomes the drawbacks of conventional capillary viscometers meassuring non-Newtonian fluid viscosity. First, the mass-detecting capillary viscometer can accurately and consistently measure non -Newtonian viscosity over a wide range of shear rate extending as low as 1 s$\^$-1/. Second, this design provides simplicity (i. e., ease of operation, no moving parts), and low cost.

An experimental study and new correlations of viscosity of ethylene glycol-water based nanofluid at various temperatures and different solid concentrations

  • This article presents an experimental study on the effect of temperature and solid volume fraction of nanoparticles on the dynamic viscosity for the CuO/EG-water nanofluid. Nanoparticles with diameter of 40 nm are used in the present study to prepare nanofluid by two-step method. A "Brookfield viscometer" has been used to measure the dynamic viscosity of nanofluid with solid volume fraction up to 2% at the temperature range between 20 to $60^{\circ}C$. The findings have shown that dynamic viscosity of nanofluid increases with increasing particle volume fraction and decreasing temperature. Nine different correlations are developed on experimental data point to predict the relative dynamic viscosity of nanofluid at different temperatures. To make sure of accuracy of the proposed correlations, margin of deviation is presented at the end of this study. The results show excellent agreement between experimental data and those obtained through the correlations.

Effect of Zeta-Potential on the Viscosity of Clay-Water Suspension

  • Viscosity and zeta-potential of 11.0 wt. % aqueous bentonite suspension containing various electrolytes and hydrogen-ion concentration were measured by using a Couette type automatic rotational viscometer and Zeta Meter, respectively. The effects of pH and elcctrolytes on the rheological properties of the suspension were investigated. A system, which has a large zeta-potcntial, has a small intrinsic relaxation time ${\beta}$ and a small intrinsic shear modulus $1/{\alpha}$ in the Ree-Eyring generalized viscosity equation, i.e., such a system has a small viscosity value, since ${\eta}={\beta}/{\alpha}$. In general, a stable suspension system has large zeta-potential. The stability condition of clay-water suspension can be estimated by viscometric method since stable suspension generally has small viscosity. The correlation between the stability, viscosity and zeta-potential has been explained by the Ree-Eyring theory of viscous flow.

유압유 점도가 액추에이터 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Viscosity of Hydraulic Oil on the Performance of Actuator)

  • Hydraulic actuator is a primary component of the hydraulic valve systems. In this study, the thrust performance of hydraulic actuator was studied with different values of viscosity of hydraulic oil and rod diameter. Numerical analysis was performed using the commercial CFD code, ANSYS with 2-way FSI(Fluid-Structure Interaction) method and $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model. Results show that increase in viscosity of hydraulic oil reduces the thrust of hydraulic actuator. In order to satisfy the output required of the actuator, it is necessary to compensate for the operating pressure. The results of pressure, velocity and thrust efficiency distributions in the hydraulic actuator were graphically depicted.

졸-겔법을 이용한 Al2O3가 분산된 TZP 단섬유의 제조 (Fabrication of Discontinuous Al2O3-Dispersed TZP Fibers by a Sol-Gel Method)

  • Discontinuous, polycrystalline $Al_2O_3$-dispersed TZP fibers were prepared by the centrifugal spinning of a colloidal $ZrO_2$ sol containing Y and Al nitrates and poly(vinyl alcohol). Factors affecting the rheological properties of the sols, such as sol concentrations, aging, and the amounts and types of additives, were investigated by measuring the shear viscosities. The flow characteristics of the sols were studied in relation to the spinnability by measuring the viscosity with respect to the shear rate. The spinnability was obtained through the addition of a polymer which increases the viscosity to a range of optimum viscosity values for spinning. Aging the sols containing the additives did not noticeably change the sol viscosities at room temperature up to 30 days. The flow behavior of the spinnable sols progressively changed from nearly Newtonian to pseudoplastic with an increase in the sol concentration.

유체의 점도변화가 펌프성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Fluid Viscosity Changes on Pump Performances)

  • In order to analyse the effect of the fluid viscosity changes on the centrifugal pump, the computer simulation method and the performance correction chart are used. The centrifugal pump is designed using the traditional method, and the 3D computational grid is generated for the impeller and casing. Working fluids are water, high viscous oil and muddy water. The viscosity of muddy water is measured by the unsteady capillary tube viscometer. The pump performances are predicted well through the computer simulation. The performance curves of head and efficiency for oil and muddy water are decreased. The torques of oil and muddy water, which is calculated by performance correction chart are predicted at a lower value than the computer simulation.
