  • VM(Virtual Machine) can be considered as a software processor which interprets the abstract machine code. Also, it is considered as a conceptional computer that consists of logical system configuration. But, the execution speed of VM system is much slower than that of a real processor system. So, it is very important to optimize the code for virtual machine to enhance the execution time. In this paper, we designed and implemented the optimizer for the virtual(or abstract) machine code(VMC) which is actually SIL(Standard Intermediate Language) that is an intermediate code of EVM(Embedded Virtual Machine). The optimizer uses the pattern matching optimization techniques reflecting the characteristics of the VMC as well as adopting the existing optimization methodology. Also, we tried a benchmark test for the VMC optimizer and obtained reasonable results.

  • The purpose of this study is to create a 3D avatar from 3D human body shape data using the CLO 3D virtual clothing program and to verify the feasibility of avatar production using the virtual clothing system for verifying size and shape. The research method was to select one virtual representative model that is the closest to the mean size of each body item for each age group. Using the 3D human body scan shape of a 40-69 years old male was applied to the CLO 3D virtual wearing system. Using the CLO 3D Avatar conversion menu, we verified the feasibility of creating a 3D avatar that reproduces the human body scan shape. In the dimension comparison between the 3D avatar and the fictitious representative model, the dimension difference was noticeable in height, circumference, and length. However, as a result, the converted 3D avatar showed less than a 5% difference in most human dimensions. In addition, since the body shape and posture were reproduced similarly, the utilization of the avatar was verified.

  • 3D sound is of central importance for the virtual reality system, and is becoming increasingly important for the auditory displays and for the human-computer interaction. In this paper, we propose a novel real-time 3D sound representation system for virtual reality. At first, we propose a calculation method of the impulse response for virtual space. To transmit the information of the virtual space, we propose an enhanced DXF file type that contains the material information. And then, we implement the multi-channel sound panning system. we perform the experiment based on computer simulation and prove the utility of the proposed method.

  • Special training soldier for thermal equipment during army heavy equipment maintenance education is small training equipment and many trainees have few opportunities for practical training, and there is a high risk of safety accidents during maintenance training. Because practical training is limited and repeated practice is difficult, a training system is needed. In this study, we propose a virtual training system that can reduce the training cost beyond the time and space, enable realistic experiential training, reflect the standard maintenance manual, and train teamwork. The virtual training system using the virtual augmented reality is a system that can reduce the cost beyond the space and time and can be practically practiced. The first-person virtual training system using HMD, which is the three-dimensional display system proposed in this study, is suitable for army thermal equipment maintenance education system. The proposed system is expected to be useful for maintenance training of other equipments and other groups because it has good scalability.

  • In this paper, to provide a method and system for providing a network separation virtual machine environment. How to provide this virtual machine environment include phase generating necessary virtual resource requirement for the perform of virtual function and transfer to network changing protocol about request of registration virtual resource. For this reason, Registration procedure is to use a virtual machine for a virtual computing resource allocation and separation combined network any time, it became possible between servers and clients, or mobile phone. At any time, it is possible to process the work in the same environment as in a computer to access the Internet.

  • This paper describes the quantitative analysis on the improvement of equilibrium sensory using virtual bicycle system. We have used a virtual bicycle system that combines virtual reality technology with a bicycle. In this experiment, 10 subjects were tested to investigate the influencing factors on equilibrium sensory. Straight road and curved road driving at several factors including cycling time, number of times of path deviation, and center of pressure(COP) were extracted and evaluated to quantify the extent of control. Also, To improve the effect of balance training, we investigated the usefulness of virtual feedback information by weight shift. The result showed that the system could be effective for equilibrium sensory rehabilitation training device. The analysis method might also have wider applicability to the rehabilitation field.

  • This paper presented a virtual manufacturing simulation system by using Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) and Finite Element Method(FEM). The system is to simulate forging operation. Stress distributions and deformation profiles as well as the operation of forging machine can be simulated and visualized in the web. Since the forging machine, user interface, and specimen were modeled by using Java and VRML, the forging machine and analysis results were browsed and integrated on the web that is interfaced to users through EAI to show the whole forging simulation. The developed system realized the working environment virtually so that education and experiment of forging process could be performed effectively even on the PC.

  • In this paper, we investigated 2-DOF haptic device and the method of virtual environment modeling for virtual reality. We designed an modified five bar link system to improve the performance. The haptic control system is composed of calculating kinematics and statics, controlling actuator, and describing the virtual environment. Using this system, we realized the virtual spring model and the freely falling ball model.
