RTEMS 오픈소스 운영체제를 위한 virtio 네트워크 드라이버 개발 (Development of virtio Network Driver for RTEMS Open-Source Operating System)

  • RTEMS는 GPLv2 기반의 라이선스를 사용하는 오픈소스 실시간 운영체제로 인공위성과 같은 항공우주 분야의 시스템에서 사용된다. 이러한 시스템들은 하드웨어 플랫폼과 관련된 문제로 인해 개발 환경 구축이 어려우며, 가상화 기술을 통해 이를 해결할 수 있다. 그러나 가상화 오버헤드로 인한 실행 시간증가와 성능 저하가 실시간 응용의 시간 동작을 변화시키며, 따라서 이를 최소화해야한다. 본 논문에서는 RTEMS를 위한 virtio front-end 네트워크 드라이버를 구현하여 네트워크 I/O 가상화 오버헤드를 완화시킨다. 또한 구현된 드라이버를 오픈소스 소프트웨어 기여를 위해 RTEMS 커뮤니티에 제출하는 과정과 커뮤니티의 다양한 요구사항들을 반영하는 과정을 설명한다.

생리신호 측정기법을 이용한 Joystick 운전방식의 HMI 평가연구 (A Study on HMI Assessment of Joystick Driving System Using the Physiological Signal Measurement Method)

  • Recently, the vehicle driving device has been designed for driver's convenience. Especially, the automobile industry develops the vehicle using the joystick instead of steering wheel from the concept car. The biggest strength of using the joystick is that the driver feels less workload and fatigue than when the driver uses steering wheel. However, this kind of study still needs more research and experiments for more accurate result. Therefore, this research evaluated workload according to the driving device by the survey and the measurement of physiological signal. The reason not only using the survey also using the measurement of physiological signal is to support the result of the survey which is not enough to bring the accurate result. There were tow different kinds of methods to carry out this research; SWAT (Subjective Workload Assessment Technique) for the survey and the biopac equipment for the measurement of physiological signal. Furthermore, previously established driving simulator, GPS (Global Positioning System), and Seoul-Cheonan virtual expressway DB were used for the experiment. As the result of the experiment with 13 subjects, it was certain that using joystick device brings less workload and fatigue to the drivers than using steering wheel following both methods-the survey and the measurement of physiological signal. Also, it confirmed the significant result from the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) statistics analysis program.

고속주행상황의 운전자 인지·반응시간에 관한 연구 (A Study on Driver Perception-Reaction Time in High-Speed Driving Situations)

  • PURPOSES : The desire of drivers to increase their driving speeds is increasing in response to the technological advancements in vehicles and roads. Therefore, studies are being conducted to increase the maximum design speed in Korea to 140 km/h. The stopping sight distance (SSD) is an important criterion for acquiring sustained road safety in road design. Moreover, although the perception-reaction time (PRT) is a critical variable in the calculation of the SSD, there are not many current studies on PRT. Prior to increasing the design speed, it is necessary to confirm whether the domestic PRT standard (2.5 s) is applicable to high-speed driving. Thus, in this study, we have investigated the influence of high-speed driving on PRT. METHODS : A driving simulator was used to record the PRT of drivers. A virtual driving map was composed using UC-Win/Road software. Experiments were carried out at speeds of 100, 120, and 140 km/h while assuming the following three driving scenarios according to driver expectation: Expected, Unexpected, and Surprised. Lastly, we analyzed the gaze position of the driver as they drove in the simulated environment using Smarteye. RESULTS : Driving simulator experimental results showed that the PRT of drivers decreased as driving speed increased from 100 km/h to 140 km/h. Furthermore, the gaze position analysis results demonstrated that the decrease in PRT of drivers as the driving speed increased was directly related to their level of concentration. CONCLUSIONS : In the experimental results, 85% of drivers responded within 2.0 s at a driving speed of 140 km/h. Thus, the results obtained here verify that the current domestic standard of 2.5 s can be applied in the highways designated to have 140 km/h maximum speed.

고령운전자 운전정보전달을 위한 차량용 햅틱시트 연구 (Study on Vehicle Haptic-Seat for the Driving Information Transfer to Driver for the Elderly)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 시/청각 방식의 운전정보 전달체계의 한계를 극복하고 더불어 교통약자들의 운전수행에 도움이 되는 자동차용 햅틱 시트 기술을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 동전형 모터 30개를 사용한 진동자극용 시트커버형 시제품과 모터드라이버모듈을 제작하였고 65세 이상의 고령 피험자들을 대상으로 실시한 가상운전상황에서의 시트진동자극에 대한 실험에서는 피험자들의 전체 진동인지 점수 평균은 3.5/4점으로 87.5%의 인지율을 보여주었다. 또한 모든 피험자가 4번의 과속경고신호를 모두 인지하는 결과를 보여주었다. Trail Making Test 점수에 따른 그룹별 진동인지점수에 대한 통계분석 결과 유의한 차이가 발견되지 않았고 시각기능과 인지기능이 저하된 고령자라도 진동을 인지하는 촉각기능은 동등한 능력을 보여주는 결과를 얻었으며 이 결과는 고령운전자에 대한 차량 내에서의 시트를 통한 진동자극의 운전정보 유용성을 보여주는 것으로 사료된다.

Automated Assessment System for Train Simulators

  • Numerous train operating companies provide training by means of driving simulators. A detailed analysis in the course of the rail research project 2TRAIN has shown that the simulation technology, the purposes of training and the overall concept of simulator-based training are rather diverse (Schmitz & Maag, 2008). A joint factor however are weak assessment capabilities and the fact that the simulator training is often not embedded into the overall competence management. This fact hinders an optimal use of the simulators. Therefore, 2TRAIN aims at the development of enhanced training and assessment tools. Taking into account that several simulators are already in use, the focus lays on the extension of existing simulation technology instead of developing entirely new systems. This extension comprises (1) a common data simulation interface (CDSI), (2) a rule-based expert system (ExSys), (3) a virtual instructor (VI), and (4) an _assessment database (AssDB). The foundation of this technical development is an assessment concept (PERMA concept) that is based on performance markers. The first part of the paper presents this assessment concept and a process model for the two major steps of driver performance assessment, i.e. (1) the specification of exercise and assessment and (2) the assessment algorithm and execution of the assessment. The second part describes the rationale and the functionalities of the simulator add-on tools. Finally, recommendations for further technical improvement and appropriate usage are given. based on the results of a pilot study.

저상굴절버스 조향시스템 전자제어장치의 테스트플랫폼 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Test Platform for AWS (All-Wheel-Steering) ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of the Bi-modal Tram)

  • In the development process of an ECU (Electrical Control Unit), numerous tests are necessary to evaluate the performance and control algorithm. The vehicle based test is expensive and requires long time. Also, it is difficult to guarantee the safety of the test driver. To overcome the various problems faced in the development process, the ECU test has been done using HIL (Hardware In the Loop). The HIL environment has the actual hardware including an ECU and a virtual vehicle model. In this paper, the test platform environment is devloped for the AWS ECU black box test. The test platform is built on HIL (Hardware In the Loop) architecture. Using the developed test platform, the control algorithm of the AWS ECU can be evaluated under the virtual driving condition of the bi-modal tram. Driving conditions, such as a front steering angle and vehicle velocity, are defined through the PC (Personal Computer) input. Input signals are transformed to electrical signals in the PC. These signals become the input conditions of the AWS ECU. The AWS ECU is stimulated by arbitory input conditons, and responses of the system are observed.

  • IT기술의 발전에 따른 각종 산업에서의 유비쿼터스 도입이 이루어지고 있다 특히 자동차 산업에서 유비쿼터스 환경 도입을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으며, BMW의 경우 유비쿼터스 환경 기반의 운전자지원시스템을 연구한바 있다. 조선산업에서 유비쿼터스 환경을 구축하고자 유비쿼터스 기반의 혼합현실을 제시한다. 혼합현실은 현실과 가상이 융합된 환경으로 현실에 기반을 두었을 때 증강현실이라고 하며, 이것은 현실세계에 가상의 물체를 오버랩하여 보여줌으로써 보다 현실감을 높여주는 기술이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 해양구조물에서의 효과적인 검자 지원을 위하여 증강현실 기술을 활용하였으며 프로토 타입을 구축해 봄으로 그 활용 가능성을 판단해 보고자 한다.

기가비트 이더넷상에서의 M-VIA 구현 (M-VIA Implementation on a Gigabit Ethernet Card)

  • 클러스터들을 연결시키는 통신 모델로 업계 표준인 VIA(Virtual Interface Architecture)가 있다. VIA의 소프트웨어적인 구현으로는 M-VIA를 대표적으로 들 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 TCP/IP를 지원하는 기존의 AceNIC 기가비트 이더넷 카드의 디바이스 드라이버에 수정을 가하여 M-VIA를 지원할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 그리고 M-VIA의 데이터 세그멘테이션 과정을 분석하여 기가비트 이더넷 카드가 1514 bytes이상의 MTU를 지원할 경우, 기존의 M-VIA 뎨이터 세그멘데이션 크기가 가지는 문제점을 보이며 이를 개선하기 위해 MTU와 M-VIA 데이터 세그멘테이션 크기를 다르게 해서 실험하였고 그 성능을 비교하였다.

자동차 시뮬레이터의 운동감에 대한 감성평가 (Human Sensibility Ergonomic Evaluation of Sense of Motion Perceived in a Vehicle Simulator)

  • The vehicle simulator is a useful virtual reality system. The simulator enables engineers to effectively research and analyze various experiments. Therefore, the development of a specific vehicle simulator is required, and its performance must be verified. This paper verifies the performance of Pusan National University Vehicle Simulator. Human sensibility ergonomic tests of vehicle simulator were also executed. The sense of simulator motion was chosen as the standard of performance evaluation. The driver's senses were subdivided into senses of rectilinear and rotational velocities. This study extracted ergonomic sensibility words that can be used to evaluate the performance of the simulator As a practical application of simulator, the relation was studied between the sense of simulator motion and the characteristics of drivers, who are classified into their sexes and driving careers. A statistical method was applied to human sensibility ergonomic tests of vehicle simulator.

실사고 기반 자동긴급제동장치 차량의 교차로 사고 경향 분석 (Analysis of Intersection Accident Trend of Autonomous Emergency Braking system Vehicle based on Actual Accident)

  • The purpose of this study is to predict how the actual accident changes by reconstructing the accident with an Autonomous Emergency Braking system (AEB) based on the actual accident of the LTAP-OD (Left Turn Crossing Path - Opponent Direction) intersection. A virtual AEB sensor was developed, and 150 head-on collision accident reports were secured to the insurance company to reconstruct the accident. As a result of the accident type analysis, a total of 13 types of head-on collision accidents were derived, and it is the LTAP-OD intersection accident with the highest frequency. In the LTAP-OD intersection accident, the simulation was conducted by applying the virtual AEB of each vehicle, the accident rate decreased by 90% or more when the AEB of the left-turn vehicle was applied, and the accident rate decreased by 50%. In addition, the most frequent collision types in LTAP-OD accidents were the front bumper on the driver's side of a vehicle going straight and the front bumper on the passenger's side of a vehicle turning left.
