A study on the cutting surface roughness measurement by image processing (이미지프로세싱을 이용한 가공면의 표면거칠기 측정에 관한 연구)

  • Many of non-contact measuring systems are used to estimate surface characteristics owing to their advantages of high speed and undanaged test. In this paper, a new measuring system is proposed to acquire image from CCD camera through back light illumination. Lowpass filter is very useful in view of noise removal and optimum binary image can be made through histogram equalization which is one of the histogram technique to maximize brightness intensity between workpiece and background. Laplacian operator is used to detect workpiece edge from binary image. In case of image treatment applying Laplacian operator, surface roughness is calculated by introducing conversion coefficient for coordinate of pixel which edge is composed of. In summary, the work is concerned with the development of a new technique for roughness measurement by the image processing in turning.

The Logic of Japan's Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with ASEAN

  • Among political scientists, Japan's free trade agreements (FTA) with member nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has been considered to be a political tool that can compete against China for regional leadership in East Asia. However, this paper demonstrates that Japan's so-called FTA diplomacy towards ASEAN nations serves the broad interests of Japanese actors in both the political and economic sectors. Given the attention to Japanese domestic political issues, it is argued that diplomacy primarily facilitates a need for free trade with ASEAN and ASEAN markets for Japanese corporations to compete in the global economy and for the government to nurture Japan's stagnant economy by assisting these corporations. This work also contends that the unclear function of FTA as an economic good is due to the lack of the government capacity to effectively manage FTA diplomacy. This partly results from the conventional view with regard to Sino-Japanese rivalry.

A Study on Childrearing Belief and Parental Efficacy (출산 전후 여성의 양육관련 신념 및 부모 효능감에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between childrearing belief and parental efficacy of women before and after childbirth. For this purpose 253 pregnant women and 256 mothers with infants under one year of age were contacted and asked to fill in a packet of survey questionnaire at their visits to obstetrician, gynecologist and pediatrician. The questionnaire includes questions about what mothers value in childrearing, their expectations for their children and parental efficacy. Data collected were analyzed using SAS PC program. It was reported that comparing to mothers, pregnant women view childrearing in more ideal lights and expect their children to be more exceptional. Also working mothers reported comparatively lower parental efficacy than full-time mothers suggesting that social support system to minimize pressure coming from work for working mothers with young children should be provided and the parental education methods to enhance the parental efficacy should be sought.

  • This study aims to examine residents' satisfaction and behavioral condition at the commercial street of Historic and Cultural Environmental Districts in Gyeongju. To achieve this, the study relied on empirical study method and additionally, present condition survey was performed with a user interview. residents' satisfaction and preferences analysis was conducted to figure out present conditions and improvements. This work has completed a total analysis of the architectural characteristics and street factors among various factors which influence residents' satisfaction level including physical street equipments and street view factors which are main contents of previous studies and street improvement project. Using statistical analysis, each factor's significance was verified quantitatively. Accordingly, this study presents prior consideration points before planning the commercial street improvement project and the region development project.

  • The checkpointing scheme is a well-known technique to cope with transient faults in digital systems. This paper proposes an adaptive checkpointing scheme for the reliability improvement of real-time control systems. The proposed adaptive checkpointing scheme is based on the previous work about the reliability problem of an equidistant checkpointing scheme. For the derivation of the adaptive scheme, some conditions are introduced which are to be satisfied for the reliability improvement by exploiting an equidistant checkpointing scheme. Numerical data show the proposed adaptive scheme outperforms the equidistant scheme from a reliability point of view.

  • In this article, we prove coincidence point theorems for comparable 𝜓-contractive mappings in ordered non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces utilizing the recently established concept of 𝓣-comparability and relatively weaker order theoretic variants. With a view to show the usefulness and applicability of this work, we solve the system of ordered Fredholm integral equations as an application. In the process, this presentation generalize and improve some prominent recent results obtained in Mihet [Fuzzy Sets Syst., 159 (6), 739-744, (2008)], Altun and Mihet [ Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2010, 782680, (2010)], Alam and Imdad [Fixed Point Theory, 18(2), 415-432, (2017)] and several others in the settings of partially ordered non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces.

Comparison of Biomechanical Stability of Custom-made Hip Implants using Finite Element Analysis (스템 길이에 따른 환자맞춤 인공고관절의 역학적 안정성 비교)

  • Designing a morphologically well-fitted hip implant to a patient anatomy is desirable to improve surgical outcomes since a commercial ready-made hip implant may not well conform to the patient joint. In this study, biomechanical stability of patient-specific hip implants with two different stem lengths was compared and discussed using a 3D finite element analysis (FEA). The FEA results in this study showed that an increase in stem length brings about more the peaked von-Mises stress (PVMS) in the prosthesis and less in the femur. However the decrease in von-Mises stress in the femur causes stress shielding phenomenon that usually leads to considerable bone resorption. Although, in biomechanical stability point of view, this work recommends the use of smaller stems, the length of stem must be determined by considering both the von-Mises stress and the stress-shielding phenomenon.

  • This paper presents a neuro adaptive control method for nonlinear dynamical systems based on artificial neural network systems. The proposed neuro adaptive controller consists of 3 layers artificial neural network system and parallel PD controller. At the early stage in learning or identification process of the system characteristics the PD controller works mainly in order to compensate for the inadequacy of the learning process and then gradually the neuro contrller begins to work instead of the PD controller after the learning process has proceeded. From the simulation studies the neuro adaptive controller is seen to be robust and works effectively for nonlinear dynamical systems from a practical applicational points of view.

  • Thesedays, the reduction of hand-transmitted vibration of hand-held power tools is important issue for operators' welfare, In the study, frequency response function is measured and vibration total value is evaluated for solving the principle and effect of the BOSCH's vibration-proof handle. This handle functions as a dynamic damper and has the effect, 22% vibration total value reduction under idling condition using a system that consists of a PC with data acquisition system and LabVIEW program. The program in the system makes it possible to evaluate vibration total value according to ISO 5349. This handle offers a good example for figuring out the physical contradiction between the work efficiency and operators' health.

  • The investment for industrial disasters prevention can not help but get accomplished in negative way. At this point, the most effective way to diminish industrial disaster outbreak is the very subject should strive to prevent it by itself However, it's still the times that we place more weight on economic development no economic subject would not positively self-participate in it for the investment for industrial disasters prevention without my effect of numerical reduction. In this view, this study will tv to entirely analyze and grasp the economic toss due to industrial disasters at construction sites, and will present the most suitable safety-investment. As a result, in domestic construction sites, averagely $1.6\~2.6\%$ of the entire construction expenses had been invested for safety expense. The according to the result of the analysis, basically this safety investment expenses should be spent $2.4\%$ over to reduce the saffey-accidents stably.
