키넥트를 이용한 다시점 영상 생성 시뮬레이션 프로그램 개발 (Development of a Multi-view Image Generation Simulation Program Using Kinect)

  • 최근 안경을 쓰지 않고 3차원 입체 영상을 볼 수 있는 무안경식 3차원 디스플레이 중에서 DIBR(Depth-Image-Based Rendering) 기반의 중간 영상을 생성하는 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. DIBR 기반의 중간 영상 생성 방법은 정확한 깊이 정보를 요구하기 때문에 기존의 연구에서는 고가의 깊이 카메라를 활용하였다. 본 연구에서는 마이크로소프트사의 키넥트 센서를 이용한 실사 영상과 깊이 영상을 기반으로 다시점 중간 영상을 생성할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이 시뮬레이션은 키넥트(Kinect)를 활용한 저해상도의 깊이 영상으로부터 자연스러운 다시점 영상을 획득하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 이를 위해 생성된 영상의 품질을 평가할 수 있는 기능을 통합적으로 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시뮬레이션 프로그램의 시스템 구조와 구현에 대해서 설명한다.

Evaluation of GPU Computing Capacity for All-in-view GNSS SDR Implementation

  • In this study, we design an optimized Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)-based GNSS signal processing technique with the goal of designing and implementing a GNSS Software Defined Receiver (SDR) that can operate in real time all-in-view mode under multi-constellation and multi-frequency signal environment. In the proposed structure the correlators of the existing GNSS SDR are processed by the GPU. We designed a memory structure and processing method that can minimize memory access bottlenecks and optimize the GPU memory resource distribution. The designed GNSS SDR can select and operate only the desired GNSS or desired satellite signals by user input. Also, parameters such as the number of quantization bits, sampling rate, and number of signal tracking arms can be selected. The computing capability of the designed GPU-based GNSS SDR was evaluated and it was confirmed that up to 2400 channels can be processed in real time. As a result, the GPU-based GNSS SDR has sufficient performance to operate in real-time all-in-view mode. In future studies, it will be used for more diverse GNSS signal processing and will be applied to multipath effect analysis using more tracking arms.

국가연구개발사업 메타평가모형 설계와 응용 (The Design and Application of a Meta-evaluation Model for National R&D Programs)

  • 국가연구개발사업에 대한 메타평가는 과학기술수요와 목표와 연계된 국가전체의 연구개발시스템의 틀 안에서 구축되어야 한다. 연구개발사업평가시스템은 투입, 수행, 산출, 활용의 전 과정으로 이해될 수 있다. 전문가 24명이 참여한 전문가 델파이기법을 통하여 24개의 평가지표가 개발되었다. 메타평가 모델은 중요한 관점 8개의 하위시스템을 포함하고 있다. 8개 하위시스템에는 기획의 적실성, 정보의 충실성, 평가투입에서 평가자의 적정성, 평가수행과정과 방법의 적절성, 평가활용보고와 응용의 유용성 등이 포함된다. 메타평가모형의 활용방법으로서 평정점수의 평균은 5점척도 기준으로 2.73이며, 이는 평가점수의 중앙값 3.0보다 낮게 나타났다. 평가결과의 환류는 연구개발프로그램의 개선에 특별히 강화될 것을 제언한다.

Kansei Evaluation by a Remote-Controlled Robot Designed for Viewing Art Exhibits

  • The present study is part of the Special Research Project for the Construction of a Kansei Sensory Evaluation Model that is currently underway at the University of Tsukuba. In this study, a robot was operated by remote control at an actual art museum as part of a preliminary experiment. The results obtained therefrom were used to consider how people might view exhibits. In a previous study, a standard lens and s wide-angle lens were used to analyze differences in sensory-based movements, while VRML was used to analyze differences in these movements between a virtual and an actual museum. In the present study, the time delay in remote operation, which is currently unavoidable, placed some restrictions on the degree of freedom with which exhibits could be viewed, but it was apparent that sensory evaluation could be possible depending on the search behavior and viewing time. Furthermore specific viewing behaviors using the robot were observed, suggesting that new Kansei sensory perceptions were derived from these behaviors.

  • Several mechanisms are introduced for the procurement of capacity adequacy. In the competitive electricity market, however, it is a GENCO that makes generation investment decision. A GENCO will invest a new generator when it can get more profit than cost. There requires a model to evaluate profit with respect to a new generation investment. In the view of long-term investment, evaluation of a profit of a generator in the electricity market is quite different from that of short-term operation. In this paper, a new profit-evaluation model is proposed for the long-term generation investment. It can treat the probabilistic characteristics of generators, ie, forced-outage-rates, which affect profit of generators.

  • A sustainable evaluation and planning method shall have an integrative methodology for analysis of interrelationship among environmental resource uses and natural conditions during the planning process. However, there are few methods for understanding or achieving sustainable planning in residential development projects for most planner/architects. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate theories of the concept of environmental carrying capacity based on the ecological view, to propose a sustainable planning method for evaluation and planning of environmental sustainability in residential development projects, to analyze interrelationship of selected environmental resources to represent an environmental carrying capacity for a residential development project based on the proposed sustainable planning method. Finally, through the case studies of a high-density housing project located near Seoul Metropolitan area, the existing case and a sustainable case were analysed by the proposed method.

  • In Korea, most of the historic city became a deteriorated area with low-rise settlement. It is revaluated as a s great potential in spite of slum clearance and redevelopment for a long while after 1970s. A great achievement for low rise multi family housing, in spite of these social change, is not easy to find the cases and social commonness. In the view points, this article deals a ideal model in historic areas, and the model should be get the understanding from the people, because acceptance from people is the beginning for making historic housing areas. The facade model for evaluation prepared as three types, and responses for the models processed by AHP(Analysis Hierarchy Process).

공항지상업무시스템에 대한 서비스 수준의 평가 (Service Level Evaluation for the Airport Landside System)

  • The new concept of level of service for the airport system indicates that there must be strong stimulation to proceed with the current stereotyped service standards which are being criticised due to their being based on, either physical capacity/volume or temporal/spatial standards that directly incorporates the perception of passengers. Quantitative factors have been dealt with the main service measurements when evaluating level of service. However, the passenger's perception for the provision service at the airport system is definitely important consideration to assess level of service. To enhance the reliability of service level evaluation from the passenger's point of view, this study has adopted three main evaluation factors ; temporal/spatial factors as quantitative measurements and comfort and reasonable service factors as qualitative measurements. The multi-decision model was constructed using Fuzzy Set Theory and applied to a case study at Seoul Kimpo International Airport. Results are presented in terms of passenger satisfaction with a variety of different values.

  • This paper presents the concepts developed to propose Distributed Control System(DCS). To achieve adequate satisfaction under various conditions, the DCS should be designed from two points of view of functions distributions and performance planning. Performance evaluation criteria can be specified by the response time between units and the utilization of each unit. One has to also consider the ease and the cost of installation, maintenance, repair. Based on these characteristics, different system configuration can be evaluated and compared through results about evaluation criteria in order lo select the best DCS for particular process. The results, in abbreviated form, of the simulation DCS controlling a CAL(Continuos Annealing Line) plant of iron process ate presented.

  • 2 DOF half-car model with 6 semi-active suspension units is utilized to evaluate the tracked vehicle dynamic performance simulated by several suspension control algorithms. The target of this research is to improve the ride comfort to maintain operator's handling capability when the tracked vehicle travels fast on the rough road. The control algorithms for suspension systems, such as full state feedback active, full state feedback semi-active, sky-hook active, sky-hook semi-active, and on-off systems, are evaluated and analyzed in view point of ride comfort. The dynamic performances of vehicle are expressed and evaluated by vibratory characteristic evaluation curves, performance indices and frequency characteristic curves. The simulation results show that the performances of sky-hook algorithms for ride comfort nearly follow those of full state feedback algorithms and on-off algorithm is recommendatory when the vehicle runs relatively fast.
