To manage large database system with video, effective video indexing and retrieval are required. A large number of video retrieval algorithms have been presented for frame-wise user query or video content query, whereas a few video identification algorithms have been proposed for video sequence query. In this paper, we propose an effective video identification algorithm for video sequence query that employs the Cauchy function of histograms between successive frames and the modified Hausdorff distance. To effectively match the video sequences with a low computational load, we make use of the key frames extracted by the cumulative Cauchy function and compare the set of key frames using the modified Hausdorff distance. Experimental results with several color video sequences show that the proposed algorithm for video identification yields remarkably higher performance than conventional algorithms such as Euclidean metric, and directed divergence methods.
In this paper, we propose a novel way of combining multiple deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) architectures which work well for accurate video face identification by adopting a serial combination of 3D and 2D DCNNs. The proposed method first divides an input video sequence (to be recognized) into a number of sub-video sequences. The resulting sub-video sequences are used as input to the 3D DCNN so as to obtain the class-confidence scores for a given input video sequence by considering both temporal and spatial face feature characteristics of input video sequence. The class-confidence scores obtained from corresponding sub-video sequences is combined by forming our proposed class-confidence matrix. The resulting class-confidence matrix is then used as an input for learning 2D DCNN learning which is serially linked to 3D DCNN. Finally, fine-tuned, serially combined DCNN framework is applied for recognizing the identity present in a given test video sequence. To verify the effectiveness of our proposed method, extensive and comparative experiments have been conducted to evaluate our method on COX face databases with their standard face identification protocols. Experimental results showed that our method can achieve better or comparable identification rate compared to other state-of-the-art video FR methods.

With the development of imaging information communication technology in modern society, imaging acquisition and mass production technology have developed rapidly. However, crime rates using these technology are increased and forensic studies are conducted to prevent it. Identification techniques for image acquisition devices are studied a lot, but the field is limited to images. In this paper, camera model identification technique for video, not image is proposed. We analyzed video frames using the trained model with images. Through training and analysis by considering the frame characteristics of video, we showed the superiority of the model using the P frame. Then, we presented a video camera model identification system by applying a majority-based decision algorithm. In the experiment using 5 video camera models, we obtained maximum 96.18% accuracy for each frame identification and the proposed video camera model identification system achieved 100% identification rate for each camera model.
In this paper, we propose a scheme to associate content-based video signature with Universal Content Identifier (UCI) system of broadcast content for copyright identification and management. Note that content-based video signature can identify a previously distributed content since it is directly extracted from content itself without allocation process of identifier such as UCI. Thus, we design the schema of UCI application metadata, which provides a video signature in order to consistently maintain a systemic link between UCI and the video signature. Also, we present the scenarios of copyright identification, management and additional service, which are based on transmission and management mechanism of video signature with UCI identification system.

This paper proposes a method for identification of harmful video images based on the degree of harmfulness in the video content. To extract harmful candidate frames from the video effectively, we used a video color extraction method applying a projection map. The procedure for identifying the harmful video has five steps, first, extract the I-frames from the video and map them onto projection map. Next, calculate the similarity and select the potentially harmful, then identify the harmful images by comparing the similarity measurement value. The method estimates similarity between the extracted frames and normative images using the critical value of the projection map. Based on our experimental test, we propose how the harmful candidate frames are extracted and compared with normative images. The various experimental data proved that the image identification method based on the 2-dimensional projection map is superior to using the color histogram technique in harmful image detection performance.

Multimedia such as image, audio, and video is easy to create and distribute with the advance of IT. Since novice uses them for illegal purposes, multimedia forensics are required to protect contents and block illegal usage. This paper presents a multimedia forensic algorithm for video to identify the device used for acquiring unknown video files. First, the way to calculate a sensor pattern noise using Wiener filter (W-SPN) is presented, which comes from the imperfection of photon detectors against light. Then, the way to identify the device is explained after estimating W-SPNs from the reference device and the unknown video. For the experiment, 30 devices including DSLR, compact camera, smartphone, and camcorder are tested and analyzed quantitatively. Based on the results, the presented algorithm can achieve the 96.0% identification accuracy.
Recently, the value of video as an important data of medical information technology is increasing due to the feature of rich clinical information. On the other hand, video is also required to be de-identified as a medical image, but the existing methods are mainly specialized in the stereotyped data and still images, which makes it difficult to apply the existing methods to the video data. In this paper, we propose an automated system to index candidate elements of personal identification information on a frame basis to solve this problem. The proposed system performs indexing process using text and person detection after preprocessing by scene segmentation and color knowledge based method. The generated index information is provided as metadata according to the purpose of use. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, the indexing speed was measured using prototype implementation and real surgical video. As a result, the work speed was more than twice as fast as the playing time of the input video, and it was confirmed that the decision making was possible through the case of the production of surgical education contents.
With the increasing diversity of internet media, available video data have become more convenient and abundant. Related video data-based research has advanced rapidly in recent years owing to advantages such as noncontact, low-cost data acquisition, high spatial resolution, and simultaneity. Additionally, structural nonlinearity extraction has attracted increasing attention as a tool for damage evaluation. This review paper aims to summarize the research experience with the recent developments and applications of video data-based technology for structural nonlinearity extraction and damage evaluation. The most regularly used object detection images and video databases are first summarized, followed by suggestions for obtaining video data on structural nonlinear damage events. Technologies for linear and nonlinear system identification based on video data are then discussed. In addition, common nonlinear damage types in disaster events and prevalent processing algorithms are reviewed in the section on structural damage evaluation using video data uploaded on online platform. Finally, a discussion regarding some potential research directions is proposed to address the weaknesses of the current nonlinear extraction technology based on video data, such as the use of uni-dimensional time-series data as leverage to further achieve nonlinear extraction and the difficulty of real-time detection, including the fields of nonlinear extraction for spatial data, real-time detection, and visualization.
As violent video game is used based on active interaction and involvement of users, it is widely thought that it may have more effect on individual violence and aggressive action than existing violent videos. This study aimed to examine the effect of user experiences in the violent video game such as hostility, anger, arousal, enjoyment and identification on users' aggressive action. For this purpose, the first person FPS shooting game that consists of violent contents was employed to carry out playtest for 80 subjects with 40 male and 40 female university students. As a result, it was found that the user's arousal level, state anger, enjoyment and identification experience by the use of violent video game had an effect on aggressive action. Among factors that have aggressive action in the used of violent video game, besides emotion and arousal, the level of identification with a game character was found to be important effect factor. Hostility factor that was assumed to have effect on aggressive action was not significant, but enjoyment of game was proved to have effect on aggressive action of users.

This paper proposes an artificial intelligence-based personal information area object detection optimization method in an embedded system to de-identify personal information in video data. As an object detection optimization method, first, in order to increase the detection rate for personal information areas when detecting objects, a gyro sensor is used to collect the shooting angle of the image data when acquiring the image, and the image data is converted into a horizontal image through the collected shooting angle. Based on this, each learning model was created according to changes in the size of the image resolution of the learning data and changes in the learning method of the learning engine, and the effectiveness of the optimal learning model was selected and evaluated through an experimental method. As a de-identification method, a shuffling-based masking method was used, and double-key-based encryption of the masking information was used to prevent restoration by others. In order to reuse the original image, the original image could be restored through a security key. Through this, we were able to secure security for high personal information areas and improve usability through original image restoration. The research results of this paper are expected to contribute to industrial use of data without personal information leakage and to reducing the cost of personal information protection in industrial fields using video through de-identification of personal information areas included in video data.
