The objective of this research is to evaluate a feasibility of wastewater reuse by membrane treatment with vibrating membrane separation equipment. Molecular weight of compounds in wastewater, permeability of membrane and retentate characterization after membrane filtration were investigated in order to determine appropriate membrane pore size and materials for wastewater treatment. Selected membrane was evaluated with vibration membrane separation equipment to optimize operating conditions. The following conclusion are drawn. 1. We got as following test results after the distribution of particles in the semiconductor wastewater, are made up of $1\~20{\mu}m$. Si, gold and Al in turn are contained in semiconductor wastewater. 2. Recovery rate is changeless under increasing recovery rate in operation. Though a value can be if pressure can be changed, the highest value of permeate rate is presented in 150 psi. 3. The AS-100(polysulpone) was selected as the most appropriate membranes for the treatment of semi-conductor wastewater to VSEP system. The fouling almost did not occur during this experiments. The analyses of treated water with VSEP system showed conductivity: 0.059,us/cm, TDS: 40mg/l, COD: 20mg/l, SS : 5mg/l, n-Hexane: 8.3mg/l. Comparing previous systems, operating expenses is decreased by more $50\%$.
Flexible stay cables on cable-stayed bridges are three-dimensional. They sag and flex in the complex wind environment, which is a different situation to ideal rigid cylinders in two-dimensional wind flow. Aerodynamic interference and the response characteristics of wake galloping of full-scale parallel cables are potentially different due to three-dimensional flows around cables. This study presents a comprehensive wind tunnel investigation of wake galloping of parallel stay cables using three-dimensional aeroelastic cable models. The wind tunnel study focuses on the large spacing instability range, addressing the effects of cable separation, wind yaw angle, and wind angle of attack on wake galloping response. To investigate the effectiveness of vibration suppression measures, wind tunnel studies on the transversely connected cable systems for two types of connections (flexibility and rigidity) at two positions (mid-span and quarter-span) were also conducted. This experimental study provides useful insights for better understanding the characteristics of wake galloping that will help in establishing a guideline for the wind-resistant design of the cable system on cable-stayed bridges.

Eco-friendly material applied to building would be one of the materials which is must developed for global environmental conservation and reduction of carbon dioxide. For development of eco-friendly material, a cellulose sound-absorbing material has been developed with waste paper through adjustment of various mix proportions. The developed cellulose sound-absorbing material has been tested for its acoustic properties such as acoustic absorptivity and dynamic elastic modulus. The absorptivity was evaluated by developing six samples and using impedance tube and reverberation chamber. As a result of the evaluation, 0.64(NRC) was secured in absorptivity and $4.7MN/m^3$ was indicated in dynamic elastic modulus. Also, for practical use of developed sound-absorbing material as inner heartwood in drywall, comparison test of sound reduction index was performed with existing glass wool sound-absorbing material and constructed drywall of gybsum board. The results have shown 55dB(Rw) of sound reduction index in glass-wool wall and 46dB(Rw) in cellulose.

In this study, in-situ static and dynamic tests of four pre-stressed concrete (PC) track beams with different span lengths and curvatures in a straddle monorail transit system were reported. In the static load tests, the strain and deflection at critical sections of the PC track beams were measured to determine the load bearing capacity and stiffness. The dynamic responses of strain, deflection, acceleration, and displacement at key positions of the PC track beams were measured under different train speeds and train loads to systematically study the dynamic behaviors of the PC track beams. A three-dimensional finite element model of the track beam-vehicle coupled vibration system was established to help understand the dynamic behavior of the system, and the model was verified using the test results. The research results show that the curvature, span length, train speed, and train loads have significant influence on the dynamic responses of the PC track beams. The dynamic performance of the PC track beams in the curve section is susceptible to dynamic loads. Appropriate train loads can effectively reduce the impact of the train on the PC track beam. The PC track beams allow good riding comfort.
Recent generations of smartphones offer accelerometer sensors as a standard feature. While this has led to the development of a number of related applications (apps), there has been no study on their comparative or individual performance against a benchmark. This paper investigates the comparative performance of a number of smartphone accelerometer apps amongst themselves and to a calibrated benchmark accelerometer. A total of 12 apps were selected for testing out of 90 following an initial review. The selected apps were subjected to sinusoidal vibration testing of varying frequency and the response of each compared against the calibrated baseline accelerometer. The performance of apps was quantified using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and test of significance was carried out. The apps were then compared for a realistic dynamic scenario of measuring the acceleration response of a bridge due to the passage of a French Train $\grave{a}$ Grande Vitesse (TGV) in a laboratory environment.
This paper analyses the data collected from the $2^{nd}$ Jindo Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge in Korea that is a structural health monitoring (SHM) international test bed for advanced wireless smart sensors network (WSSN) technology. The SHM system consists of a total of 70 wireless smart sensor nodes deployed underneath of the deck, on the pylons, and on the cables to capture the vibration of the bridge excited by traffic and environmental loadings. Analysis of the data is performed in both the time and frequency domains. Modal properties of the bridge are identified using the frequency domain decomposition and the stochastic subspace identification methods based on the output-only measurements, and the results are compared with those obtained from a detailed finite element model. Tension forces for the 10 instrumented stay cables are also estimated from the ambient acceleration data and compared both with those from the initial design and with those obtained during two previous regular inspections. The results of the data analyses demonstrate that the WSSN-based SHM system performs effectively for this cable-stayed bridge, giving direct access to the physical status of the bridge.
A compact imaging spectrometer (COMIS) was developed for a microsatellite STSAT-3. The satellite is now rescheduled to be launched into a low sun-synchronous Earth orbit (~700 km) by the end of 2012. Its main operational goal is the imaging of the Earth's surface and atmosphere with ground sampling distance of 27 m and 2 - 15 nm spectral resolution over visible and near infrared spectrum (0.4 - 1.05 ${\mu}m$). A flight model of COMIS was developed following an engineering model that had successfully demonstrated hyperspectral imaging capability and structural rigidity. In this paper we report the environmental test results of the flight model. The mechanical stiffness of the model was confirmed by a small shift of the natural frequency i.e., < 1% over 10 gRMS random vibration test. Electrical functions of the model were also tested without showing any anomalies during and after vacuum thermal cycling test with < $10^{-5}$ torr and $-30^{\circ}C\;-\;35^{\circ}C$. The imaging capability of the model, represented by a modulation transfer function (MTF) value at the Nyquist frequency, was also kept unvaried after all those environmental tests.
The paper deals with the results of the laboratory cyclic plate load tests performed on the reinforced soft clay beds. The performances of the clay bed reinforced with geocells and geocells with additional basal geogrid cases are compared with the performance of the unreinforced clay beds. From the cyclic plate load test results, the coefficient of elastic uniform compression ($C_u$) was calculated for the different cases. The $C_u$ value was found to increase in the presence of geocell reinforcement. The maximum increase in the $C_u$ value was observed in the case of the clay bed reinforced with the combination of geocell and geogrid. In addition, 3 times increase in the strain modulus, 10 times increase in the bearing capacity, 8 times increase in the stiffness and 90% reduction in the settlement was observed in the presence of the geocell and geogrid. Based on the laboratory test results, a hypothetical case of a prototype foundation subjected to cyclic load was analyzed. The results revealed that the natural frequency of the foundation-soil system increases by 4 times and the amplitude of the vibration reduces by 92% in the presence of the geocells and the geogrids.

In case of developing new motor, many examinations was tested to decide a motor efficiency and reliability. To give reliability judgment, traction motor winding insulation was tested by electrical method after appling electrical, heat, mechanical, environmental stress. In this study, stator form-wound winding of traction motor in urban transit E.M.U was tested by accelerative thermal degradation test. Stator form-wound winding was tested on the accelerative degradation composed of heat, vibration, moisture, overvoltage and researched insulation resistance, dielectric loss, partial discharge for insulation degradation properties, evaluated withstand voltage. Degradation temperature was $230[^\circ{C}]$, $250[^\circ{C}]$, $270[^\circ{C}]$, for stator form-wound winding respectively. On the test results of accelerative thermal degradation, insulation properties were relied all temperature until 10 times and expected life was evaluated by the rule of reducing $10[^\circ{C}]$ life into halves. Expected life was 31.8 years. It is guaranteed insulation reliability because of exceeding 25 years life times as considering.
