Korean High Speed Train (KHST) has been tested on high speed line in JungBu site since it was developed in 2002. The KHST figured 7 cars was modeled for dynamic simulation with Vampire program. and the data acquisition system was used to test successfully the on-line test for proving the dynamic performance of KHST. The comparison between test and simulation results for dynamic behavior of KHST was tried in this paper and it was very difficult because the environmental conditions and running conditions have an effect on the test results and these conditions are unable to be modeled for dynamic analysis. Also the parameters for data acquisition system for test are usually not same to simulation conditions. Therefor, in this paper the acceleration data after filtering with low pass filter below 1Hz were used to compare between test and simulation results because the low frequency range is useful to evaluate the dynamic performance for railway vehicle system, so as steady state curving acceleration. The results show that both are similar in low frequency range.
Because of the environmental problem during the pile driving, the use of low noise-vibration auger-drilled pilling is increasing to solve noise and vibration problem in pilling. In Korea, SIP (Soil-Cement Injected Precast Pile) method is mainly used as auger-drilled pilling. But, a proper bearing capacity evaluation formula has not been suggested, yet. To improve and supplement this situation, direct shear tests between SIP pile skin interface and soil were executed under various conditions. Through the analysis of test results, skin resistance characteristics of SIP were investigated thoroughly. Also, the maximum unit skin resistance capacity evaluation formulae on SM, SC soil was suggested.

Excessive motions in buildings cause occupants to become uncomfortable and nervous. This is particularly detrimental to the tenants and ultimately the owner of the building, with respect to financial considerations. Serviceability issues, such as excessive accelerations and inter-story drifts, are more prevalent today due to advancements in the structural systems, strength of materials, and design practices. These factors allow buildings to be taller, lighter, and more flexible, thereby exacerbating the impact of dynamic responses. There is a growing need for innovative and effective techniques to reduce the serviceability responses of these tall buildings. The current study considers a case study of a real building to show the effectiveness and robustness of the TLD in reducing the coupled lateral-torsional motion of this high-rise building under wind loading. Three unique multi-modal TLD systems are designed specifically to mitigate the torsional response of the building. A procedure is developed to analyze a structure-TLD system using High Frequency Force Balance (HFFB) test data from the Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory (BLWTL) at the University of Western Ontario. The effectiveness of the unique TLD systems is investigated. In addition, a parametric study is conducted to determine the robustness of the systems in reducing the serviceability responses. Three practical parameters are varied to investigate the robustness of the TLD system: the height of water inside the tanks, the amplitude modification factor, and the structural modal frequencies.

Sealed sources have to conducted the tests be done according to the classification requirements for their typical usages in accordance with the relevant domestic notice standard and ISO 2919. After each test, the source shall be examined visually for loss of integrity and pass an appropriate leakage test. Tests to class a sealed source are temperature, external pressure, impact, vibration and puncture test. The environmental test conditions for tests with class numbers are arranged in increasing order of severity. In this study, the apparatus of tests, except the vibration test, were developed and applied to three kinds of sealed source. The conditions of the tests to class a sealed source were stated and the difference between the domestic notice standard and ISO 2919 were considered. And apparatus of the tests were made. Using developed apparatus we conducted the tests for $^{192}Ir$ brachytherapy sealed source and two kinds of sealed source for industrial radiography. $^{192}Ir$ brachytherapy sealed source is classified by temperature class 5, external pressure class 3, impact class 2 and vibration and puncture class 1. Two kinds of sealed source for industrial radiography are classified by temperature class 4, external pressure class 2, impact and puncture class 5 and vibration class 1. After the tests, Liquid nitrogen bubble test and vacuum bubble test were done to evaluate the safety of the sealed sources.

Structure behaviors resulting from an earthquake are experimentally simulated mainly through a shaking table test. As for large-scale structures, however, size effects over a miniature may make it difficult to assess actual behaviors properly. To address this problem, research on the hybrid simulation is being conducted actively. This method is to implement numerical analysis on framework members that affect the general behavior of the structure dominantly through an actual scale experiment and on the rest parts by applying the substructuring technique. However, existing studies on hybrid simulation focus mainly on Slow experimental methods, which are disadvantageous in that it is unable to assess behaviors close to the actual level if material properties change depending on the speed or the influence of inertial force is significant. The present study aims to establish a Real-time hybrid simulation system capable of excitation based on the actual time history and to verify its performance and applicability. The hybrid simulation system built up in this study utilizes the ATS Compensator system, CR integrator, etc. in order to make the target displacement the same with the measured displacement on the basis of MATLAB/Simulink. The target structure was a 2-span bridge and an RC pier to support it was produced as an experimental model in order for the shaking table test and Slow and Real-time hybrid simulations. Behaviors that result from the earthquake of El Centro were examined, and the results were analyzed comparatively. In comparison with the results of the shaking table test, the Real-time hybrid simulation produced more similar maximum displacement and vibration behaviors than the Slow hybrid simulation. Hence, it is thought that the Real-time hybrid simulation proposed in this study can be utilized usefully in seismic capacity assessment of structural systems such as RC pier that are highly non-linear and time-dependent.
This study examined blast testing measurement data which had been obtained from 97 field sites in Korea to investigate the comprehensive characteristics of rock blasting-induced vibration focusing on the effect of excavation types (tunnel, bench) and rock types. The measurement data was from the testing sites mostly in Kangwon province and Kyungsang province and rock types were granite, gneiss, limestone, sand stone, and shale in the order of number of data. The study indicated that the blasting-induced vibration velocity was affected by the excavation types (tunnel, bench) and bench blasting induced higher velocity than tunnel blasting. In addition, the vibration velocity was also highly affected by the rock types and therefore, it can be concluded that rock types should be considered in the future to estimate a blasting-induced vibration velocity. Furthermore, the pre-existing criteria was compared with the results of this study and the comparison indicated that there was a discernable difference except for tunnel blasting results based on the square root scaling and therefore, further studies and interests, which include the effects of rock strength, joint characteristics, geological formation, excavation type, power type, measurement equipment and method, might be necessarily in relation to the estimation of blasting-induced vibration velocity in rock mass.

In this paper, main effects of bridge vibration were investigated by arranging static and dynamic test data on 30 highway bridges. The test were conducted using displacement transducers and strain gages attached at midspan of each bridges over which a heavy test vehicle was running. Then, vibrational characteristics of the bridges were obtained in the time domain analysis by distinguishing the forced and free vibration state. The results obtained in this paper will be used properly to simulate the vibrational behaviour of the bridges which is in the state of the beginning in the domestic.

Since human listening is very sensitive to sound, for evaluating of a sound quality is required. Therefore, in the analysis for each situation, the sound evaluation is composed with sound quality factor. My researchers spends their effort to make a more reliable and more accurate of sound in term of sound quality index for various system noise. The previous methods to evaluation of the SQ about vehicle interior noise are linear regression analysis of subjective SQ metrics by statistics and the estimation of the subjective SQ values by neural network. But these are highly dependent on jury test and have many difficulties due to various environmental factors. So, to reduce jury test weight. we suggested a new method using Mahalanobis distance for SQ evaluation. Threrefore, in this study Mahalanobis distance for the vehicle interior noise was derived using the objective SQ except jury test. Finnaly, the results of the SQ evaluation was analyzed discrimination between reference and abnormal group.
The objective of this study was to reverse engineer a swash plate type piston pump mounted on a wheeled armored vehicle and to analyze the structure of the pump case. From the analysis, the weak parts were identified and corrected in the final design. Each element corresponding to the piston pump case was analyzed. The analytical method was given static boundary conditions, load conditions and confirmed displacement, strain, stress, and safety factor. Plastic deformation and damage were also confirmed and the component elements redesigned through structural analysis Structural analysis and vibration analysis were carried out for the components of the piston pump case. The piston pump model was finally modified by structural analysis and vibration analysis results for each component assembly, and a prototype was designed. Durability test and environmental test were carried out and the test results satisfied all of the requirements. Therefore, the analytical method presented in this study can be utilized as a methodology for element component design in the development of various piston pumps.
