  • In modern society, UAM (Urban Air Mobility) transportation system is being developed as an alternative to urban traffic congestion and environmental problems, and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) is a combination of vertical take-off and landing function and electric power. It is attracting attention as an innovative next-generation transportation method as an eco-friendly alternative that reduces noise and air pollution by providing efficient mobility within the city. Since eVTOL development requires designing and implementing airframes suitable for various mission purposes, the power system needs to be developed as a platform concept before airframe development. In this study, we empirically proposed a test bench concept equipped with a stable power supply and an efficient control system, essential in developing a power platform with a combined function in the form of a fuselage and module type specialized for various mission purposes. The proposed drivetrain platform test bench consists of a system verifying the stable take-off and landing software and a power platform adjusting the motor's thrust. It will serve as a verification system that can be developed.

  • The Safe Operating Envelope (SOE) combined with Short-Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) performance is an essential consideration of a light aircraft carrier for design of hull shape with excellent seakeeping performance in terms of naval air operations as well as traditional naval ship missions such as Transit and Patrol (TAP), and Replenishment at Sea (RAS) and so on. A variety of procedures are systematically combined to determine SOE considering rather complicated missions associated with operation of aircraft onboard. The evaluation of take-off and landing safety missions onboard should consider wind effect on deck and severer seakeeping indices and standards compared with conventional naval ships. In order to support take-off and landing missions, various support activities of the crews are required. So, additional evaluation is needed for indicators such as MSI(Motion sickness Index) and MII(Motion Induced Interruptions), which are quantitative indicators of work ability that appear as a result of motion response. In this study, a standard procedure is developed including the seaworthiness performance indicators, standards, and evaluation procedures that should be considered during design of STOVL aircraft carrier. Analysis results are discussed in terns of air-wake on deck as well as seakeeping indices associated with design parameter changes in view of conceptual design of a light aircraft carrier.

  • Urban air mobility (UAM) has recently attracted lots of attention as a solution to urban centralization and global warming. Electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) is a concept that emerges as one of the promising and clean technologies for UAM. There are two difficult challenges for eVTOL aircraft to solve. One is how to improve the weight efficiency of aircraft, and the other is how to complete long-range missions for UAM's flight scenarios. To approach these challenges, we propose a consolidated concept design of battery-fuel cell hybrid tiltrotor aircraft with a liquid hydrogen (LH2) fuel tank. The efficiency of a battery-fuel cell hybrid powertrain system on the designed eVTOL aircraft is compared to that of a battery-only powertrain system. This paper shows how much payload can increase and the flight scenario can be improved by hybridizing the battery and fuel cell and presenting a detailed concept of a cryogenic storage tank for LH2.

  • In this study, the status of global advanced air mobility (AAM) was investigated to derive information and communications technologies (ICTs) that should be prepared according to directions of domestic AAM development. AAM is an urban air traffic system for moving from city to city by electric vertical take-off and landing or personal aircraft. It is expected to establish a three-dimensional air traffic system that can solve ground traffic congestion caused by the rapid global urbanization. With the full-scale commercialization of AAM solutions, high-density air traffic is expected, and with the advent of the personal air vehicle (PAV), the flight space usage is expected to expand. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a safe AAM service through early research on core ICTs for autonomous flight.

  • The purpose of this study was to kinematics factors on during round-off at end of beam-salto backward stretched with step-out to cross on balance beam. Four elite female gymnastics players participated as subject of this study. The methods of this study was analyzed using three dimentional analysis. The results and conclusion of this paper is obtained as follows ; 1. The phase of time was the most short time in board touch down phase and board take-off phase. Also, it was shown a more long time in total time compared to previous study. 2. The horizontal displacement of each phase was shown the most high levels in balance beam landing. The vertical displacement was display a non-linearity increase in board take-of phase, and it was shown the most high levels in vertical displacement during landing of balance beam. 3. The horizontal velocity of each phase was shown the most high levels in board touch down, and it was display a gradually decreased levels because flight during board take-of. The resultant velocity of CG on each phase was shown the most high levels in board touch down and board take-off. 4. The angle of hip joint was shown the most high levels as performed a motion in extension state during board take-off, and the angle of knee joint was display a increased levels because of flight cause body extension in board take-off. Also the angle of ankle joint was shown a increasing levels during board take-off. Considering to this results, it is suggest that the change of kinematics factors in board touch down and board take-off is key role on the effective board control.

  • 최근 4차 산업 혁명의 시대가 시작되면서 IT, 사물 인터넷(IOT), 자율 주행 자동차, 드론 등 많은 분야에 있어서 일상생활의 편리함이 증가 하고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 긴박한 상황 시 사고 현장에 대한 빠른 출동 등과 같은 응급 상황에 필요한 분야의 개발은 제한적이다. 본 과제는 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 드론과 구급차를 결합하여 수직이착륙이 가능한 구급차를 제작할 것이다. 수직 이착륙이 가능한 구급차를 도입함으로써 도로 위 교통에 대한 문제점과 차로 이동이 어려운 환경에서 보다 빠르게 사고현장에 투입하여 인명 구조와 사고 현장을 수습하여 피해를 감소시키고자 한다.

A Study on the Certification System for eVTOL Aircraft (전기추진 수직이착륙 항공기 인증제도에 대한 고찰)

  • As the feasibility of urban air mobility (UAM) service using electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft increases due to aircraft electrification, distributed propulsion, and artificial intelligence technologies, the U.S. and European aeronautical societies have been improving their certification system and regulations for the type certification of eVTOL. The improved certification system is expected to be ready in the near future, after the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) proposed the VTOL Special Condition, SC-VTOL in 2019. However, the current domestic certification system is still insufficient to properly respond to eVTOL. This study investigated the development trends of foreign eVTOL and certification systems, identified considerations to improve the domestic certification system, and proposed the measures for type certificates and type certificates validation of eVTOL based on the comparison between SC-VTOL and Korea airworthiness standards (KAS).

  • This paper aims to establish a reconfigurable flight simulation environment to conduct safety evaluation of various electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Since the inceptor, aircraft dynamics model, and controller applied to each eVTOL aircraft are different, it was configured to be variable so that a simulation can be executed for each eVTOL aircraft. Test elements and performance indicators were set to perform safety evaluation of eVTOL aircraft. Ground auxiliary equipments were designed and implemented in a simulation environment according to test procedures for each test element. In addition, to analyze safety performance, a simulation flight data collection environment based on MATLAB/Simulink and a tool for safety performance analysis were implemented. Test flight and analysis were conducted in the implemented simulation environment in this paper. Finally, this study shows the environment was verified by confirming that it was performed normally.

Design Requirement Analysis and Configuration Proposal of a Vertiport for Domestic Applications of the Urban Air Mobility (도심항공 모빌리티(UAM)의 국내 적용을 위한 수직이착륙장 설계 요구조건 분석 및 형상 제안)

  • In this paper, the design requirements was produced by analyzing domestic and foreign regulations of the vertical takeoff and landing site required to operate the urban air mobility (UAM) system in Korea and the size of the take-off and landing pads were defined, and the configuration of vertiport was proposed. First, for the metropolitan area with high population density, pilot locations of the vertical take-off and landing site were selected based on the demonstration routes suggested by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and analyzed the characteristics of each location and determined the number of possible installations of vertiport by measuring each site. After that, variables necessary for the operation of the vertical takeoff and landing area were set, and the hourly, daily, monthly aircraft operating cycle, the number of acceptable people, and efficiency were calculated according to the number of simultaneous operation and the number of stand. Finally, using CATIA, the configurations of the virtual vertiport was created by applying the design requirements.

An Analysis of Kinetic Variables That Affect High Jump Record of Students Who were Majoring in Physical Education (사범계 체육전공 대학생의 높이뛰기 기록에 영향을 미치는 운동역학적 변인 분석)

  • This study aims to comparatively analyze kinetic variables that affect high jump records and thus to provide the basic data for enhancement of physical education teachers' teaching skills and expertise. 10 students who were majoring in physical education in a college of education - five males and five females - were chosen for the experiment in which the 3D image analyzer and ground reaction force measuring unit were adopted. The kinetic variables of the groups, the characteristics and differences were analyzed, and the correlation between each variable and record in each group was examined. The results are as follows: As to the height of center of gravity from one step before stamping to landing, the vertical velocity of the center of gravity at take off, the vertical velocity of the limbs at take off, the angles of the hip joint and ankle joint of the jumping leg, it turned out that male were better than female. As to the angles of the hip joint and ankle joint of the lead leg, female recorded higher values than male. As to the maximum vertical ground reaction force, the maximum horizontal ground reaction force, the vertical impulse, it turned out that male were better than female.
