  • Various dynamic models of seated posture human body have been developed because the importance about the ride comfort assessment of vehicles is highly emphasized from day to day. The dynamic models of human body make possible the simulation of ride comfort assessment by applied to the vehicle dynamic model. Recently, the importance of ride comfort is also regarded to working vehicles such as excavators and the research of the ride comfort assessment for working vehicle is required. Only vertical vibration dominantly occurs on the seat of the private car driving with constant velocity. In contrast, vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch vibration seriously occurs on the seat of the working excavator. So, the dynamic models of seated human body applied to working vehicles should describe the dynamic characteristics for vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch direction. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of seated human body are represented as apparent inertia matrix. The apparent inertia matrix is obtained by the vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch excitation of seated human body. 6 resonance frequencies are observed in apparent inertia matrix. This result can be applied to develop the dynamic model for seated posture human body.

  • The Primary object of this study is to predict rigid carbody's vertical and pitch acceleration and/or displacement frequency response to vertical sinusoidal rail surface irregularities for any specified point of the carbody, and to verify the predictions by means of experiments. The developed computer program also calculates vertical and pith transmissibilities and acceleration spectra. This model can be used for first order analysis of ride behabior. it's main advantage is its simplicity and ease of use. This model can be used for first order analysis of ride quality behabior. It's main advantage is its simplicity and ease of use. The model was designed with 6 degreed of freedom. Equations of motion were derived by Lagrangian method. This calculation was applied to the vertical dynamic analysis in order to pursue a possible improvement of the dynamic performance of co-co locomotive, and results were very useful.

  • A dynamic model which simulates the coupled heat and mass transfer within a vertical tube absorber was developed. The liquid film is a binary mixture of two components, and both of these components are present in the vapor phase. The pressure, concentration, temperature and mass flow rate of the vapor are obtained by assuming that the pressure is uniform within an absorber. The model was applied to an absorber for an ammonia/water absorption refrigerator. The transient behaviors of the pressure, the outlet temperature and the concentration of the solution and the cooling water outlet temperature on a step change at the absorber inlet of the cooling water temperature, the vapor mass flow rate and the concentration of the solution were shown.

  • In this study, and analytical method for ride sensitivity analysis of a train with non-linear suspension elements are proposed. Non-linear characteristics of springs and dampers for primary and secondary suspensions of a train are parameterized using polynomial interpolation. Vertical dynamic model of a three-body train running on straight rail with the predetermined roughness expressed in terms of spectral density function is set up and its equations of motion for ride analysis are derived. Using the direct differentiation method, sensitivity equations of the vertical dynamic model with respect to design parameters associated with non-linearity of suspensions are obtained. Based on the sensitivity analysis, improvement of ride is achieved by varying appropriate suspension parameters.

  • Generally, the problem of vertical vibration of structure is generated slab. Analysis of space framed structures with slab for vertical vibration requires more efficient modeling and analysis technique, because number of elements lead to more complicated model with many degree of freedom which requires large amount of computing resources for dynamic analysis. This paper propose an efficient analysis method for vertical vibration of space framed structure with slab. At first, proposed model is selected minimum joints and degree of freedom which are acquired sufficient dynamic response to the vertical vibration. Secondly, super-elements that are made a number of element are used for simple input data and fast analysis.

  • Rectangular barrettes have been increasingly used as foundations for many infrastructure projects, but the vertical vibration of a barrette has been rarely addressed theoretically. This paper presents an analysis method of dynamic response for a rectangular barrette subjected to a time-harmonic vertical force with the aid of a modified Vlasov foundation model in multilayered viscoelastic soil. The barrette-soil system is modeled as a continuum, the vertical continuous displacement model for the barrette and soil is proposed. The governing equations of the barrette-soil system and the boundary conditions are obtained and the vertical shaft resistance of barrette is established by employing Hamilton's principle for the system and thin layer element, respectively. The physical meaning of the governing equations and shaft resistance is interpreted. The iterative solution algorithm flow is proposed to obtain the dynamic response of barrette. Good agreement of the analysis and comparison confirms the correctness of the present solution. A parametric study is further used to demonstrate the effects of cross section aspect ratio of barrettes, depth of soil column, and module ratio of substratum to the upper soil layers on the complex barrette-head stiffness and the resistance stiffness.

  • The effect of vertical vibration of a beam is significantly influenced by higher modes of vibration. Therefore, a beam can be modeled using several elements must De used to represent a vibrating beam. As a result, analysis of a space framed structure for vertical vibration requires increase number of elements leading to more complicated model with many degree of freedom which requires large amount of computing resources for dynamic analysis. An efficient analysis method for vertical vibration of space framed structures are proposed in this paper which is presented in three method. The first method is to determine minimum nodes that shall be used to obtain dynamic response with the vertical vibration. Secondly, matrix condensation methods are introduced to reduce the computation efforts used to perform dynamic analysis and the selection of primary degree-of-freedom is proposed. The third method is of using the mass participation factor for the selection of primary degree-of-freedom.

  • In this paper, a dynamic response mapping model of the wheel-rail system is established by using the support vector regression (SVR) method, and the hierarchical safety thresholds of the subgrade void are proposed based on the reliability theory. Firstly, the vehicle-track coupling dynamic model considering the subgrade void is constructed. Secondly, the subgrade void area, the subgrade compaction index K30 and the fastener stiffness are selected as random variables, and the mapping model between these three random parameters and the dynamic response of the wheel-rail system is built by using the orthogonal test and the SVR. The sensitivity analysis is carried out by the range analysis method. Finally, the hierarchical safety thresholds for the subgrade void are proposed. The results show that the subgrade void has the most significant influence on the carbody vertical acceleration, the rail vertical displacement, the vertical displacement and the slab tensile stress. From the range analysis, the subgrade void area has the largest effect on the dynamic response of the wheel-rail system, followed by the fastener stiffness and the subgrade compaction index K30. The recommended safety thresholds for the subgrade void of level I, II and III are 4.01㎡, 6.81㎡ and 9.79㎡, respectively.

  • This paper presents the numerical simulation results for the dynamic responses of two types of submerged floating tunnels (SFT) under wave and/or seismic excitations. Time domain simulations are conducted by the commercial program OrcaFlex (OF) and in-house CHARM3D program (CP). The dynamic performances of a short/rigid/free-end SFT section with vertical and inclined mooring lines are evaluated. The SFT numerical models were validated against Oh et al.'s (2013) model test results under regular wave conditions. Then the numerical models were further applied to the cases of irregular waves or seismic motions. The main results presented are SFT surge/heave motions and mooring tensions. The general trends and magnitudes obtained by the two different software packages reasonably agree to each other along with experimental results. When seabed seismic motions are applied to the SFT system, the dynamic responses of SFTs are small but dynamic mooring tension can significantly be amplified. In particular, horizontal earthquakes greatly increase the dynamic tension of the inclined mooring system, while vertical earthquakes cause similar effect on vertical mooring system.

  • It is important in design of vertical pumps to consider external excitation in addition to rotor vibration due to unbalance. In this study, a model of a vertical pump was developed for the analysis of its dynamic response. The vertical pump was modeled with lumped masses and springs which represent multi-cylindrical and rotor structure. A dynamic simulation program was developed and numerical calculation on the above mentioned problems were carried out.
