복수개의 동영상 시퀜스를 이용한 차량추적 (A Rule-Based Vehicle Tracking with Multiple Video Sequences)

  • 비디오를 이용한 차량 추적 자동화 기술은 차량속도 등의 정확한 교통량 측정을 위해 중요하다. 그러나 단일 카메라로 취득된 비디오를 이용한 차량추적의 경우 카메라의 유한한 시계(field of view)때문에 추적범위가 제약된다. 차량추적 범위를 넓히고 차량행태에 대한 보다 많은 정보를 얻기 위해서는 복수개의 카메라로 연속된 추적영역을 촬영하여 분석하는 방식을 이용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 규칙기반 차량추적 알고리즘을 적용한 두 대의 동기된 비디오 시??스에서 연속적으로 추적하는 방식을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 영상분석을 통해 나타날 수 있는 거의 모든 경우를 규칙을 만들기 위해 고려되었으며, 칼만 필터를 이용하여 예측성능을 향상시켰다. 제안된 연속된 비디오에서의 차량추적 방법은 확장된 추적범위에서 차량의 순간속도, 차량의 개별행태 등에 보다 많은 정보를 취득하는데 성공적으로 활용될 수 있다.

Simultaneous identification of damage in bridge under moving mass by Adjoint variable method

  • In this paper, a theoretical and numerical study on bridge simultaneous damage detection procedure for identifying both the system parameters and input excitation mass, are presented. This method is called 'Adjoint Variable Method' which is an iterative gradient-based model updating method based on the dynamic response sensitivity. The main advantage of proposed method is inclusion of an analytical method to augment the accuracy and speed of the solution. Moving mass is a model which takes into account the inertia effects of the vehicle. This interaction model is a time varying system and proposed method is capable of detecting damage in this variable system. Robustness of proposed method is illustrated by correctly detection of the location and extension of predetermined single, multiple and random damages in all ranges of speed and mass ratio of moving vehicle. A comparison study of common sensitivity and proposed method confirms its efficiency and performance improvement in sensitivity-based damage detection methods. Various sources of errors including the effects of measurement noise and initial assumption error in stability of method are also discussed.

고속도로 영업소 광장의 횡방향 럼블스트립으로 발생되는 소음 조사 (A Noise Investigation of Transverse Rumble Strip at Toll Plaza of Highway)

  • PURPOSES: This study is to investigate a generated traffic noise when vehicle pass over a transverse rumble strip at toll plaza of highway. METHODS: To investigate traffic noise at toll plaza of highway, Pass-by method which is the most common used for measuring traffic noise was adopted and the traffic noise at toll plaza was measured for 10 min per hour for 11hours(13:00~24:00). RESULTS: The measured traffic noise by pass-by method was changed as function of the transverse rumble strip configuration. Generally, the maximum difference among three noise measurement sections was 7 dB(A). It might be related with traffic speed. Also, the measured traffic noise was strongly generated from a passenger car which was 2 axle. It means that the most of traffic noise on the road is generated at tire/pavement interface of the passenger car. CONCLUSIONS: The traffic noise was strongly related with vehicle speed and transverse rumble strip configuration on the road. For driver safety, the transverse rumble strip is definitely necessary. However, the complaints from residents near highway was increased by traffic noise from transverse rumble strip. Therefore, To satisfy both safety and reduction of traffic noise, the development of configuration of transverse rumble strip is necessary in the further study.

Characteristics of Nano-Particles Exhausted from Diesel Passenger Vehicle with DPF

  • The nano-particles are known to influence the environmental protection and human health. The relationships between transient vehicle operation and nano-particle emissions are not well-known, especially for diesel passenger vehicles with DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter). In this study, two diesel passenger vehicles were measured on a chassis dynamometer test bench. The particulate matter (PM) emission of these vehicles was investigated by number and mass measurement. The mass of the total PM was evaluated using the standard gravimetric measurement method, and the total number concentrations were measured on a ECE15+EUDC driving cycle using Condensation Particle Counter (CPC). According to the investigation results, total number concentration was $1.14{\times}10^{11}$M and mass concentration was 0.71mg/km. About 99% of total number concentration was emitted during the $0{\sim}400s$ because of engine cold condition. In high temperature and high speed duration, the particulate matter was increased but particle concentration was emitted not yet except initial engine cold condition According to DPF performance deterioration, the particulate matter was emitted 2 times and particle concentration was emitted 32 times. Thus DPF performance deterioration affects particle concentration more than PM.

고속 자율 무인잠수정 적용을 위한 MEMS 기술기반 자세 측정 장치 개발 (Development of Attitude Heading Reference System based on MEMS for High Speed Autonomous Underwater Vehicle)

  • 본 연구는 빠른 운항 속도와 짧은 운용 시간을 요구하는 임무에 활용될 저가 소형 자율 무인잠수정에 고가 대형 관성 측정 장치를 대신하여 사용할 수 있는 저가 소형 자세 측정 장치 개발 및 성능 검증을 수행하였다. 저가 소형 자세 측정 장치 개발을 위해서 MEMS 기술을 적용한 gyro, accelerometer 및 magnetometer 채택하여 MEMS 기반 하드웨어를 제작하였으며, 좌표 변환 공식과 칼만 필터를 적용하여 자세 계산 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 또한 개발된 MEMS 기반 자세 측정 장치에 대한 기본 성능 검증을 위한 지자기센서 검증 시험, 정적 자세 시험, 차량 시험, 운동 모사 장치 시험을 수행하였으며, 각각 시험 결과를 제시하였다. 지자기센서 검증 시험 결과 외부 자기장 보정을 통하면 개발된 MEMS 기반 자세 측정 장치의 측정 결과가 외부 자기장에 강인함을 확인하였으며, 정적 자세 시험 및 차량 시험을 통하여 자세 변화가 크지 않는 환경에서 자세 측정 오차가 $0.5^{\circ}/hr$ 임을 확인하였다. 운동 모사 장치 시험을 통하여 5분 내외 자세 변화가 큰 운동 중에도 자세 측정 오차가 발산하지 않고 $1^{\circ}/hr$ 이내임을 확인하였다. 상기 시험 결과로부터 개발된 MEMS 기반 자세 측정 장치가 목표 성능인 $1^{\circ}/hr$이내 roll, pitch, yaw 오차를 보여주고 있음 확인하였으며, 이로부터 20분 내외 운용 시간 동안 정확한 자세 정보 제공 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

공기압에 따른 타이어의 안전성 및 경제성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Tire Safety & Economical Efficiency with Respect to Inflation Pressure)

  • Many vehicles have significantly under-inflated tires, primarily because drivers infrequently check their vehicles' tire pressure. When a tire is used while significantly under-inflated, its sidewalls flex more and the tire temperature increases, increasing stress and the risk of failure. In this study we evaluated tire safety and economical efficiency at various inflation pressure. For tire safety we performed FMVSS indoor durability test, measurement of rolling tire temperature, braking performance at dry/wet road condition, and rolling resistance test for economical efficiency. Results show that low pressure decreases tire durability of both speed-increase condition and load-increase condition. Heat temperature of rolling tire increases as pressure decreases and significantly under-inflated tires cause increase of vehicle's stopping distance at wet road condition. Also Under-inflation increases the rolling resistance of a tire and, correspondingly, decreases vehicle's fuel economy.

INFLUENCE OF OPERATION PATTERNS OF LIGHT-DUTY FREIGHT VEHICLES ON NOx POLLUTION AT LOCAL ROADSIDES

  • Running tests on roads were conducted to clarify the influences of road infrastructure, traffic condition and vehicle's emission level to the amount of emission at local roadsides, and to reveal the operation patterns which can reduce the emission peaks. NOx emission peaks of two light duty freight diesel vehicles which have different emission levels were evaluated by using an on-board measurement system. Tests were carried out with various payload conditions and road conditions. As a result many NOx emission peaks were observed when the vehicles were starting or accelerating at intersections. The test vehicle which has higher emission level caused higher frequency and level of NOx emission peaks. Shifting up at lower engine speed in combination with lower acceleration brought out not only reduction of NOx emission peaks level but also of $CO_2$ mass emission.

  • 본 논문에서는 레이저를 이용한 이동 차량의 속도와 거리 측정 시스템을 설계하고 현장 실험을 통해 시스템을 검증하였다. 구현된 시스템은 크게 레이저모듈과 제어 및 속도 연산 모듈로 구성되어 있으며, 레이저 모듈은 레이저를 발사하고 수신하는 송수신부와 광학계 그리고 LDC(Laser Detection and Counter)로 이루어져 있고, 제어 및 속도 연산 모듈은 마이크로컨트롤러를 이용하여 레이저 모듈을 제어하기 위한 제어부와 레이저 모듈로부터 수집한 데이터를 이용하여 이동차량의 속도와 거리를 계산하는 속도 연산부로 이루어져 있다. 속도 연산을 위한 알고리즘은 레이저의 특성과 환경적인 요인을 고려해 개발하였다. 구현된 시스템은 도로상의 임의의 자동차를 대상으로 실험하였으며, 이를 통해 시스템의 안정성과 속도 알고리즘의 정확성을 검증하였다.

Study on Extension of the 6-DOF Measurement Area for a Model Ship by Developing Auto-tracking Technology for Towing Carriage in Deep Ocean Engineering Tank

  • The deep ocean engineering basin (DOEB) of the Korea Research Institute of Ship and Ocean Engineering (KRISO) is equipped with an extreme-environment reproduction facility that can analyze the motion characteristics of offshore structures and ships. In recent years, there have been requirements for a wide range of six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion measurements for performing maneuvering tests and free-running tests of target objects (offshore structures or ships). This study introduces the process of developing a wide-area motion measurement technology by incorporating the auto-tracking technology of the towing carriage system to overcome the existing 6-DOF motion measurement limitation. To realize a wide range of motion measurements, the automatic tracking control system of the towing carriage in the DOEB was designed as a speed control method. To verify the control performance, the characteristics of the towing carriage according to the variation in control gain were analyzed. Finally, a wide range of motions was tested using a model test object (a remotely operated vehicle (ROV)), and the wide-area motion measurement technology was implemented using an automatic tracking control system for a towing carriage.

서울 도심의 실제 도로 주행 조건에서 소형자동차의 주행인자와 CO2 배출 특성에 관한 연구 (The Characteristics of Driving Parameters and CO2 Emissions of Light-Duty Vehicles in Real-Driving Conditions at Urban Area in Seoul)

  • 본 논문에서는 소형자동차에 이동식 배출가스 측정장비(PEMS)를 탑재하여 서울 도심의 실제 도로를 주행하고, 주행인자와 $CO_2$ 배출량 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 주요 주행인자로는 평균차속, 상대가속도(RPA-Relative Positive Acceleration), 정지비율을 선정하였고, 도로유형을 단속류와 연속류로 구분하여 분석하였다. 주행거리 기반의 이동평균구간 계산 방법을 적용하여 다양한 주행조건에서의 평균값을 구하고, 다중 선형 회귀분석 방법을 통해 주행인자와 $CO_2$ 배출량 간의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해 자동차의 $CO_2$ 배출량은 평균차속이 증가함에 따라 감소하고, RPA와 정지비율의 증가에 따라 증가하는 경향이 있음을 통계적인 방법으로 확인하였다. 단속류는 연속류와 비교하였을 때 평균차속이 상당히 낮고, RPA와 정지비율은 높게 나타나는데, 이러한 주행인자분포의 차이로 인해 단속류의 단위주행거리 당 $CO_2$ 배출량이 높은 것으로 판단된다.
