바이모달트램용 LPB팩에 적용될 Battery Management System 개발 (Development of BMS applying to LPB Pack in Bimodal Tram)

  • Bimodal Tram developed by KRRI is driven by a series Hybrid propulsion system which has both the CNG engine, generator and LPB(Lithium Polymer Battery) pack. It has three driving modes; Hybrid mode, Engine mode and Battery mode. Even in case of Battery mode, LPB pack to get enough power to drive the vehicle only by itself onsists of 168 LPB cells(80Ah per lcell), 650V. It is important thing to manage LPB pack in a right way, which will extend the lifetime of LPB cells and operate in the hybrid mode effectively. This paper has shown the development of battery management system(12 BMS, 1 BMS per 14cells) to manage LPB pack which is connected with CAN(Controller Area Network) each other and measure the voltage, current, temperature and also control the cooling fan inside of LPB pack. Using the measured data, BMS can show the SOC(State of Charge), SOH(State of Health) and other status of LPB pack including of the cell balancing.

변형된 삼원촉매에 의한 저온시동조건에서의 메탄올엔진 배가스 정화효과에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Emission control of methanol engine exhaust with modified 3-way catalyst at cold start condition)

  • As the major methanol fueled vehicle exhaust components, formaldehyde & methanol conversion over the existing commercial 3-way catalyst was examined in a labolatory tains different Ag loadings on commercial 3-way catalyst, and german commercial catalysts for methanol engine exhaust manufactured by a commercial manufacturer. Silver catalysts were prepared by the wet impregnation of silver nitrate solution on commercial 3-way catalyst. These catalysts were characterized with BET Surface area and pore size distribution. In general, the formaldehyde(HCHO) conversion of the tested catalysts was similar to that of methanol$(CH_3OH)$. At 100$^\circ$C, which is equivalent to the cold start condition, 5wt% Ag cat. showed the most excellent HCHO and $CH_3OH$ conversion. The order of activity for conversion of HCHO & $CH_3OH$ to carbon dioxide and water vapor was as follows ; 5wt% Ag/3-way cat.>2wt% Ag/3-way cat.>german cat. front(1) > german cat. rear(2) > 10wt% Ag/3-way cat.> commercial 3-wat catalyst. However there was no significant activity difference between those tested catalysts in the hot run condition of 400$^\circ$C. Therefore, it could be concluded that the Ag-modified 3-way catalyst was the most effective and practical catalyst system which could be capable of removal the HCHO and methanol at the special condition of low temperature such as cold start condition.

  • Aero-pulsation noise, generally caused by geometric asymmetry of a rotating device, is considerable source of annoyance in passenger cars using the turbocharged diesel engine. Main source of this noise is the compressor wheel in the turbocharger system, and can be reduced by after-treatment such as silencers, but which may increase the manufacturing cost. More effective solution is to improve the geometric symmetry over all, or to control the quality of components by sorting out inferior ones. The latter is more effective and reasonable than the former in view of manufacturing. So, an appropriate discrimination method should be needed to evaluate aero-pulsation noise level at the production line. In this paper, we introduce the accurate method which can measure the noise level of aeropulsation and also present its evaluation criteria. Besides verifying the reliability of a measurement system - a rig test system -, we analyze the correlation between the results from rig tests and those from vehicle tests. The gage R&R method is carried out to check the repeatability of measurements over 25 samples. From the result, we propose the standard specification which can discriminate inferior products from superior ones on the basis of aero-pulsation noise level.

  • 단일액체추진제 하이드라진 소형로켓엔진의 이론성능해석을 위한 추진제 연소화합물의 화학평형조성 계산모델이 간략히 제시된다. 성능해석결과는 1 lbf급 추력기의 성능평가 시험결과와 암모니아 몰분율의 관점에서 비교, 분석되고, 노즐팽창비와 추진제 주입압력에 따른 화학평형 조성 및 평균분자량 등이 추가로 제시된다. 이론해석은 단일액체추진제 중 대형급 로켓엔진의 설계변수 도출의 일환으로 시도된다.

DPF 클리닝 직후에 주행 중 발생한 승용차화재 사례의 분석 (Analysis of an Automotive Fire Case that a Fire Broke out during Driving Immediately after DPF Cleaning)

  • As a result of the enforced control of emission, many devices, including the diesel particulate filter, have been installed in diesel cars to reduce the emission of particulate matters. In this study, a car fire case has been investigated and analyzed. A car fire broke out after the vehicle traveled a distance of 1.4 km from a car service center. The car was provided with DPF cleaning when the DPF warning light came on. After being dismantled in the engine room, the car's engine and gearbox were investigated. The findings showed that the rear part of the DPF metal case was melted and punctured, while the honeycomb filter of the DPF was damaged. The car fire was caused by an overheated DPF associated with inaccurate maintenance practice. Therefore, the responsibility of the fire rested on the car service center that performed the DPF cleaning.

자동 운전 PRT 차량의 무선 관제 기술 개발을 위한 가상 환경 기반 통합 시뮬레이터 개발 (A VR-Based Integrated Simulation for the Remote Operation Technology Development of Unmanned-Vehicles in PRT System)

  • 차세대 융합 교통 기술 분야중 하나인 Personal Rapid Transit 시스템 기술은 새로운 도심형 대중교통 기술로서 주목받고 있다. PRT 시스템은 센서 및 자율 주행 기술을 융합한 무인 운행 차량과 통신설비, 구간 검지 등 인프라 및 관련 요소 기술이 개발되어도 운행 예상 지역의 대규모 주행 트랙 구조에서 다수의 차량들의 다양한 주행 및 이상 패턴들에 대한 효율적이고 신뢰할 만한 관제 기술 개발이 요구된다. 또한 이러한 관제 기술 개발에 앞서 실제 PRT 차량 개발 및 소규모 테스트 트랙 구축을 통한 수많은 실차 주행과 같은 단계적 실험에 따른 막대한 시간 및 물리적 비용이 소요가 예상된다. 따라서 실제 구축 전 단계에서 다수의 PRT 차량에 대한 무선 기반 운행 관제 기술 개발을 위해서는 가상 환경에서의 시뮬레이션이 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 물리엔진을 적용하여 단순 궤도 차량이 아닌 전륜 조향 시스템을 탑재한 PRT 차량 모델을 대상으로 대규모의 운행 예상 지역의 지형, 궤도, 인프라 및 네트워크 특성과 구조를 반영한 시뮬레이션이 가능하도록 설계한 통합 시뮬레이터 기술을 제시한다.

  • Domestic Foreign automaker's are focused on the high-efficiency, low emission cars development. On the way, the hybrid car is the first priority. Hybrid electric vehicle battery pack configurations, EV Relay one of the key components of the engine driving, to assist in the drive motor to supply electrical energy to the battery is a device for opening and closing of the output device. EV Relay determine the longevity and the replacement cycle, The EV Relay environmental conditions and duty cycle considering the reliability tests are essential requirements of many automotive companies to respond to RFQ, this test is essential. This paper using Maxwell Software for Prediction of the Ev Relay impulse, the theoretical data to obtain the impulse to develop methods for mechanical testing after to take advantage of it.

Trajectory Guidance and Control for a Small UAV

  • The objective of this paper is to present trajectory guidance and control system with a dynamic inversion for a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The UAV model is expressed by fixed-mass rigid-body six-degree-of-freedom equations of motion, which include the detailed aerodynamic coefficients, the engine model and the actuator models that have lags and limits. A trajectory is generated from the given waypoints using cubic spline functions of a flight distance. The commanded values of an angle of attack, a sideslip angle, a bank angle and a thrust, are calculated from guidance forces to trace the flight trajectory. To adapt various waypoint locations, a proportional navigation is combined with the guidance system. By the decision logic, appropriate guidance law is selected. The flight control system to achieve the commands is designed using a dynamic inversion approach. For a dynamic inversion controller we use the two-timescale assumption that separates the fast dynamics, involving the angular rates of the aircraft, from the slow dynamics, which include angle of attack, sideslip angle, and bank angle. Some numerical simulations are conducted to see the performance of the proposed guidance and control system.

Three-dimensional Guidance Law for Formation Flight of UAV

  • In this paper, the guidance law applicable to formation flight of UAV in three-dimensional space is proposed. The concept of miss distance, which is commonly used in the missile guidance laws, and Lyapunov stability theorem are effectively combined to obtain the guidance commands of the wingmen. The propose guidance law is easily integrated into the existing flight control system because the guidance commands are given in terms of velocity, flight path angle and heading angle to form the prescribed formation. In this guidance law, communication is required between the leader and the wingmen to achieve autonomous formation. The wingmen are only required the current position and velocity information of the leader vehicle. The performance of the proposed guidance law is evaluated using the complete nonlinear 6-DOF aircraft system. This system is integrated with nonlinear aerodynamic and engine characteristics, actuator servo limitations for control surfaces, various stability and control augmentation system, and autopilots. From the nonlinear simulation results, the new guidance law for formation flight shows that the vehicles involved in formation flight are perfectly formed the prescribed formation satisfying the several constraints such as final velocity, flight path angle, and heading angle.
