  • Slipping during various kinds of movement often leads to potentially dangerous incidents of falling. The purpose of this paper was to review some of the research performed in the field including such topics as rating scales for balance, kinematics and kinetics of slipping, adaptation to slippery conditions, postural and balance control, and protective movement during falling. Controlling slipping and fall injuries requires a multifaceted approach. Environmental conditions (state of floor surface, tidiness, lighting, etc), work task (walking, carrying, pushing, lifting, etc), and human behavior (anticipation of hazards, adaptation to risks, risk taking, etc) must be accounted for in the assessment of slip and fall-related risks. Future directions of research must deal with modeling of basic tribophysical, biomechanical, and postural control process involved in slipping and falling.

동적인 색변화를 이용한 감성 조명에 관한 연구 (A Study on Emotional Lighting using Fluid Coloring)

  • 본 논문에서는 LED 광색의 삼속성을 이용하여 상황에 따라 변하는 인간의 심장 박동수를 안정시키는 감성조명을 제작하였다. 특정 기타 악보내의 기타코드와 박자로 제어한 동적 LED와 정적 LED, 무조명시 심장박동수의 변화를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 피실험자의 특정 시간동안의 bpm 기울기가 동적 LED 상태에서 -12.85이며 정적인 LED의 -12.05, 무조명상태의 -11.05보다 가파른 것을 확인하였으며 이는 동적 LED가 다른 상태에서보다 심장 박동수의 안정화에 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

  • 주광은 인공광원보다 심리적 안정과 심리적 신체적 건강 측면 등에서 질적으로 우세하며, 작업능률의 향상에 도움을 주는 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 쾌적한 빛 환경에 대한 재실자들의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 주광의 양과 질이 항상 일정하지 않아 예측하기가 어렵기 때문에 이러한 주광의 유용성에도 불구하고 건축설계에 주광을 적극적으로 반영하는 경우가 드물다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 주광의 성능을 계량화하고 가시화 할 수 있는 다양한 조명시뮬레이션 소프트웨어(Lightscape 3.2, Relux 2007, Radiance 3.9)를 사용함으로 주광을 예측하고, 도출된 결과 값과 Mock-up 실험의 실측값을 비교 분석을 통하여 조명 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 활용성을 극대화하는 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 컬러 영상 데이터베이스에서의 효과적인 영상검색 및 비교를 위한 새로운 알고리듬을 제시한다. 이를 위하여 전처리 과정에서 조명의 영향을 배제하기 위한 새로운 컬러 균일성 보정 알고리듬을 제안하여 조명의 변화에 민감한 기존의 방법과는 달리 기준 영상의 조명조건을 입력 영상의 조명조건을 변화시킴으로써 히스토그램을 이용한 컬러 영상 검색에 있어서 적절하게 이용된다. 또한 제안하는 영상 정합 기법은 컬러 영상을 노드와 에지로 표현되는 그래프 형식으로 표현하여 그래프 정합방법을 통해 두 영상의 유사도를 측정한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 기존의 방법에 의해 영역화 고정이 없고 기하하적 정보추출을 위한 시간이 필요하지 않으므로 빠르면서도 우수한 검색 성능을 나타낸다.

Number Plate Detection System by Using the Night Images

  • License plate recognition is very important in an automobile society. This is because, since plate detection accuracy has large influence on subsequent number recognition, it is very important. However, it is very difficult to do it, because a background and a body color of cars are similar to that of the license plate. In this paper, we propose a new thresholds determination method in the various background by using the real-coded genetic algorithm (RGA). By using RGA, the most likely plate colors are decided under various lighting conditions. First, the average brightness Y values of images are calculated. Next, relationship between the Y value and the most likely plate color thresholds (upper and lower bounds)are obtained by RGA. The relationship between thresholds decided from RGA and brightness average is aproximate by using the recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm. In the case of plate detection, thresholds are decided from these functions.

유치원 보육실 실내환경계획 방향에 관한연구 (Interior Planning for Classrooms in Kindergarten)

  • Children develop in direct relation and response to their physical environment, The purposes of this study were to investigate the current interior design conditions of classrooms in kindergarten and to provide interior planning guidelines for children's behavioral and developmental improvement and better educational environment. Data were collected through interview and questionnaire survey. The sample included 239 teachers who were employed in 23 kindergartens located in Pusan. The data were analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The major findings were as follows; (1) Wood and wallpapers which provide various colors and patterns are recommendable as a classroom finish rather than paint which looks monotonous. (2) Teachers preferred 7 or 8 activity centers in classroom and furniture or partition is the best when dividing space. (3) Classroom should be large enough to locate various types of furniture that designed based on child-size and objects to store. (4) Activity centers should be lit by different types of task lighting such as floor lamp and backer to provide sufficient level of light.

지역적 이진패턴을 이용한 2차원 바코드 검출 알고리즘 (A 2-D Barcode Detection Algorithm based on Local Binary Patterns)

  • To increase the data capacity of one-dimensional symbology, 2D barcodes have been proposed a decade ago. In this paper, a new 2D barcode detection algorithm based on Local Binary Pattern is presented. To locate 2D barcode symbols, a texture analysis scheme based on the Local Binary Pattern is adopted, and a gray-scale projection with sub-pixel operation is utilized to separate the symbol precisely from the input image. Finally, the segmented symbol is normalized using the inverse perspective transformation for the decoding process. The proposed method ensures high performances under various lighting/printing conditions and strong perspective deformations. Experiments show that our method is very robust and efficient in detecting the symbol area for the various types of 2D barcodes.

조광제어 시스템 적용시 실내조도의 변동예측을 위한 포토센서의 주광조도 분석 (Analyses on Photosensor Illuminance for Prediction of Fluctuating Illuminance by Daylight Dimming Control Systems)

  • This study examines the influence of fluctuating daylight illuminance on daylight dimming control systems. Field measurements were performed for a full-scale mocked-up model under various daylight conditions in winter. Fluctuating ranges for a partially-shielded photosensor were great when the variation of sky ratio was great. When solar altitude was lower the illuminance and fluctuating range of illuminance were great due to the influence of direct components of daylight and the interrefelction between surfaces in rear area of space. It implies that daylight dimming system would not function effectively, unless the desktop illuminance by daylight is enough. Fluctuation ranges of photosensor illuminance were lower than 50 lx under clear sky conditions, but they were greater than 100 lx under partly-cloudy sky conditions. It means that the fluctuation range of electric light output of lighting fixture would greater under the partly-cloudy conditions and cause potential visual annoyance to occupants. Outdoor vertical illuminance reaching the windows would be an effective factor that can be used to predict the fluctuation of photosensor signals for effective controls of daylight dimming system.

The Effects of Illuminance and Correlated Color Temperature on Visual Comfort of Occupants' Behavior

  • The preferred illumination environment in accordance with the actions taken by the occupants of the rooms in residences differs significantly between different cultures and circumstances in and out of the country. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the visual performance of various illumination environments in residential spaces by allowing the participants of the experiments to select the kind of illumination environment they prefer as the occupants of the room. For this purpose, we prepared a mock-up residential space of $6.2m{\times}4.5m{\times}2.5m$, where the experiments for this study were conducted. Then, three illuminance settings (30lx, 100lx, and 150lx) and three color temperature settings (2700k, 4000k, and 6500k) were selected as the properties of the physical environment where the tests were to be conducted. The survey was conducted with 30 study subjects, with whom the level of visual comfort and the lighting adjustment evaluation by different activities were carried out. The level of visual comfort in lighting in a residential context turned to be more influenced by the color temperature and illuminance compared to other factors. Except for the test item, 'comfort,' all test items showed positive reactions when the illuminance was 150lx, which was rather light. In 'comfort,' the test subjects appeared to prefer warm color temperature of 2700k. As we allowed the occupants to adjust the lighting environment in accordance with the conditions of the subjects and the activities they performed, the subjects regarded 150lx - 4000k setting as comfortable, while they preferred 150lx-5400k configuration for working. In case of resting, the subject answered that the configuration of 30lx -2700k setting to be visually comfortable.

  • 현재 교통사고의 통계를 보면 야간에 발생하는 교통사고는 주간과 비슷하게 일어나지만, 치사율은 주간에 비해 1.5배 높은 실정이다. 이러한 문제점은 야간에 운전자의 시야확보가 불리하여 적절한 사고 대응을 하지 못하는데 기인한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 밝기, 연색성, 광효율이 우수한 자동차 전조등을 마이크로컨트롤러에 의한 디지털 제어방식을 적용하여 주어진 요구조건 및 주변 환경에 최적으로 적용할 수 있도록 전자식 지능형 적응제어시스템을 설계하였다. 특히, 자동차용 조명장치의 경우 기본적인 역할은 물론 주행조건, 도로조건 및 기후조건에 가장 적합한 조명 패턴으로 자동적으로 전환 및 이동시켜 줄 수 있는 지능적인 조명장치를 구현하여야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 지능형 자동차의 구현에 초점을 맞추어 운전자의 편의성과 안전성을 더욱 향상시킨 조명장치 시스템의 개발에 목표를 두었다.
