Strategy for Various CM Applications based on Comparative Case Analysis (사례 비교분석을 통한 CM 적용 다양화 방안 - 발주자 특성 및 사업특성을 중심으로 -)

  • Domestic CM market has continued to grow since the enactment of CM policies in 1996. In addition, future CM market is forecasted to have potential high growth. Therefore, it is necessary to apply various CM business models reflecting the owner's requirements and characteristics in order to improve in the CM industry and to strengthen the competitiveness in the overseas construction market. In this context, the purpose of this study is to suggest strategies of various CM applications based on comparison of 4 cases analyzed by 'business weight' and 'business depth' in terms of business function as well as by the types of 'CM market' and 'CM practice'. Result of this comparative analysis shows that each case presents differences in terms of type, business weight, and business depth of CM practice. However, domestic public CM services are currently being challenged to strengthen capability throughout the project life-cycle against the limitation of government's CM policies focused on the construction supervision. In order to address this problem, this study proposes the strategies of various CM applciations from several different perspectives

Characteristics of BMN Thin Films Deposited on Various Substrates for Embedded Capacitor Applications (임베디드 커패시터의 응용을 위해 다양한 기판 위에 평가된 BMN 박막의 특성)

  • $Bi_6Mg_2Nb_4O_{21}(BMN)$ thin films were deposited at various substrates by sputtering system for embedded capacitor applications. BMN thin films deposited at room temperature are manufactured as MIM(Metal/Insulator/Metal) structures. Dielectric properties and leakage current density were investigated as a function of various substrates and thickness of BMN thin films. Leakage current density of BMN thin films deposited on CCL(Copper Clad Laminates) showed relatively high value ($1{\times}10^{-3}A/cm^2$) at an applied field of 300 kV/cm on substrates, possibly due to relatively high value of roughness(rms $50{\AA}$) of CCL substrates. 100 nm-thick BMN thin films deposited on Cu/Ti/Si substrates showed the capacitance density of $300 nF/cm^2$, a dielectric constant of 32, a dielectric loss of 2 % at 100 kHz and the leakage current density of $1{\times}10^{-6}A/cm^2$ at an applied field of 300 kV/cm. BMN capacitors are expected to be promising candidates as embedded capacitors for printed circuit board(PCB).

  • We automated high-accuracy data processing routines for various near-real-time GPS applications. The automated system was based on UNIX, and it uses GIPSY-OASIS II and ultra-rapid orbits which is updated twice a day and provided online. The highest error in the estimated site position was 2 cm and 5 cm in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. The mean 3-D position error about 2 cm.

Development of bio-inspired hierarchically-structured skin-adhesive electronic patch for bio-signal monitoring (생체정보 진단을 위한 생체모사 계층구조 기반 피부 고점착 전자 패치 개발)

  • High adhesion and water resistance of the skin surface are required for wearable and skin-attachable electronic patches in various medical applications. In this study, we report a stretchable electronic patch that mimics the drainable structure pattern of the hexagonal channels of frog's pads and the sucker of an octopus based on carbon-based conductive polymer composite materials. The hexagonal channel structure that mimics the pads of frogs drains water and improves adhesion through crack arresting effect, and the suction structure that mimics an octopus sucker shows high adhesion on wet surfaces. In addition, the high-adhesive electronic patch has excellent adhesion to various surfaces such as silicone wafer (max. 4.06 N/cm2) and skin replica surface (max. 1.84 N/cm2) in dry and wet conditions. The high skin-adhesive electronic patch made of a polymer composite material based on a polymer matrix and carbon particles can reliably detect electrocardiogram (ECG) in dry and humid environments. The proposed electronic patch presents potential applications for wearable and skin-attachable electronic devices for detecting various biosignals.

  • Electrically conducting polymers such as polypyrrole(PPy) or poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)(PEDOT) were sequentially polymerized chemically and electrochemically on various kinds of woven fabrics, giving rise to the fabrics with high electrical conductivity. The specific volume resistivity of the fabric prepared in this study was extremely low as 0.2 $\Omega$-cm. We figured out the electrically conducting fabrics were practically useful for many applications such as an EMI shielding material, a flexible surface heating element or a strain sensor for large deformation.

The Study on the Corrosion Property of the Zn-Mg Alloy Coatings with Various Mg Contents using EIS Measurement (EIS 분석을 통한 Mg 함량에 따른 Zn-Mg 박막의 부식 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the Zn-Mg alloy coatings with various Mg contents were deposited using an unbalanced magnetron sputtering process. Their surface microstructure, chemical composition, phase, and corrosion property were investigated. The microstructure of the Zn-Mg coatings changed from porous microstructure to dense one with increasing Mg contents in the coatings. As Mg contents in coatings increased, intermetallic phases such as $Mg_2Zn_{11}$ and $MgZn_2$ were detected from X-ray diffraction (XRD) results. The corrosion resistance of the Zn-Mg alloy coatings was investigated quantitatively using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement with 3.5% NaCl solution. The results of EIS measurement showed that the charge transfer resistance and the phase angle of the Zn-Mg alloy coatings were increased from $162.1{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ to $558.8{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ and from about $40^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$ with increasing Mg contents from 5.1 wt.% to 15.5 wt.% in the coatings. These results demonstrate that the Zn-Mg coatings with increasing Mg contents showed an enhanced corrosion resistance.

Abnormal Behavior of MOCVD Grown $Al_xIn_{1-x}N$ Observed by Various Material Characterizations

  • AlInN has been studied extensively over the past few years due to its interesting material properties that are not present in other ternary nitrides. However, basic material study of AlInN has not been reported as much compared to device applications due to the difficulty in the growth. We have performed the material studies from various aspects. A secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) has shown high oxygen content above $1{\times}10^{18}\;cm^{-3}$ with its insensitivity to the growth conditions. While the free carrier concentration observed by the capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements was about $3{\times}10^{17}\;cm^{-3}$, the activation energy measured by temperature dependent C-V was only about 4 meV. Si doped AlInN (Si level ${\sim}2{\times}10^{18}\;cm^{-3}$) showed almost no carrier freeze-out at carrier density of $1{\times}10^{18}\;cm^{-3}$. More studies were carried out with a transmission electron microscopy, time-resolved photoluminescence and other analytical techniques to understand the results from SIMS and C-V studies. In this report, we will discuss the possible correlations between the abnormal characteristics in AlInN.

Measurement of Hydroxyl Radical Density at Bio-Solutions Generated from the Atmospheric Pressure Non-Thermal Plasma Jet

  • Atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasma of the needle-typed interaction with aqueous solutions has received increasing attention for their biomedical applications [1]. In this context, surface discharges at bio-solutions were investigated experimentally. We have generated the non-thermal plasma jet bombarding the bio-solution surface by using an Ar gas flow and investigated the emission lines by OES (optical emission spectroscopy) [2]. Moreover, The non-thermal plasma interaction with bio-solutions has received increasing attention for their biomedical applications. So we researched, the OH radical density of various biological solutions in the surface by non-thermal plasma were investigated by Ar gases. The OH radical density of DI water; deionized water, DMEM Dulbecco's modified eagle medium, and PBS; 1x phosphate buffered saline by non-thermal plasma jet. It is noted that the OH radical density of DI water and DMEM are measured to be about $4.33{\times}1016cm-3$ and $2.18{\times}1016cm-3$, respectively, under Ar gas flow 250 sccm (standard cubic centimeter per minute) in this experiment. The OH radical density of buffer solution such as PBS has also been investigated and measured to be value of about $2.18{\times}1016cm-3$ by the ultraviolet optical absorption spectroscopy.

  • Various fluoride films were investigated for a gate insulator of thin film transistor application. Conventional oxide containing materials like $SiO_2\;Ta_2O_5\; and \; Al_2O_3$ exhibited high interface states which lead to an increased threshold voltage and poor stability of TFT. In this paper, we investigated gate insulators using a binary matrix system of fluoride such as $CaF_2,\; SrF_2\; MgF_2,\; and\; BaF_2$. These materials exhibited an improvement in lattice mismatch, interface state and electrical stability. MIM and MIS devices were employed for an electrical characterization and structural property examination. Among the various fluoride materials, $CaF_2$ film showed an excellent lattice mismatch of 5%, breakdown electric field higher than 1.2MV/cm and leakage current density of $10^{-7}A/cm^2$. MIS diode having $Ca_2$ film as an insulation layer exhibited the interface states as low as $1.58\times10^{11}cm^{-2}eV^{-1}$. This paper probes a possibility of new gate insulator materials for TFT applications.

Reconstruction of the Defects of the Hands with Arterialized Venous Free Flap (유리 동맥화 정맥 피판을 이용한 수부 결손의 재건)

  • Since Nakayama's first report about venous flap, many experimental and clinical studies were done about this new type of flap. And due to its various benefits, its applications as arterialized venous free flap type have increased recently. In this study we have attempted to reconstruct composite of defects of the hand with new modification of arterialized venous free flap and simultaneous reconstruction of skin, nerve, tendon were performed successfully. From 1994 to 1999, the defects of the hands in 35 patients were reconstructed with various modifications of arterialized venous free flaps. The range of age was from 19 to 55 years and size of flap ranged from $1{\times}2cm\;to\;14{\times}9cm$. Among them, 12 cases of flap over 20cm in size were included. Indications of flaps were as follows: resurfacing of the defects of the skin (9 cases), simultaneous reconstruction of extensor, skin and digital nerve(2 cases), reconstruction of the skin with extensor(5 cases), as a flap-through type vascular reconstruction(6 cases), for digital nerve reconstruction(2 cases), contracture release(3 cases), and finger tip reconstruction(9 cases). All of the cases except one survived with marginal skin necrosis less than 10%. And relatively large flaps over 20cm in size successfully survived without any delay procedures. Composite reconstructions including tendon and nerve were successful with new modifications of this flap. Arterialized venous free flap is one of the useful procedure in reconstruction of the hand because it has many advantages such as non-bulky and good quality of flap, variable length of pedicle, preservation of major vascular pedicle, less operation time, single operative field and in addition possibility of various modifications.
