In this paper, vibration analysis of functionally graded nanoshell is studied based on the sinusoidal higher-order shear and normal deformation theory to account thickness stretching effect. To account size-dependency, Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory is used. For more accurate modeling the problem and corresponding numerical results, sinusoidal higher-order shear and normal deformation theory including out of plane normal strain is employed in this paper. The radial displacement is decomposed into three terms to show variation along the thickness direction. Governing differential equations of motion are derived using Hamilton's principle. It is assumed that the cylindrical shell is made of an arbitrary composition of metal and ceramic in which the local material properties are measured based on power law distribution. To justify trueness and necessity of this work, a comprehensive comparison with some lower order and lower dimension works and also some 3D works is presented. After presentation of comparative study, full numerical results are presented in terms of significant parameters of the problem such as small scale parameter, length to radius ratio, thickness to radius ratio, and number of modes.
The fractures in coal are the main migration and output channels of coalbed methane, directly influencing the permeability of the coal seams. It is of great significance to study the effect of fracture distribution in coals on the permeability of coal seam. The development rules of endogenetic and exogenetic fractures are different among various coal lithotypes. There is also difference in the fracture density for the same lithotype with different thicknesses. Through the observation and description of the macroscopic fractures in coal and the origin of fractures in coal, the effect of the coal lithotype and its thickness on fracture development in coal was discussed. It was found through the study that the density of fractures in vitrain band was the maximum for the same coal rank and thickness, followed by clarain band. There were few fractures developed in the durain band. However, the changes of fracture density in three types of bands presented different declining trends for low, medium and high coal rank. There were no fractures developed in the fusain. There were three variation patterns for the fracture densities at the same coal rank and coal lithotype: linear decrease, nonlinear decrease, and first decrease then remaining unchanged. However, the overall trend was that the fracture density decreased with the increase of thickness of coal band for the same coal rank and coal lithotype.
This study was carried out on the thermal transmission on account of variation of weaves and researched on the selection of the most suitable weaves for warmth. Also the interrelation among the density, thickness and thermal transmission by different weaves was studied, the author has woven three fundamental weaves, five weaves derived from the fundamental weaves and two special weaves for the purpose of experiment. In weaving of fabrics for experiments the lever type hand loom was used. Testing of texture was carried out according to KS and ASTM. The thermal transmission was also tested by as cooling method which were developed by the author. The conclusions of experiments were as follows. 1. Matt weaves, honey comb weaves and satin weaves having long floating yarns have large cover factor and were thicker. these structures of the weaves were good in warmth. 2. Thermal transmission was reciprocated to the cover factor, thickness and value of cover factor multiplied by thickness : It was found that the weaves of woven fabrics for warmth had better use of satin weaves, Matt weaves, Granite weaves and Honey comb weaves. In the time of warmth is not the first purpose, had better use of Rib weaves. Plain weaves and Twill weaves with thin thickness and high thermal transmission.
In this paper, we studied effects on the efficiency, according to thickness of the electron injection layer(EIL) for improving efficiency of Organic Light Emitting Diodes(OLEDs). For the first time, after confirming the optimum thickness of the EIL material $Cs_2CO_3$, we designed OLED devices having a structure of ITO/TPD/$Alq_3/Cs_2CO_3$/Al. And we manufactured devices applying for the optimum thickness of the material in the simulation with thermal evaporating method. And we investigated how the EIL material $Cs_2CO_3$ effects on efficiency of OLEDs in the EIL. As the result, because the EIL material $Cs_2CO_3$ reduces energy potential barrier of the EIL, it facilitated the electron transfer. And, as blocking the hole transfer contributes to an increased recombination, we confirmed that the efficiency of OLEDs increased. And compared to the device without using the EIL material, the device using thickness 1.0 nm of $Cs_2CO_3$ in the EIL shows the excellent efficiency. Therefore, we confirmed that the luminance and the external quantum efficiency increase about 600% and 500% respectively.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of sample thickness and support structure on the residual stress of Hastelloy X superalloy samples fabricated by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), which is an additive manufacturing process. The residual stresses of LPBF samples with different thicknesses and support structures were measured using X-ray diffraction. The results revealed that as the thickness of sample increased from 2.5 mm to 20 mm, its tensile residual stress gradually decreased from 443.5 MPa to 182.2 MPa. Additionally, the residual stress in the bottom region of sample was higher than that in the top region, and the residual stress difference in the bottom and top regions became more pronounced as the sample thickness decreased. The residual stress of LPBF sample also varied depending on the structure of support. The residual stress of sample decreased with increasing contract area between the sample and the support, because the larger contract area led to smaller temperature gradient throughout the sample.

This paper presents a parametric study on the free vibration analysis of a functionally graded material (FGM) circular plate with non-uniform thickness resting on a variable Pasternak elastic foundation. The mechanical properties of the material vary in the transverse direction through the thickness of the plate according to the power-law distribution to represent the constituent components. The equation of motion of the circular plate has been carried out based on the classical plate theory (CPT), and the differential quadrature method (DQM) is employed to solve the governing equations as a semi-analytical method. The grid points are chosen based on Chebyshev-Gauss-Lobatto distribution to achieve acceptable convergence and better accuracy. The influence of geometric parameters, variable elastic foundation, and functionally graded variation for clamped and simply supported boundary conditions on the first three natural frequencies are investigated. Comparisons of results with similar studies in the literature have been presented and two-dimensional mode shapes for particular plates have been plotted to illustrate the effect of variable thickness profile.

The structure of satellite consists of six parts which are control system, power system, thermal control system, remote measurement command system, propellant system and thrust system. In these parts, propellant system consists of propellant tank and thrust device. What we want to perform is optimum design to minimize the weight of propellant tank. In order to design optimal propellant tank, several parameters should be adopted from the tank geometry like the relative location of the lug and variation of the wall thickness. The analysis was executed by finite element analysis for finding optimal design parameters. The structure was divided into three parts consisting of the initial thickness zone, the transitional Bone, and the weak zone, whose effects on the pressure vessel strength was investigated. Finally the optimal lug location and the three zone thickness were obtained and the weight was compared with the uniform thickness vessel.

This paper presents the theroetical analysis of the crack tip stress intensity factor for a center crack in a finite width plate with variable thickness. The analyses were based on Laurent's expansions of complex stress potentials where the expansion coefficients are determined from the boundary conditions. The perturbation method was employed in numerical calculations. The correction factor F(.lambda.)is given in the form of power series of .lambda. [a numerical formula] where .lambda.=a/w$^{1}$; Dimensionless crack length, .betha.=t$_{2}$/t; Thickness ratio .omega.=w$_{2}$/w$_{1}$; width ratio The correction factor values vary with the width ratio .omega. and the maximum variation occurs around .betha.=1. For the case of .betha.=1 or .betha.=0 (uniform thickness plate0, the correction factor values agree well with Feddersen's formula. In all cases, as .lambda. approaches to 1 (thickness interface), the correction factor values are decreased rapidly for .betha.>1, and increased rapidly for .betha.<1.

We report on variations of electrical properties with different active layer thickness and post-annealing temperature in amorphous In-Ga-Zn-O (IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs). In particular, subthreshold swing (SS) of the IGZO-TFTs was improved as increasing the active layer thickness at an given post-annealing temperature, accompanying the negative shift in turn-off voltage. However, as increasing post-annealing temperature, only turn-off voltage was shifted negatively with almost constant SS value. The effect of the active layer thickness and post-annealing temperature on electrical properties, such as SS, field effect mobility and turn-off voltage in IGZO-TFTs has been explained in terms of the variation of trap density in IGZO channel layer and at gate dielectric/IGZO interface.
The flow characteristics of a swirl injector were investigated with the variation of the flow condition and geometric dimensions, such as orifice length for considering the viscous effect and tangential entry port area for considering the swirl intensity. The liquid film thickness strongly influencing on the formed drop size of the spray was measured using a new technique. The film thickness measurement technique proposed here, used the attenuation of fluorescence signal near the injector exit. The breakup length that is important for the flame location as well as the spray cone angle which influences on the ignition performance was measured using a backlit stroboscopic photography technique. From the experimental results, it is found that an increase in injection pressure decreased the film thickness and breakup length, and also enlarged the spray cone angle. A decrease in orifice length and tangential entry port area has a similar tendency of thinner film thickness, shorter breakup length and larger spray cone angle. In the present study, we proposed empirical models of the flow characteristics of the swirl injectors.
